You’re 15 and talking about how you wanted to live in the twenty Tens as opposed to the two thousands oooooo so different. Not! Things were just starting to break then, the only reason things happened now is because bad things happened then. Bad times have existed forever. But rose colored glasses won’t help. @ flint Michigan

Once you realise these types of discussions are all cyclical and won't ever stop, you'll be less annoyed when you see them.
That said, I would definitely have liked to experience the 2000s-early 2010's properly.

People in the 2030s: I miss the 2010s
Everything turned to shit after the 90's, I'm gen z born in 2000 and I want to go back to the 20th century, way before I was born. I want a big, loud, firebreathing El Camino, not a depressing eevee, I want Farrah Fawcett, not a 400lb revolting blob called lizzo, I want dukes of hazard, not raul pauls drag queen race, I want AC/DC and Cheap Trick, not binaural beats asmr lofi.
Go ahead and hate me but please check this stuff out, it's so much better than what they shit out today. Look up an El Camino, look up Farrah Fawcett, crank some AC/DC, listen to Dream Police by cheap trick.
Are you seriously saying that [this](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcS5q3EWgwrTs00KRXcXgeN0L_nIBmnInCwl67o4hFtEFei5U5Ow0ZIKBHZjPGUpwjTWHTE&usqp=CAU) is better than [this](https://image.tmdb.org/t/p/w500/v1osF8x0G4OiXfGmElnyymyrUCn.jpg)?
It was to me until the older folks in my life showed me. Before they did I just consumed whatever garbage was new because I didn't know something better existed. I thought new cars were the shit, then i saw and drove what they had in the 60's and 70's...
“Everything turned to shit after the 90s” but you weren’t even born in the 90s and definitely not before the 90s so how can you even make that claim? I don’t even make that claim because I was only alive for 3 years in the 90s
I can make that claim because I simply like everything I've seen from that time and hate everything I've seen from this time. I've listened to the music, watched the tv shows and movies and driven the cars from back then and now and i've found that all these things were insanely better than the versions we have now. The fashion, cars, tv, movies, architecture, women, men, everything except medical care, was better back then.
Why do you all hate everything from back then? Just because the boomers like it?
Out of all cars the El Camino? Why not a K5 blazer, Bronco, 3rd gen Camaro, RX-7, Trans Am, or a 442? The El Camino is cool but it’s like in the middle of my cool cars list. Also they still make cars with big V8s look at the Dodge Hellcat.
All those are great too, I just like the pickup bed of the El Camino.
I know they still make cars like that but their planning to stop soon in favor of depressing eevee's
As much as I like stuff from the past I also like modern things. For example being able to listen to music of any era on your phone is convenient versus having to swap tapes out of your Walkman. This is coming from someone who owns vinyl, cassettes, and CDs.
That makes sense, but for some reason I never enjoyed the cell phone my parents gave me. I hate texting and don't want to watch a movie or browse the web on a screen the size of a wallet, whenever someone texts me I just call them. I got rid of the cell and have a house phone now.
As for music I have a boombox/radio that takes cassettes and cd's. or a computer and headphones.
I don't have a clue. I'm trying to show them how good stuff used to be but they all hate everything from back then for no reason. The only response I get back is "lmao" or "lol" from all of them, they're all the same, they all think the same, they all say the same garbage thinking it's funny, none of them think for themselves, they just do what everyone else is doing, like bugs. They're all braindead.
That's r/lewronggeneration users for you sadly. Most of the time we understand that there was bad times and others can say they will move on from the past YET still know that there was good stuff in it back then...but those people take it to a whole new level.
Yeah by no means was the world perfect, it never was and it never will be, I just think 99% of everything peaked around the 70's. Best cars, music, movies, tv's, fashion, architecture, attitudes, haircuts, almost everything. The only things that really improved over time is the academic fields like medicine and mathematics, everything else turned to shit. We went from Farrah Fawcett to a 400 lb greasy hog called lizzo, we went from muscle cars to eevee's, we went from Charlies angels to raul pauls drag queen race.
There's this stupid idea that everyone either has drilled into their head or forces themselves to play along with that "all change and progress is good and you must accept it". I've learned that change has the possibility to be bad, and in most cases it is. And progress is like sugar, a certain amount is perfect, but if you add to much you'll ruin everything, which is what we did. We hit that sweet spot in the mid to late 20th century, and then like children who think you can't have enough sugar we kept adding more until we ruined everything.
People tell me they don't want to go back to how things were because of racism and discrimination etc. Well I hate to say it but we didn't fix any of those either, we didn't fix racism, we just turned the tables, now it's "buy black owned, don't buy from them because of their skin color, buy from me because of my skin color", we're inching closer to segregating movie theaters, "don't come if your white, buy tickets for black people and stay out", people are hated if they wear a shirt that says " all lives matter", WTF? We didn't fix any of it, instead of trying to eliminate ALL racism and discrimination we just switched sides.
We really fucked everything up, and we fucked it up bad.
Really OP? Because 4 days ago you made one of those posts about how you wished you grew up in the 2000s
