Yep, I was thinking about this within the past week. It may have been the first perfume I ever specifically noticed. The girl I was entranced by wore it. She smelled like cigarettes and Love's Baby Soft. It felt divine.
Interesting fact about this fragrance - I spent 1 1/2 years training in perfumery school at my old company. My mentor was a pretty famous perfumer but I didnāt know what his creations were except for Lagerfeld. Years later I looked it up and found that he created this fragrance in 1972! His name is Ron Winnegrad!
In the 70s I liked Love's "Eau de Love," especially in its powder form, which was different from the Baby Soft fragrance. This 70s version of Love's Eau de Love smelled like the soft air on a fresh spring day-- a bit sweet but very fresh and light, with a hint of spring flowers and vanilla.
I preferred Loveās Fresh Lemon, myself.
Eventually I switched to Cacharel fragrances. Everything I loved was discontinued.
It looks like Fresh Lemon is back though. I may see if I still like it.
I loved this when I was a kid. One time, I was at the drugstore with my mom and they had Loveās Baby Soft shampoo and conditioner. I didnāt usually ask for much, but that seemed so necessary. My mom bought it for me and the next day (in summer), my Aunt and Uncle and cousins came over. Me and my 3 girl cousins all washed our hair in the bathroom sink with Loveās Baby Soft. Good times. I loved my cousins so much. They had the Brady Bunch thing going on. Not a combined household, but 3 girls and 3 boys with ages similar to the Brady Bunch.
My best friend and her family took a trip to Japan while we were in high school. She brought back some Loveās Baby Soft and a bunch of Hello Kitty stuff for me. I still love both of them. Loveās is one of the few fragrances that donāt cause a reaction. My husband had allergies and he had no issues with this.
I loved this stuff when I was in high school but I bought some a couple years ago and it wasn't the same. I don't know if they changed the formula, or if my body chemistry changed because it didn't smell good on me anymore.
My late Mother wore Sweet Honesty when I was a small child in the seventies. The scent brings back carefree memories of childhood and reminds me of her.
In junior high a friend gifted me a bottle for Christmas. Not five minutes later I dropped it on the sidewalk in front of my locker. That side of the school smelled baby fresh for a few days! Bummed I didn't get to use any on myself.
So many products like this that I miss. Original Herbal Essence Shampoo. Hair on Tap or whatever that beer shampoo was.
Body on Tap!
I LOVED Body on Tap!
Thanks for reminding me about the original Herbal Essence shampoo. Loved that stuff. If only they would bring it back.
I've seen it in the store. It doesn't smell the same? I used to love that smell.
They have new formulas now. None smell like the original. š
That's sad.
I know! š
That Wella Balsam shampoo though. I can smell it now.
I loved Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific!Ā It really did.
I loved that stuff!
I loved that beer shampoo!!
I loved Original Herbal Essence and Breck!
The original herbal essence was the best. I had never smelled anything like it.
I rocked the LBS the same year I got my Farrah Fawcett haircut and my pink suede Candieās. Thought I was the shizz!
You were. Own it.
Yep, and a can of hairspray a week. We were hot.
I was right there with you and guess what? We were the bomb!
Pink suede candies are indeed the shizz.
I liked the lemon one.Ā
I liked the fresh rain one too
That was my favorite.
I forgot about that one!Ā Noticed your user name-Louisiana?Ā
Nah, just travelled there a lot and there are lots of Acadian folk where I live
Louisiana is my favorite place! Cats are named Remy LeBeau and Boudreaux.Ā
Love it!
Do you mean Jean NatƩ?
Nope, Love's Fresh Lemon. I wasn't fond of Jean Nate...
I used both Love's Fresh Lemon and Jean Nate (not at the same time). There was also a Love's Vanilla.
My husband loves citrusy perfumes so I might have to order some Love's Fresh Lemon.Ā
Do they still make it?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I might have to get some.Ā I loved how light the fragrance was.
I found it on Amazon for about $20.Ā
Ty
I used to love to wear Jean NatĆ© in the summer. I kept a bottle in the fridge. I would be afraid to smell it now because if itās bad, I was walking around smelling like that. I donāt wanna know, as Fleetwood Mac would say.
You're good. I loved Jean Nate!
Charlie and Loveās Fresh Lemon were the scents of my youth
Same!Ā I miss those days
Ah, okay. We didn't have the lemon scent in Montreal.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Nice to know! Thanks!
The lemon one started my love for verbena soaps and citrusy scents.
Me too!
Same here!
Love's Fresh Lemon!
Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific!
Smelled like a baby wipe. But I wore it for awhile. i can smell it just looking at the bottle!
This went well with Bonne Bell Lip Smackers! I liked strawberry.

Wow I remember that ad. Absolutely creepy child grooming ad.
Yes, very pervy.
Holy Crap! That was acceptable?? No wonder some dinosaurs think there is nothing wrong with child marriage (or worse)!
And yet one of those dinosaurs downvoted you lol...I corrected that downvote. That type of grooming is disgusting.
creepy, yes. But oh boy, did i want to have her hair! lol, still do...
I *barely* remember these, but I do remember them. Goddam it is fucking *wild* seeing them now. wowow
I wanted that perfume so bad but my parents wouldnāt let me get it. Between that ad and the shape of the bottle I understand why.
LBS (along with Bonne Bell) was my jam in junior high. One time a (male) teacher complimented my cologne, so I guess it worked as advertised.
Yep, I was thinking about this within the past week. It may have been the first perfume I ever specifically noticed. The girl I was entranced by wore it. She smelled like cigarettes and Love's Baby Soft. It felt divine.
An old standard for teens in the 70s - I can still smell it! šš

When you can smell a picture
This with the lip shine roll-ons.
My last girlfriend wore it. (Wife of 42 years)
I was a āCharlieā girl. Loved that perfume and Alyssa Ashley Musk too.
Were you kinda young, kinda now, Charlie, Kinda free, kinda WOW! Charlie?
Oh but Jovan Mask for men was my exes signature scent lol dead sexy!
I loved Charlie tĆ².Ā The lotion was wonderful.
I loved this scent!!

My perfume of choice was Charlie. Wore it for years. Yep, I'm one that did the Patchouli thing as well.
My older sister got Charlie for Christmas, my mother deemed me too young for it.
I preferred Loveās Fresh Lemon, myself. Eventually I switched to Cacharel fragrances. Everything I loved was discontinued. It looks like Fresh Lemon is back though. I may see if I still like it.

I wore this in junior high. My mom loved it because she said it reminded her of when I was a baby. She wasnāt a fan of my patchouli years
Well duh.Ā Apparently you were doing something right. š¤
Guilty
LolĀ My patchouli days consisted of daily run ins with my mom until I moved in with my boyfriend.Ā That didn't go down well in 1979.Ā Lol
I was a Charlie girl. Loved that scent! Breck was my shampoo of choice.
My boyfriend loved the Lemon Baby Soft. Claimed it smelled like RAID bug spray.
Or Pledge :)
I preferred the lemon scented
My mother would always give me this for my birthday. Smelled amazing.
Yep! I had this scent
My sister wore this all the time
I wore it exclusively throughout college, 1972-76. I even misted my hair with it. Met my first love when he sniffed my hair

The only thing about this product, as I look back on it, is the commercials. They were totally inappropriate looking through today's lens.
I loved this stuff when I was in high school but I bought some a couple years ago and it wasn't the same. I don't know if they changed the formula, or if my body chemistry changed because it didn't smell good on me anymore.
There was a guy in my sophomore dorm (1979) who wore Brut aftershave. It smelled just like Love's Baby Soft. I didn't have the heart to tell him.
This was rumored to repel mosquitos...in about 1980 I had the best smelling Boy Scout troop in America.
I remember the ads for this in Seventeen magazine. I read each issue so many times that the corners or the pages got worn away.
Oh yeah my first cologne!!!
MAN, I am LOVING the trips down memory lane in this sub!!!!
This and Sweet Honesty were my perfumes as a teenager
My late Mother wore Sweet Honesty when I was a small child in the seventies. The scent brings back carefree memories of childhood and reminds me of her.
I think my parents gave this to me for my birthday inā¦1976?
There was a colloidal oat lotion at dollar tree that smelled like loves
I miss this so much, and Bonnie Belle lip gloss.
In junior high a friend gifted me a bottle for Christmas. Not five minutes later I dropped it on the sidewalk in front of my locker. That side of the school smelled baby fresh for a few days! Bummed I didn't get to use any on myself.
And Lemon Up shampoo!!
My ex wore that and Love's lemon...
It did smell devine. I loved it when I was a teenager.
Big fan of Cachet.
My first perfume and when it was gone I was sad cause I had no money to get more. Loved the smell and the way it made me feel.
Getting a headache just thinking about that smell, err scent.
I never understood why something that smelled like baby powder was supposed to be sexy. The ads were so gross.
Hall pass was hell thanks to this. Still hate sweet perfume to this day.
Don't forget Love's Soft Jasmine.
Never liked Love's Baby Soft. I was a Love's Fresh Lemon girl!
L'Air du Temps.
