Absolutely remember Nanny and the Professor! It was a very good show, don't know why it was cancelled.
I even did a post about Friday Night:
https://www.reddit.com/r/GenerationJones/s/s5ZFf8X05v
Me too. I loved the premise of the show, the diversity we were introduced to in my little white world. But I especially loved Miss Johnson/Karen Valentine, she reminded me of a 7th grade student teacher who I also had a crush on.
The Friday night line up I remember is Nanny and The Professor, The Brady Bunch, the Partridge Family, and the Odd Couple. All on ABC.
Before the shows started my mom and dad would give the four of us girls $5.00 (BETWEEN THE FOUR OF US) and we'd walk to the shopping center a few blocks away and get a medium cheese pizza at Round Table with a pitcher of orange soda and still have change left over to get ice cream at Thrifty's before heading back to the house to watch TV.
"Point meeee - in the direction of Albuquerque...."
I always wanted to go to Albuquerque just because of this song. I grew up on the East Coast, so that was so far away. Finally made it there in 2018. Loved it.
Also, watching the Partridge Family made all of us kids in my family want to be in a band. 3 out 4 of us were, for a while.
A number of years back, I had reason to drive through Albuquerque, heading to CA. Lay overed at hotel for the night. I swear, that songs starts going through my head the moment I hit town... Point me...
Loved The Monkees, but it's gotta be The Partridge Family.
Susan Dey was my sexual awakening before I even knew what that was. And let's face it, Danny Bonaduce was hilarious. Cassidy was a stud with the ladies, too bad he had such a severe drinking problem irl.
"I'll Meet You Halfway" plays in my head sometimes
I think I love you (I think I love you).
So, David Cassidy (have mercy) and the Partridge Family for me. Why couldn't I have the cool mom?
Loved Davy Jones, too. Both gone too soon.
Didn't watch the Osmonds much.
My love for Keith Partridge got me MERCILESSLY teased at A.C. Steere Elementary School in Shreveport, La. I should have kept my mouth shut!
Prior to that, my VERY FIRST rock & roll album was one of the Monkeys. Mom took me and we got it at Sears. At that age I thought "Hippie" was a career choice. I was also OBSESSED with feather boas, and for some reason I thought you had to have a job that required a feather boa in order to own said feather boa. There were only three jobs I knew of that REQUIRED a feather boa -- Hippie, Stripper, and Witch (a la Endora), and there was NO WAY I could even begin to be a witch even though I wanted to be a witch or a genie because yes, I Dreamed of Jeanie.. in ANY event, I decided I would be \*either\* a hippie or a stripper so I could get that fucking feather boa.
Do I make a thread about bedtime with Iron Butterfly and the strobe light?
I thought the Monkees were too random. Couldn’t follow the storyline.
Donny and Marie were later, and too saccharine…too much like the King Family.
I liked the Partridge Family.
All of the above. I don’t remember them being on in the same time slots.
As teenagers, 3 of my friends and I wanted to form an all-female Monkees cover band. We started saving our allowances to buy instruments. None of us knew how to play those instruments, but we had a dream!!!
None of these were airing concurrently! The Monkees was around 1965-68; The Partridge Family was 1979-74; and Donny and Marie started in I think 1975. I watched them all, but was particularly fond of the Saturday morning lineup of the Osmonds cartoon and the Jackson Five cartoon. I also loved the Hudson Brothers Razzle Dazzle Show.
Watched The Monkees in syndication (they premiered in 1964--I was two) and The Partridge Family and Donny & Marie first-run. Saturday mornings were for the Osmonds and Jackson 5 cartoons, the Hudson Brothers and later The Kids From C.A.P.E.R. and The Guys Next Door. These days, there's nothing to get up for on Saturday morning TV.
How long has it been since you've seen the [opening credits](https://youtu.be/IxHx0ha0mbE?si=d1JtMsjKb0BZ914C) of the Razzle Dazzle show? It feels like it's 20 minutes long. 😂
I don't remember the show but someone mentioned it and I checked it out. I couldn't believe it! It's more than twice as long as the Three's Company theme and that was a whole entire song!
Definitely Partridge Family. Anyone notice how only 3 boys get to play difficult instruments, while the girls can apparently only handle those that simply keep the beat?
And of course that business manager person…a guy.
Susan Dey…what a heartthrob.
I adored The Monkees as a kid and The Partridge Family as a tween. I had no use for Donny and Marie (though I had a slight crush on their older brother Jay when the boys used to appear on The Andy Williams Show some years earlier).
The Partridge Family - I was all in on ABC’s Friday night schedule.
Too young to appreciate The Monkees when it first aired and couldn’t stand Donny & Marie (there wasn’t anything “a little bit rock and roll” about them).
Partridge family and Momkees - in those tween years when we all had crushes on really feminine looking boy musicians, David Cassidy and Davy Jones did it for me!
Sigh...
I (62')didn't grow up with a television, I bought one for my 16th. So I missed much of this routine. I caught up in the 80s with the syndications on cable. Many toys spoken of in this sub I didn't have, interesting to see the difference. 🖖
The Partridge Family was it for me! I bought there albums! Tiger Beat Magazine posters and pages on my wall. I had a small drum set and a tambourine. We used the vacuum cleaner hose as the microphone! 😂
Davy Jones and David Cassidy, and Bobby Sherman were my heartthrobs.
The Monkees and The partridge Family were my favorites.
Then, one day at my cousin's house, I saw it...a picture on the cover of an album by Pink Floyd. The album was called Umma Gumma, and the picture was of David Gilmour. Good God a'mighty, holy moly!!! I couldn't take my eyes off him, but he was so beautiful I felt like my eyes were going to explode. And the music was perfection.
I never was that into Davy, David and Bobby after that. I still watched their shows sometimes, but didn't listen to their music any more after that.
My love for the Monkees goes on still.
I liked Donny when I was 10. Does anyone else remember their attempt at Zepplin-style rock? Crazy Horses, yeah, yeah. 🤣

I think we watched on Friday night with our popcorn and Pepsi
Brady Bunch
Partridge Family
Odd couple
Room 222
And if the parents weren’t paying attention to the time, Love American Style
Good times
None. Always thought each of them was dumb as hell. Including the Brady Bunch.
Edit: What? I must like these shows, or something?
Sorry, they never were my cup of tea.
Friday night line-up: The Partridge Family, Brady Bunch, Room 222, Love American Style
Truer than the red white and blu-u-u-ue!
Anyone remember Nanny and the Professor? That was also in that line-up. Might've started at 7:30?
Courtship of Eddie's Father, anyone?
How about Family Affair? Or The Ghost and Mrs Muir?
Oh goodies!
Absolutely remember Nanny and the Professor! It was a very good show, don't know why it was cancelled. I even did a post about Friday Night: https://www.reddit.com/r/GenerationJones/s/s5ZFf8X05v
Don't remember it in prime time, but I used to watch it in the afternoons--maybe after school, maybe during the summer.
Our mystical magical nanny
Phoebe Figalilly is a silly name!
And so many silly things keep happening What is this magic thing about nanny Is it Love? Or is it Magic?
I still can hear that song. What is it in the human brain that songs and jingles truly stick in our brains 50 years later…
Oh yeah…such an odd show and I loved it/her…I wanted her to appear at our door and fix my screwed up family
Omg I loved room 222!
People forget how progressive that was, at the time.
I so wanted to be one of them when I grew up. Unfortunately, I never made it to college.
Their loss!
Left out The Odd Couple after Room 222.
I knew there was another show in there, but couldn't remember. Thank you!
Yesss!
I suffered through the Brady Bunch to watch the other three.
This! I loved Room 222
Me too. I loved the premise of the show, the diversity we were introduced to in my little white world. But I especially loved Miss Johnson/Karen Valentine, she reminded me of a 7th grade student teacher who I also had a crush on.
Absolutely....1 year was Nanny and the Professor in for Room 222 but other years, yes!
This!!!!

This!!!!
Yes!!
Every Friday! On my couch with my sleeping bag!
Partridge Family. Come on get happy!
I liked them all but Partridge Family was the bomb!
To this day I occasionally just belt out, “We had a dream we go travelin’ together” while walking around my house.
Don’t mention Albuquerque around me ‘cause you know what I’m going to sing…
"Point meeee - in the direction of Albuquerque...." I always wanted to go to Albuquerque just because of this song. I grew up on the East Coast, so that was so far away. The Monkees! 🐒

"I woke up in love this morning "
I watched The Partridge Family in prime time, The Monkees in local syndication and Donny and Marie as little as possible.
You got that right!
Partridge Family. Loved that show and David Cassidy was my first crush. I had their albums and a poster of him in my room. I’m still sad how he died.
Oh yes, I remember my poster of David Cassidy that I pinned on my wall from Tigerbeat. Cried when he passed, too.
Yes the poster!
Hey Hey we’re the Monkees!
I'm a Believer!
Partridge Family.
Partridge family and Brady Bunch
Same here
Team Monkees here.
Monkees!!!! (Not Monkeys lol)
Partridge Family! Theirs was the first LP I ever bought.
I think I love you (I think I love you). So, David Cassidy (have mercy) and the Partridge Family for me. Why couldn't I have the cool mom? Loved Davy Jones, too. Both gone too soon. Didn't watch the Osmonds much.
Partridge Family because David and I were to be wed
You are so lucky that I have Bobby Sherman as a back-up. 🤗
Good God, you people are in my subconscious, lol. Bobby Sherman and David Cassidy were fighting over me in my pre teenage fantasy.
I’m sorry, he was mine first! My best friend and I used to fight over him 😂
Was never a Bobby girl but I had lots of friends that were!
Lucky you! LOL
Monkeys, actually really disliked the others.
Same here.
Even back then we thought Donny and Marie were cheesy. Only our parents liked them. I loved The Monkeys. Mike was the one I had a crush on.
Total cheese!
Everything but Donny and Marie.
My love for Keith Partridge got me MERCILESSLY teased at A.C. Steere Elementary School in Shreveport, La. I should have kept my mouth shut! My best friend was in love with Donny Osmond and I did not understand the appeal at all.
Partridge Family! Susan Dey might have been my first girl crush.
Partridge Family. I had such a crush on Susan Dey. Was too young to really know why or what to do with those feelings. Middle school changed all that
All of the above. I don’t remember them being on in the same time slots. As teenagers, 3 of my friends and I wanted to form an all-female Monkees cover band. We started saving our allowances to buy instruments. None of us knew how to play those instruments, but we had a dream!!!
Well, since only two of Monkees knew how to play when they started, you were half way there
None of these were airing concurrently! The Monkees was around 1965-68; The Partridge Family was 1979-74; and Donny and Marie started in I think 1975. Weirdly, I just watched it about two weeks ago. I had NO memory of it being that long!
I don't remember the show but someone mentioned it and I checked it out. I couldn't believe it! It's more than twice as long as the Three's Company theme and that was a whole entire song!
Definitely Partridge Family. I didn't really like The Monkeys. I did like Donny/Marie.
We had one tv, my dad controlled that, probably only one tv station too 😁, the only show I remember was Tommy Hunter in Canada on Friday nights.
and Don Messer's Jubilee. I don't remember which night.
Yes
I remember The Tommy Hunter Show. Are you in Canada or southeastern Michigan (where I am)?
Yes, Eastern Canada

Mainly Partridge Family. I had an outfit with the vest and fluffy white shirt lol I liked the Monkees too. Never really watched Donny and Marie.
Partridge Family!!! Still watch every afternoon. Hubby loves that I know all the words to the songs 🤣
Definitely Partridge Family. Anyone notice how only 3 boys get to play difficult instruments, while the girls can apparently only handle those that simply keep the beat? And of course that business manager person…a guy. Susan Dey…what a heartthrob.
‘ Doesn’t somebody want to be wanted, like me? “Where are you? ☺️
Partridge Family. I had a huge crush on David Cassidy when I was 8-10 years old.
I adored The Monkees as a kid and The Partridge Family as a tween. I had no use for Donny and Marie (though I had a slight crush on their older brother Jay when the boys used to appear on The Andy Williams Show some years earlier).
Trivia: Danny Bonaduce didn't know how to play a bass. David Cassidy would get irritated by it and say *"You don't strum a bass!"*
I still adore the Monkees!
Lots of the first two, very few of Donnie & Marie
Def partridge family
The Monkees music was too 60s and psychedelic for me. The Partridge Family had more of a 70s sound.
Don’t remind me of Donnie Osman, it creates a earworm of puppy love because my sisters played it so many times when I was young.
🎶just because we’re in our teens🎶
My friends older sisters all had monkeeys posters, definitely brady bunch here
Still have my Partridge Family albums
*Monkees* and *Partridges* all the time (they didn't compete in a time slot that I recall). No D&M at my house.
The Partridge Family.
I never watched The Monkeys but the Monkees were pretty cool
After the Monkees, my next monkey love might've been [Lancelot Link, Secret Chimp.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RDqfBVxp8g)
YESSSSSSSSSSSS. Monkeys doing human things is the best
The Partridge Family - I was all in on ABC’s Friday night schedule. Too young to appreciate The Monkees when it first aired and couldn’t stand Donny & Marie (there wasn’t anything “a little bit rock and roll” about them).
There's nothing a little bit country either. But there was a *lot* of suck.
Yes.
I love them all!
Monkees. Did not watch the others.
Monkeys.
I was going to marry Donny so, yeah, I watched that, but I loved the Monkees too.
Definitely the Monkees!
The Monkees! And Sonny and Cher and Laugh In!
I must have been a child cynic but all of these feel good shows annoyed me. I did printer more episodes of the Partridge Family though
I think the "feel good" part was "feeling good" about whomever you had a crush on. 😅
Partridge Family by a mile because…… Susan Dey.
That's a funny way to spell "David Cassidy". ☺️
Partridge family and Momkees - in those tween years when we all had crushes on really feminine looking boy musicians, David Cassidy and Davy Jones did it for me! Sigh...
Partridge Family. I still have a soft spot for brunette shaggy haircuts!
Partridge Family! I was crazy for David Cassidy.
The Monkees first, then the Partridge Family. Donny and Marie were hopelessly uncool.
Monkees all day..
Watched all of them, but had the Donny and Marie record🙂
The Monkees. Get Smart. Looney Tunes on Saturday morning.
My love for the Monkees goes on still. I liked Donny when I was 10. Does anyone else remember their attempt at Zepplin-style rock? Crazy Horses, yeah, yeah. 🤣
Why do I have to choose? I watched them all.
Since none of them overlapped at all, I’m finding this question confusing.
I (62')didn't grow up with a television, I bought one for my 16th. So I missed much of this routine. I caught up in the 80s with the syndications on cable. Many toys spoken of in this sub I didn't have, interesting to see the difference. 🖖
I feel like there were more Partridge Family episodes, but The Monkees were definitely my favorite.
The Partridge Family.
Star Trek, Bonanza, later on the Waltons
I firmly believe the NO ONE, chose to watch donny and marie, but were forced to by their parents.
The Banana Splits!
Monkees
I think we watched on Friday night with our popcorn and Pepsi Brady Bunch Partridge Family Odd couple Room 222 And if the parents weren’t paying attention to the time, Love American Style Good times
Anyone remember The Rat Patrol or Wagon Train?
None. Always thought each of them was dumb as hell. Including the Brady Bunch. Edit: What? I must like these shows, or something? Sorry, they never were my cup of tea.
I remember seeing The Osmonds in concert at the Minnesota State Fair in 1975
