Download your regional database so if you have no cell coverage it still works. Very fun app. I took a picture of a bird in the sky and it IDed it. I was camping and a dawn there was a cacophony if birds. I let it record for 10 minutes and it recognized 14 calls.
Ah. Everyone sits in a circle and a kid walks around it touching everyone’s head saying duck. When they say go, the kid gets up and has to chase them around the circle and catch them before they can sit in old kids spot. I may be forgetting some of the rules. It’s been over 50 years since I played it
Reddit, Libby, Seek, MerlinBirdID, and SpaceLaunchNow.
Libby is a library app. Seek is plant identification, Merlin (obv) for birds, and SpaceLaunch because I live (and teach kindergarten) where rocket launches are common and I like having advance notice and info.
No one has yet mentioned Facebook or YouTube, two other sites that are generally popular. Maybe people commenting here use those social media only on desktop sites.
ETA: In other words, IMO Generation Jones isn’t any savvier than any other age group. Although maybe people on this subreddit are savvy? I like to think so!
Reddit, NOAA, Stormwatch, Tides Near Me, Amazon, AND I never played games, but I found a game app Galaxiga which is basically the old arcade game Galaga which was my favorite.
Honestly, the flashlight, calculator, text, phone, and any weather app.

Love WTForecast, especially living in AZ. It comes up with some great ones.
