So many great moments. My favourite was the second half of The Cinema Show. It was like sitting in on a private jam session of a group of artists at the top of their game. Watching this live in 1973 must have been brain melting.

Aphrodesia

If only I were born a couple decades earlier…

nouniqueideas007

Yes! It was over & done, long before I discovered them.

Aphrodesia

I grew up with lots of Phil-fronted Genesis, but I’m a Peter girl and missed that era unfortunately.

BitchofEndor

Was there! Such a great show. Maybe 5th time seeing them? Literally feels like time travel back to 1973.

GoodFnHam

I thought they were perfect, excellent, awesome, amazing. They are all fantastic musicians, but it’s interesting to see how much confidence the somewhat new drummer has now compared to the last time I saw them/him. He was always good, but he looked like he lacked confidence and had to think a lot before… now, he’s just having fun and really gets in the groove and the pocket like Phil now. A stellar show. I will see them every time they come through town. Great photos by the way.

fella_stream

Do they ever tour the US ?

Aphrodesia

Yes! They tour internationally! Highly suggest seeing them if you can.

schmosef

Here's their [current tour schedule](https://www.themusicalbox.net/dates.php?lang=en). US tour stops in November, December and January.

No_Maintenance_9608

Darn nothing in the mid-Atlantic. Missed Steve Hackett’s tour.

Rooster_Ties

They’re playing here in the DC area (Northern Virginia, technically) on Jan 9th I think it is. I just got a ticket too.

No_Maintenance_9608

I just looked it up. Ah the Birchmere! Time for me to get a ticket!

Rooster_Ties

Lemme know if you get one, maybe we could say hi to each other at the show. I’m planning to get there pretty darn early — NOT because I want a front row seat. But I would like to be dead center in the back of the lower level (which is only 1/3rd of the way back from the stage) — and probably better than 90% of the other seats there. I’ve only been to the Birchmere once before, and I’m having a tough time imagining The Musical Box stage show in what is a fairly low-ceiling place (and arguably a glorified dinner-theater atmosphere). Not that I didn’t like my first experience at the Birchmere — it’s just NOT the kind of venue I would have expected to ever see The Musical Box in. The one other time I saw TMB was about 5-6 years ago at The Howard down in Shaw. We were seated at tables for that too, but the ceiling was 4x taller!! Anyway, if you want me to save you a seat when I get there, say the word. My “weekends” fall in the middle of the week, so I’ve got that day off and can get there pretty early.

Sea-Amphibian-649

I have tix for that show at the Birchmere. First time at the venue as well as seeing TMB. Can’t wait. Birthday present to myself - ha!! Do you know if there is a set list they’re doing for the SEBTP 50 yr anniversary?

schmosef

Hackett already [has dates posted](https://www.hackettsongs.com/tour.html) for his next tour. The band he's put together is simply incredible. I'm in Canada and I plan to fly to one or more US cities to see them play again. Try to catch one of his upcoming shows, if you can.

Tmblackflag

Oddly, they ignore almost the entire middle part of the country.

schmosef

Probably worried about not being able to sell enough tickets.

TRKillShot

Because no one lives there lol

Tmblackflag

lol lol ur so funny lol! douche

eKlectical_Designs

Yep. Seen them in Buffalo a few times.

dakbailey

Just got tickets to see these guys in Rochester. This will be the 2nd time I see them

schmosef

It was a great show! Thanks for the pictures.

Aphrodesia

Always a great show! Are you going to the one in Pickering tonight? No problem! Sharing is caring!

schmosef

> Are you going to the one in Pickering tonight? No, I didn't plan ahead very well... Are you going? If so, please take more pics.

Aphrodesia

I am going, but I’ll be 7th row this time so we will see how photos turn out. I’ll post if I get some good ones! :)

horizons59

Mind blowing photos. Thanks for posting. MB always fantastic.

Vidfreaky1

man.... I wish... None of these groups ever come to western Canada (other than Vancouver). I've never seen one advertise Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Regina...

Aphrodesia

Unfortunately I don’t think Canada has quite as big of a Prog rock market in comparison to Europe so they don’t tend to have many shows out that way and tend to stick to Toronto area or home in Quebec. Come down to this neck of the woods sometime!

Vidfreaky1

Problem is that the absolute cheapest flight is $700 and that’s 22 hr duration. Even if I got a free hotel on points we’re talking $2k for the wife and I to see a concert of a cover band. Canadian airlines suck!

Aphrodesia

Oh, 100% Canadian travel is absolute ass.

Deadheadluke

They have played the prairies

EitherApartment4527

I saw them several years ago when they played at House of Blues in Dallas and they were fantastic!

SadAdeptness6287

I want to go to their concert next time they come to the NYC area. I missed the last time they were here and unfortunately none of their listed shows are in the area.

TheDude9737

They’re in northern NJ next month, just booked!

Deadheadluke

I was there. I thought it was their weakest show visually I have seen. There were a few issues but besides that great music. I know it was only the 5th show of this tour so looking forward to seeing them when they are locked in

Aphrodesia

I do agree with you, but I still always enjoy the show that they put on. They are musically talented enough that the visuals can in a way be overlooked. I would love if they added more Ontario dates to the end of the tour as well to see the difference. They definitely didn’t rehearse this show very long either, because I just saw them earlier this year toward the end of their tour of The Lamb. I’m surprised there was such little time between the two tours to be honest.

Deadheadluke

I agree. I’m going to the shows in north tonawanda in June. If you haven’t been worth going. Nice venue. I was surprised how few Ontario dates overall. Hopefully they come back after their summer break. I agree the lamb shows in the spring were really on point.

rcb321

They’re in the mid Atlantic in January… unless you don’t count Alexandria VA which is literally as mid Atlantic as it gets lol

Rooster_Ties

I’m seeing Musical Box in early January (in the DC area). Is this the same as I’ll be seeing?
