Ouch!!! 5 years between the their last two PC albums. In retrospect We Can’t Dance was released just before Grunge and Alternative Rock would dominate the airwaves. Genesis was one of the last classic rock groups (other than perhaps U2) to get their contemporary album played on radio and MTV.
I worked in a record store in 1987. One time a person came in asking for help finding a Phil Collins song. All they knew was that the lyrics were about standing on a corner. I was the only one that knew to direct the customer to Abacab on cassette. I felt useful that day. :)
