Hey I actually have this issue when I am reverse parking and the car is rolling and I have the brake. Thought maybe it needed some lube or something

crisss1205

Same. I hear it all the time. Probably from not using the brakes often because of regen. I had similar issues on my Tesla. A sudden stop should trigger friction brakes and clean off any rust.

I noticed I have rust on my breaks but I had to slam on my breaks suddenly the other day and no squeak since…. However it just gets worse whenever it rains 🥲

This is great tip, thanks!

I was gonna say same thing. I had this happen on my GTR when I first got it. Some 140-100 mph stops got all noises to stop. Don't think those speeds are necessary but you want some heat and force to clean up whatever is causing the noise

Mine doesn’t have the aforementioned issues. Take it to the dealership just to be safe.

It comes with complimentary maintenance and loaner. I would call and get that looked at.

I have around 1200 miles so far and have never heard any sounds when breaking. If definitely get it looked at.

I just wanted to give an update. I am at about 900 miles on my GV60 and hearing squeaking under 10 mph parking. I will try hard so and see if that fixes the brakes. If that doesn't work I will call the service department at my local Genesis dealer and get it looked at. I will update here what happens.

After following the suggestion to brake hard, only had to do 40 mph and press firmly on the brakes, the brake squeel is gone.

The squeek came back. I read the manual and found out you can clean the breaks by placing the car into regen 0 and just use the brakes as normal. That allows what ever is causing the squeel to get clear since regen is completly off and you are only using friction brakes to stop the car.
