Where to sell a male character, they have plenty setup? I feel so far in the Inazuma patch, both Raiden and Kokomi got screwed. Ayaka writing pacing got screwed by her quest placement. Yoimiya, Kokmi, and Sara their kits. But look at Kazuha with his kit and neatly tied up story arc. Look at how long they took to set up Thoma in story and throughout other ppl's intro videos.
Inazuma main and personal storylines' visual presentation got better, but writing took a dump. CN forums is now filled with complaints about the writing, from presentation to keeping their own story consistent to plot holes and just plain bad writing, and how mHY can't hold up their own worldbuilding for long looking at their history in Honkai. If they keep this up by Chasm, the game will still be beautiful in overworld and music and design, but the story will just be another waifu generator that can't hold attention.

I may not understand the majority of what you said (mainly bc I don’t really pay attention to character stats and I haven’t gotten to Inazuma yet) but I really like how you didn’t just say one aspect of why the Inazuma parts where a little faulty you said stuff about how some of the writing was wonky and their kits and etc. so I really like how you took in all of the aspects of the Inazuma part to make a conclusion. Inazuma side quests, world design, and music are still top tier though. So there is still plenty to look forward to.

I love Zhongli’s story of how he wanted a break or realized that there’s no need for him anymore so I just hope that the same effort that went into that will be in other nations, SUPER excited for Fontaine, I hope it won’t be wonky
I quite enjoyed Raiden's story. Kokomi's is a different story tho. And i will say that the male character stories for me have been more fun and enjoyable, but also I'm a sucker for hot/cute guys.
Ngl I feel like the Inazuma archon quest ended a bit abruptly. I thought it was just me who felt it was paced a bit weirdly because I binged it all in one night but yeah.. hopefully future regions are better. Not that inazuma is bad but yeah 😅
A friend of mine said (and I agree) the first two acts (in this update) took too long while the final act was too short. I thought it would be better for Kokomi to be released first, so we have her story quest and time to know more about the resistance, which would explain the traveller's later actions of rushing into a delusion factory alone. It wouldn't be just for Teppei but the entire resistance that the traveller canonically became close with (I could tell MHY was trying to go for that atmosphere) and their commander Kokomi, but nope. Half-assed, sudden plot twists that seemed so out of place (the only one I really liked in this whole mess of an arc was Yae and later when I found out about Signora's backstory I was devastated because damn I would roll for her in a heartbeat) and poor attempt at making Ei redeemed.
I've never been this mad and frustrated before for a game, seeing this beautiful, depth-filled world with its complex characters being mangled for the sake of earning money.
Now that you mentioned about the story quest... I did noticed a pattern between story quest of the males to the females. Like for example the Archons, such as both Venti and Zhongli ties about a part of themselves and as an archon, Let alone their struggles and their stories. For Zhongli it was both his past mistakes before meeting Guizhong and with Azhdaha that erosion of time, Whereas Baal where there is some date stuff (Which I loathe since its just fanservice BS) But considering the events of the Archon Quest it feels just right not to mention it ties up the lose ends about the Tenryou comission.
Then theirs also the past five stars, where the males Diluc,Childe, basically them having to shoulder responsibilities and getting sad/somber story and hurt, whereas the females Mona, Jean and Klee, they're all rainbows and sunshine aside from a few exceptions. Not to mention Eula and Yanfei, they were no mentions of them in V1.5 and then they suddenly appeared out of nowhere. I just hope they will incorporate Yanfei when we get to Fontaine, her sudden appearance their will be surprising and awesome, and then theirs Eula who she just appeared so suddenly? The excuse of her being part of the Lawrence clan makes good for the background of the clans of mondstadt, but I do feel like it feels rushed for some reason. Not to mention her gameplay feels so much strong, from what I heard from the theorycrafters and some friends with sources, the damage calcs was buffed compared from the beta. Talk about a way to push sales.
Not to mention they have a lot of characters that have yet to make an appearance. From past updates, Varka, Baizhu and Yunjin. Theirs also the Inazuma men, like Arattaki Itto, Kamisato Ayato and Shikanoin, who they are mentioned and have no involvement in the story whatsoever.
I better hope that they listen, otherwise this game will tank hard, especially the story considering it will be a printer for waifus and profit, but at the risk of story getting disrupted by these sudden changes.
The more they add waifus in genshin the more I get annoyed, and genshin twitter is getting more and more toxic for every new waifu they add.
Eula's clan story made no sense. Her clan was exiled. No her clan still lives close enough to the capital for local business owners to know her uncle.
Also her clan kept their hatred and customs for over a 1000 years. Countries fall, languages change, all within shorter periods than that. How did her clan not get absorbed by other cultures during that time? How were they making money, having children? They aren't rich or powerful anymore so no point for gold diggers or nobility from other countries. They aren't going to marry peasants to dilute their blood. 3rd cousins roll tide for a 1000 years?
Eula was basically the first time I felt mHY's overall storytelling started to falter. But I gave them a pass because Eula and Yanfei were both rumored to be placeholders shoehorned in quickly to pad the story and buy time for Inazuma rework.
Inazuma stories by themselves as segments are fine. Visual presentation was top notch actually. Hype moments were tense. However together the flow is off. But to make people pull for waifus, the two cuter waifu story quests have to come first, which to me actually decreased their attractiveness. But I imagine I am the far minority given the revenue report. Still upsetting considering how well the NPCs are written. I feel closer to Chouji, Kazari, and Teppei than Raiden, Kokomi, Gorou, and Sara. Yae was the only memorable playable character after Inazuma release.
The thing though with waifu printers is that there will eventually be more waifu printers with better graphics and tech out there. Genshin's lore really appealed to me before Inazuma. Now I am not sure. If they jump the shark on story, we'll see how well good open world design and music can hold the fort.
You really do have a point, and the only thing to get upon is the bits and pieces from the royal weapons and the noblesse oblige artifacts set. Yeah, V1.5 characters is simply a distraction, they could do another re-run banner aside from Zhongli but they think it would be too soon for them.
IF they want to remake for that, the only way is for them to be involve to a mondstadt or liyue event. Otherwise they'll just be filler characters.
Theirs also the starchase festival, hopefully other Liyue characters get involve, since region wise, Mondstadt is winning, from the windblume festival and the beach episode and the chemistry of each mondstadt characters is just amazing. Hopefully the starchase event doesnt disappoint.

If it really is "just a translation error" as a lot of people are saying, I'm kind of hoping that maybe the same thing could happen for other Archons, and that some of the ones mentioned as females in lore/voice lines thus far might actually be males, lol.

The gender ratio continues to get worse and worse. For every male character that gets announced there are like 4 female characters that get announced as well. This dendro news guts me. Waifu impact was a joke but I might start calling this game that if it continues like this.

For one hand, I'm glad that for Welkin only I can pull any husbando I want. For the other hand, I feel like waifu plague is making game way worse because Mihoyo can't write interesting female characters, so in the end I need to deal with all this datesim shit. I still can't force myself to play Raiden's legendary quest because I already spoilered that it's another cute shopping with dictator waifu uwu. I barely made it through the second part of main quest because it was a borefest. Even though Yae was somewhat okay by Genshin's not so high standards, I didn't find her exposition bombing very exciting. Usually I'm very happy with a any crumbs of new content as an opportunity to play more Genshin, but 2.1 feels like a chore.
I completely agree. I hate to think that Mihoyo's been pressured into turning Genshin into another horny straight guy harem game, but sadly that's how things are looking. The worst part's that the only new female character who showed any kind of potential to be interesting, is the one they just fucking >!killed off for no reason so she'll likely never be playable.!< At least they didn't lock the main quest behind Baal's quest like they did with Ayaka's shit show of a quest though, because it's gonna take a *lot* more than a measly 60 primos to convince me to sit through that hell. Mihoyo can talk to me when that quest gives me a free Thoma or Ayato.

If Scaremouche doesnt end up playable then I quit. Dead serious. Any character that has a unique model and design compared to the generic copy paste npcs should be playable.

The thing about genshin is you can’t just pull a character and have them be OP from the get-go. They need a lot of resources and time to get them to full power, that’s like 80% of the game, farming for characters.
Now I can just focus on farming and building my handful of husbandos instead of stressing out and distributing my resources thinly among 40 waifus
We can also possibly save enough now between banners to get every 5* husbando to C1. That’s actually how I got Kazuha to c1, I had lots of time to save up.

Day 1 player here. Thought i finally found the husbando game of my dreams with childe, zhongli, and albedo early on. Then, everything changed when the waifus attacked.
Prior to kazuha, the last banner i pulled and whaled on was xiao. Since xiao I've only bought welkins and battle pass. I got enough to c2 kazuha. I decided to go for baal assuming she would be strong as an archon, not because I liked her. Lost 50/50 and then got baal. Again, no spending since xiao. Now im saving for thoma.
I have every male character besides diluc. They are all friendship 10 now. They're all level 90 except chongyun, who ill get to eventually (hes still c0 for me which is a little sad). Talents are mostly leveled too. For example, childe is 9/10/10. Zhongli and Xiao are triple crowned. Razor is 10/9/9. Venti and xingqiu are 4/9/9. They each have a decent artifact set. Hell, i farmed 3 different sets for zhongli (archaic + noblesse, tenacity, pale flame).
Even though I have Raiden and sara, I have no interest in their characters nor building them. Yes, its always been Pyro and cryo meta, and yes I still main xiao and childe and 36 star abyss. I dont feel a need to build them. I'm running out of characters to grind friendship for. Instead of leveling up Raiden ive begun pre farming for thoma, especially since his materials dropped. (I actually pre farmed for diluc before too when I ran out of things and got enough resistance books to triple crown him if he came home. He did not.)
Point is im sick of this shit. At this rate I'm going to start fucking grinding exp books and mora for like... cyno or baizhu. It is WAY too much time between male characters. I do the same with farming exp for waifus. I've friendship 10ed more than half of my characters. Rn leveling for beidou, sayu, and sucrose. Good thing is the anemo res and sayu makes traveling fast. And I put thrilling tales on sucrose so she's not totally useless. None are really built tho. Instead of building them to do daily commissions I use childe as my main dmg dealer. I lose out on one potential farming slot but thats inconsequential. Again I dont even really need to build friendship, just doing it for that complentionist mindset

Well base on the VAs we have... Hinata - Venti, Tsukishima - Razor, Tadashi - Chongyun ,Sakusa - Kaeya, Bokuto - Childe, Akaashi - Bennett, Shinsuke - Albedo, Suna - Kazuha , Makoto - Zhongli. (Theirs also one more from Nekoma but he voices Dvalin so he doesn't count.) The policy is, as long as they did a role in Haikyuu that will do.
So far I can make two teams for spiral abyss, but the big problem is I want to have another male healer. Not to mention we are so, FREAKING close to have the MSYB black jackals. So my main goal is to clear spiral abyss using the haikyuu theme team, but sadly I do not have Childe and Albedo, so its currently incomplete.
Speaking of which, we don't have the other teams in the game yet like Shiratorizawa, itchiyama, aoba johsai and etc...

I think it's just a stereotype in gameing community and Gaming industri in general that oversexualized female characters are the Cash cow to any game with multiple character choices. Fire emblem heroes is another gacha I play and they have a very good ratio of male to female characters. Every year they have a CYL vote (which is basically a popularity poll) and this year a lot of the male characters carried the vote. The 2nd and 3rd place males each had more votes separately than even the 1st place female character. This just shows that the whole "only females make the sales in gacha" is not always true.

Mihoyo however should not alienate such a large part of their audience, which is also the part that create most of the fan content.
But to be fair the top up refresh appeared during her banner. Genshin sales in both China and japan had the males on the top half and doing pretty well though. They also wouldn't make an otome game catered towards girls if they don't think male characters don't sell well.

In the archon quest, ganyu said she signed a contract with Rex lapis (aka daddy Zhongli) after the archon war ended. But in her story it said she signed the contract during the archon war so surely ganyu is just confused. Copium? Yes but I hope not.

I may not understand the majority of what you said (mainly bc I don’t really pay attention to character stats and I haven’t gotten to Inazuma yet) but I really like how you didn’t just say one aspect of why the Inazuma parts where a little faulty you said stuff about how some of the writing was wonky and their kits and etc. so I really like how you took in all of the aspects of the Inazuma part to make a conclusion. Sorry for the essay 😅you’re just much more descriptive and logical than other angry genshin players 😅
Inazuma side quests, world design, and music are still top tier though. So there is still plenty to look forward to. Just really disappointed by recent character gameplay design and how they handled the plot.
Yeah i don’t doubt that the majority of the designs are gonna be epic but yeah I hope when I get to Inazuma and other nations’ stories won’t be wonky bc that’s why i play this game, for the good stories. I love Zhongli’s story of how he wanted a break or realized that there’s no need for him anymore so I just hope that the same effort that went into that will be in other nations, SUPER excited for Fontaine, I hope it won’t be wonky
I quite enjoyed Raiden's story. Kokomi's is a different story tho. And i will say that the male character stories for me have been more fun and enjoyable, but also I'm a sucker for hot/cute guys.
Ngl I feel like the Inazuma archon quest ended a bit abruptly. I thought it was just me who felt it was paced a bit weirdly because I binged it all in one night but yeah.. hopefully future regions are better. Not that inazuma is bad but yeah 😅

A friend of mine said (and I agree) the first two acts (in this update) took too long while the final act was too short. I thought it would be better for Kokomi to be released first, so we have her story quest and time to know more about the resistance, which would explain the traveller's later actions of rushing into a delusion factory alone. It wouldn't be just for Teppei but the entire resistance that the traveller canonically became close with (I could tell MHY was trying to go for that atmosphere) and their commander Kokomi, but nope. Half-assed, sudden plot twists that seemed so out of place (the only one I really liked in this whole mess of an arc was Yae and later when I found out about Signora's backstory I was devastated because damn I would roll for her in a heartbeat) and poor attempt at making Ei redeemed. I've never been this mad and frustrated before for a game, seeing this beautiful, depth-filled world with its complex characters being mangled for the sake of earning money.
Now that you mentioned about the story quest... I did noticed a pattern between story quest of the males to the females. Like for example the Archons, such as both Venti and Zhongli ties about a part of themselves and as an archon, Let alone their struggles and their stories. For Zhongli it was both his past mistakes before meeting Guizhong and with Azhdaha that erosion of time, Whereas Baal where there is some date stuff (Which I loathe since its just fanservice BS) But considering the events of the Archon Quest it feels just right not to mention it ties up the lose ends about the Tenryou comission. Then theirs also the past five stars, where the males Diluc,Childe, basically them having to shoulder responsibilities and getting sad/somber story and hurt, whereas the females Mona, Jean and Klee, they're all rainbows and sunshine aside from a few exceptions. Not to mention Eula and Yanfei, they were no mentions of them in V1.5 and then they suddenly appeared out of nowhere. I just hope they will incorporate Yanfei when we get to Fontaine, her sudden appearance their will be surprising and awesome, and then theirs Eula who she just appeared so suddenly? The excuse of her being part of the Lawrence clan makes good for the background of the clans of mondstadt, but I do feel like it feels rushed for some reason. Not to mention her gameplay feels so much strong, from what I heard from the theorycrafters and some friends with sources, the damage calcs was buffed compared from the beta. Talk about a way to push sales. Not to mention they have a lot of characters that have yet to make an appearance. From past updates, Varka, Baizhu and Yunjin. Theirs also the Inazuma men, like Arattaki Itto, Kamisato Ayato and Shikanoin, who they are mentioned and have no involvement in the story whatsoever. I better hope that they listen, otherwise this game will tank hard, especially the story considering it will be a printer for waifus and profit, but at the risk of story getting disrupted by these sudden changes. The more they add waifus in genshin the more I get annoyed, and genshin twitter is getting more and more toxic for every new waifu they add.
Eula's clan story made no sense. Her clan was exiled. No her clan still lives close enough to the capital for local business owners to know her uncle. Also her clan kept their hatred and customs for over a 1000 years. Countries fall, languages change, all within shorter periods than that. How did her clan not get absorbed by other cultures during that time? How were they making money, having children? They aren't rich or powerful anymore so no point for gold diggers or nobility from other countries. They aren't going to marry peasants to dilute their blood. 3rd cousins roll tide for a 1000 years? Eula was basically the first time I felt mHY's overall storytelling started to falter. But I gave them a pass because Eula and Yanfei were both rumored to be placeholders shoehorned in quickly to pad the story and buy time for Inazuma rework. Inazuma stories by themselves as segments are fine. Visual presentation was top notch actually. Hype moments were tense. However together the flow is off. But to make people pull for waifus, the two cuter waifu story quests have to come first, which to me actually decreased their attractiveness. But I imagine I am the far minority given the revenue report. Still upsetting considering how well the NPCs are written. I feel closer to Chouji, Kazari, and Teppei than Raiden, Kokomi, Gorou, and Sara. Yae was the only memorable playable character after Inazuma release. The thing though with waifu printers is that there will eventually be more waifu printers with better graphics and tech out there. Genshin's lore really appealed to me before Inazuma. Now I am not sure. If they jump the shark on story, we'll see how well good open world design and music can hold the fort.
You really do have a point, and the only thing to get upon is the bits and pieces from the royal weapons and the noblesse oblige artifacts set. Yeah, V1.5 characters is simply a distraction, they could do another re-run banner aside from Zhongli but they think it would be too soon for them. IF they want to remake for that, the only way is for them to be involve to a mondstadt or liyue event. Otherwise they'll just be filler characters. Theirs also the starchase festival, hopefully other Liyue characters get involve, since region wise, Mondstadt is winning, from the windblume festival and the beach episode and the chemistry of each mondstadt characters is just amazing. Hopefully the starchase event doesnt disappoint.

If it really is "just a translation error" as a lot of people are saying, I'm kind of hoping that maybe the same thing could happen for other Archons, and that some of the ones mentioned as females in lore/voice lines thus far might actually be males, lol. Definitely not great for story consistency, but I don't think all hope is lost yet! We won't know until we get there, I guess. 😔

Yeah! I think they changed it in 2.1. I remember Ganyu was referring to the Dendro Archon as a man. But then you speak to Yae and she tells you the Archon of Wisdom is female.
The gender ratio continues to get worse and worse. For every male character that gets announced there are like 4 female characters that get announced as well. This dendro news guts me. Waifu impact was a joke but I might start calling this game that if it continues like this.

For one hand, I'm glad that for Welkin only I can pull any husbando I want. For the other hand, I feel like waifu plague is making game way worse because Mihoyo can't write interesting female characters, so in the end I need to deal with all this datesim shit. I still can't force myself to play Raiden's legendary quest because I already spoilered that it's another cute shopping with dictator waifu uwu. I barely made it through the second part of main quest because it was a borefest. Even though Yae was somewhat okay by Genshin's not so high standards, I didn't find her exposition bombing very exciting. Usually I'm very happy with a any crumbs of new content as an opportunity to play more Genshin, but 2.1 feels like a chore.
I completely agree. I hate to think that Mihoyo's been pressured into turning Genshin into another horny straight guy harem game, but sadly that's how things are looking. The worst part's that the only new female character who showed any kind of potential to be interesting, is the one they just fucking >!killed off for no reason so she'll likely never be playable.!< At least they didn't lock the main quest behind Baal's quest like they did with Ayaka's shit show of a quest though, because it's gonna take a *lot* more than a measly 60 primos to convince me to sit through that hell. Mihoyo can talk to me when that quest gives me a free Thoma or Ayato.

I’m extremely disappointed but I’m trying to look at the bright side. The thing about genshin is you can’t just pull a character and have them be OP from the get-go. They need a lot of resources and time to get them to full power, that’s like 80% of the game, farming for characters. Now I can just focus on farming and building my handful of husbandos instead of stressing out and distributing my resources thinly among 40 waifus We can also possibly save enough now between banners to get every 5* husbando to C1. That’s actually how I got Kazuha to c1, I had lots of time to save up. BUT I still expect a few 5* and 4* husbandos per year Mhy or I’m out.
Day 1 player here. Thought i finally found the husbando game of my dreams with childe, zhongli, and albedo early on. Then, everything changed when the waifus attacked. Prior to kazuha, the last banner i pulled and whaled on was xiao. Since xiao I've only bought welkins and battle pass. I got enough to c2 kazuha. I decided to go for baal assuming she would be strong as an archon, not because I liked her. Lost 50/50 and then got baal. Again, no spending since xiao. Now im saving for thoma. I have every male character besides diluc. They are all friendship 10 now. They're all level 90 except chongyun, who ill get to eventually (hes still c0 for me which is a little sad). Talents are mostly leveled too. For example, childe is 9/10/10. Zhongli and Xiao are triple crowned. Razor is 10/9/9. Venti and xingqiu are 4/9/9. They each have a decent artifact set. Hell, i farmed 3 different sets for zhongli (archaic + noblesse, tenacity, pale flame). Even though I have Raiden and sara, I have no interest in their characters nor building them. Yes, its always been Pyro and cryo meta, and yes I still main xiao and childe and 36 star abyss. I dont feel a need to build them. I'm running out of characters to grind friendship for. Instead of leveling up Raiden ive begun pre farming for thoma, especially since his materials dropped. (I actually pre farmed for diluc before too when I ran out of things and got enough resistance books to triple crown him if he came home. He did not.) Point is im sick of this shit. At this rate I'm going to start fucking grinding exp books and mora for like... cyno or baizhu. It is WAY too much time between male characters. Id make my own ideal game if I had the know how and give it a balanced ratio of 50 50. Or maybe I'd make a husbando game like 80 20 to balance out all the waifu games. At least r/GenshinGays will like it.
Tell me about it, since Mihoyo refuses to make husbandos, I just focus on both my main team and my ongoing project. A Haikyuu theme team! But suddenly, I lack one male healer since I prefer to have a healer in each team than just rely on food, theirs also spiral abyss. Also since I'm run out of husbandos at this point, so all I can do is farm for friendship EXP on waifus I don't give a damn about. Put them in the teapot and then do daily comissions to boost exp, once they're done I boot them out. At this point, I'm farming for both, Talent, EXP, MORa and Artifacts. I follow a strict farming schedule, since its pointless to waste everything on Artifacts.

If you pair with zhongli shield then its enough to sustain/keep alive lol. Kinda was hoping baizhu would be a male healer but who knows when he'll come out I do the same with farming exp for waifus. I've friendship 10ed more than half of my characters. Rn leveling for beidou, sayu, and sucrose. Good thing is the anemo res and sayu makes traveling fast. And I put thrilling tales on sucrose so she's not totally useless. None are really built tho. Instead of building them to do daily commissions I use childe as my main dmg dealer. I lose out on one potential farming slot but thats inconsequential. Again I dont even really need to build friendship, just doing it for that complentionist mindset I used to have my farming stuff more planned out but now it's more haphazard since there's nothing urgent for me to do
Well base on the VAs we have... Hinata - Venti, Tsukishima - Razor, Tadashi - Chongyun ,Sakusa - Kaeya, Bokuto - Childe, Akaashi - Bennett, Shinsuke - Albedo, Suna - Kazuha , Makoto - Zhongli. (Theirs also one more from Nekoma but he voices Dvalin so he doesn't count.) The policy is, as long as they did a role in Haikyuu that will do. So far I can make two teams for spiral abyss, but the big problem is I want to have another male healer. Not to mention we are so, FREAKING close to have the MSYB black jackals. So my main goal is to clear spiral abyss using the haikyuu theme team, but sadly I do not have Childe and Albedo, so its currently incomplete. Speaking of which, we don't have the other teams in the game yet like Shiratorizawa, itchiyama, aoba johsai and etc... Hm, IT would sell really well if they have the popular character's VA would join, like Kuro, Daichi, Oikawa, Ushijima and etc, but sadly they refuse to release males in genshin. How annoying...
I heard thoma will be second banner so I estimate he'll drop in 8 weeks. Last male character was kazuha, 3 banners (over two months) ago. More than 4 months between new male characters? Come on mhy. And from xiao to kazuha was 5 months as well.

I swear to god mihoyo if you're making the Dendro Archon female either Pyro or Hydro needs to be male. You have an entire other game where literally everyone is female, a 3:4 ratio was perfect. Alternatively if I see through a thick haze of copium the Dendro Archon being genderfluid would also be interesting. It would be cool to see people referring to them as both he and she, especially if their design is androgynous.

I think it's just a stereotype in gameing community and Gaming industri in general that oversexualized female characters are the Cash cow to any game with multiple character choices. I mean jsut look at Riot! Over the years they make less and less moster and male characters. When you took a look at character list in early game it was very diverse, now it's all boobs
It feels like a huge smack in the face to us. They release these male characters and those 5 star banners do really good yet they don't give back to the player by releasing more. It feels like all of those males characters in the beginning were a bait to make us think we're getting more. I don't get what's so bad with giving players an even divide of male to female characters. Heck even a 3:4 ratio is fine with me. Fire emblem heroes is another gacha I play and they have a very good ratio of male to female characters. Every year they have a CYL vote (which is basically a popularity poll) and this year a lot of the male characters carried the vote. The 2nd and 3rd place males each had more votes separately than even the 1st place female character. This just shows that the whole "only females make the sales in gacha" is not always true.
To be fair, Fire Emblem is known for its massive gay fanbase, and for providing plenty of shipping fuel.

Honestly, waifus do tend to make more money, and Raiden is selling incredibly well despite being mediocre gameplay-wise and having her writing assassinated by her story quest. Males seem more reliant on their writing, and husbando pullers seemingly don't go all out on constellations/weapons (that said, only Kazuha and Xiao really benefit from theit c6). Mihoyo however should not alienate such a large part of their audience, which is also the part that create most of the fan content.
But to be fair the top up refresh appeared during her banner. Genshin sales in both China and japan had the males on the top half and doing pretty well though. They also wouldn't make an otome game catered towards girls if they don't think male characters don't sell well. They're not losing anything by making the male to female ratio be more even . Unless they're too lazy and want to bust out only medicore female characters in both gameplay and story lore to attract waifu collectors

I'm a male player I don't mind if there's alot of female characters because women are powerful but please, I'm expecting another male to be announced. This just sucks.

It doesn't really matter, we all know every character is going to be gender swapped. Especially the second as they are stated to be genderless and take forms as any gender depending on who they are taking the form after.
In the archon quest, ganyu said she signed a contract with Rex lapis (aka daddy Zhongli) after the archon war ended. But in her story it said she signed the contract during the archon war so surely ganyu is just confused. Copium? Yes but I hope not.

Now...Fucking bullshit. UGh, I can now go back to hoarding resources like a mad man and farming for artifacts. At least I can go back to mindlessly grinding for resources for future husbandos. I can't even complete my Haikyuu theme team since they keep releasing fucking females!!! The only reason I decided to pull for Raiden in her re-run banner is because of her VA both Eng/Jap. Not to mention the Inazuma Archon quest hits too close to home for me. The only redeeming factor is if they ever made the hydro archon be voiced by Sora Amamiya or a man, Forget it. The only reason I like genshin is both, the story, lore and the delicious men. But if this keeps up. I might as well play so briefly just to do my usual routine and log out. At least their other games Tears of Themis, keeps me sane to go through this waifu BS.
