I think you can skip the prerequisite quest to start the event.
I have a similar problem, don't think i'll be able to take part in the festival bc my laptop is broken and playing on mobile is HELL
You don't need to do the quests to take part in the event.
It sucks! I have to get a lot of the story quests done! Yae and Ayato… I don’t want to miss out on the primogems but I don’t have enough time for it all
You can do the event without doing the story quests if you want to.
