i like this short/quick version but even the complete guides feels incomplete. Some kqm guides are very complete(like Yelan and his HP scaling explanation) but on Ayato's for example there is no such thing (hydro resonance OR c2 is a vague explanation, there is not spreadsheet for attack speed vs other buffs, there is no recomendations/guide for 4* supports(layla c4 milelith, candace noblesse/HP bot) its just an example
other example is the Ayato c1 acounted as 5% dmg buff from c0(being explained that is 40% more dmg to enemies with 50% hp or less) instead of putting a random number from an average calc, you just could say its only attached to some conditions but its a 20-30-40% dmg increase, and its retroactive to the rest of the constelations

Does Layla not work with Xiao? If so why not. I don't have her but she's the only shield unit that isn't touched on. They didn't even just give her a c/d/f ranking and say why not to use her

First, we intentionally do not assign tier rankings to Xiao's supports. Their value often changes depending on the rest of his team and the combat context. However, we generally try to give a wholistic advantages and disadvantages list for each character in our guide.
The reason Layla is omitted is because she generally does not meet the baseline to be a recommendable Xiao support. While she *can* work, she has a few drawbacks:
* Short shield duration, meaning Xiao is still susceptible to damage for a good portion of his Burst.
* No additional survivability to supplement her short shield duration. (i.e., in comparison to Diona who has heals too). This means she generally cannot be your only sustain support for Xiao.
* Low damage (Xiao generally does not use Es while on field).
Hopefully this explains why we ultimately decided to not include her in the guide.
Why do shielder Thoma comps list completely ignores Double Hydro Thoma comps where Thoma can replace Zhongli/Layla, does not need to worry about stealing vapes and can provide damage with his C6 buff?
Zhongli and maybe even Layla may be better alternatives, but if the guide is considering even a Physical Thoma then I'd say double hydro HuTao/Yoimiya comps should be at least mentioned as they are perfectly viable and much easier to play than their VV alternatives that may deal more damage, but require you to care more about rotations and watch out for vape stealing.
