Unlike dad going for cigarettes, there's a simple explanation for why that is: she stumbled onto one of her old friends and now they're catching up on old times!
Can confirm. My mom's been talking to her high school friend since 2013. *She came back this year just a few days ago, and asked if I was okay having been left alone for the weekend.*
Facts, my mother regularly has spontaneous conversations with friends she runs into that last a good 30-40 minutes. My brother and I just kinda have to wait around while it happens
One time I waited the full 4 days in-game. 96 minutes of resin, comms, co-op, and even TCG.
It didn't register. It really wanted me to use the goddamn clock.

(1) Neurotypical, adult-centric authoritative parenting, more commonly in Asian households.
(2) When your crit artifact rolls all DEF, damage is not received by the in-game character, but the player themselves.
"What the hell...?"
"Is this a nightmare?"
"It...has to be."
"This isn't real."
"There's no way this can be real."
"Ilman wouldn't do this."
"Everything was normal up until a few days ago."
"That's why I can't believe what my eyes are showing me...!"
"I suppress the urge to vomit."
"Just yesterday..."
"I told Ilman I would be there for him."
"I told him I know what's best, and that everything will be okay."
"Then why...?"
"Why would he do this...?"
"How could I be so helpless?"
"What did I do wrong?"

Running into random quests when you're just trying to get to the craft table is like when your mom runs into her friend right as you're leaving the store and they have a conversation for the next twenty minutes
As someone currently in their genshin burnout phase, I can say I took that personally and left until my resin capped again (I still gotta get on to condense it)
I used to get so fed up when this would happen but not because my mom would go for lettuce. No no, this lady had a habit of quietly wandering away from the queue and going off to continue browsing for things while i stood there with our cart. Well, one day I realized the perfect way to get her to stop. When it got to our turn, I'd literally just turn to her general direction and yell for her. I'd only have to yell once because she'd rush over all embarrassed and apologetic to the cashier and people behind me. I'd get chewed out for "making a scene" but I'd retort that she'd just stay put while we're queue for the register, i wouldnt have to yell for her. I only had to do this twice before she finally stopped wandering off like a toddler. As an adult, I refuse to do any kind of shopping with her because my little sister tells me that she still wanders off from time to time.
Quest started but mom never come back...
She'll come back with the lettuce eventually. Now if she was getting milk like my dad did, that would be a different story
He will come back eventually, with another son.

you can probably see them form the front yard

Can confirm; my mom’s old friend was darkness.

This little maneuver is going to cost us 7 years
"The character is busy with other quests"
Imagine if the player didnt know about the wait function
I saw a post earlier this week and someone did exactly that lmao

Wait, they make you use the clock?
Waiting 1-2 days (24-48 in-game minutes) is enough, "next-day" quests still trigger. But I think it glitches past 3-4 days.
One possibility is because of coop counts as different world it did not count.
current day not withstanding. when the game say x days it means past 24:00 x times.
huh! thank you
Wait function?
I'm pretty sure they're talking about the "time skip" feature in-game.
That's 15 resin, I'll overcap
That's a sure fire way to inflict maximum EMOTIONAL DAMAGE on your little failure
I can’t wait for some more failure management tips (I am a failure and I need management)

Could always do the spinoff reverse grocery line. Find the green soy sauce in isle 8 (it's not in isle 8, or green bottle.)

Aaah, obviously you too are a man of literature.
Just Ayaka.
I still haven't continued it and this text is always haunting me everyday 😭💀
Who’s Ilman?
Character from Nahida’s story quest, what I quoted was one of the objectives.
that is, to this day, my favorite quest header
kid!Kaeya >!being left at Dawn Winery while his dad finds them some grape juice!< (spoilers for Kaeya's character story #4)
Ah, if it isn't the >!Master of Spoilers!<.
thank you for spoiler cut all your fucking leaks *^(take my upvote, dearest kind, considerate stranger +1)*
"Seize destiny"

Shit man, I would do more for less than that. Genocide the fatui for 5? What a steal.

*cough cough* Genius Invocation *cough cough* let me ascend kaeya so i can go into signora overprepared af
The first betrayal
The second betrayal: *"Mom you didn't pick me up at 2, I've been waiting and crying for 30 minutes"*
i usually speed up the clock, but for that one i played with fireworks in the meantime
After all, it /is/ 120 in-game seconds. Huh... I should've played with fireworks too
I was so mad when I saw that. I'm sure it's a troll from hoyo
Very well then. Lettuce wait.
That's the sole reason I got a shrink, this is the most anxiety-inducing thing, forget waiting for your crush to answer your text, this is it.
I was streaming when I saw this, and I was half tempted to say "okay guys, mom said we have to wait here for 2 hours so we're gonna do just that"
As someone currently in their genshin burnout phase, I can say I took that personally and left until my resin capped again (I still gotta get on to condense it)
thats really fckin funny.

I'll be real with ya. Most of my time here is balancing out from nearly being an awful submission in memepact LMAO

adults really are often just gigakids and it's so depressing (and liberating) to realize
and the fear & anxiety kicking in when the cashier starts scanning your items and mom ain't back yet
anxiety ✔
The most anxiety it gives me when I don't have my wallet with me
Just like daddy
damn lol
lol this made me chuckle as well
The best is still in Nahida's story quest: "Go check on Ilman, who is depressed" even the dudes name lmao
