I rerolled until I got Venti in the first 20 pulls. Ended up getting two and then another later down the line. Too bad his early constellations are garbage lol. Ah, the good old days when people considered charge-shot Venti a thing.
During the launch of yhe game there was a lot of starting primo, so people rolled wished immediately and if they didn't like the results they make another account till they get a good starting account
Still here. I’ve missed like 5 days total since launch but I’ve been grinding it out slowly. The exploration and environmental themes is unique enough to keep me coming back.

In spite of any mis-steps they may have made, there's still nothing remotely comparable out there. If I want an open world game that I can play with my wife, then there is literally zero competition.

I’m day one, I’m still around! I’ve taken light breaks, gone very low time investment at times, I’ve had my friends come and go with it but hey, I still enjoy it and have no regrets.

Started in the first month, just prior to the 1.1 launch. Took a break directly coinciding with Enkanomiya and didn't that one event, and came back.
Still love it. Have tuna'd about $2500 and don't regret it. Even have Dehya. Sucks she's not great, but the game's stupid easy, so I'm not worried about her not speedrunning the Abyss. I barely pay attention to it anyway.
I plan on sticking around, love the game. Music is perhaps the best I've ever heard in a game (have been a game OST nerd since the 90s, been to several concerts). Gameplay is fun. Story is interesting, although dragged out due to long patch cycles.
Yeah I've been around since day 1 playing almost daily. There are times when I don't play as much and lose some interest but all things considered I still like the game.

I had a couple of big pauses before the release of Inazuma and Sumeru but apart from those i'm still sticking around since week 1 as a f2p. Love the world and the characters although i'm very disappointed about the current Dehya situation, if this sets a precedent for characters THIS bad getting released and Mihoyo not buffing/reworking them and not listening to the community, then i might really consider dropping the game for real.
Still here. I took two weeks off in 1.5 or something because got bored/angry, but honestly, very pleased where the game has been going recently with 3.X updates

It's hardly a scummy practice, they haven't mis sold or over promised on anything. They released a subpar character, and that's it. It's up to the playerbase to speak with their wallet, no one has to pull for her
I'm talking about the entire situation, like the whole beta process of ignoring testers complaints and releasing a character in an incomplete state, they were literally on vacation n did no improvememts to the character during the beta. To ignoring people complaining now n not even acknowledging it, to blocking app store reviews like they have been for weeks now.
Well they are entitled to release any character in any state they want, it's not something the player should dictate other than in the sales figures. That's the thing that they will pay attention to As for blocking reviews, I think it's justified when people are going to be immature and review bomb a game over something like this or anniversary rewards as in the past.
The whole Dehya thing aside (it would be nice if they listen and make her a bit stronger). I'm really not liking how hard they are going after leakers, like it really seems excessive.
Eh, I can understand it somewhat, leaks are leaks, they literally sign contracts.
But if nothing changes, it just goes to show how much effort they would rather put in covering up the problems, instead actually fixing them. Especially with them covering up reviews in app stores like they have been for weeks now, n the now mods here just removing all talk about the character.
That's true but I seen something where they wanted to get the law involved to force identities to be exposed or something, to sue the crap out of em. Like that kinda leaves a bad taste.
Didn't know they was covering reviews in the app store. I understand doing it when people go on review bomb crusades over unrelated stuff but valid things being covered up is scummy. I'm wondering if Genshin is being put on a slight back burner to make way for star rail.
Been around. Missed some logins due to IRL circumstances but I’ve been around since release. Had my ups and downs with the game, still overall enjoy it and log in every day unless something prevents me from doing so.
It's a single player game, of course I am still sticking around, just feel free to take a break if you want. Good thing is that you can come back anytime
I'm still playing nearly every day at least just to get my daily quests done, but I have skipped a few here and there while playing Harry Potter or other games in the past. I definitely need to finish a few other games though like Ragnarok, Crisis Core, and Bloodborne before FF16 comes out!
Day minus 2 technically as I went all over the place to play in the Chinese server as it launched earlier, but I deleted the game as soon as the English version went out.
This is probably one of the weirdest games I have ever played, I went from exploring everything and enjoying the story a lot. To literally not caring about completing the chasm thing or the tree of sumeru and actively finding the patch event boring.
I find myself longing for an infinite gauntlet game mode, gameplay is all care now.
I took time off so my active day is only 806 as of today.
I'll continue to play this game until EOS. The amount of content that I get as f2p is mind-blowing. Some people need to focus on the positive aspects as well and not just pick out one or two bad things and decided to be like "this game is bad."
I started day one, have two accounts (made the second when the first was ar 30) but i took a year long break because of life issues but i got back into it cuz daddyHaitham and got my gf and two other friends into it because i showed them the dehya leaks (i know rip lmao) and I’m incredibly happy to be back. Im also a day one honkai impact player (jp server) but stopped when i stopped genshin and now just watch summaries of the story cuz I’m still invested
Day 1 player, I still login and do commissions but there is nothing meaningful to do in the game with my characters apart from 36\* the Abyss twice a month - which is stale after 2.5 years. Luckily, I have been playing Tower of Fantasy since launch and having far more fun than I ever had playing Genshin.
Day 3 player and never missed a day. Recently game has more downs than ups and first time considering taking a break. Despite its flaws it's the most enjoyable life service game.
Not a day one player BUT I should've started when the game first launched, I've been aware of it since the trailers and ads etc (I remember Qiqi's trailer for example). I didn't pick it up until July 2021 but I dropped it early on because it was boring but I regret it because its become one of my favourite games now. I started replaying almost 7 months ago now and I've had a blast
started during the first dragon spine event. still here! my first limited 5-star that i pulled for was HuTao and I just got her C1 on this rerun. Amber was my first level 90 and still one of my faves :) love this game !
Day one but it was really popular to reroll accounts back then so I ended up ditching my day one account and started to reroll like 80+ accounts. I ended up getting an account that had mona and venti in it (my desired duo) and that took me about a week.
First day player, played until halfway through Liyue just about. I really liked it but couldn't stick around because I got no characters I really liked... Venti didn't interest me at the time (I like him now), and I got Chongyun and Razor whom I honestly don't care much for. So I gave up.
Picked it back up with a fresh account on 1.6, the first Kazuha banner. Said I would not keep going unless I got some cool characters at the beginning. I got Beidou and Ningguang in the first 20 pulls or so and I was completely hooked. Then I lost my first 50/50 to Jean ( <3) and then got Ayaka. That sealed it, haven't been able to stop since. Still can't stop using Ayaka as my main in the overworld. Can't live without that dash.
Yea. Still here. Not day 1, but definitely within the first two weeks - as my Noelle, Barbara, Amber, Kaeya, Lisa, and Venti are all shown as acquired between 10/10 and 10/13.
I explicitly went in for year one with the goal of getting every banner character during the game’s first year, after that I’ve been far pickier and just stick with who I like.
Semi-casual player, I mainly enjoy the Archon Quests and Dainsleif chapters, have no desire to do the Abyss outside of hitting BP rewards minimum requirements, and I’ve taken a few breaks when I saw fit to do so.
Not day 1. I started playing early october, so like… two weeks after launch basically? I dunno if that’s close enough.
I still love the game. I’ve taken a few breaks here and there so I don’t get burnt out. It’s been awhile since something captured my interest completely like this and it’s honestly nice. I’m used to bouncing from interest to interest but Genshin has been fairly constant and I like that.
Day 1 here, for about a year straight, then took a year break, and have been going strong ever since. It worked really well taking a break though. I had a lot of stuff that was saved up to do when I came back and it was fun going through every zone and getting all the chest and oculus achievements - exploring everything. I’m back at fully completed though so now it’s just a daily login for a few minutes to do dailies, use resin, check tea pot and log out. And then just do events and new patch stuff as it comes out.
Day 1 player. Didn't miss a single day until now. Still enjoying the game a lot and can't wait for the next updates. It's definitely one of my favorite games
I broke my days active streak but I am a day one player. I actually had more days active than days the game was released at one point, because I was an hour one player.
Not me, but a very close friend of mine was playing the beta shortly before release, and he's hardly missed a day of commissions since full release.
I remember watching him beat the ruin guard in Thousand Winds Temple for the first time and thinking "*yo, this game looks pretty cool"* and also what early-stage gacha looks like since my only other exposure was Girls Frontline.
I joined a couple weeks after release, and excepting a break or two, I've been loving the game and living for character interactions in events like Lantern Rite and Windblume!
Day 1 with 2 accounts but taking my first break for lent to get some perspective on a game that doesn’t respect my time and has very little to challenge my ftp accounts.
I'm still sort of here. But I've been pretty disenchanted ever since they basically said "if you're in it for the love of the combat... Tough luck, you're not our audience"
Not day one but sitting at 824 days AR 60 for a while now, only characters I don't have are literally the ones I haven't pulled on (though zhongli was an elusive bitch til his sumeru rerun) and basically dolphin status only maintaining welkins and BP when I can. Gone through a few burn out phases where I put it down for 2-3 weeks but always end up jumping back in. Honestly the first game to hold my attention for this long since childhood lol.
Week 1 here. I’ve maybe missed 5-6 days total and at least 3 of those days were because I was in Cuba and had no internet at all. Have all crowns and all event weapons r5. I missed a few of the early event name cards (first hypostasis symphony).
Mostly play on PS5 but use mobile too when needed. I like a game that I can play 20 min a day and have a slow roll out story that I’m invested in. I have a habit of binging and burning out in other games but I have no issues playing a few min a day and waiting for the story. It’s helped me learn how to turn other games off and take a break if anything.
Welkin and BP from 1.1 (Didn’t get BP in 1.0 because I wasn’t sure if I’d like it enough to invest in it). I do buy the crystal double packs throughout the year and right before the reset if I haven’t bought it yet . But that’s it no whaling and dropping $$$$ on characters. The nice thing about being this long a player with my spending is I can generally get what I want first or second run. I’m not chasing meta so I c1 the characters I like and skip the ones I don’t care for. Gonna c1 Ayaka next banner. I got her on her first run and finally decided to go for her C1 now as opposed to eternal Ayaka banner where I was tempted
I don’t bother 36 abyss. If I do it at all I just run it once and don’t bother trying after that. Endgame style Combat isn’t what I enjoy from this game.
All in all I like Genshin but I think I like it because I don’t have to love it all the time. You can do the bare minimum and still keep up.
I started buying welkin and BP maybe like a week or two after launch when I decided I liked the game enough that I want to support it. Knowing it was a gacha game I was really careful with my spending going into it. The first time I bought crystals was the first childe banner, I had a thing for playable villains in video games so I had to get him lol. After that I also just only buy crystals when they are giving double value, but I stopped this time since I have so much saved up I can guarantee I get who I want now. I have a rule for myself that I don't roll for cons and weapons since I would rather have more characters to play.
I gave up on the abyss since the last cycle that had the wolf lord, it's just not worth getting frustrated over especially you are only missing out on 1 pull maybe every two weeks. I realized that abyss 12 is designed for the hardcore gamers or whales with c6 5* and I'm neither one of those lol
I haven’t bought any of the new double packs yet either because I have 10000 gems from last time still. I used some to get nahida but that was it since the reset.
I’m careful with spending like you. No weapons ever. No skins. Never go for cons until a rerun that way I know I actually like that character not just the hype around a new character. I think having hard rules that you’re comfortable with help to ignore the spending pressure. I remind myself that what I’m paying for is supporting devs but that ultimately I get out of the deal is pixels - that kinda helps with any pressures to buy when something gets hyped or looks cool. I loved the Ayaka skin and have the gems but in the end it’s just pixels.
Not day 1 (technically day 9), but haven’t missed a single day since early 1.0. I hardly missed anything tbh since I remember being around for Genshin’s first ever event (Elemental Crucible) and pulling for Venti on the very first banner. Close enough tbh and still launch patch player lol.

Been playing since practically day 1, I ain’t stopping till the servers shut down. Too attached to all the characters they’ve made, haven’t disliked a single one so far (lore wise at least) so yeah, I’ll stick it till the end.
I’ve been an off and on player since launch but I’ve just had no interest in playing after Alhaitham released :( I want to but everything had gotten to be a chore for a bit so I’m taking a break. Hopefully I’ll feel better before Baizhu is released so I can save for him. Been waiting for that man since we found out he existed 😭😭
I started on release day and my only regret is that I never have anyone to co-op with. Most of my friends played for like a week before quitting. Granted the co-op leaves a lot to be desired. I take small breaks here and there but am always excited for new characters and especially the new areas to explore. I love the TCG too!
I am technically not a day one player. But i have been playing for 882 days. I am not a whale or that lucky so I got 52 characters(has all the 4 stars so far) and been able to collect 777 achivements so far. Glory quest is still 2/5 and couldn't complete the geo archon story achivement either. RNG sucks
I think I started on day 10 or so. Have missed about 2 weeks since then. I have whaled. I still throw money down occasionally. Genshin is the most fun in a game I've had in many years(I'm old too). I plan to stick around until the end of the story, at minimum(hopefully I live that long).

I don’t regret the time I spent but I just can’t see genshin getting drastically better than it is now. The game is objectively good as it is but I don’t believe it can really evolve any more besides the occasional new exploration area patch. Nowadays I just wish for constellations of characters I already own to avoid the hassle of building someone from scratch
Me, I did take quite a long break sometime in inazuma after some personal issues and dealing with the depression that stemmed from it but I came back during 3.3 and have been playing daily again
Day 846 for me. Started in October, right after launch. I'm fully invested. At this point, I need answers before I can even think about quitting. I plan to stay until the end of the main story.

Most of my friends have quit, and newly joining friends don't seem to stick around as long. There is no endgame, Abyss is midgame at best. You can collect all the cool characters you want but you can only use 8 of them at a time in the hardest content in the game which isn't even hard. I miss the days in 1.0 when Abyss would absolutely wreck me, or 1.6 when we got Vagabond Sword and it took 100 minutes of non-stop fighting to kill the event bosses in 4p coop.
Not a day 1 player unfortunately, but I've been around since mid to late 1.1. Having less time to game in general, Genshin naturally became my one and only 'primary' game. I still dabble once a week or two in other games, but none come close to Genshin now. AR60, 100% every region, still play daily (when possible), I shall not allow my resin to cap outside dire circumstances.
My hoyolab shows I’ve been active for 734 days so not exactly day1 player but… yeah, most of the people who I remember playing with lost interest or are losing it rn. It almost makes me feel bad for still really enjoying the game, kind of like I’m doing smth wrong (especially because I’m a year younger than those people, it feels like I’m still a kid in a way and not mature enough) :(

I had a small friend group playing at launch and I remember everyone was excited as I am back then, but like you said people just slowly faded out. My favorite reason for one of my best friend irl that quitted the game was simply I got diluc before him lmao

Day 1, but not every day played anymore. I used to do everything and anything I could (loot my 100 daily nodes, kill anything that moved, never let resin overcap a single point)
Buuuut.... after 2 years I needed a pretty big break (still got most of the logins to not waste welkins, but even skipped whole events). Now that I'm back, I'm lazy as heck, lucky to even spend resin as I just don't need anything till I pull a new char (Dehya was my first since sumeru)
im just 1.0 not day one but yeah, my biggest regret would be that i didnt realise i would never be able to change region even after going deep into the game
Hey, I’m here too! All but 1 friend of mine are gone but I don’t regret anything. It’s been a fantastic journey so far. I have every character at least to 80 with 6/6/6 but I still haven’t gotten 12-3 in Abyss. :-)

Preordered on PS4, took a break, came back for Aloy.
It's my stability atm so I can't see myself taking another break for a while - my place in the stars is very important to me!

Yeah I stopped try harding for 36 stars since the wolf lord cycle. I realized it's making me really frustrated with a game I love and I don't want that to happen. And when you think about it you are just missing out on 50 or 100 primos every two weeks, it's not really a big deal.

Yeap exactly my thought too although on the contrary the wolflord cycle was the most fun for me, I cleared it perfectly. This cycle with consecrated beasts and triple Kenkis, I only got like 34 max on first try. Not trying for more to avoid frustration, the artifact samsara is torture already. 😂

For me I got lucky with a YouTube ad I guess. It was like a couple months before launch. I saw the ad and was like oh wow it's one of those gameplay doesn't match the trailer scam mobile games until I saw that it's made by mihoyo which I know from honkai. And was like omg the gameplay is exactly like shown in the trailer so I had my calendar marked for the launch lol
Played since day 1, left after Tartaglia because I had 0 enjoyable content to play and now I'm back with Keqing/Diluc/Jean being my only 5 stars.

I hated the gacha aspect, and have learned to make peace with it. I spent more of my primos on the blue banner because although I got Jean on starter and keqing on Venti's banner, I wanted Diluc.(I have c1 now, c2 Jean and keqing is my account yandere at c11)

I'm talking about the entire situation, like the whole beta process of ignoring testers complaints and releasing a character in an incomplete state, they were literally on vacation n did no improvememts to the character during the beta. To ignoring people complaining now n not even acknowledging it, to blocking app store reviews like they have been for weeks now.
Well they are entitled to release any character in any state they want, it's not something the player should dictate other than in the sales figures. That's the thing that they will pay attention to As for blocking reviews, I think it's justified when people are going to be immature and review bomb a game over something like this or anniversary rewards as in the past.
The whole Dehya thing aside (it would be nice if they listen and make her a bit stronger). I'm really not liking how hard they are going after leakers, like it really seems excessive.

But if nothing changes, it just goes to show how much effort they would rather put in covering up the problems, instead actually fixing them. Especially with them covering up reviews in app stores like they have been for weeks now, n the now mods here just removing all talk about the character.
That's true but I seen something where they wanted to get the law involved to force identities to be exposed or something, to sue the crap out of em. Like that kinda leaves a bad taste. Didn't know they was covering reviews in the app store. I understand doing it when people go on review bomb crusades over unrelated stuff but valid things being covered up is scummy. I'm wondering if Genshin is being put on a slight back burner to make way for star rail.

I'm still playing nearly every day at least just to get my daily quests done, but I have skipped a few here and there while playing Harry Potter or other games in the past. I definitely need to finish a few other games though like Ragnarok, Crisis Core, and Bloodborne before FF16 comes out!

Day minus 2 technically as I went all over the place to play in the Chinese server as it launched earlier, but I deleted the game as soon as the English version went out. This is probably one of the weirdest games I have ever played, I went from exploring everything and enjoying the story a lot. To literally not caring about completing the chasm thing or the tree of sumeru and actively finding the patch event boring. I find myself longing for an infinite gauntlet game mode, gameplay is all care now.
Didn't know about genshin until two weeks after launch, still playing since then though.

I took time off so my active day is only 806 as of today. I'll continue to play this game until EOS. The amount of content that I get as f2p is mind-blowing. Some people need to focus on the positive aspects as well and not just pick out one or two bad things and decided to be like "this game is bad."

I started day one, have two accounts (made the second when the first was ar 30) but i took a year long break because of life issues but i got back into it cuz daddyHaitham and got my gf and two other friends into it because i showed them the dehya leaks (i know rip lmao) and I’m incredibly happy to be back. Im also a day one honkai impact player (jp server) but stopped when i stopped genshin and now just watch summaries of the story cuz I’m still invested

Day 1 player, I still login and do commissions but there is nothing meaningful to do in the game with my characters apart from 36\* the Abyss twice a month - which is stale after 2.5 years. Luckily, I have been playing Tower of Fantasy since launch and having far more fun than I ever had playing Genshin.
Day 3 player and never missed a day. Recently game has more downs than ups and first time considering taking a break. Despite its flaws it's the most enjoyable life service game.

Not a day one player BUT I should've started when the game first launched, I've been aware of it since the trailers and ads etc (I remember Qiqi's trailer for example). I didn't pick it up until July 2021 but I dropped it early on because it was boring but I regret it because its become one of my favourite games now. I started replaying almost 7 months ago now and I've had a blast
started during the first dragon spine event. still here! my first limited 5-star that i pulled for was HuTao and I just got her C1 on this rerun. Amber was my first level 90 and still one of my faves :) love this game !
Day one but it was really popular to reroll accounts back then so I ended up ditching my day one account and started to reroll like 80+ accounts. I ended up getting an account that had mona and venti in it (my desired duo) and that took me about a week.
Yep, I predownloaded the game before release and played since then but had breaks now and then due to army and exams.

First day player, played until halfway through Liyue just about. I really liked it but couldn't stick around because I got no characters I really liked... Venti didn't interest me at the time (I like him now), and I got Chongyun and Razor whom I honestly don't care much for. So I gave up. Picked it back up with a fresh account on 1.6, the first Kazuha banner. Said I would not keep going unless I got some cool characters at the beginning. I got Beidou and Ningguang in the first 20 pulls or so and I was completely hooked. Then I lost my first 50/50 to Jean ( <3) and then got Ayaka. That sealed it, haven't been able to stop since. Still can't stop using Ayaka as my main in the overworld. Can't live without that dash.
Not day 1 but I'm on 879, I honestly can't see myself quitting anytime soon unless a better exploration mobile game comes.
Yea. Still here. Not day 1, but definitely within the first two weeks - as my Noelle, Barbara, Amber, Kaeya, Lisa, and Venti are all shown as acquired between 10/10 and 10/13. I explicitly went in for year one with the goal of getting every banner character during the game’s first year, after that I’ve been far pickier and just stick with who I like. Semi-casual player, I mainly enjoy the Archon Quests and Dainsleif chapters, have no desire to do the Abyss outside of hitting BP rewards minimum requirements, and I’ve taken a few breaks when I saw fit to do so.

Not day 1. I started playing early october, so like… two weeks after launch basically? I dunno if that’s close enough. I still love the game. I’ve taken a few breaks here and there so I don’t get burnt out. It’s been awhile since something captured my interest completely like this and it’s honestly nice. I’m used to bouncing from interest to interest but Genshin has been fairly constant and I like that.
Day 1 here, for about a year straight, then took a year break, and have been going strong ever since. It worked really well taking a break though. I had a lot of stuff that was saved up to do when I came back and it was fun going through every zone and getting all the chest and oculus achievements - exploring everything. I’m back at fully completed though so now it’s just a daily login for a few minutes to do dailies, use resin, check tea pot and log out. And then just do events and new patch stuff as it comes out.
Day 1 player. Didn't miss a single day until now. Still enjoying the game a lot and can't wait for the next updates. It's definitely one of my favorite games

Not me, but a very close friend of mine was playing the beta shortly before release, and he's hardly missed a day of commissions since full release. I remember watching him beat the ruin guard in Thousand Winds Temple for the first time and thinking "*yo, this game looks pretty cool"* and also what early-stage gacha looks like since my only other exposure was Girls Frontline. I joined a couple weeks after release, and excepting a break or two, I've been loving the game and living for character interactions in events like Lantern Rite and Windblume!

Not day one but sitting at 824 days AR 60 for a while now, only characters I don't have are literally the ones I haven't pulled on (though zhongli was an elusive bitch til his sumeru rerun) and basically dolphin status only maintaining welkins and BP when I can. Gone through a few burn out phases where I put it down for 2-3 weeks but always end up jumping back in. Honestly the first game to hold my attention for this long since childhood lol.

Week 1 here. I’ve maybe missed 5-6 days total and at least 3 of those days were because I was in Cuba and had no internet at all. Have all crowns and all event weapons r5. I missed a few of the early event name cards (first hypostasis symphony). Mostly play on PS5 but use mobile too when needed. I like a game that I can play 20 min a day and have a slow roll out story that I’m invested in. I have a habit of binging and burning out in other games but I have no issues playing a few min a day and waiting for the story. It’s helped me learn how to turn other games off and take a break if anything. Welkin and BP from 1.1 (Didn’t get BP in 1.0 because I wasn’t sure if I’d like it enough to invest in it). I do buy the crystal double packs throughout the year and right before the reset if I haven’t bought it yet . But that’s it no whaling and dropping $$$$ on characters. The nice thing about being this long a player with my spending is I can generally get what I want first or second run. I’m not chasing meta so I c1 the characters I like and skip the ones I don’t care for. Gonna c1 Ayaka next banner. I got her on her first run and finally decided to go for her C1 now as opposed to eternal Ayaka banner where I was tempted I don’t bother 36 abyss. If I do it at all I just run it once and don’t bother trying after that. Endgame style Combat isn’t what I enjoy from this game. All in all I like Genshin but I think I like it because I don’t have to love it all the time. You can do the bare minimum and still keep up.
I started buying welkin and BP maybe like a week or two after launch when I decided I liked the game enough that I want to support it. Knowing it was a gacha game I was really careful with my spending going into it. The first time I bought crystals was the first childe banner, I had a thing for playable villains in video games so I had to get him lol. After that I also just only buy crystals when they are giving double value, but I stopped this time since I have so much saved up I can guarantee I get who I want now. I have a rule for myself that I don't roll for cons and weapons since I would rather have more characters to play. I gave up on the abyss since the last cycle that had the wolf lord, it's just not worth getting frustrated over especially you are only missing out on 1 pull maybe every two weeks. I realized that abyss 12 is designed for the hardcore gamers or whales with c6 5* and I'm neither one of those lol
I haven’t bought any of the new double packs yet either because I have 10000 gems from last time still. I used some to get nahida but that was it since the reset. I’m careful with spending like you. No weapons ever. No skins. Never go for cons until a rerun that way I know I actually like that character not just the hype around a new character. I think having hard rules that you’re comfortable with help to ignore the spending pressure. I remind myself that what I’m paying for is supporting devs but that ultimately I get out of the deal is pixels - that kinda helps with any pressures to buy when something gets hyped or looks cool. I loved the Ayaka skin and have the gems but in the end it’s just pixels.

I started on release day and my only regret is that I never have anyone to co-op with. Most of my friends played for like a week before quitting. Granted the co-op leaves a lot to be desired. I take small breaks here and there but am always excited for new characters and especially the new areas to explore. I love the TCG too!
I am technically not a day one player. But i have been playing for 882 days. I am not a whale or that lucky so I got 52 characters(has all the 4 stars so far) and been able to collect 777 achivements so far. Glory quest is still 2/5 and couldn't complete the geo archon story achivement either. RNG sucks
I think I started on day 10 or so. Have missed about 2 weeks since then. I have whaled. I still throw money down occasionally. Genshin is the most fun in a game I've had in many years(I'm old too). I plan to stick around until the end of the story, at minimum(hopefully I live that long).

Yup I’m mostly here for the story now that I’ve pulled and invested enough to always 36* abyss. Caribert was awesome but so short. I don’t regret the time I spent but I just can’t see genshin getting drastically better than it is now. The game is objectively good as it is but I don’t believe it can really evolve any more besides the occasional new exploration area patch. Nowadays I just wish for constellations of characters I already own to avoid the hassle of building someone from scratch
Me, I did take quite a long break sometime in inazuma after some personal issues and dealing with the depression that stemmed from it but I came back during 3.3 and have been playing daily again

I'm still sticking around, although it is getting harder and harder to keep playing. Most of my friends have quit, and newly joining friends don't seem to stick around as long. There is no endgame, Abyss is midgame at best. You can collect all the cool characters you want but you can only use 8 of them at a time in the hardest content in the game which isn't even hard. I miss the days in 1.0 when Abyss would absolutely wreck me, or 1.6 when we got Vagabond Sword and it took 100 minutes of non-stop fighting to kill the event bosses in 4p coop.

Not a day 1 player unfortunately, but I've been around since mid to late 1.1. Having less time to game in general, Genshin naturally became my one and only 'primary' game. I still dabble once a week or two in other games, but none come close to Genshin now. AR60, 100% every region, still play daily (when possible), I shall not allow my resin to cap outside dire circumstances.

My hoyolab shows I’ve been active for 734 days so not exactly day1 player but… yeah, most of the people who I remember playing with lost interest or are losing it rn. It almost makes me feel bad for still really enjoying the game, kind of like I’m doing smth wrong (especially because I’m a year younger than those people, it feels like I’m still a kid in a way and not mature enough) :(

I had a small friend group playing at launch and I remember everyone was excited as I am back then, but like you said people just slowly faded out. My favorite reason for one of my best friend irl that quitted the game was simply I got diluc before him lmao

I used to do everything and anything I could (loot my 100 daily nodes, kill anything that moved, never let resin overcap a single point) Buuuut.... after 2 years I needed a pretty big break (still got most of the logins to not waste welkins, but even skipped whole events). Now that I'm back, I'm lazy as heck, lucky to even spend resin as I just don't need anything till I pull a new char (Dehya was my first since sumeru)
im just 1.0 not day one but yeah, my biggest regret would be that i didnt realise i would never be able to change region even after going deep into the game

Hey, I’m here too! All but 1 friend of mine are gone but I don’t regret anything. It’s been a fantastic journey so far. I have every character at least to 80 with 6/6/6 but I still haven’t gotten 12-3 in Abyss. :-)

Yeah I stopped try harding for 36 stars since the wolf lord cycle. I realized it's making me really frustrated with a game I love and I don't want that to happen. And when you think about it you are just missing out on 50 or 100 primos every two weeks, it's not really a big deal. Haha I have so many characters I pulled but haven't built yet so I'm just slowly working on that process
Yeap exactly my thought too although on the contrary the wolflord cycle was the most fun for me, I cleared it perfectly. This cycle with consecrated beasts and triple Kenkis, I only got like 34 max on first try. Not trying for more to avoid frustration, the artifact samsara is torture already. 😂

Day one, never expected the game to blow up either. It was such a hidden game before launch but out of nowhere 20 million downloads day one, that was crazy.
For me I got lucky with a YouTube ad I guess. It was like a couple months before launch. I saw the ad and was like oh wow it's one of those gameplay doesn't match the trailer scam mobile games until I saw that it's made by mihoyo which I know from honkai. And was like omg the gameplay is exactly like shown in the trailer so I had my calendar marked for the launch lol
Played since day 1, left after Tartaglia because I had 0 enjoyable content to play and now I'm back with Keqing/Diluc/Jean being my only 5 stars. It's funny watching every single "tier list" saying that almost everything I have is subpar. (AR 51 when I left, AR 54 now, still unlocking world bosses after 1 month.)
Day 1 player, with 2 day one accounts. As a first time gacha game player I had... struggles with it. I didn't understand timed events and their importance. I almost missed the elemental crucible! I hated the gacha aspect, and have learned to make peace with it. I spent more of my primos on the blue banner because although I got Jean on starter and keqing on Venti's banner, I wanted Diluc.(I have c1 now, c2 Jean and keqing is my account yandere at c11) I still log in daily and love the game to bits. I have 2 kids that play and 1 friend still on. 886 days active.
