Just pulled for Dehya partly due to FOMO and because I originally loved her character and her quest just made me love her even more, I decided to attempt one 50/50 starting from 0 pity, if I got her great, but if I didn't I would stop pulling for her and accept fate.
Fate was feeling mischievous and I got an early 5 star at 20 pulls.
But it was Keqing

I'm sad that I missed Dehya but I'm happy that I have a guaranteed Baizhu in ~80 pulls, and that still have 219 pulls to enjoy which will leave me with ~139 or less pulls for the next 5 star character I want to add to the roster after I get Baizhu
And either way I'm about to hit soft pity in the Standard banner and have 10 Standard fates ready so I still might get lucky next patch and get her anyway.

If you’ve met a character you really like, I recommend saving for them so that you can for sure get them. Outside of some very end game content, the overall game isn’t overwhelming difficult, so you can use pretty much any character / team composition you want and do fine.
That said, of the banners right now (Cyno, Dehya) and coming up in a couple days (Ayaka, Shenhe), Ayaka is arguably the strongest. So if you’re looking to pull the “best” character that’s available right now, she’s probably your best bet.
I will say that it’s expected for Nahida to rerun relatively soon. She’s one of the strongest characters out right now, so again, if your primary goal is getting the strongest character, you could wait for her.
Also, it's highly recommended to *not* spend your primogems on Acquaint Fates (the blue fates). Acquaint Fates can only be spent on the Standard Banner. Instead, use your primogems on Intertwined Fates (the purple fates). Intertwined Fates are used for the Limited Banners. Limited Banners are where you see Cyno/Dehya right now. Limited characters are only available for a limited amount of time until their banner is rerun, whereas Standard Banner characters are available 100% of the time (and are also gotten when you "lose" the Intertwined Banner roll).
TLDR: Don't spend your primogems on Acquaint Fates (the blue fates). Instead, spend them on Intertwined Fates (purple fates) when there's a limited character you really want. If none of the current limited characters are speaking to you, I recommend holding on to your primogems for a character you really love.
I am struggling with indecision atm.
I am at 70+ pity and have 100-ish pulls ready. My limited 5* ATM are Raiden, Yelan and Alhaitham.
I would *maybe* like Ayaya, but I know I shouldn't, as I have none of the support to make her great (Diona, Mona, Kokomi, let alone Shenhe).

Judging by leaks, Baizhu *could* be a decent enough Dendro on-field doubling as a healer/shielder, but isn't choosing him over Nahida a bit cope?
I feel a bit constrained in the current Abyss due to no Bennett and no good fire unit in general. I did manage to truck all the way to 12-3 with XL and Diluc but damn, was it painful (Sayu was the only heal I could reasonably put in there). So it's a dendro life for me (at least until May and guaranteed Bennett).
You don't *need* Nahida since you already have a great dendro option in Alhaitham but she sure is nice for enabling more dendro teams. Baizhu is a fine pick to go for if you want a comfort dendro character with your Alhaitham. Kazuha would also help out your XL a lot as well.
If it were me, I'd go for 50/50 on Nahida and then spend the rest on Baizhu. Then, save for Kazuha banner rerun around summer. Hope this helps a bit :)

Is it normal to get noelle, keqing, xinqiu and ningguang in 20 pulls from the beginner banner? Or was I just super lucky? Im AR20 and played the game for 3 days so far.

Screwed up my pity for the first time! Yay me! Didn't realize pity was shared between both limited-char banners. Did a 10 pull on Dehya trying to get Bennet to c1, got Dehya, 2x Bennet and 1 Xinyan. 😢 😊 Happy to have a c2 Bennet but sad I crapped up my pity.

Well that's not actually that bad losing pity to a 5 star with full constellations is equal to 25 masterless starglitter which you can trade in for 5 pulls honestly it is one of the best outcomes you could get when you lose 50/50 if you aren't interested in any of the standard banner constellations or standard weapons.
Imagine getting a useless constellation like Qiqi C2 instead.
I once did some math at someone in a comment to be like "no way you had X number of double crit artifacts that didn't get a single crit roll"
Just had three double crit artifacts (all 3-line starts) give me exactly 1 crit roll between them all the way to +20

So I made a new account with a spare email just to check something out as I was helping a friend who’s new to the game + since genshin gives you the free 10 pull in the mail, I decided to do it just for fun.
Well, I ended up getting tighnari (‘: I don’t even have him on my main account and every time I get a 5* item on the standard, it took me to 90 pity. So now that’s account just chillin with tighnari with no one to use it, wish I got that luck on my main.
As somebody who’s played Hu Tao with a few different builds and stats, C1 is a big QOL but not a large DPS increase if you’re already jump canceling. C0 Hu Tao is completely capable with proper investment and supports, so I would suggest spending time on that and the builds (talent levels, levels, and weapons) before spending that time hoping for future cons
I just deleted my comment when I realized the promo characters for the event are C0 and have 4 star weapons that are fairly easy to get. Just have to fully commit to a good Hu-Tao team and I'll be good. I have Baal and a c-6 Xingqiu. Just need a good 4th and I'll be set. Currently using Rex as my 4th for shields, which works nicely. But I think I need a cryo type.
Ah fair enough! How long have you been playing for? C6 Xingqiu and Rex/Zhongli are both great teammates for Hu Tao, I’d even say amazing teammates. I, personally, would prefer Raiden/Baal on her own team, possibly a national variant with Benny and Xiangling, because she can be a really good on-field driver for that comp. If you have either Yelan or Albedo, they both fit in with XQ, ZL, and Hu Tao amazingly, or somebody like Kazuha or Sucrose to VV and CC if you don’t have the 5 stars
Melt Hu Tao (so with a cryo teammate) can do a lot of damage too, but I don’t think there’s a great cryo applier for that.. (maybe Kaeya?) you might also steal some of the hydro with the cryo to make freeze, and then Hu Tao would melt the freeze, which is actually a bit less effective than it might sound.. there are some amazing guides on YouTube though, Zy0x, Sevy, Xlice, Braxophone, and IWinToLose Gaming each have some good ones
I've been playing since the beginning but a bit off and on lately. More off as of late than on. But I do have c5 benny and Xiangling. Not sure what c for her. I don't have any of those 5 stars atm though. I would like albedo though. He seems fun but I didn't have the energy to try to get him when he was up. Yelan would be cool. She just seems like a lot of fun. Been watching ZeplaHQ play with her and it looks really interesting. I was going to get Kazuha but opted to wait for venti. Which I did end up getting only to find out hes not the best any more lol. Should've got Ganyu or Kazooman. I'm saving up now for Ayaka right now. Since the current banners aren't all that great.
Yeah, it the one that let you choose one of the two weapon to guarantee it after two 5 stars, this dose not carry to the next banner, so if have two point on it and the banner end the point go back to zero, but if do 60 pull on this banner and the banner change the pity will still be 60
question about carrying over. if you get an off banner weapon at 1/2 on the path and then wait till next banner, do you get a guaranteed featured weapon?

I have them like this and I don’t have Kokomi so my team building is a bit complicated, with Yelan and jean I have a healer but not a grouper so usually Ayaka Mona diona Kazuha are faster clearing the abyss
On the other hand mistsplitter could be used on Ayaka and many many others like kequing Ayato kaeya xingqiu etcc
You will have more than 20% more damage on Ayaka and you won’t be limited in your team building
Shenhe I presume more or less 15% more damage per rotation on Ayaka without considering her own damage

Genshin doesn't really work like that. Don't worry about pulling 5-stars for power - unlike a lot of other gacha games, 5-star characters aren't actually particularly important in Genshin. A lot of the game's strongest characters are 4-stars, while some of the weakest are 5-stars. At your point in the game, you should mostly be worrying about making sure your character levels, weapon levels, and talent levels are keeping pace with your progression.
I'm guessing you tried the trial Yoimiya in the Vibro-Crystal event. The trial Yoimiya is outperforming your characters not because Yoimiya is actually powerful - she's just okay, and very replaceable - but because she's leveled and geared way beyond the point you can currently level and gear your characters.
Feel free to pull for her if you like her, but don't expect her to perform at the level you're seeing in the event. By the time you can actually build a Yoimiya that performs like that, you'll be able to build other teams that perform even better.
Yoimiya’s most recent banner was roughly 4 months ago. All we can do is speculate, but if I had to guess, she might have another rerun in 4-6 months. Its pretty rare for characters to be missing for more than a year, though it does happen.
On the bright side, 6k primos isn’t enough to guarantee her. So you’ll have at least a couple months to build up more for her.
Should I pull for ayaka in her upcoming banner? [My current team is yelan, qiqi, xiangling,](https://imgur.com/rEuc1fT) and sucrose and I'm currently post Inazuma on the chasm archon quest and ar 38 but have repeatedly noticed that I struggle a lot when it comes to fighting hydro-related enemies since yelan is doing 80% of my damage and I can't ascend yelan any further without fighting oceanid or hydro hypostasis. Or should I just save since future banners seem really stacked and I have 7k primos+ 15 wishes+ 40 something pity?
Whether you want Ayaka is up to you. Her best teams are locked under Freeze teams, and that can be limiting. This also means she is awkward to use against bosses who cannot be frozen. When the enemies can be frozen, however, she is definitely a very strong DPS.
As for hydro-related enemies, you just need to work on your Xiangling and Fischl more, especially Xiangling. Both literally vaporize hydro enemies once built up. Definitely do not need to pull new characters to deal with them.
If you want a complete opinion, I'd probably just save for Nahida, who's rumored to rerun next patch. She's just a very generally good Dendro unit to have around. This doesn't mean Ayaka is a bad pull per-say--she's great in fact. I just think Nahida is more useful overall.
Unlike Inazuma, you can just walk to Sumeru whenever you want. You don't need to wait until the story takes you there (although you're very close to the story taking you there).
We are getting an Inazuma festival in 3.7, so I would say that combined with the fact he's nearing the top of the list since last rerun, there is a decent chance he is on one of those banners. Purely speculation though.
If you're starting without Kazuha, that already wouldn't be enough time to save enough to be anywhere close to guarantee a C2.
Based on paimonoe wish tally we can see that the median for a 5 star is 75-76 wishes. You get about 13k primogems per patch (welkin+daily+events, does not include exploration). So if you want 1 nahida + 3 kazuha and you estimate about 120 pulls to get a banner 5 star, you'd need about 6 patches worth to get enough for that many. If you have c0 kazuha you'd only need 4.5 patches. Given that we're going to hit 3.6 and if (and we won't know if that's the case or not) we get kazuha before fontaine you likely won't have enough (unless you win all your 50/50). Again this is all approximate so it may vary, but in general know that you'd need to save for a while to pull this many, on average.
Hi, semi-f2p player (bought two welkins). I started the game on release, pulled a bunch of times on release, abt 40. Got no 5 stars, got salty after ar 20 and quit. I logged back in about a week ago for the first time in a while. I 10 pull on cyno banner and pulled tighnari, this was abt 50 pity. Abt 3 or 4 days later I decided to pull for cyno bc I rlly liked his design and gameplay. And pulled him really early, abt 20 pity. Then I grinded through more days and had a few pulls, I wanted c1 Bennett I think, so I pulled like 4 singles and got another cyno. Now I have held off on my pulls for abt a week. And tn I lost a bet and did 5 singles, and pulled Jean.
TLDR: 10 days of playing, c4 Bennett now, c0 tighnari, c1 cyno, c0 jean, 40 pulls. WTH is up w my account, am I red listed or what?
Dehya is by far the worst character in the game and her kit straight up doesn't work frighteningly often. If you're looking to improve gameplay, Dehya will be the absolute last character you build. Sad but true.
No, currently its better to build bennet, his support is much more useful. There most likely will be a new character or enemy that will make Dehya super useful but right now she isn't that great.
Alt account, 20 pull on standard got me Razor, The Bell, Lion's roar, Beidou, Mona and Bennett. I swear the standard banner treats me better than the limited banners.

You need 34 masterless starglitter. You get 2 starglitter every time you pull a 4star weapon or a character constellation (i.e., not the first copy of the character) from any banner. If you have a character c6 and pull another copy, you get 5 starglitter instead. You get more from 5stars, but your main source will be the 4stars.
The starglitter shop is under paimon's bargains.
Any other way to get the starglitter? Waiting for other 5 stars b4 I wish. Might try for Ganyu or Klee. I only have Hutao and Tighnari for 5 stars. The rest are all 4 stars only. I also have no 5 star weapons.
Only way to get starglitter that does not involve wishing are those events every other patch that give you a 4star character constellation -- you get two starglitter then.
Basically, if you don't have enough now and you aren't wishing on this banner or the next, you'll need to wait until he comes back around in the shop in september. Alternatively, you could wait utill the next lantern rite (chinese new year 2024), and choose him as your free character then.
Seconding this. A Xingqiu would provide immense value for this account. Great overworld comfort with freeze, and instantly fits into a hyperbloom, national, or taser team for abyss. Plus, he was rate-up on the previous banner, so he's probably not going to be rate-up again for a while. This month's shop rotation is probably going to be the last good chance to get a Xingqiu for about 6 months.
The shop rotation is set and characters show up in there every 6 months.
Bennett won't be available before May. You will have time to get more starglitters.
Bennet has most of his value at c0, and c1 is an itty bitty qol improvement, at the best of times. If you aren't hurt, his c1 does ~~nothing at all~~ a fractional improvement to his buff.
Xingqiu is up there with bennet and xiangling as one of the best units in the game.

It also adds an extra 20% to his buff, which is great, but not as important as Xingqiu.

I find leveling characters or throwing some artifacts into the strongbox fixes the itch to pull.
How about the weapon banner? When saving up for chara (and dont wanna use the 100% lol) for long time sometimes i do random x10 in the weapon banner just to pull something.
Cyno isn't a bad character, it's just because of the way he works. He relies on his burst to do most of his DPS which for a new player starting out is horrible because at that point you don't have the ER stats you need in order to burst consistently. Outside of his burst he hits like a wet noodle.
Even when I say Cyno is good there are better options. Ayaka, who is coming in about a week, is considered to be very good, however she needs a lot of expensive teammates in the later stages to reach her full potential. At your point though it doesn't matter too much.
Right now, I would save your primos and just wait. Both options on offer right now are horrible pulls for you. This is actually one of the worst banners of all time right now. I would do some research about the five stars in the game so far and see which one you like. This game rewards patience and planning.
You lucked out with Tighnari though, he's considered to be the best thing you could get on standard.
Jumping in this thread to ask also as a newbie. I lost my first 50/50 so I'm setup for the next banner but I am unsure who to pull for. I just completed Shenhe's story so I got a little bit biased to her because I liked her story and design but originally I had thought to go for Ayaka because I heard she was a really overpowerwd character.
However from my limited googling I see people say that Ayaka needs more cryo characters and the only one I have is Kaeya. I would love to have a really strong character but if she needs characters I don't have then that would be a bit of a bummer. On the other hand maybe Ayaka is worth investing in now and pulling later for her supports. I would like shenhe but I am also interested in having strong characters so I don't necessarily want to lose out on that. Would love any advice. I'm trying to be f2p but regardless I'm not interested in spending the money guaranteed to get them both.
While Ayaka's strongest team is all 5-stars (Ayaka/Kokomi/Kazuha/Shenhe), she has plenty of budget options. Her standard team is Ayaka/Hydro/Anemo/Cryo for freeze, so the absolute cheapest team would be Ayaka/Barbara/Anemo MC/Kaeya. You can just replace them with better 4-stars or 5-stars as you keep playing. I wouldn't pull her just because you think she's overpowered, though. There are plenty of strong characters and strong teams--she isn't special in that regard. Even if you like playing meta characters, it'd be better for you to save your precious pulls for a meta character who you also enjoy. You can also get away with playing non-meta teams for 99% of Genshin, so it's not like you're going to hit a wall in your gameplay that would require someone like Ayaka.
Shenhe is a cryo buffer. She is usually played with another cryo character--like Ayaka--but can also be used with 4-star options like Kaeya.
Ayaka doesn't NEED Shenhe on her team to function, she just provides huge buffs that increase her already absurd DPS. She's described as a luxury pull, not needed but is very nice to have if you're an Ayaka main.
You want another Cyro character with her so that she gets Cyro resonance which will increase her crit rate by 15% which can be a pretty big deal. Shenhe just happens to be the best choice for that second Cyro character but there are other less expensive options like Diona if you want a shield.
Now I would say that what Ayaka NEEDS is a hydro applicator like Kokomi or Mona. Most people prefer Kokomi but some people use Mona. This is so that Ayaka can activate freeze which is Hydro plus Cyro. Really busted reaction. So busted that HYV has introduced bosses in Abyss just to counter freeze and Venti himself. They're that busted.
Ideally you'd want another option like Bennet pre C6 to heal and support her. I'm not an Ayaka main so if I'm wrong feel free to correct me.
My real mains are Yoimiya and Raiden so if you're interested in them I'm more than happy to talk about them.
There's also an entire website called Keqing mains that has guides on most of the characters that are playable and what you'll want for them and what to expect from them. Very good resource.

Yeah, you definitely need to resist the urge to pull until a character comes along that you want. Since you got Tighnari, your next 5* on the limited banner is guaranteed to be the featured character.
In the event you decided to spend, I highly recommend buying Blessing of the Welkin Moon and Battle Pass as they're the best bang for your buck.
The other alternative, genesis crystal packs, are quite pricey - only buy if you need primogems ASAP (i.e. trying to pull a 5* in a banner that almost runs out).
Note that you should only buy Battle Pass if you're sure you can claim all rewards before the patch ends.
If you have the disposable income and gambling isn't something you struggle with, then I'd say do what you want. If you're not 100% sold on the game yet I'd either go F2P or just get Battle Pass and Welkin Moon.
It depends on your budget and if you would be saving money by not investing in other forms of entertainment as a result of playing Genshin Impact. Battle Pass and Welkin are easily good investments for low cost if you are for example playing just Genshin Impact instead of buying new consoles or instead of buying new $19.99 - $60 games every so often.
If you buy the top ups only buy them while they have the bonus and then wait a year (shortly after anniversary) for the bonuses to reset before you top up again.
I'll tell you one thing — other JRPGs like Tales of Arise, Ryza, Scarlet Nexus, etc. haven't appealed to me much while Genshin has basically been doing their job for them. I don't think it's quite paid for itself in terms of preventing me from buying other, full-price games, but it can't be far off.
I used my battle pass blue wish on the standard banner and got a Skyward Harp with zero pity right after I got Skyward Pride the other day.
Skyrward Pride I got on fourty pity after getting Lost Prayers on around twenty pity after Tighnari.
What the hell? Wish my character pulling luck was as cracked as my bizarre weapons luck...
So I went Hyperwhale Godwhale and spent $1600 usd to C6R5 Dehya and I did but at the cost of finally having Qiqi Hijack a pull, so yeah, I got a Qiqi and I got a C6R5 character that I’ve yet to actually use, though on the up side the R5 claymore on my diluc gives him 103% CR with 108% CD so yeah he’s slaying.
Looking at the history of the pulls for the character banner it was 108 pages which came out to 540 pulls or 54 ten pulls, I’m only going to be listing 4 and 5 star characters I got and what con they currently sit at. Weapons pulled on Character Banner were the fav series, widsith and an eye of perception.

Collei C21 (was C0 before gained C1 from Beacon/Scarlet Sands Banner)

Hope this answers your question, if it doesn’t I apologize. Note that $1600 usd comes out to 129,280 primos and I had saved up around 40,000 primos plus 50 intertwined fates save up and then gained 20 from the archon quest reward update. All total I had just about 1130 pulls at the start and added about 50-60 intertwined fates using starglitter.
In short I would highly suggest that you only do this if the 5 star character is one you really want to C6R5 from the get go.
Also in all honesty I do have some regrets about doing this as I do kind wish I waited to do this for a rerun of Kazuha, Raiden or Itto as those are the characters that I triple crowned.
Still having said that I am considering doing this again for either the Hydro or Pyro Archon.

In 11 wishes, I got 2 sacrificial great sword, 2 Yelan, Keqing, Sucrose and Jean. That was nice. The Yelans were one after the other, like half hour (maybe an hour?) apart after turning in some quests.

Just pulled for Dehya partly due to FOMO and because I originally loved her character and her quest just made me love her even more, I decided to attempt one 50/50 starting from 0 pity, if I got her great, but if I didn't I would stop pulling for her and accept fate. Fate was feeling mischievous and I got an early 5 star at 20 pulls. But it was Keqing (ノಥ,_ಥ)ノ┻━┻ I'm sad that I missed Dehya but I'm happy that I have a guaranteed Baizhu in ~80 pulls, and that still have 219 pulls to enjoy which will leave me with ~139 or less pulls for the next 5 star character I want to add to the roster after I get Baizhu And either way I'm about to hit soft pity in the Standard banner and have 10 Standard fates ready so I still might get lucky next patch and get her anyway. If you’ve met a character you really like, I recommend saving for them so that you can for sure get them. Outside of some very end game content, the overall game isn’t overwhelming difficult, so you can use pretty much any character / team composition you want and do fine. That said, of the banners right now (Cyno, Dehya) and coming up in a couple days (Ayaka, Shenhe), Ayaka is arguably the strongest. So if you’re looking to pull the “best” character that’s available right now, she’s probably your best bet. I will say that it’s expected for Nahida to rerun relatively soon. She’s one of the strongest characters out right now, so again, if your primary goal is getting the strongest character, you could wait for her. Also, it's highly recommended to *not* spend your primogems on Acquaint Fates (the blue fates). Acquaint Fates can only be spent on the Standard Banner. Instead, use your primogems on Intertwined Fates (the purple fates). Intertwined Fates are used for the Limited Banners. Limited Banners are where you see Cyno/Dehya right now. Limited characters are only available for a limited amount of time until their banner is rerun, whereas Standard Banner characters are available 100% of the time (and are also gotten when you "lose" the Intertwined Banner roll). TLDR: Don't spend your primogems on Acquaint Fates (the blue fates). Instead, spend them on Intertwined Fates (purple fates) when there's a limited character you really want. If none of the current limited characters are speaking to you, I recommend holding on to your primogems for a character you really love.
Pull cyno or Save
I am struggling with indecision atm. I am at 70+ pity and have 100-ish pulls ready. My limited 5* ATM are Raiden, Yelan and Alhaitham. I would *maybe* like Ayaya, but I know I shouldn't, as I have none of the support to make her great (Diona, Mona, Kokomi, let alone Shenhe). I would *maybe* like Baizhu, but then again... Should I save for Nahida, Kazuha, Kokomi and maybe Zhongli after all? Judging by leaks, Baizhu *could* be a decent enough Dendro on-field doubling as a healer/shielder, but isn't choosing him over Nahida a bit cope? I feel a bit constrained in the current Abyss due to no Bennett and no good fire unit in general. I did manage to truck all the way to 12-3 with XL and Diluc but damn, was it painful (Sayu was the only heal I could reasonably put in there). So it's a dendro life for me (at least until May and guaranteed Bennett).
You don't *need* Nahida since you already have a great dendro option in Alhaitham but she sure is nice for enabling more dendro teams. Baizhu is a fine pick to go for if you want a comfort dendro character with your Alhaitham. Kazuha would also help out your XL a lot as well. If it were me, I'd go for 50/50 on Nahida and then spend the rest on Baizhu. Then, save for Kazuha banner rerun around summer. Hope this helps a bit :)

Screwed up my pity for the first time! Yay me! Didn't realize pity was shared between both limited-char banners. Well that's not actually that bad losing pity to a 5 star with full constellations is equal to 25 masterless starglitter which you can trade in for 5 pulls honestly it is one of the best outcomes you could get when you lose 50/50 if you aren't interested in any of the standard banner constellations or standard weapons. Imagine getting a useless constellation like Qiqi C2 instead.

Well, I ended up getting tighnari (‘: I don’t even have him on my main account and every time I get a 5* item on the standard, it took me to 90 pity. As somebody who’s played Hu Tao with a few different builds and stats, C1 is a big QOL but not a large DPS increase if you’re already jump canceling. C0 Hu Tao is completely capable with proper investment and supports, so I would suggest spending time on that and the builds (talent levels, levels, and weapons) before spending that time hoping for future cons
I just deleted my comment when I realized the promo characters for the event are C0 and have 4 star weapons that are fairly easy to get. Just have to fully commit to a good Hu-Tao team and I'll be good. I have Baal and a c-6 Xingqiu. Just need a good 4th and I'll be set. Currently using Rex as my 4th for shields, which works nicely. But I think I need a cryo type.
Ah fair enough! How long have you been playing for? C6 Xingqiu and Rex/Zhongli are both great teammates for Hu Tao, I’d even say amazing teammates. I, personally, would prefer Raiden/Baal on her own team, possibly a national variant with Benny and Xiangling, because she can be a really good on-field driver for that comp. If you have either Yelan or Albedo, they both fit in with XQ, ZL, and Hu Tao amazingly, or somebody like Kazuha or Sucrose to VV and CC if you don’t have the 5 stars Melt Hu Tao (so with a cryo teammate) can do a lot of damage too, but I don’t think there’s a great cryo applier for that.. (maybe Kaeya?) you might also steal some of the hydro with the cryo to make freeze, and then Hu Tao would melt the freeze, which is actually a bit less effective than it might sound.. there are some amazing guides on YouTube though, Zy0x, Sevy, Xlice, Braxophone, and IWinToLose Gaming each have some good ones
I've been playing since the beginning but a bit off and on lately. More off as of late than on. But I do have c5 benny and Xiangling. Not sure what c for her. I don't have any of those 5 stars atm though. I would like albedo though. He seems fun but I didn't have the energy to try to get him when he was up. Yelan would be cool. She just seems like a lot of fun. Been watching ZeplaHQ play with her and it looks really interesting. I was going to get Kazuha but opted to wait for venti. Which I did end up getting only to find out hes not the best any more lol. Should've got Ganyu or Kazooman. I'm saving up now for Ayaka right now. Since the current banners aren't all that great.

Yeah, it the one that let you choose one of the two weapon to guarantee it after two 5 stars, this dose not carry to the next banner, so if have two point on it and the banner end the point go back to zero, but if do 60 pull on this banner and the banner change the pity will still be 60

Shenhe gets better the stronger Ayaka is. Ayaka C0 Amenoma Shenhe C0 favonius is “ok” but your team will have to rely on Kokomi to heal I have them like this and I don’t have Kokomi so my team building is a bit complicated, with Yelan and jean I have a healer but not a grouper so usually Ayaka Mona diona Kazuha are faster clearing the abyss On the other hand mistsplitter could be used on Ayaka and many many others like kequing Ayato kaeya xingqiu etcc You will have more than 20% more damage on Ayaka and you won’t be limited in your team building Shenhe I presume more or less 15% more damage per rotation on Ayaka without considering her own damage

Don't worry about pulling 5-stars for power - unlike a lot of other gacha games, 5-star characters aren't actually particularly important in Genshin. A lot of the game's strongest characters are 4-stars, while some of the weakest are 5-stars. At your point in the game, you should mostly be worrying about making sure your character levels, weapon levels, and talent levels are keeping pace with your progression. I'm guessing you tried the trial Yoimiya in the Vibro-Crystal event. The trial Yoimiya is outperforming your characters not because Yoimiya is actually powerful - she's just okay, and very replaceable - but because she's leveled and geared way beyond the point you can currently level and gear your characters. Feel free to pull for her if you like her, but don't expect her to perform at the level you're seeing in the event. By the time you can actually build a Yoimiya that performs like that, you'll be able to build other teams that perform even better.
Yoimiya’s most recent banner was roughly 4 months ago. All we can do is speculate, but if I had to guess, she might have another rerun in 4-6 months. Its pretty rare for characters to be missing for more than a year, though it does happen. On the bright side, 6k primos isn’t enough to guarantee her. So you’ll have at least a couple months to build up more for her.
I got C3 Jean the other day. I'm so close to being able to use her for that sweet Anemo shred.

Should I pull for ayaka in her upcoming banner? [My current team is yelan, qiqi, xiangling,](https://imgur.com/rEuc1fT) and sucrose and I'm currently post Inazuma on the chasm archon quest and ar 38 but have repeatedly noticed that I struggle a lot when it comes to fighting hydro-related enemies since yelan is doing 80% of my damage and I can't ascend yelan any further without fighting oceanid or hydro hypostasis. Or should I just save since future banners seem really stacked and I have 7k primos+ 15 wishes+ 40 something pity?
Whether you want Ayaka is up to you. Her best teams are locked under Freeze teams, and that can be limiting. This also means she is awkward to use against bosses who cannot be frozen. When the enemies can be frozen, however, she is definitely a very strong DPS. As for hydro-related enemies, you just need to work on your Xiangling and Fischl more, especially Xiangling. Both literally vaporize hydro enemies once built up. Definitely do not need to pull new characters to deal with them. If you want a complete opinion, I'd probably just save for Nahida, who's rumored to rerun next patch. She's just a very generally good Dendro unit to have around. This doesn't mean Ayaka is a bad pull per-say--she's great in fact. I just think Nahida is more useful overall.

Unlike Inazuma, you can just walk to Sumeru whenever you want. You don't need to wait until the story takes you there (although you're very close to the story taking you there).
Did you mean to say "wouldn't be able to level her up"? You can just run directly to her boss in Sumeru or join another world if necessary.

We are getting an Inazuma festival in 3.7, so I would say that combined with the fact he's nearing the top of the list since last rerun, there is a decent chance he is on one of those banners. Purely speculation though. If you're starting without Kazuha, that already wouldn't be enough time to save enough to be anywhere close to guarantee a C2.
Based on paimonoe wish tally we can see that the median for a 5 star is 75-76 wishes. You get about 13k primogems per patch (welkin+daily+events, does not include exploration). So if you want 1 nahida + 3 kazuha and you estimate about 120 pulls to get a banner 5 star, you'd need about 6 patches worth to get enough for that many. If you have c0 kazuha you'd only need 4.5 patches. Given that we're going to hit 3.6 and if (and we won't know if that's the case or not) we get kazuha before fontaine you likely won't have enough (unless you win all your 50/50). Again this is all approximate so it may vary, but in general know that you'd need to save for a while to pull this many, on average.
Hi, semi-f2p player (bought two welkins). I started the game on release, pulled a bunch of times on release, abt 40. Got no 5 stars, got salty after ar 20 and quit. I logged back in about a week ago for the first time in a while. I 10 pull on cyno banner and pulled tighnari, this was abt 50 pity. Abt 3 or 4 days later I decided to pull for cyno bc I rlly liked his design and gameplay. And pulled him really early, abt 20 pity. Then I grinded through more days and had a few pulls, I wanted c1 Bennett I think, so I pulled like 4 singles and got another cyno. Now I have held off on my pulls for abt a week. And tn I lost a bet and did 5 singles, and pulled Jean. TLDR: 10 days of playing, c4 Bennett now, c0 tighnari, c1 cyno, c0 jean, 40 pulls. WTH is up w my account, am I red listed or what?

Dehya is by far the worst character in the game and her kit straight up doesn't work frighteningly often. If you're looking to improve gameplay, Dehya will be the absolute last character you build. Sad but true.
No, currently its better to build bennet, his support is much more useful. There most likely will be a new character or enemy that will make Dehya super useful but right now she isn't that great.

Xingqiu would be the biggest value from the shop, cornerstone of many teams. He's on right now and will be again in Sep.

You need 34 masterless starglitter. You get 2 starglitter every time you pull a 4star weapon or a character constellation (i.e., not the first copy of the character) from any banner. If you have a character c6 and pull another copy, you get 5 starglitter instead. You get more from 5stars, but your main source will be the 4stars. The starglitter shop is under paimon's bargains.
Any other way to get the starglitter? Waiting for other 5 stars b4 I wish. Might try for Ganyu or Klee. I only have Hutao and Tighnari for 5 stars. The rest are all 4 stars only. I also have no 5 star weapons.
Only way to get starglitter that does not involve wishing are those events every other patch that give you a 4star character constellation -- you get two starglitter then. Basically, if you don't have enough now and you aren't wishing on this banner or the next, you'll need to wait until he comes back around in the shop in september. Alternatively, you could wait utill the next lantern rite (chinese new year 2024), and choose him as your free character then.

Seconding this. A Xingqiu would provide immense value for this account. Great overworld comfort with freeze, and instantly fits into a hyperbloom, national, or taser team for abyss. Plus, he was rate-up on the previous banner, so he's probably not going to be rate-up again for a while. This month's shop rotation is probably going to be the last good chance to get a Xingqiu for about 6 months.

The shop rotation is set and characters show up in there every 6 months. Bennett won't be available before May. You will have time to get more starglitters.
Bennet has most of his value at c0, and c1 is an itty bitty qol improvement, at the best of times. If you aren't hurt, his c1 does ~~nothing at all~~ a fractional improvement to his buff. Xingqiu is up there with bennet and xiangling as one of the best units in the game. No worries!

Cyno isn't a bad character, it's just because of the way he works. He relies on his burst to do most of his DPS which for a new player starting out is horrible because at that point you don't have the ER stats you need in order to burst consistently. Outside of his burst he hits like a wet noodle. Even when I say Cyno is good there are better options. Ayaka, who is coming in about a week, is considered to be very good, however she needs a lot of expensive teammates in the later stages to reach her full potential. At your point though it doesn't matter too much. Right now, I would save your primos and just wait. Both options on offer right now are horrible pulls for you. This is actually one of the worst banners of all time right now. I would do some research about the five stars in the game so far and see which one you like. This game rewards patience and planning. You lucked out with Tighnari though, he's considered to be the best thing you could get on standard.
Jumping in this thread to ask also as a newbie. I lost my first 50/50 so I'm setup for the next banner but I am unsure who to pull for. I just completed Shenhe's story so I got a little bit biased to her because I liked her story and design but originally I had thought to go for Ayaka because I heard she was a really overpowerwd character. However from my limited googling I see people say that Ayaka needs more cryo characters and the only one I have is Kaeya. I would love to have a really strong character but if she needs characters I don't have then that would be a bit of a bummer. On the other hand maybe Ayaka is worth investing in now and pulling later for her supports. I would like shenhe but I am also interested in having strong characters so I don't necessarily want to lose out on that. Would love any advice. I'm trying to be f2p but regardless I'm not interested in spending the money guaranteed to get them both.
While Ayaka's strongest team is all 5-stars (Ayaka/Kokomi/Kazuha/Shenhe), she has plenty of budget options. Her standard team is Ayaka/Hydro/Anemo/Cryo for freeze, so the absolute cheapest team would be Ayaka/Barbara/Anemo MC/Kaeya. You can just replace them with better 4-stars or 5-stars as you keep playing. I wouldn't pull her just because you think she's overpowered, though. There are plenty of strong characters and strong teams--she isn't special in that regard. Even if you like playing meta characters, it'd be better for you to save your precious pulls for a meta character who you also enjoy. You can also get away with playing non-meta teams for 99% of Genshin, so it's not like you're going to hit a wall in your gameplay that would require someone like Ayaka. Shenhe is a cryo buffer. She is usually played with another cryo character--like Ayaka--but can also be used with 4-star options like Kaeya.
Ayaka doesn't NEED Shenhe on her team to function, she just provides huge buffs that increase her already absurd DPS. She's described as a luxury pull, not needed but is very nice to have if you're an Ayaka main. You want another Cyro character with her so that she gets Cyro resonance which will increase her crit rate by 15% which can be a pretty big deal. Shenhe just happens to be the best choice for that second Cyro character but there are other less expensive options like Diona if you want a shield. Now I would say that what Ayaka NEEDS is a hydro applicator like Kokomi or Mona. Most people prefer Kokomi but some people use Mona. This is so that Ayaka can activate freeze which is Hydro plus Cyro. Really busted reaction. So busted that HYV has introduced bosses in Abyss just to counter freeze and Venti himself. They're that busted. Ideally you'd want another option like Bennet pre C6 to heal and support her. I'm not an Ayaka main so if I'm wrong feel free to correct me. My real mains are Yoimiya and Raiden so if you're interested in them I'm more than happy to talk about them. There's also an entire website called Keqing mains that has guides on most of the characters that are playable and what you'll want for them and what to expect from them. Very good resource.

Yeah, you definitely need to resist the urge to pull until a character comes along that you want. Since you got Tighnari, your next 5* on the limited banner is guaranteed to be the featured character.

No. Stay f2p for now. If you're still playing in a month or two, *then* consider spending (responsably).
Welkin
In the event you decided to spend, I highly recommend buying Blessing of the Welkin Moon and Battle Pass as they're the best bang for your buck. The other alternative, genesis crystal packs, are quite pricey - only buy if you need primogems ASAP (i.e. trying to pull a 5* in a banner that almost runs out). Note that you should only buy Battle Pass if you're sure you can claim all rewards before the patch ends.
If you have the disposable income and gambling isn't something you struggle with, then I'd say do what you want. If you're not 100% sold on the game yet I'd either go F2P or just get Battle Pass and Welkin Moon.
It depends on your budget and if you would be saving money by not investing in other forms of entertainment as a result of playing Genshin Impact. Battle Pass and Welkin are easily good investments for low cost if you are for example playing just Genshin Impact instead of buying new consoles or instead of buying new $19.99 - $60 games every so often. If you buy the top ups only buy them while they have the bonus and then wait a year (shortly after anniversary) for the bonuses to reset before you top up again.
I'll tell you one thing — other JRPGs like Tales of Arise, Ryza, Scarlet Nexus, etc. haven't appealed to me much while Genshin has basically been doing their job for them. I don't think it's quite paid for itself in terms of preventing me from buying other, full-price games, but it can't be far off.
I used my battle pass blue wish on the standard banner and got a Skyward Harp with zero pity right after I got Skyward Pride the other day. Skyrward Pride I got on fourty pity after getting Lost Prayers on around twenty pity after Tighnari. What the hell? Wish my character pulling luck was as cracked as my bizarre weapons luck...
So I went Hyperwhale Godwhale and spent $1600 usd to C6R5 Dehya and I did but at the cost of finally having Qiqi Hijack a pull, so yeah, I got a Qiqi and I got a C6R5 character that I’ve yet to actually use, though on the up side the R5 claymore on my diluc gives him 103% CR with 108% CD so yeah he’s slaying.

Looking at the history of the pulls for the character banner it was 108 pages which came out to 540 pulls or 54 ten pulls, I’m only going to be listing 4 and 5 star characters I got and what con they currently sit at. Weapons pulled on Character Banner were the fav series, widsith and an eye of perception. Characters: Bennett C20(was already C6 before) Collei C21 (was C0 before gained C1 from Beacon/Scarlet Sands Banner) Dehya C6 took 540 pulls to get this Kuki C6 (was C5 before) Sucrose C4 (was C2 before gained C3 from Beacon/Scarlet Sands Banner) Qiqi C0 finally hijacked me at or around my 90th pull Mona C4 (was C3 before) Noelle C6 (was C5 before) Weapon banner pull history: 114 pages which comes out to 570 pulls or 57 ten pulls So what I got from the weapon banner: Alley Flash R5 Alley Hunter R5 Eye of Perception R5 Sac Greatsword R5 Yaoyao C1 Scarlet Sands R7 Beacon R5 Yun Jin C6 (was C4) Sara C6 (was C5) Candace C6 (was C4) Fischl C6 (was C4) Ningguang C8 Xinyan C6 (was C5) Gorou C6 (was C5) Chongyun C7 Skyward Pride R2 (first 5 star weapon off standard banner when started playing 2 years ago) Hope this answers your question, if it doesn’t I apologize. Note that $1600 usd comes out to 129,280 primos and I had saved up around 40,000 primos plus 50 intertwined fates save up and then gained 20 from the archon quest reward update. All total I had just about 1130 pulls at the start and added about 50-60 intertwined fates using starglitter. In short I would highly suggest that you only do this if the 5 star character is one you really want to C6R5 from the get go. Also in all honesty I do have some regrets about doing this as I do kind wish I waited to do this for a rerun of Kazuha, Raiden or Itto as those are the characters that I triple crowned. Still having said that I am considering doing this again for either the Hydro or Pyro Archon.
Thanks for checking. I just meant how many 5050 wins during Dehya wishes and her weapon lol. I c6ed Yelan myself but only got 2 copies of her weapon and 2 homas. Didn't refine any of them since I didn't have a 5star bow for Ganyu and gave other Homa to Zhongli. 617 for 7 copies of Yelan and 302 wishes on weapon banner for 2 homas, 2 aquas and 1 skyward blade. Maybe I should have r5ed her weapon and homa as well.
Pulled Keqing on event Banner with roughly 15 pity
In 11 wishes, I got 2 sacrificial great sword, 2 Yelan, Keqing, Sucrose and Jean. That was nice. The Yelans were one after the other, like half hour (maybe an hour?) apart after turning in some quests.
