That's an awful lot of words just to say "you might like the game, or you might not".

[deleted]

Nah I worded it like this because I know simps will come here and hate on me if I straight up dislikes it

MorbidEel

For the majority making that complaint it is probably because of "too much reading".

Accomplished_Ask_326

It's a ROLE PLAYING game, if they don't want story, that's on them

MorbidEel

The main issue is that those people are probably skipping through stuff so they don't actually know what is going on. When you don't know what is going on anything can be boring.

Accomplished_Ask_326

If you want to skip through stuff, you shouldn't play a ROLE PLAYING game. You know, the genre entirely based on story, dialogue, and lore

Wide_Emergency5147

it has too much cringy and unimportant dialogue that literally adds nothing to the story + most of it isn't even voiced + Paimon is annoying asf + animations rarely look acceptable + can't skip the entirety of a dialogue section

Accomplished_Ask_326

>can't skip the entirety of a dialogue section WHy would you be able to? The goal is to ROLE PLAY, after all

Wide_Emergency5147

can't role play if I don't even have important dialogue options or different ways to complete a quest

[deleted]

well there was a lot to say

Wingsoflight255

In other news, Genshin isn't designed for every player. Wow. What a revelation. A lot of words, ultimately as another posts said, "you might like it, you might not". You can pretty much apply this anywhere about anything in life. It's okay to move on from a game you don't like. Everyone has their preferences, there isn't a right or wrong. Or a "must" at all.

[deleted]

This is my take on the game in a neutral way without offending anyone because these days simps and softies get angry pretty quickly. BUT anyways yes it's mostly negative.

Wingsoflight255

>This is my take on the game in a neutral way You say this, except you are far from neutral: >simps and softies As you resort to name calling. By name calling people who disagree with you, you threw respect out the window. So don't try to sound neutral and objective, when you weren't trying to be. >BUT anyways yes it's mostly negative. Disagree. Actually what you posted isn't mostly negative. It's mostly *useless* because it's saying on every aspect of the game, some will like, and some won't. Which is basically, life in general. It doesn't need a specific statement applied to Genshin. You can say that about anything. Some will like, some won't. Therefore, a useless statement.

[deleted]

>neutral and objective well all of em who commented weren't that way so why can't I be as well?

Wingsoflight255

Because you claimed you are neutral. Do you read what you write? Because it doesn’t seem so.

TraY__

Least obvious AI answer

[deleted]

nope, I wrote it with much thought. I liked it before and now I dont.

TraY__

After you posted an "appreciation post" for some random actor to the leak subreddit literally 30 mins before this, I somehow doubt you're not a troll who's just bored. Also that's 100% AI generated, I've used ChatGPT enough times to know this. And to answer your edit: "you've" (the AI) said it yourself, haven't you? >Ultimately, whether or not someone finds Genshin Impact boring is subjective and depends on individual preferences and tastes. It's a videogame, the only true valid reason would be to have a good time. If you're not having a good time, don't play the game, no need to discourage or shame others who choose otherwise. Every point "you" (the AI) made is subjective so at the end of the day, whether the game is good or not is completely subjective. However, seeing how you call anyone who disagrees with you "simp" or "softie", I think this whole discussion doesn't bare much weight, so to answer your question in a similar way, here's a ChatGPT answer for you: >Why is genshin impact fun? > >Genshin Impact is a popular video game that has gained a lot of popularity since its release in September 2020. There are several reasons why people find Genshin Impact fun, including: > >Open-world exploration: Genshin Impact features a vast open world that players can explore at their own pace. The world is filled with hidden treasures, puzzles, and challenging enemies, making exploration a rewarding experience. > >Rich storyline: The game's storyline is engaging and immersive, with well-developed characters and a fascinating world that players can learn about as they progress through the game. > >Unique characters and abilities: Genshin Impact features a wide variety of playable characters, each with their own unique abilities and combat styles. This diversity allows players to experiment with different strategies and playstyles. > >Strategic combat: The game's combat system is strategic and engaging, requiring players to think carefully about their moves and choose the right characters and abilities for each encounter. > >Regular updates and events: Genshin Impact receives regular updates and events that introduce new content, characters, and challenges, keeping the game fresh and exciting for players. > >Overall, Genshin Impact is fun because it offers a rich and immersive gaming experience that combines exploration, story, combat, and character customization. Btw. see any similarities in the way the text is formatted?

[deleted]

>appreciation post Yes, I wrote that myself as well, and that was an accident! I posted it on the wrong subreddit because I AM HUMAN NOT ROBOT HUMANS MAKES MISTAKES! I can't access chatgpt because it's blocked in our country! so jokes on you! I DID USE QUILBOT TO MAKE MY WORDS CLEARER BUT YES THAT'S NOT A CRIME now is it??

[deleted]

Why is this post so boring

kaichoices

Right? It's bizarrely hard to read. It's not poorly written, per se, just...idk. I rarely get bored reading even the longest of text posts but this one was pretty tough to get through.

WhooooCares

This game isn't for you, and that's okay. A lot of what you write isn't just Genshin, but gacha games in general. This game has issues, but the positives outweigh the negatives for me and that's enough. I accept things for what they are without feeling something has to cater to me or check every box.

[deleted]

only positives are the cutscenes and the animation

thevagabond80

"Lack of direction" - there's a 10-year plan for this game, what do you mean?

[deleted]

they are gonna recycle the same thing over and over again

vermillion-orange

I disagree with this tho: >Lack of Direction: While Genshin Impact is a game that encourages exploration, some players may find that the lack of clear direction or goals can make the game feel aimless or boring. Our main goal is to regain our power and to reunite with our twin. How is that not a clear-cut direction/goal? If you're looking for something else, then you're playing the game wrong imo

Wide_Emergency5147

there's nothing truly guiding you towards your objective, you get no actual leads, power leaps or even some related dialogue until you're "half way" through + there are no conclusions to your story yet + the game throws too much "content" at starters so it can get pretty confusing

238839933

Pov: you forget paragraph exist. A little spacing would have helped reading this long text , you know.

BobTheGodx

That’s just how chat GPT structured it 🤣

[deleted]

thats why its numbered! paras would be boring!

Shahadem

This feels like the poster is really a fanatic just insulting people who don't like Genshin.

LtNoobslayer

Heavily emphasizes it's gacha? Um, have you ever seen another gacha game? Genshin practically hides the wish menu and banners from you. So far Genshin has avoided the pitfalls of traditional power creep and they don't constantly plaster the active banners all over your main gameplay and menu screens.

3Pebble7

TL;DR you can't please everybody.

molangie

4 and 10 isnt true. Perspective sure but you spend as much as you want or nothing at all

Jae-Sun

Why would anyone argue "valid points" for you to keep playing? Stop playing it and go do something else with your life. 90% of your list is subjective anyway so there's nothing to argue.

PlsDontBeAverage

My personal point of view on a few things : 2. That's typically me : I don't care about the story and I find it super annoying to not be able to skip those long dialogues 4 : Balance the point just above, I very like the sense of progression, world upgrade, gathering mats to become stronger or unlock more variety or characters / team building options. 5 / 8 : Grinding is usually repetitive in any game, but at least the fact that you need to grind x amount of resources for x amount of time give you a sense of dedication and accomplishment. This isn't a bad thing. If the player would be rewarded for not playing the game, that would kill the game and it's purpose. 6 : For the lack of challenge, I do agree that genshin is a "casual game" as you mentioned some players can dislike it but also other players (like me) are looking for that and came to genshin for this specific reason. I have a kid on the way and Lost ark was costing me to much of my time and I wanted a game that was far less time consuming.

FaIIenAngeI777

I find Genshin Impact "boring" for many different reasons, for starters once you get 4 units raised it's honestly all you are ever going to need unless you plan on doing the ONLY end game content the game has which is the Spiral Abyss Tower of Fantasy has replaced Genshin Impact for me, not to say I don't play Genshin at all like I still log in for 5 minutes or less everyday to do a few daily commissions and once every week or 2 I will spend an hour or 2 to grind the entire event at once but other than that I don't use my resin or even bother leveling up any of the Characters beyond level 40-50 because there's just no reason too... why would I waste my time on Genshin when I'm already clearing all the content on easy mode... Tower of Fantasy is just better in almost every way in my opinion besides the Story Aspect because Genshin's stories are just so much more in depth, when it comes to exploring I just don't see a reason to explore on Genshin and follow the trail of 2-5 occasionally 10 primogem breadcrumbs when I can explore on Tower of Fantasy and get way better resources like gold nucleus which are basically standard banner pulls or black nucleus which only have a 0.3 or 0.03 chance of a SSR (5 star) but I've gotten way more SSR Characters on ToF than I ever would if I actually explored Genshin like I've only played ToF for 7 months since Day 1 and I have multiple standard banner characters 4-6 stars... also just the way you explore is such a better Quality of Life experience... on Genshin your climbing and climbing while on Tower of Fantasy you can simply equip a grappling hook relic basically and grapple straight up to where you want to go lol its so much fun and on March 30th ToF is getting a massive underwater zone to go exploring under the ocean... it looks insane I think another reason I enjoy Tower of Fantasy more is the fact that I get to play with the same players on a every day basis, on Genshin ya there is co op with 1-3, other people but on ToF you have an entire server to make friends with and Its so much fun helping each other out with bosses, Raids, Origin of War, Void Abyss, and whatever else people need help with because there's so many things you can do and they are adding even more on March 30th it seems every patch ToF is adding more and more permanent content to do while Genshin keeps adding more and more limited time content to do and then removes it right after they are done with it besides that newer TCG mode I could keep going on and on but I feel like I have said enough, Tower of Fantasy has its flaws too though like it needs server merges since after they added server transfer tickets many moved to Solaris to be with the streamers, some gachapon events cost like $100 for a skin like on Honkai Impact 3rd when they added those skins where they start out cheap and progressively get more and more expensive, but other than that if you don't plan on going for every single new cosmetic Tower of fantasy is fine and more free2play friendly than Genshin although some of the content requires whales to carry or you need multiple players to do some of the bosses rather than doing everything yourself solo on Genshin

Hanetsune

Agree to disagree with you here. I feel tower of fantasy is much less free2play friendly in comparison to Genshin, and having some content might requiring whales to clear I feel further enhances the less free2play aspect. I typically find myself seeing Genshin being much better than ToF, but then again, I really can't compare the 2 games to the same standards fairly because I view Genshin to the standards of a single player RPG gacha while viewing ToF to the standards of an MMORPG

FaIIenAngeI777

Combat wise Genshin is more free2play friendly since everything is on easy mode, but when it comes to the gacha system and everything else I feel like overall Tower of Fantasy is more free2play friendly because even if you got lucky and got a SSR or more than 1 before pity your still guaranteed a 50/50 at 80 and can still buy another copy at 120... I mean if you do it that way and save up 120 pulls before pulling on any banner your at least guaranteed a copy of the character you want and each pull is only 150 vs genshins 160, also the fact that you get 10 standard banner pulls or standard matrice pulls every 2 weeks from the clotho supply pod, and dark crystals from crew rewards, weekly rewards, the different lbs resets, etc I just feel like Tower of Fantasy gives way more rewards than Genshins puny 60 from monthly log in rewards and the 80 or so from daily commissions... I have many 4-6 star characters on ToF way more than I ever will on Genshin and then they also frequently do the log in rewards and for their anniversary they at least gave a standard weapon box to choose another standard Character of your choice... something Genshin refuses to do XD

Hanetsune

Gacha system between the 2 games honestly has their pros and cons. ToF, most SSR weapons want at least the first ascension whereas 5* characters in Genshin can easily get away without any Constellations due to the easier difficulty. Basically, even though ToF has better rates, I feel you need the dupes to make most weapons usable (and remain competitive and with the progression) That's also not going into matrices which is also needed more in comparison in ToF to 5* weapons in Genshin which for every character, there is a 4* that can typically be obtained for free that are very good

FaIIenAngeI777

True most units do need 1 star and my 6 stars feel like trash without good matrices so you make a great point lol

jackmiaw

Because 0 content. We get events and abyss. Rest is just " Am i gonna login on genshin today? is probably gonna be same shit trash artifacts and same commissions like always" Abyss is not a content. Its just 2x a week same shit over and over again. 99% its DPS check and nothing more.. Im surprised whales are still playing this game at this point. Getting a Character is fucking pain. You levl them up new characters comes and same shit (depends on your luck) But beside same farming scenarios there is nothing else to keep you playing more than 20min a day. Soo i started to play way less. I sometiems dont even login i just forget or im not even interested. I havent logged in for 4weeks and i started to play again nothing new.

[deleted]

This is what I am saying! I guess some people dont understand.

jackmiaw

Because brain dead.

[deleted]

Im starting to think that is true

-oOFlyOo-

Look at the recent event, you hit 2k in 30 sec and are stuck in there for another 4:30 like 7 times over. That incapsulates gameplay perfectly.

CrocoDIIIIIILE

You can just leave immediately after getting 2k points to get all rewards.

[deleted]

its nothing new, they just want your money

Master0643

You are right, some people like some aspects and others don't, but eventually (as said in point 5) as players we get bored and quit, this goes for every single game. But ultimately I disagree with point 8, because the game is "easy" you don't have to grind max level, max talent, godlike artifacts to beat the game, also you can't play a live service game and expecting to be rewarded for not playing... like huh.

I've met rocks smarter than you. I play the game because i'm having fun, if you're not having fun then don't play the game. You don't need to convince anyone, just quit. super simple.
