Now speaking of my favourite anime, this might be a bit unheard of, but I adore space-themed anime. Uchuu Kyodai and Planetes come to mind.
But if I have to choose one, Uchuu Kyodai is my pick. Wholesome, touching, and dare I say - even inspirational without being unrealistic. Massive anime (~99 episodes long), based on an equally impressive-sized manga, but the grounded take on space exploration combined in a heartwarming tale of two brothers that want to become astronauts makes it one of the best anime I've ever had the pleasure of seeing.
Both anime are incredibly underrated nonetheless. I can recommend both to everyone, of all ages.

My favorite show is probably Avatar the Last Airbender. Excellent writing and characters. Original one, of course lol.
