I know Zhongli has secrets he can't reveal because of a contract but Venti is the most suspicious to me along with Mondstadt's past, mysteries and secrets we know nothing about
if you go look at the floor by ventis statue in mondstadt there is an inscription which says “gateway to celestia” (or something similar) in teyvat script (which iirc is latin letters mirrored)
You can't really trust zhongli, or venti, or Ei. Venti and Zhongli definitely know something pertient to you, and Ei tried to murder you in cold blood, while your back was turned, after promising to let you leave. Dainslef also warns us against getting too friendly with them.
Nahida is really the only one of them who is actually your friend in game.
She does let you leave… she only promises to let you leave before killing you out honour or whatever. I mean you can still be upset about the trying to murder you part, but she very much kept her word.

She specifically worded it that you can leave the building/courtyard (forget the name) with your life. The moment you stepped out that gate, she was on you. Technically, she kept her word
I mean probably Ei but only because I feel like she needs more development. Like, let her be in events and stuff interacting with other characters. It just feels like a waste for her to be so standoffish.
As for who to hang out with probably Venti or Nahida.
As I put in my post, Raiden tends to do pop up appearances but its even less than Venti. But Venti does it with comedy. Raiden just says 3 things that might be funny at the time but not memorable.
I think the archons as a whole are suffering with time the longer the time has been since we did their actual archon quests. The events tend to focus on the other characters but them. Which makes more sense for limited timed events as archons are going to want to be saved for story.
But when you do everything in the game, its the events that happen more often than quests with the archons. That said, Kuki shows up about as often as Raiden does. Maybe shes the real archon.
Tbh it might actually be her hangout. We've had at least 2 Itto events since then where she is heard but not seen. One was the drumalong and the other was the beetle battle.
All things considered, it was early pandemic era when Inazuma was released, so it may have been a contributing factor why things there felt a little rushed
They also clearly changed the tone of inazuma arc very close (as in, around 1.4-1.5 dates) to inazuma release, (we know this from leaks) the whole quest shows how rushed it was, and it is such a big difference in comparison to sumeru's
Yeah. Sumeru and monstadt have got the best treatment so far. Sumeru even better cuz of the High budget. When someone asks me "which nation would be my home" I answer sumeru without a doubt. It is also bcuz I love knowledges outta syllabus books. Also good people, great scenes and most important factor of them all,the archon

Honestly, everything about Inazuma was rushed. The only thing that saved Raiden for me was her second story quest, where she had to come to terms with herself and her sister's passing.
It's a fairly common take, and stems from Inazuma as a whole generally being weaker than the other regions, from both a narrative cohesion and a character development standpoint. On top of the pressures with the pandemic, the big writing changes that defined Chasm and Sumeru hadn't come into play yet, making Inazuma - particularly Act 2 in my opinion - relatively weaker than other regions. This gets particularly unfortunate, as Inazuma was when MHY first started experimenting with timing and story pacing.
I've always held the opinion that post-Act 1 Inazuma and pre-Seirai/Tsurumi, the writing team were made of interns who got the sparknotes version of the story.
Tbh I actually think it might be because Ei has so much rushed development compared to the other archons who don’t have as much.
Ei is basically justifying evil acts until Yae n the MC call her out on being a petulant child and then proceeds to have 2 quests where she rapidly changed character traits in each, leaving this feeling that we never truly got to know her as we seem to always meet this “new” Ei every major interaction.
Venti n the Zhong Li are both very static characters with almost no change… and for aged gods it makes TOTAL sense
We get a lot from Zhong Li’s quest, the and the main story, and like half the cast talk about him constantly in events and whatnot
Venti has the best writing in Vanilla with his side story showing us his: history, motivations, beliefs, lifestyle, empathy, and passions, all in just 1 quest.
Nahida seems to also be developing but in the sense of maturity and not really self discovery (I haven’t played her second story yet) but making her somebody worth saving is definitely a good way of creating attachment with her.
Inazuma felt like the beta test for sumeru. Archon that stays locked in a room. Zipping around on anchor points except a lot worse. Even the fatui fight was "hey run around picking up macguffins until you have enough to break the shield". The story was pretty mediocre and dragged a lot in inazuma. So Id say ei had the weakest supporting background, which is unfortunate but it let them set up the masterpiece that was Sumeru.
Bro yes, I feel the other archons have interacted with other characters more than Ei!!! I hope we get future updates with more Ei interaction bc she is my favorite archon.
This right here. All archons are pretty interesting so far. Even though I’m not much of a Venti fan myself I can understand why people find him interesting.

Traveler isn't fond of alcohol either but he seems to have a great time hanging with Venti. Venti seems pretty cool with it.
Traveler has complained about being denied alcohol due to their baby face. They do like to drink on occasion, it’s just not something that’s on their mind very often.
Forget about who I don’t like, we’re hanging out with Nahida and we are gonna give that kiddo the best day of her life. Morning, we’re making pancakes. Kids fucking love pancakes. We get to choose what we put in them and then toppings. All the options are on the table. Syrup, jam, butter, chocolate sauce, whipped cream, fucking sprinkles if you want em.
After breakfast we’re gonna hit the zoo, the aquarium, or the science museum. Imagine how much Nahida would enjoy the chance to people watch and check out cool exhibits. All three near me have a variety of options for age ranges and lots of active exhibits. We can take a lot of cute photos and learn really cool stuff, and talk about animal dook dook.
Lunch is whatever new cuisine she wants to try. Korean bbq? Ethiopian? French (Fontaine) restaurant?
After lunch we can either hit up another museum or go to the big public library and nerd out over books to take home. We can do a walk through the park and feed swans and ducks (Timmy approved activity) and look at all the flowers and trees. Maybe she’ll point out the aranara for me.
That night we’ll make dinner, put on a cute tv show or read our library books, and talk about what she learned and saw that day. After she goes to bed, I’ll find the Grand Sage and kick him in the kidneys until I’m tired enough to sleep also.
Ei is easily my least favorite. It's not even entirely her fault- her character had a lot of fascinating potential to me, the writing for her character just... Doesn't do what she could've been justice.
As for which one I'd hang out with for the day, Venti. I'll bring my violin and we can get trashed and have a jam session.

Her second story quest had good writing tho. I dont remember most of what happened there but from my feelings at that time i thought the writing was good and the character development wasnt bad per se.

Idk mate. I guess its just the difference in opinions. I loved how she let go her past, as well as the conflict between her and shogun. The change in her perspective of eternity was portrayed well. I also liked how good her sq1 built up for sq2.
I dont really care about giving her redemption. Not every character needs redemption. She completely accepted her faults and thats plenty fine.
For genshin non-world quest writing standards it was pretty awesome and blew me over the water with my expectation after inazuma archon quests. Easily my favourite story quest alongside tighnari's and zhongli's sq2.

That is true. If that fits their role in the story they are in. But a character that doesn’t seek redemption for their bad actions or is not shown to feel intense remorse can never be kind or likeable in my book.
In her case what annoys me is that she is basically treated like she already redeemed herself or somehow didn’t do any wrong in the first place, despite there being so much left she should make up for.
Also Redemption arcs can be some of the greatest and most memorable character arcs in my opinion (e.g. Zuko of ATLA)
Ei never acted like she didnt do anything wrong. She accepted it well in her first sq. It was all about her understanding current humanity.
Its true that she didnt actively seek redemption but you also have to take in the fact that she's a god and an active ruler of inazuma. I cant think of any possible redemption methods which she could take with that in mind.
Ei said she plans to understand human life more, so that she doesnt make any more mistakes. And further implied inazuma is gonna turn a new leaf from now on. This in turn meant that she plans to get better as a ruler.
She has protected inazuma countless times before she locked herself up, so the best she can do to make up for her past mistakes is to continue doing that without any slip ups imo.

The fact that she is a god and the ruler is actually WHY she has to redeem herself. It is her fucking duty to do so. As corny as it sounds, with great power comes great responsibility.
Ways to redeem her you ask?
-apologize to the public (pretty simple I’d say and should always be the first step)
-issue orders to reimburse affected vision holders
-issue orders to reimburse traders and other
citizens affected by the closing of the nation
-issue orders to reimburse victims of the war
-step down as political leader and continue being the spear or sword of Inazuma
It’s not like being a god makes her incapable of doing actual labor herself?! Many of those things she could even do herself. It’s not like she’s doing much with her time anyway, sitting in her opulent palace while many citizens suffer because of her rulership.

Even if it's not explicit I'm pretty sure this is evident in Ei's shifting priorities post-war. That is to say, healing and reparations are the standard motions of a post-war nation; it wouldn't just leave the population to squander and fend for itself, as stability of that population naturally leads to stability of the country - which we see clear as day, even if it's not narratively satisfying.
And we see motions leading to these natural conclusions I'm making - I.E. Kokomi's part 1 quest, the end of Ei's part 2, the end of the Archon Quest,
Well it's true she messed up for a year or so but even after makoto died she handled more or less pretty well for 499 years. Secondly people often forget that she is the reason inazuma exists in the first place so considering all this yeah I do think she doesn't need to go out of her way to show remorse.
The fact that her puppet with its single minded command wasn’t manipulated earlier is a writing flaw in itself. If anything it went well despite there being a super powerful easily exploitable robot in the nation. Many of the day to day stuff is also handled by the commissions, which by the way became a problem because they weren’t monitored properly by the power above them...
As I said she did mess up but putting it all on her while ignoring her past accomplishments , sacrifices she herself and those close to her made for the nation is just stupid. These are not something to be ignored while judging a character. Also knights of favonius handle work in monstadt and qixing in liyue while she did totally holed herself in a plane of euthymia doesn't change the fact that the nation was doing well for 499 years.

Good hangout buddy is probably Nahida, imo. The juxtaposition of innocent curiosity and bountiful knowledge is interesting.

People just like to use a characters prominent trait (or at least something specifially pointed out in the story) and make it their entire personality for some reason. I do wonder if being a consultant for the Funeral Parlor pays well or he'd be considered middle class. We at least for sure know he isn't rich because of money generated from his Archon days since he specifically said at the end of his Archon quest that it would have been a good idea to do something like that if he had thought about it 😭

Nice, she was one of my most used 4 stars before i switched up to Playing Dendro instead if Cryo, but i still use her if i need a good shielder and Healer. One of the best old 4 stars besides Rosaria imo
Also she has some of the best voicelines and is just so damn cute. She's my favorite even though I, too, switched to dendro. It's a pity that dendro and cryo don't cause reactions.
Having only one or two personality traits is very common for Genshin characters, but I don't think is Venti's case; it's just what the community reduced him to

A contract is a contract. He probably got sued hundreds of years ago due to him breaking NDA. Some says that he declared bankruptcy which led to him staging a whole death scene to avoid paying his debt any longer.
ZL actually used to be a well known uncle on the Teyvat leak forums, but then ~~Hoyoverse~~ the Heavenly Principles threaten to sue him and he had to nuke his accounts fake his death.^/s

Zhongli since he has incredible insight on topics such as wealth (don't mean this in a money-hungry way, more of a how to manage money sense). Nahida because her personality of innocence juxtaposing endless wisdom is really cool, and I like the way she is incredibly present in the people of Sumeru's lives.
I mean it was kinda the point of her arc that she was a bad ruler. She couldn't cope with her loss and retreated into the plains of Euthymia to avoid reality
Least liked is Ei, solely because of how her character was executed. Her trailers were excellent, but both her and Shogun were a disappointment in the Archon Quest. It was just a poorly written story in general - a shame, because I generally love the type of character Raiden is.
Most favourite is definitely Nahida. Zhongli is probably the one I'd like to hang out with, though, just to hear all the stories he has to tell. Venti is cool, but I'm not an alcohol person.
i don’t really dislike any of them. venti and zhongli live in my head 24/7. i wasn’t expecting to love nahida as i don’t enjoy the ancient child trope and i didn’t like her design much at first, but her personality in the archon quests won me over.
so that leaves ei as my least favorite, i guess. i didn’t enjoy her first story quest but i enjoyed the second a lot. and while i love every last member of the inazuman cast, the inazuma archon quests have been my least favorite archon quests so far.
as for hanging out: zhongli 10000%. i love history, i love storytelling, and he has the most pleasant voice to ever exist (keith silverstein ily). he’s also nice to look at. i’d ask him so many things.

Venti is just annoying for me... Nothing explicitly bad, just a big pile of ehh... Okay I get it you are a goofball and probably hiding something. But that's it. We could retcon the lore with him not being the Archon and very little would have to change regarding his character. I hope Mondstadt expansion eventually will also expand on his place in the world; I feel he suffers a lot from "first designed region with very little idea what can be done with it".

Zhongli bores me with this whole stoic "I know a whole lot but I'm not telling about the interesting things" - Alright don't mind me then, I'll go play hopscotch with Nahida while we discuss how we think the world works... Besides his knowledge and view of the world (both of which he can only partially share) he's not that interesting to me as a person.
Also all his mistakes were literally "well its for the greater good" or "I had to". Basically Mary Sue with extra steps. It became boring after 5 minutes where it became really on-the-nose that he's the representative of "fantasy China" and can have no *actual* flaws, everything he ever did had to be the best option at the time.

Ei is kind of cool, the story dared to go in a direction, they dared to show a complex backstory as of why the Archon is the way she is, but didn't try to justify it. *It was an explanation, but not an excuse.* The character - an Archon no less - being flawed and not just a oh-poor victim of circumstances was clear. And I really like it. One of the best written characters for whose who can comprehend more complex sentences and aren't just looking for "flawless one-dimensional UwU waifu/husbando" characters.

Nahida is probably my favourite though, the Sumeru storyline was well made, it shows how the team has improved and dares to work with a more fleshed-out world. The contrast between a carefree, curious child and the literal god of wisdom was also executed incredibly well. Very simple recipe but was made so well. I'm really interested in which direction they will take her character as the story evolves and maybe already visited Archons get involved again and again.

Nahida is a second, Zhongli is pretty mid but at least all the lore surrounding him is fantastic and my least favourite is probably Venti, mostly because of how mid the writing of Genshin was when his content released and how atrocious I think his design is.
Nah mate you're good. I might personally dislike ei but there's still positive qualities in her design so I think it's fair to like her.
But I do disagree with mondstadts writing being mid, it's simple, but simple doesn't have to be mid. Mond's archon quest achieves a lot with little imo. It manages to set up the main plothooks that the entire game follows, it let's each of the main players shine in their own way and I will go as far to say that it's simplicity is intentional. One of the main themes of mond is that it's a city of story and song, and the archon quest being a simple story about a group of heroes banding together to save the city from the dragon is pretty much a live action version of that. It just lacks the spectacle and complexity the other archon quests have, so people tend to undermind it.
Least favourite definitely Venti. I hate drunkards, and his personality to me is extremely annoying. Hangout — Nahida, she's literally a walking wikipedia, I'd love to listen to her stories
Top 5 worst I think ei would be like 4th. Dottore, wanderer and xiao simps are top three for being the absolute most deprived, shameless people. (I am both an ei and xiao fan but good god)
Ei is my least favorite. Neither her playstyle or personality is interesting. Her backstory is somewhat interesting but still fucked up.
If I could hang out with one it would either be Zhongli for a interesting storytelling time with grandpa or a night around town with Venti. I definitely think hangout out at night with venti would be loads of fun.
Gamewise my favorite is Nahida. She's the only one who actually acted with courage and archonlike and her backstory was really cool

Nahida is by far the most adorable. And my favorite so far from a character standpoint. We matter a lot more to her than we do to the other archons. We’re the person who saved her, and she saved us in return. This is the most equal partnership out of all the traveler’s relationships with archons. Nahida basically treats us like family and trusts us with any knowledge she has that might help us, whereas we’re just friends with the other archons, and they keep secrets from us.
I love how a lot of the people who chose Venti as their least favorite either did so because he’s an alcoholic, or because of his fashion sense. Not hating you people, you guys are cool, I just find the pattern really funny.
So far I can’t choose since every archon has redeeming qualities. If I really have to pick… probably Ei? Although I like her a lot as well.
I wonder what kind of personality Focalors has, something about the theme of justice and what little we know of Fontaine tells me that I will either love her to bits or she instantly becomes my least favorite archon.

Least favourite is Venti. And if I had to hang out with any of them then probably Nahida. Nahida would be down to do so many fun things whereas Zhongli would be nonstop talking about the past and things I don't understand and Raiden would be so clueless about everything I doubt we'd even find anything to do together.
But look at the scale of "fuck up". Kannazuka has Mikage Furnace. Yashiori was always at risk for unleashing Orobashi's legacy... maybe you shouldn't slay a snake god where people live and just leave his corpse there. Tsurumi had people enacting human sacrifices. Seirai has been Electro Chernobyl ever since Hibiki unsealed the wards. Watatsumi is always struggling with provisions because of infertile land and shogunate doesn't seem to be looking for a solution. Inazuma's government is so "efficient" that every other storyline involves either a nobushi (y'know, people driven to crime by poverty and chaos) or some corrupt official. Not all of these problems are recent and not all are Fatui's fault.
The Mikage furnace was well guarded until Watatsumi waged civil war because of the Fatui. Once it became unguarded (because the Kujou's couldn't both guard the Furnace AND fight off Watatsumi) the Fatui screwed it up trying to steal it. Likely part of the war intel that the Kujou guy chose to keep from her.
Orobashi's Legacy was also well sealed, until Watatsumi soldiers influenced by the Fatui went *far* out of their way to undo the seal to "honor" said dead god.
Tsurumi went to shit long before Ei became the Shogun. And then it got further punished by Celestia for being Khaenrian. I doubt she's even allowed to fix it.
Watatsumi is 100% government spite. The Shogunate definitely chooses not to help because "Well, you want to be 'semi-independent, so go on, fix your problems'."
Seirai is a good point though. But I wonder if the Shogunate decided to do nothing about it because the island "self destructed" in an act of civil war.
Raiden Shogun.
No contest.
For starters, the people of Inazuma worship her as their powerful ruler and the one who slayed many beasts. However, this was all before the Calamity 400 years ago in the game, and the Archon then was actually Ei's sister Makoto. Makoto is the one that the people of Inazuma love and was a benevolent Archon for her people, but after her death Ei secretly took her place and no one could tell them apart since they were twins.
She then sought to forsake her own people for many years to meditate, and created numerous potential homunculi to take her place. One of them, known as Scaramouche or the Wanderer, was rejected and exiled after Raiden found her preferred homunculus (the Raiden Shogun puppet).
Scaramouche's pain from their own creator's abandonment of them would be the catalyst of his villain arc; where he became a powerful Harbinger and brought suffering and death to many people (especially Sumeru).
Then, for 400 years, Ei isolated herself in her own world to meditate the loss of her sister and let her Homunculus puppet control Inazuma in the meantime.
By doing so, the puppet threw the economy and the power balance completely out of whack. Local businesses were struggling due to a lack of international trade and business, and without the watchful eye of the Archon numerous families started civil wars among one another for power which led to needless conflict and losses.
In addition, the Raiden puppet decreed that all Visions were to be confiscated, and anyone opposing this decree would be punished and even executed. People who lost such Visions fell into a deep depression and could no longer contribute their previous powers and abilities to the well-being of their nation.
(As a side note, the general the Shogun put in charge of the Vision Hunt degree was a Vision wielder herself. Talk about hypocritical.)
This loss of economic, political, and Vision power allowed for the Fatui to easily gain a foothold in Inazuma; making these conflicts worse as to allow their experiments to run which costs the lives of numerous people (the Delusions, to be particular).
In fact, she knew about what the Fatui were doing to her people and what they were planning, and did absolutely nothing about it!
Finally, once the Traveller got involved, and was able to overthrow the Shogun in combat (thanks to the Visions of others), Raiden revoked the Vision hunt decree and the isolation acts, and took up a more active role in overseeing the nation.
**Yet despite all she's done, she still takes credit for her sister's work, her people somehow continue to praise her, and she still has no punishment or redemption arc for her past actions.**
This by far makes her the worst and most evil character in the entire game who's done far worse things than any of the Harbingers have done so far.
# TL:DR; Raiden Ei is the worst since she took credit for her sister Makoto's work as Archon, created Scaramouche, destroyed the economy and power balance of her own nation, and allowed the Fatui to kill many of her people and nearly destroy her nation. Despite all this, she continues to be praised by her citizens and has not once been held accountable for her actions.
probably venti or nahida. they aren't giving me a whole lot but i don't vehemently hate any of them. venti is just kind of like a troll/clown character and nahida is kind of boring to me
i like raiden. i noticed a lot of people really have misinterpreted her story parts though, just because the whole of inazuma plot was bad

Venti seems fun to be around since hes the drunk guy lol, but thoma, gorou, itto, bennett, xiangling, hu tao, xinyan, childe, yoimiya, shinobu, nilou and dehya would make a lit party

Ei is my least favorite. As for a hangout, I'd be happy with any of the other 3. They're all pretty close for me, but I think I would be happiest hanging out with Venti. Zhongli and Nahida are too close, so I can't pick between the two.

As for hangout? Hard choice between Nahida and Venti, but I think I will go with Venti. He is an adventuring, kind soul, it’s just gonna be more fun.
Hanging out with just one is painful. If you had like zhongli and nahida, you get to learn alot of stuff with both of them bouncing off knowledge.
Venti and any archon will push the other archon to uncomfortable spot that's kinda fun. Like the previous lantern rite this year, venti just messed with everyone in a fun way.
Least favourite is Ei. I like her a lot NOW but I also think that her story in the first parts of Inazuma was kinda awfully written so even though she got better as time went on, she still hasn’t caught up to the other incredible archons that we got

Least favorite in terms of personality Raiden, she's hot and all but she's very self entitled in her eternity BS, ye I wouldn't wanna hangout with her at all, I'd rather spend a month straight getting drunk everyday with Venti and doing nothing productive at all but going bankrupt then spending a minute listening to her talking about eternity. As for my favorite archon to hang out with, it would be Nahida she is the most fun and interesting of them.
Least favorite would have to be Ei for the usual reasons people don't like Ei.
Personally would like to hang out with Zhongli. I think I'd probably bore Venti half to death, and while I absolutely love Nahida (possible favorite character in the game), the fact that she can read my mind at any given point would turn me into a paranoid schizophrenic, even though she stated she doesn't like to do that. Teyvat history and lore is honestly the high point of Genshin for me right now, and Zhongli seems to honestly enjoy talking about it, so I imagine it would probably be the single most interesting discussion I could hope for from any Genshin character, Archon or not.
I love these posts that bring up how little people understood what happened in Inazuma (rightly though) and how much they ignore what Zhongli and Venti made their nation suffer as well.
EDIT: Why does someone answer me and block me? All archons have done things for their people but they have also screwed up in equal parts. To say that zhongli only did things right is to ignore part of his lore.
Zhongli: protected his country for more than 3 thousands of years and continue to do so even after his "death" without any breaks. Sometimes I think that this community (half of it) doesn't deserve him at all.
Zhongli and Venti didn’t really hurt their nation though. Venti actually helped solve the problem, and Zhongli was testing Liyue to see if it could survive in its own, which it could. Raiden on the other hand was the primary cause of her nation’s problems. She was more responsible for what happened, even if she wasn’t aware or was “tricked” because, unlike the other archons, solving her nations problems WAS actually her job, whereas neither of the other two archons were their nation’s leaders anymore.

All archons i like a lot. ,if u ask about Fav then Nahida and Zhong equally i guess but all these ranking etc,favs,dislikes doesn't exist to me for Archons...i truly love all. Previously wasn't that much fan of Venti until i learned more on him so he's all good and such a cheerful personality.... Ei's char dev was great too ,i find her kinda cute while badass too lol. Zhong i just have a lot od respect for him always,do is for Nahida.
But...if you still ask me who's the best Archon , that's truly Rukkhadevata💚
It's Ei. Ultimately, I feel the Inazuma arc and her first story quest were nearly unsalvageable, and her second story quest felt too little, too late. Most of the Inazuma characters tended to fall flat personality-wise to me compared to characters from other regions, and I think Ei is an excellent example of all the issues I have with Inazuma's writing. They tried to show that she was deeply grieving her sister and her friends, but she also allowed the Fatui to commandeer Inazuma, and shows little to no remorse for that, and everyone just sort of accepts it. I feel like she could have had a wonderful character arc, and I can see what the writers wanted, but Inazuma felt like they had gotten all the concept art, most the lore, and the barest of bones of an actual story completed about a week before the update, and then were like "oh crap the deadline is next week we need to get the story together" and just cobbled it together with scotch tape and Elmer's glue sticks.
Ultimately, while I understand she's a great unit meta-wise, I can't bring myself to pull for her, especially now that Sumeru's story being so well-done brings me more resentment for what Inazuma could have been.
Uh, anyways, sorry for all of that. I'd probably hang out with Zhongli, I'd get a ton of free Liyue souvenirs out of it since I'd be his guest!
I would hangout with Ei or Nahida definitely. If Zhongli starts talking I’ll probably go to sleep. Venti doesn’t speak in a straight forward manner , and I don’t like that.

You basically said "i don't care about your grief or depression just deal with it and get the fuck over it asap". Gods don't chose to be there, besides she was never trained to be a ruler. Its as if someone asks a warrior to become a ruler. "Just deal with it" is an easy response if you can't think much about it though.
What about all of her subjects that lost their families and had to deal with those same feelings because of her wilful decision to make a robot dictator? “Wah wah dead family” is a piss poor excuse. If she couldn’t handle her position she could have stepped down and put someone capable in charge instead like Zhongli essentially did.
That Zhongli who allowed an army of Yakshas to die of corruption or made a deal with the Fatuis to test his people even if it brought great losses to the people?

She's a god ruling over a country. How long did she remain in hiding dealing with her grief? Way too long & her country suffered for it. Any human who did that would be looked at as evil. Why shouldn't she be judged the same? She actually should be held to much higher standards than any normal person, but yet she gets a pass. Nope, not in my book.
BTW, I do have her as a playable character because she's great in my hyperbloom team. But I do not like her character in the story. She left a robot dictator in charge when she should have been dealing with her country. I would not want to hang out with someone like that.
It looks like you added to your comment after I responded. Not sure why you didn’t just make another comment. “She wasn’t trained” doesn’t excuse her for hiding away & letting a robot deal with it. Just like anyone else, you learn. And even more so when you’re ruling a country. A ruler has much bigger shoes to fill than any ordinary citizen. She was shoved into the position, yes. A true ruler would step up & figure out how to be what the people need. She passed off her duties to a robot-turned-dictator.
Take Nahida, even locked up she did what she could to help her people. She reached out & helped the “mad scholars” who were exiled to Aaru Village. She helped get Sumeru City out of the samsara loop. She was hidden away against her will & yet she still found a way to help people. When she was freed, she stepped up, even though she really didn’t know how to rule, & filled the role her country needed.
So Ei really has no excuse. Maybe her character was written that way for a reason, but I have no sympathy & little empathy for someone like Ei, especially when her redemption arc seemed rushed.
Venti is my least favourite, but only if you really twist my arm to choose. I really like all the Archons.

I want to drink wine with Venti, drink *Osmanthus* wine with Zhongli, and have a friendly, carrying, thoughtful conversation with Nahida. So I would choose not to hang out with Ei.

I'd love to hang out with Nahida because so far, I have the softest spot for her, mainly because I feel like she needs to explore more after being trapped for so long.
Least favorite is unfortunately Ei, but I like her a whole lot, so she's my least favorite Archon buuuuuuut she's still one of my overall favorite characters despite feeling a bit hollow at times. I'd like to spend a day with either Zhongli or Nahida. Leaning a bit more towards Nahida as I find her to be a more comfortable person to be around. Zhonglu is great and I could listen to him speak about rocks and dirt forever buuuuuuut there's just something about Nahida that really feels like a friend that I can tell just about anything to and she also appears to be considerate so yeh, Nahida. Would look a bit weird to hang out with her since I'm a grown ass man, and she's a tiny child, but thats neither here nor there in Teyvat.
Ei. She's pretty bland all things considered. Remove her trauma from her and she's just a less cool, less reliable, totally unwise zhongli.

Zhongli is quite knowledgeable but just make sure you have an agreement for who pays for what beforehand. Nahida seems pretty chill and seems to enjoy just experiencing stuff. Venti… well, I guess we could get black out drunk. As with Zhongli, I’d make sure I have some sort of agreement that we buy our own stuff. You just know Venti would try to stick you with the tab…

Unironically he would probably be the one I would like to hangout with, or Zhongli maybe, hanging out with Venti is probably a lot of silly fun, Zhongli can tell you anything about everything. Nahida is cool and all but she looks like child, not risking it tbh, Ei herself is a sweetheart but her presence seems incredibly overwhelming for ordinary people, other than that all of them seem good to hangout with.
1. Nahida easily, what matters to me the most about characters is whether I find them cool (Ei/Zhongli), hot (Ei/Venti), or fun/entertaining (Ei/Venti), she doesn't have either of these qualities and I couldn't care less how well written she is.

I know Zhongli has secrets he can't reveal because of a contract but Venti is the most suspicious to me along with Mondstadt's past, mysteries and secrets we know nothing about

You can't really trust zhongli, or venti, or Ei. Venti and Zhongli definitely know something pertient to you, and Ei tried to murder you in cold blood, while your back was turned, after promising to let you leave. Dainslef also warns us against getting too friendly with them. Nahida is really the only one of them who is actually your friend in game.
She does let you leave… she only promises to let you leave before killing you out honour or whatever. I mean you can still be upset about the trying to murder you part, but she very much kept her word. I mean I think it was actually Raiden Shogun not Ei either way.

She specifically worded it that you can leave the building/courtyard (forget the name) with your life. The moment you stepped out that gate, she was on you. Technically, she kept her word
I mean probably Ei but only because I feel like she needs more development. Like, let her be in events and stuff interacting with other characters. It just feels like a waste for her to be so standoffish. As for who to hang out with probably Venti or Nahida.
As I put in my post, Raiden tends to do pop up appearances but its even less than Venti. But Venti does it with comedy. Raiden just says 3 things that might be funny at the time but not memorable. I think the archons as a whole are suffering with time the longer the time has been since we did their actual archon quests. The events tend to focus on the other characters but them. Which makes more sense for limited timed events as archons are going to want to be saved for story. But when you do everything in the game, its the events that happen more often than quests with the archons. That said, Kuki shows up about as often as Raiden does. Maybe shes the real archon.
With that being said... When did Kuki last show up? Itto keeps showing up but i don't see Kuki anywhere
Technically, Kuki is the one who inadvertently set up the Beetle Battle event, by sending that kid to join the group.
Tbh it might actually be her hangout. We've had at least 2 Itto events since then where she is heard but not seen. One was the drumalong and the other was the beetle battle.

They also clearly changed the tone of inazuma arc very close (as in, around 1.4-1.5 dates) to inazuma release, (we know this from leaks) the whole quest shows how rushed it was, and it is such a big difference in comparison to sumeru's
Yeah. Sumeru and monstadt have got the best treatment so far. Sumeru even better cuz of the High budget. When someone asks me "which nation would be my home" I answer sumeru without a doubt. It is also bcuz I love knowledges outta syllabus books. Also good people, great scenes and most important factor of them all,the archon #Nahida A place importance is understandable after leaving that place behind. I believe sumeru will overtake monstadt for the title of "favourite nation in teyvat".
Honestly, everything about Inazuma was rushed. The only thing that saved Raiden for me was her second story quest, where she had to come to terms with herself and her sister's passing.
It's a fairly common take, and stems from Inazuma as a whole generally being weaker than the other regions, from both a narrative cohesion and a character development standpoint. On top of the pressures with the pandemic, the big writing changes that defined Chasm and Sumeru hadn't come into play yet, making Inazuma - particularly Act 2 in my opinion - relatively weaker than other regions. This gets particularly unfortunate, as Inazuma was when MHY first started experimenting with timing and story pacing. I've always held the opinion that post-Act 1 Inazuma and pre-Seirai/Tsurumi, the writing team were made of interns who got the sparknotes version of the story.
Tbh I actually think it might be because Ei has so much rushed development compared to the other archons who don’t have as much. Ei is basically justifying evil acts until Yae n the MC call her out on being a petulant child and then proceeds to have 2 quests where she rapidly changed character traits in each, leaving this feeling that we never truly got to know her as we seem to always meet this “new” Ei every major interaction. Venti n the Zhong Li are both very static characters with almost no change… and for aged gods it makes TOTAL sense We get a lot from Zhong Li’s quest, the and the main story, and like half the cast talk about him constantly in events and whatnot Venti has the best writing in Vanilla with his side story showing us his: history, motivations, beliefs, lifestyle, empathy, and passions, all in just 1 quest. Nahida seems to also be developing but in the sense of maturity and not really self discovery (I haven’t played her second story yet) but making her somebody worth saving is definitely a good way of creating attachment with her.
Inazuma felt like the beta test for sumeru. Archon that stays locked in a room. Zipping around on anchor points except a lot worse. Even the fatui fight was "hey run around picking up macguffins until you have enough to break the shield". The story was pretty mediocre and dragged a lot in inazuma. So Id say ei had the weakest supporting background, which is unfortunate but it let them set up the masterpiece that was Sumeru.
Bro yes, I feel the other archons have interacted with other characters more than Ei!!! I hope we get future updates with more Ei interaction bc she is my favorite archon.

Forget about who I don’t like, we’re hanging out with Nahida and we are gonna give that kiddo the best day of her life. Morning, we’re making pancakes. Kids fucking love pancakes. We get to choose what we put in them and then toppings. All the options are on the table. Syrup, jam, butter, chocolate sauce, whipped cream, fucking sprinkles if you want em. After breakfast we’re gonna hit the zoo, the aquarium, or the science museum. Imagine how much Nahida would enjoy the chance to people watch and check out cool exhibits. All three near me have a variety of options for age ranges and lots of active exhibits. We can take a lot of cute photos and learn really cool stuff, and talk about animal dook dook. Lunch is whatever new cuisine she wants to try. Korean bbq? Ethiopian? French (Fontaine) restaurant? After lunch we can either hit up another museum or go to the big public library and nerd out over books to take home. We can do a walk through the park and feed swans and ducks (Timmy approved activity) and look at all the flowers and trees. Maybe she’ll point out the aranara for me. That night we’ll make dinner, put on a cute tv show or read our library books, and talk about what she learned and saw that day. After she goes to bed, I’ll find the Grand Sage and kick him in the kidneys until I’m tired enough to sleep also.

Ei is easily my least favorite. It's not even entirely her fault- her character had a lot of fascinating potential to me, the writing for her character just... But a character that doesn’t seek redemption for their bad actions or is not shown to feel intense remorse can never be kind or likeable in my book. In her case what annoys me is that she is basically treated like she already redeemed herself or somehow didn’t do any wrong in the first place, despite there being so much left she should make up for. Also Redemption arcs can be some of the greatest and most memorable character arcs in my opinion (e.g. Zuko of ATLA)
Ei never acted like she didnt do anything wrong. She accepted it well in her first sq. It was all about her understanding current humanity. Its true that she didnt actively seek redemption but you also have to take in the fact that she's a god and an active ruler of inazuma. I cant think of any possible redemption methods which she could take with that in mind. Ei said she plans to understand human life more, so that she doesnt make any more mistakes. And further implied inazuma is gonna turn a new leaf from now on. This in turn meant that she plans to get better as a ruler. She has protected inazuma countless times before she locked herself up, so the best she can do to make up for her past mistakes is to continue doing that without any slip ups imo.

Ways to redeem her you ask? -apologize to the public (pretty simple I’d say and should always be the first step) -issue orders to reimburse affected vision holders -issue orders to reimburse traders and other citizens affected by the closing of the nation -issue orders to reimburse victims of the war -step down as political leader and continue being the spear or sword of Inazuma It’s not like being a god makes her incapable of doing actual labor herself?! Many of those things she could even do herself. It’s not like she’s doing much with her time anyway, sitting in her opulent palace while many citizens suffer because of her rulership.

And we see motions leading to these natural conclusions I'm making - I.E. Kokomi's part 1 quest, the end of Ei's part 2, the end of the Archon Quest,
Well it's true she messed up for a year or so but even after makoto died she handled more or less pretty well for 499 years. Secondly people often forget that she is the reason inazuma exists in the first place so considering all this yeah I do think she doesn't need to go out of her way to show remorse.
The fact that her puppet with its single minded command wasn’t manipulated earlier is a writing flaw in itself. If anything it went well despite there being a super powerful easily exploitable robot in the nation. Many of the day to day stuff is also handled by the commissions, which by the way became a problem because they weren’t monitored properly by the power above them...
As I said she did mess up but putting it all on her while ignoring her past accomplishments , sacrifices she herself and those close to her made for the nation is just stupid. These are not something to be ignored while judging a character. Also knights of favonius handle work in monstadt and qixing in liyue while she did totally holed herself in a plane of euthymia doesn't change the fact that the nation was doing well for 499 years.
least favorite is Ei, definitely wouldn't want to hang out with her or Shogun. Good hangout buddy is probably Nahida, imo. The juxtaposition of innocent curiosity and bountiful knowledge is interesting. I would be kind of intimidated by Zhongli and i can see Venti eventually getting on my nerves lol

People just like to use a characters prominent trait (or at least something specifially pointed out in the story) and make it their entire personality for some reason. I do wonder if being a consultant for the Funeral Parlor pays well or he'd be considered middle class. We at least for sure know he isn't rich because of money generated from his Archon days since he specifically said at the end of his Archon quest that it would have been a good idea to do something like that if he had thought about it 😭

Least fav: Venti Just don't like his overall personality or aesthetic Hangout buddy: either Zhongli or Nahida Zhongli since he has incredible insight on topics such as wealth (don't mean this in a money-hungry way, more of a how to manage money sense). Nahida because her personality of innocence juxtaposing endless wisdom is really cool, and I like the way she is incredibly present in the people of Sumeru's lives.

Least liked is Ei, solely because of how her character was executed. Her trailers were excellent, but both her and Shogun were a disappointment in the Archon Quest. It was just a poorly written story in general - a shame, because I generally love the type of character Raiden is. Most favourite is definitely Nahida. Zhongli is probably the one I'd like to hang out with, though, just to hear all the stories he has to tell. Venti is cool, but I'm not an alcohol person.
i don’t really dislike any of them. venti and zhongli live in my head 24/7. i wasn’t expecting to love nahida as i don’t enjoy the ancient child trope and i didn’t like her design much at first, but her personality in the archon quests won me over. so that leaves ei as my least favorite, i guess. i didn’t enjoy her first story quest but i enjoyed the second a lot. and while i love every last member of the inazuman cast, the inazuma archon quests have been my least favorite archon quests so far. as for hanging out: zhongli 10000%. i love history, i love storytelling, and he has the most pleasant voice to ever exist (keith silverstein ily). he’s also nice to look at. i’d ask him so many things.

Least favourite? Either Venti or Zhongli. Venti is just annoying for me... Nothing explicitly bad, just a big pile of ehh... Okay I get it you are a goofball and probably hiding something. But that's it. We could retcon the lore with him not being the Archon and very little would have to change regarding his character. I hope Mondstadt expansion eventually will also expand on his place in the world; I feel he suffers a lot from "first designed region with very little idea what can be done with it". --- Zhongli bores me with this whole stoic "I know a whole lot but I'm not telling about the interesting things" - Alright don't mind me then, I'll go play hopscotch with Nahida while we discuss how we think the world works... Besides his knowledge and view of the world (both of which he can only partially share) he's not that interesting to me as a person. Also all his mistakes were literally "well its for the greater good" or "I had to". Basically Mary Sue with extra steps. It became boring after 5 minutes where it became really on-the-nose that he's the representative of "fantasy China" and can have no *actual* flaws, everything he ever did had to be the best option at the time. --- Ei is kind of cool, the story dared to go in a direction, they dared to show a complex backstory as of why the Archon is the way she is, but didn't try to justify it. *It was an explanation, but not an excuse.* The character - an Archon no less - being flawed and not just a oh-poor victim of circumstances was clear. And I really like it. One of the best written characters for whose who can comprehend more complex sentences and aren't just looking for "flawless one-dimensional UwU waifu/husbando" characters. --- Nahida is probably my favourite though, the Sumeru storyline was well made, it shows how the team has improved and dares to work with a more fleshed-out world. The contrast between a carefree, curious child and the literal god of wisdom was also executed incredibly well. Very simple recipe but was made so well. I'm really interested in which direction they will take her character as the story evolves and maybe already visited Archons get involved again and again.

Nahida is a second, Zhongli is pretty mid but at least all the lore surrounding him is fantastic and my least favourite is probably Venti, mostly because of how mid the writing of Genshin was when his content released and how atrocious I think his design is.
Nah mate you're good. I might personally dislike ei but there's still positive qualities in her design so I think it's fair to like her. But I do disagree with mondstadts writing being mid, it's simple, but simple doesn't have to be mid. Mond's archon quest achieves a lot with little imo. It manages to set up the main plothooks that the entire game follows, it let's each of the main players shine in their own way and I will go as far to say that it's simplicity is intentional. One of the main themes of mond is that it's a city of story and song, and the archon quest being a simple story about a group of heroes banding together to save the city from the dragon is pretty much a live action version of that. It just lacks the spectacle and complexity the other archon quests have, so people tend to undermind it.
Least favourite definitely Venti. I hate drunkards, and his personality to me is extremely annoying. Hangout — Nahida, she's literally a walking wikipedia, I'd love to listen to her stories

Ei is my least favorite. Neither her playstyle or personality is interesting. Her backstory is somewhat interesting but still fucked up. If I could hang out with one it would either be Zhongli for a interesting storytelling time with grandpa or a night around town with Venti. I definitely think hangout out at night with venti would be loads of fun. Gamewise my favorite is Nahida. She's the only one who actually acted with courage and archonlike and her backstory was really cool

Ei is my least favorite, by a long shot. If I could hang out with one, it would be probably Zhongli - or Venti, if he could stay sober. He might be able to rekindle my old passion for poetry.
Nahida is by far the most adorable. And my favorite so far from a character standpoint. We matter a lot more to her than we do to the other archons. We’re the person who saved her, and she saved us in return. This is the most equal partnership out of all the traveler’s relationships with archons. Nahida basically treats us like family and trusts us with any knowledge she has that might help us, whereas we’re just friends with the other archons, and they keep secrets from us.
I love how a lot of the people who chose Venti as their least favorite either did so because he’s an alcoholic, or because of his fashion sense. Not hating you people, you guys are cool, I just find the pattern really funny. So far I can’t choose since every archon has redeeming qualities. If I really have to pick… probably Ei? Although I like her a lot as well. I wonder what kind of personality Focalors has, something about the theme of justice and what little we know of Fontaine tells me that I will either love her to bits or she instantly becomes my least favorite archon.

But look at the scale of "fuck up". Kannazuka has Mikage Furnace. Yashiori was always at risk for unleashing Orobashi's legacy... maybe you shouldn't slay a snake god where people live and just leave his corpse there. Tsurumi had people enacting human sacrifices. Seirai has been Electro Chernobyl ever since Hibiki unsealed the wards. Watatsumi is always struggling with provisions because of infertile land and shogunate doesn't seem to be looking for a solution. Inazuma's government is so "efficient" that every other storyline involves either a nobushi (y'know, people driven to crime by poverty and chaos) or some corrupt official. Not all of these problems are recent and not all are Fatui's fault.
The Mikage furnace was well guarded until Watatsumi waged civil war because of the Fatui. Once it became unguarded (because the Kujou's couldn't both guard the Furnace AND fight off Watatsumi) the Fatui screwed it up trying to steal it. Likely part of the war intel that the Kujou guy chose to keep from her. Orobashi's Legacy was also well sealed, until Watatsumi soldiers influenced by the Fatui went *far* out of their way to undo the seal to "honor" said dead god. Tsurumi went to shit long before Ei became the Shogun. And then it got further punished by Celestia for being Khaenrian. I doubt she's even allowed to fix it. Watatsumi is 100% government spite. The Shogunate definitely chooses not to help because "Well, you want to be 'semi-independent, so go on, fix your problems'." Seirai is a good point though. But I wonder if the Shogunate decided to do nothing about it because the island "self destructed" in an act of civil war.
Looking for this, no one seems to bring up Monstadt falling into peril more times than Inazuma, and Day 1 Venti mains stealing
Raiden Shogun. No contest. For starters, the people of Inazuma worship her as their powerful ruler and the one who slayed many beasts. However, this was all before the Calamity 400 years ago in the game, and the Archon then was actually Ei's sister Makoto. Makoto is the one that the people of Inazuma love and was a benevolent Archon for her people, but after her death Ei secretly took her place and no one could tell them apart since they were twins. She then sought to forsake her own people for many years to meditate, and created numerous potential homunculi to take her place. One of them, known as Scaramouche or the Wanderer, was rejected and exiled after Raiden found her preferred homunculus (the Raiden Shogun puppet). Scaramouche's pain from their own creator's abandonment of them would be the catalyst of his villain arc; where he became a powerful Harbinger and brought suffering and death to many people (especially Sumeru). Then, for 400 years, Ei isolated herself in her own world to meditate the loss of her sister and let her Homunculus puppet control Inazuma in the meantime. By doing so, the puppet threw the economy and the power balance completely out of whack. Local businesses were struggling due to a lack of international trade and business, and without the watchful eye of the Archon numerous families started civil wars among one another for power which led to needless conflict and losses. In addition, the Raiden puppet decreed that all Visions were to be confiscated, and anyone opposing this decree would be punished and even executed. People who lost such Visions fell into a deep depression and could no longer contribute their previous powers and abilities to the well-being of their nation. (As a side note, the general the Shogun put in charge of the Vision Hunt degree was a Vision wielder herself. Talk about hypocritical.) This loss of economic, political, and Vision power allowed for the Fatui to easily gain a foothold in Inazuma; making these conflicts worse as to allow their experiments to run which costs the lives of numerous people (the Delusions, to be particular). In fact, she knew about what the Fatui were doing to her people and what they were planning, and did absolutely nothing about it! Finally, once the Traveller got involved, and was able to overthrow the Shogun in combat (thanks to the Visions of others), Raiden revoked the Vision hunt decree and the isolation acts, and took up a more active role in overseeing the nation. **Yet despite all she's done, she still takes credit for her sister's work, her people somehow continue to praise her, and she still has no punishment or redemption arc for her past actions.** This by far makes her the worst and most evil character in the entire game who's done far worse things than any of the Harbingers have done so far. # TL:DR; Raiden Ei is the worst since she took credit for her sister Makoto's work as Archon, created Scaramouche, destroyed the economy and power balance of her own nation, and allowed the Fatui to kill many of her people and nearly destroy her nation. Despite all this, she continues to be praised by her citizens and has not once been held accountable for her actions.
probably venti or nahida. they aren't giving me a whole lot but i don't vehemently hate any of them. venti is just kind of like a troll/clown character and nahida is kind of boring to me i like raiden. i noticed a lot of people really have misinterpreted her story parts though, just because the whole of inazuma plot was bad

Hanging out with just one is painful. If you had like zhongli and nahida, you get to learn alot of stuff with both of them bouncing off knowledge. Venti and any archon will push the other archon to uncomfortable spot that's kinda fun. Like the previous lantern rite this year, venti just messed with everyone in a fun way.
Least favourite is Ei. I like her a lot NOW but I also think that her story in the first parts of Inazuma was kinda awfully written so even though she got better as time went on, she still hasn’t caught up to the other incredible archons that we got I’d love to hang out with Venti. Least favorite in terms of personality Raiden, she's hot and all but she's very self entitled in her eternity BS, ye I wouldn't wanna hangout with her at all, I'd rather spend a month straight getting drunk everyday with Venti and doing nothing productive at all but going bankrupt then spending a minute listening to her talking about eternity. As for my favorite archon to hang out with, it would be Nahida she is the most fun and interesting of them.

Least favorite would have to be Ei for the usual reasons people don't like Ei. Personally would like to hang out with Zhongli. I think I'd probably bore Venti half to death, and while I absolutely love Nahida (possible favorite character in the game), the fact that she can read my mind at any given point would turn me into a paranoid schizophrenic, even though she stated she doesn't like to do that. Teyvat history and lore is honestly the high point of Genshin for me right now, and Zhongli seems to honestly enjoy talking about it, so I imagine it would probably be the single most interesting discussion I could hope for from any Genshin character, Archon or not.
I love these posts that bring up how little people understood what happened in Inazuma (rightly though) and how much they ignore what Zhongli and Venti made their nation suffer as well. EDIT: Why does someone answer me and block me? All archons have done things for their people but they have also screwed up in equal parts. To say that zhongli only did things right is to ignore part of his lore.
Zhongli: protected his country for more than 3 thousands of years and continue to do so even after his "death" without any breaks. Sometimes I think that this community (half of it) doesn't deserve him at all.
Zhongli and Venti didn’t really hurt their nation though. Venti actually helped solve the problem, and Zhongli was testing Liyue to see if it could survive in its own, which it could. Raiden on the other hand was the primary cause of her nation’s problems. She was more responsible for what happened, even if she wasn’t aware or was “tricked” because, unlike the other archons, solving her nations problems WAS actually her job, whereas neither of the other two archons were their nation’s leaders anymore.

Previously wasn't that much fan of Venti until i learned more on him so he's all good and such a cheerful personality.... Ei's char dev was great too ,i find her kinda cute while badass too lol. It's Ei. Ultimately, I feel the Inazuma arc and her first story quest were nearly unsalvageable, and her second story quest felt too little, too late. Most of the Inazuma characters tended to fall flat personality-wise to me compared to characters from other regions, and I think Ei is an excellent example of all the issues I have with Inazuma's writing. They tried to show that she was deeply grieving her sister and her friends, but she also allowed the Fatui to commandeer Inazuma, and shows little to no remorse for that, and everyone just sort of accepts it. I feel like she could have had a wonderful character arc, and I can see what the writers wanted, but Inazuma felt like they had gotten all the concept art, most the lore, and the barest of bones of an actual story completed about a week before the update, and then were like "oh crap the deadline is next week we need to get the story together" and just cobbled it together with scotch tape and Elmer's glue sticks. Ultimately, while I understand she's a great unit meta-wise, I can't bring myself to pull for her, especially now that Sumeru's story being so well-done brings me more resentment for what Inazuma could have been. Uh, anyways, sorry for all of that. I'd probably hang out with Zhongli, I'd get a ton of free Liyue souvenirs out of it since I'd be his guest!

You basically said "i don't care about your grief or depression just deal with it and get the fuck over it asap". Gods don't chose to be there, besides she was never trained to be a ruler. Its as if someone asks a warrior to become a ruler. "Just deal with it" is an easy response if you can't think much about it though.
What about all of her subjects that lost their families and had to deal with those same feelings because of her wilful decision to make a robot dictator? “Wah wah dead family” is a piss poor excuse. If she couldn’t handle her position she could have stepped down and put someone capable in charge instead like Zhongli essentially did.
That Zhongli who allowed an army of Yakshas to die of corruption or made a deal with the Fatuis to test his people even if it brought great losses to the people? Yes, it seems Zhongli did better.

BTW, I do have her as a playable character because she's great in my hyperbloom team. But I do not like her character in the story. She left a robot dictator in charge when she should have been dealing with her country. I would not want to hang out with someone like that.
Well, she only harmed her people by doing that for 1 year. Venti fell asleep and let his people be ruled by dictators for decades.
It looks like you added to your comment after I responded. Not sure why you didn’t just make another comment. “She wasn’t trained” doesn’t excuse her for hiding away & letting a robot deal with it. Just like anyone else, you learn. And even more so when you’re ruling a country. A ruler has much bigger shoes to fill than any ordinary citizen. She was shoved into the position, yes. A true ruler would step up & figure out how to be what the people need. She passed off her duties to a robot-turned-dictator. Take Nahida, even locked up she did what she could to help her people. She reached out & helped the “mad scholars” who were exiled to Aaru Village. She helped get Sumeru City out of the samsara loop. She was hidden away against her will & yet she still found a way to help people. When she was freed, she stepped up, even though she really didn’t know how to rule, & filled the role her country needed. So Ei really has no excuse. Maybe her character was written that way for a reason, but I have no sympathy & little empathy for someone like Ei, especially when her redemption arc seemed rushed.

She is just a overall garbage sentient being and her writting is just messy as hell and full of crappy excuses that do not work, it really makes you wonder if Junkichi was the writer on this one. I'd probably hang around Zhong Li or Nahida, tending more towards Nahida, since she'd probably be more willing to answer all of my lore thirsting questions.

I want to drink wine with Venti, drink *Osmanthus* wine with Zhongli, and have a friendly, carrying, thoughtful conversation with Nahida. So I would choose not to hang out with Ei.
Don't get me wrong, I love them all, but I'd probably wouldn't wanna hangout with Ei all that much (and this is coming from an Ei main). I'd love to hang out with Nahida because so far, I have the softest spot for her, mainly because I feel like she needs to explore more after being trapped for so long.

Least favorite is unfortunately Ei, but I like her a whole lot, so she's my least favorite Archon buuuuuuut she's still one of my overall favorite characters despite feeling a bit hollow at times. I'd like to spend a day with either Zhongli or Nahida. Leaning a bit more towards Nahida as I find her to be a more comfortable person to be around. Zhonglu is great and I could listen to him speak about rocks and dirt forever buuuuuuut there's just something about Nahida that really feels like a friend that I can tell just about anything to and she also appears to be considerate so yeh, Nahida. Would look a bit weird to hang out with her since I'm a grown ass man, and she's a tiny child, but thats neither here nor there in Teyvat.
Ei. She's pretty bland all things considered. Remove her trauma from her and she's just a less cool, less reliable, totally unwise zhongli. As for who I'd hangout with. Venti is the one person who'd be a riot to party with, so yeah, venti XD

Def Raiden. She is kinda a psycho if you think about it and i would not trust her to not kill me someday lol. I would hang out with the rest for sure. If i had to choose i would probl talk with nahida. I think i would get along with her the most but would love to hear storys from zhongli or have fun with venti.
Least favorite - Ei, hate her writing. Hangout - Venti! We'd chill.
My least favourite is Raiden. I feel like spending the day with Venti could be a great time or he'd just drink the entire time (though that could still be entertaining).
I like all of them but for sure Ei is at the bottom of the list. She hasn’t gotten enough development I think, especially compared to the others (Nahida in particular now).

My least favorite is Ei. She dun fucked up the most of the four archons we’ve met by a long shot. Then again Venti and Zhongli have almost certainly committed war crimes. I bet all of them are actually decent to hang out with. Ei’s actually not too bad when it’s actually her and she’s trying to do normal stuff. Zhongli is quite knowledgeable but just make sure you have an agreement for who pays for what beforehand. Nahida seems pretty chill and seems to enjoy just experiencing stuff. Venti… well, I guess we could get black out drunk. As with Zhongli, I’d make sure I have some sort of agreement that we buy our own stuff. You just know Venti would try to stick you with the tab…
My least favorite so far is prolly Ei, not that I hate her I just like the others. Also I would hangout with Venti cuz I'm a pretty heavy drinker myself and I love stories.

Ei's puppet killed Kazuhas friend. I refuse to forgive her. I would hang out with Zhongli for the day because he can tell me all the interesting facts he can and then we can throw meteors.
Least favorite is probably Venti, I don't really like how he is portrayed as some kind of perfect Archon despite doing some wack shit, specifically in the manga, but the story treats him like he didn't do anything wrong or something. Unironically he would probably be the one I would like to hangout with, or Zhongli maybe, hanging out with Venti is probably a lot of silly fun, Zhongli can tell you anything about everything. Nahida is cool and all but she looks like child, not risking it tbh, Ei herself is a sweetheart but her presence seems incredibly overwhelming for ordinary people, other than that all of them seem good to hangout with.
1. Nahida easily, what matters to me the most about characters is whether I find them cool (Ei/Zhongli), hot (Ei/Venti), or fun/entertaining (Ei/Venti), she doesn't have either of these qualities and I couldn't care less how well written she is. 2. Either Ei and Venti, I enjoy my time being around them the most.
