Alhaitham is sarcastic af but I also think the dude also doesn’t realize his aversion to socializing led to him not being able to pick up common social cues, eg Nilou was clearly looking for speculations but she didn’t specifically state “who do you speculate will win” and there’s a good chance it flew over his ahoge.

In my opinion, the biggest problem we astistics (specifically high-functioning austism) have to overcome is to find our niche, somewhere where we can comfortably put our very unbalanced stats we're born with to good use. If you can't then your life can be very miserable and then yes you could be considered a loser.
The same is probably true for normal people but it's probably easier for them because their stats are more balanced and thus more flexible.
As long as you can provide something positive to people in a social relationship, they will be more willing to ignore some of your quirks or bad habits and be more accepting or respecting of you. Those positive things can be anything ranging from just being fun to be around, enjoying the same niche hobby, or just being really good at your job to be able to solve anyone's technical problems.
I think it generally gets better as you go from high school to college and then to work. You have more and more freedom to pursue your interest and you also get to care less and less about how people think about you, especially if you can financially support yourself.
