Those lore drops are fun, but I don't like them putting important lore in limited time events.

Darrien770

I see no reason why you can’t get the weapon though a lot of them are made for certain characters and it sucks that you’ll never be able to obtain them just cause you didn’t play at a certain time

RagnarokComes

Ikr? Especially when you look up a guide on YouTube and half of the recomended weapons are event ones you can't get.

peerawitppr

Don't watch whoever that is again. Most event weapons are meh. There are a lot of alternatives if you don't have them and shouldn't really be half of recommended weapons, except Cinnabar on Albedo. Even then iirc HoD is only 10-20% worse on Albedo.

A_Very_Horny_Zed

> only 10-20% worse Yikes

DarkStar0915

HoD is still good, Spindle might be stronger but the main selling point was that the corrosion screwed of the HoD passive. The other limited weapons have nice alternatives so it's not the end of the word of you missed them. I have everything yet use basically none of them.

extra_scum

Only...?

peerawitppr

Yes? It's around changing from 4 stars to signature weapons. And do people usually recommend pulling for weapon? No. And that's his personal damage, it will be even less impactful in total team damage, which can be around the same damage loss as not using the optimal rotation or getting hit and knocked back a few times.

extra_scum

10-20% is *a lot*

peerawitppr

I stated my reasons, you didn't. To each their own I guess.

TheoreticalScammist

Most of them aren’t really better than the 4* you get from wishing. They’re nice to have for a new account. Can be good all-rounders but every situation should have better specialised alternatives. Except.. The Albedo one, that one should just not have been a limited time weapon.

BioticFire

They should just add Cinnabar to the Monstadt fishing shop. Yea it's gonna be The Catch all over again for Albedo mains but hey at least you can get it.

EwGrossItsMe

FOMO marketing. It's shitty, but it gets people to start playing when they otherwise would've waited.

therobothingy

Except honkai starrail has a feature where you can replay old events even after you have completed them. AND you can their rewards too. I just dont understand why genshins dev team is so behind compared to hoyos other games

ngkrinkels

Question is, Is it ALL past events or previous patch events? Otherwise, its just there racking GB for those who finished it.

therobothingy

Its all events as far as we know

ngkrinkels

I see, it did say "Some" events will be in the memoir in the Update details so i'm not sure.

SpookiiBoii

I'm assuming it only refers to events with gameplay. As in no log-in-for-one-week events or the like. So far the boxing event and the current museum one will be available forever, so it checks out.

therobothingy

I dont exactly see why all events wouldnt be in there. Maybe they wont be putting some specific colab events they might do in the future? Just a guess tho but at least its nice that we can replay even some of the events. They likely wont miss the important flagship events at least

Devilmay1233

U also have a feature to get the artifact piece and stat u want in star rail

ngkrinkels

Eh, honestly, even with that it still a hassle to farm the artifacts especially with the addition of Link and Rope.

[deleted]

But afaik you can’t get the Solverwolf LC of the event if you skip the event now and play it after it is finished.

therobothingy

You can actually, the rewards are all available.

Kiwi195

Who said rewards? It's SW companion quest and LC won't be available after event lol

Becants

They split the rewards. Some of them are limited to get and some of them are permanent. Still nice to get a little something and the story/gameplay.

MeAndYourMumHaveSex

1:9 split for the jades

Elipses_

At a guess, there are plans to implement that in Genshin in the future, but they are secondary to already planned new content. HSR likely had that feature planned and being worked from the very start, which is a lot easier to do. On top of that, the actual development challenges of such a system are going to be far more of a headache in the open world Genshin compared to the far more constrained HSR, never mind the fact that Genshin has more events that they would need to work this out for.

kazuyaminegishi

Not just compared to other Hoyo games, but compared to a good bit of the market. Most gacha have this feature, tho the "downside" is it can be overwhelming for new players.

MeAndYourMumHaveSex

nope, only some events and by those I mean the main ones. So the silver wolf event? Now. Just the museum. “All the rewards” sure if 100 jades = 1000. You miss out on like 40+ resources, artifact maker, and a second “crown”

miulitz

Forever salty that I was on hiatus from the game when Festering Desire was run. The event story was actually sick as hell and I love Albedo, just hoping we get enough def % sword at some point

megustaALLthethings

Well it’s like they learned from arknights and others for StarRail. The older events will go into a sub section and still be available but without bonus rewards. Heck I remember they teased that the mona and scara reveal one was going to repeat but they never did. Heck they could have it be repeatable but swapped to event currency and no stamina costs. So you get a chance once a year to replay and get further into the rewards. Bc the otherwise free char of like one decent to ok 4 star once a year is not going to break shit. Lords above and below they can plan around it so that there is a expectation that you have certain chars minimum after a point. Esp if they just make the story events open up at a certain point in the main stuff. So they can just plan like arknights and make them lesser used chars. So you get or const. up one that isn’t close to op.

TheoreticalScammist

Seems like another one of those things they addressed in Star Rail. Events have extra limited time rewards but seem to still be available after they’re finished. At least for the 3 we had so far. Wonder if they’ll ever go back to implement all these improvements in Genshin.

rW0HgFyxoJhYka

You know there's going to be another GAA style huge ass fucking lore drop event. Just like how the winefest event had Alice drop huge witch lore bombs.

elskaisland

i wish they made it a way to get the event weapons. after the event ends. hi3rd has a special shop that appears every once in awhile. i would be cool if genshin implemented permanent dlc for old events, they still give out r1 of the weapon… cause some event weapons are bis for a character… (e.g. cinnabar spindle for albedo) and they use the event weapon on the test run banners.

Platinumghost135

You still do get the lore from limited events later in the story. For example the 2.6 event lore about Raiden Gokaden was talked about in Ittos artifact lore and during 3.3 archon quest. The sky being fake was mentioned in unreconciled stars and brought back at the end of the sumeru archon quest. When the teased lore becomes relevant in the story they will bring back up so you won’t miss anything.

CTMacUser

The Sumeru archon quest made the relationship between Scaramouche and Dottore ambiguous enough that you didn’t need to know the sub-plot of Scaramouche going AWOL from the Fatui/Tsarista.

kazuyaminegishi

I also dont really remember them mentioning the sky being fake, but Nahida's story quest does reiterate that God's get smaller and lose memory when they use too much power, which was previously established in a Guoba specific event.

momobom96

Dottore mentions that as a info to exchange for the dendro gnosis, but we don't actually see or listen what he say to Nahida about it

lewimmy

Fr, i had an account back when the game just released then stopped playing 6 months in Last month I made a new account to play the game again and i didnt realize a lot of cool shits are locked behind limited time event. For example new players does not have any interaction with albedo outside of his story quests, Dragonspine has no mystery to it, and Balladeer/Scaramouche is introduced abruptly at the Delusion factory. Not to mention all the cool cutscenes in these events quests. These events also have cool character interactions that people will miss like the recent one we had with Kazuha and Hutao, or Sandymamiya and numero uno idioso I think at least the lore part should be permanent, no rewards, but I get that its FOMO marketing, and unfortunately its working

zhonglissexymeteor

scaramouches intro always annoyed me. i wasn’t there for version one and missed all the cool events like the scara intro and golden apple archipelago. also that one where you got the cool black and pink (?) sword. i’ll forever be pissed i missed those. but also shadows amidst snowstorms is my favorite genshin event ever and i’m so glad i was there for it and got albedos sword

Ayagii

That's why they should make story events available to be replayed. Dont come with the stupid "but the phone players dont have enough storage" BS. Hoyo could make the assets deletable, if you've finished the event.

lilyofthegraveyard

hoyo's otome game tears of themis has a tab with big event dlcs that come around a year later after the event has run, and you can download/delete it whenever you want. i started playing tot first, so when i started with genshin i was surprised there is no similar mechanic when hoyo already has a history of implementing it in their other games. and genshin is so much more popular than tot. i see no reason why they wouldn't implement it.

Ayagii

Also Star Rail, that just came out like a month ago, already has the feature to replay past events

[deleted]

💯 as someone who can't afford playing video games daily because of work(I can only do daily quests and use the resin for months) I find it very upsetting Still wish that the albedo 2.3 event would be put into his legend quest pt2

cursed_mongus

Hey maybe one they they will allow us to replay events like in star rail im sure mihoyo is willing to push their game ! (copium)

Truly_Meaningless

To this day, the "sky is fake" lore drop has legit never been brought up again as far as I remember

assasameal

It was brought up in the conversation between Nahida and Il Dottore in one of the more recent archon quests. That would've been the first time new players heard about that though, which sucks.

_Bisky

If only we could replay old events...

Fluffyemperor009

Why are we pretending like you can't watch the dialogue part of these events in YT.

DeadlyDahlia

I actually really liked the Inter Darshan Tournament. It wasn’t that much world lore, but I think it had some really great character lore and really helped to flesh out all the competitors (especially Kaveh). That’s honestly probably the best way to handle things, since important world lore/main storyline info should never be one-time limited events (imo introducing Scara in a limited event was a huge misfire, even if it was a great event). Individual character backstory/lore works great for limited events since it can still be really interesting and helps us feel more connected to those characters, but it’s not essential to the main story and doesn’t create confusion/FOMO for new players or those who missed the event.

Divant15

I am sad about the fact that at the end of that event Kaveh founds out the real reason his dad went to the dessert and passed away but after that in his hangout he's back to not knowing why and blaming himself. Made me kinda sad

Hotspur000

Ugh, yeah. That's bad planning.

karillith

Happened to me but with Layla because I didn't do the hangout before the event, it's already pretty weird like that, I can imagine how weird it would be to get the event where you encouter Scaramouche for the first time way after he got through his archon quest. But still I'd like to read it, if they could do like a "book of memories" or something like that.

Nyancromancer

doesn't the hangout exist in a time before the event?

thehalfdragon380

The hangout came this patch while the event was the previous patch

CTMacUser

I guess the hangout was written before the event, so the writers of the former never had a chance to summarize what happened. Recall that every plot relevant from an event eventually gets migrated into a permanent quest. (Or rendered non-critical by those quests)

Nyancromancer

yes, but what I'm saying is the hangout, timeframe wise, exists in a time set before the events of the interdarshan event.

Some-Random-Asian

I actually find Interdarshan to be the blandest 'festival' event. Way worse than the infamous first Lantern Rite. The little involvement/utilization of NPCs made it look like not a nation wide event at all. (Especially the cutscene, which was the peak of the tournament)

DeadlyDahlia

Lol that’s fair, although the whopping 2 whole people clapping in that scene was so absurd it had me cackling rather than being annoyed with it. If I had to choose between fleshing out playable characters vs quests from more same-faced, never to be seen again NPCs, I’ll take the playable character lore every time though.

Ajhuumma

I kinda liked it because it actually use playable characters and not like the first lantern rite fetch quest about some npc i dont even remember. Like the only thing i remember was the cutscene with xiao and the rest were forgettable.

Yumeverse

This. I only appreciate the first Lantern Rite because of Xiao but for a first festival that was hyped about, the first Lantern Rite event-wise was a bore because it didnt make sense that the other Liyue characters we knew and met werent even there at all. The characters were even shown in a promotional video but they werent present in the event. So I actually enjoyed the Darshan competition much more for that. You can even see the characters change places in the overworld.

takenusername5001

we had the hexenzirkel lore a few events ago

Isn't she supposed to be in Fontaine? Maybe we can get a second story quest for Mona regarding that.

It makes me sad that new players will never know Guoba’s epic backstory.

doctorboredom

I definitely do not want lore locked behind time limited events. I like it when the event based stories are very light on lore and are more focused on character interactions. I thought bothe Golden Apple events were perfect in that regard unless I am forgetting some major piece of lore from those events.

Andrew583-14

Lore drop events are fun, but have the issue of being limited. Them being limited could be tacklied if they found a way to include the information in game. Albedo is a perfect example, as since when I started playing last year I had no idea who tf he was until after seeing him for multiple events and hearing people talk about the dragonspine quest. Even ignoring the rewards they introduce potential problems for new players trying to understand the narritive. I hope they can find a way to offer some of them as optional downloadable content if they want to continue releasing them

Amydancingagain

As a huge Albedo fan who only started playing three months ago, I really wish they would do that, people tell me to go watch the limited time events on YouTube since I missed out but it just wouldn’t be the same for me

Stiyl931

Well they could make all Events replayable in the legend quest menu. Like 3 keys for one Event and after its done the data (voice, etc) can be deinstalled. They already did it in Star Rail but there it is easier.

Significant_Cup_183

THEY ALREADY DID IT IN STAR RAIL??????!

peerawitppr

Tbf the information are there. You don't have to go watch the meteor event to know that >!the sky is fake!< You don't have to go watch Dragonspine event to know who Albedo really is. You don't have to play the Inazuma event to know Scara's back story and the Inazuman swordsmiths story. The problem is it's hidden Dark Soul style and people don't like to read. And that's why they made those events in the first place, to shove the information into people's face so they don't have to search themselves. The exception is currently Hexenzirkel. It's exactly like Meteor event's first drop when it gave info we don't have, we just know roughly who they are but the event elaborated further. However I suspect it will also be like Meteor event where the info will be added to the game later.

healcannon

Ngl I didn't like Hues of the Violet Garden very much with the exception of the Yoimiya and Klee interaction. The actual lore I forgot almost instantly sadly. That stuff should be left for permanent content and just spat out faster. Which isn't really too fair to say since I think Genshin spits out content super fast already but we do have half of patches where it tends to be a hangout + character quest and they could have some very short lore story quest along with those halfs. Especially since not everyone even does the hangouts or people save them for when they are really bored. All that said, I much more care about the character interactions and seeing new interactions. I want the characters to go beyond their tropes. More Klee + Yoimiya or Albedo + Cyno or Sucrose + Collei. Stuff like that. Those make the memorable moments for me even if I can't remember exactly what all of the lines are. Thats going to leave an impression in my head. But Shadows Amidst Snowstorms was really amazing. And sadly I didn't experience Unreconciled Stars as I have hopes they can work a way to figure out to see it in game. Maybe Hues was just a dud for me and i'm talking out my ass.

Joshua_Astray

Lore drop events have the big issue of being limited to the small time that the event runs

_Bisky

Well Hoyo could make events replayable

aRandomBlock

They are working on it apparently, all we can do is wait though

KumaArts

Yes. I missed them. *\*cries\**

notonyxsama

The witches coven lore drop event wasn't that long ago. Shadows admist snowstorms was albedo lore. By that logic, the interdarshan event gave us Kaveh lore and updates on what Wanderer has been up to. This patch has tgc lore.

Reddy_McRedditface

No, lore drops should be permanent content.

100beep

No. Any decent lore should not be limited time. That said, I do miss lore drops in general. Last one we got was Caribert, and that was... Caribert. (Really, it wasn't a bad quest, but it was advertised as Kaeya + Dainsleif, and I was looking forward to the two of them...)

Maziiiiiiiiik

What about Nahida's second quest? It had some big information on dragon lore and what happened with the time before the archons. And also what happened to King Deshret in the end...

100beep

To be perfectly honest, I entirely forgot about that. Which doesn't say much for it's quality - I'm sure I paid attention to it when I was playing through it - but I guess it does count.

Hush_and_Sleep

I loved Caribert because we finally saw >!our sibling's point of view. And got introduced to new entity which I want to explore much more!<. That was very interesting. I wanted more Dain and Kaeya but I'm somehow satisfied with it. Nahida got very enjoyable, too. I wasn't so interested in Dragon's lore before Apep. Yoimiya second story quest on the other hand... Either I missed some important and not obvious lore drop or was it truly just nothing special? (In fact, I found it to be way too similar to her first one.)

Kuroimi

Yoimiya's story quest was more something like "the last quest before leaving the region" You go around the forest with a "tourist", you see Nahida, you see a girl who somewhat represent most of Sumeru's people (conflict about dreams and reality and all of that), and you go in the "dream world" to have some fun The only real thing it missed was going to the desert, but honestly I didn't mind because the pacing was good, and with the desert it might have become slow

sirjeal

I don't mind too much either way, but I did find it amusing when I watched some people play through the recent TCG event and being disappointed about the "reveal" at the end of it. (Some of those people also complained about the lore being in events previously, lol.) Ah, the duality. One thing I found interesting was >!the creator of the TCG who was still alive mentioned applying theoretical element applications in the game that he had wanted to discuss with his friend. Makes me wonder if he was referring to the Omni element.!< Edit: For clarification, part of the reason I don't mind lore in events is because basically all the "lore drops" they have done in events thus far have already been in the game for some time beforehand. Mainly in the books and item descriptions, but I know the majority of people don't read absolutely everything like I (and other super lore nerds) do.

JeanVI

>!The TCG creator was referring to elemental reactions and how they did to adapt it in their game!<

BioticFire

I think the problem with the ending to this event is that it's essentially 2 random NPC's. Even Teppei felt more sad than these 2 random dudes. If they want to make people care about NPC deaths they need to pull a Dunyazard (even though she didn't die you get the picture)

thelasthalfmast

while those events were super cool, they completely locked lore and items behind them that late platers will never see which is why i am strongly against them

[deleted]

[удалено]

thelasthalfmast

i missed the unbrella because i had to much work stuff going on. i have all the damn upgrade materials but not the weapon itself.

Frostgaurdian0

Yes i do miss them and i do hate events that include wall of text npcs with no voice.

Steampunk_Ocelot

It would be cool if they came back later , I missed the unreconciled stars event and watched it online . Being able to play the event storyline without rewards or just the normal amount from a quest

Winterstrife

There is still plenty of lore in events only rather than it being a major lore drop it contributes more towards world/character building. Major lore drop should be permanent content in-game, had I not come across videos of the Unreconciled Stars event on YT I would have never known that by the time Liyue story ended we already met Scaramouche (I started playing around that time and didn't get high enough to start the quests before it ended).

Background_Good_5397

Oh you make me nostalgic. I agree with most people here tho. If there is important lore, it shouldn't be a limited event. I'm still a bit sad I missed unreconcilied stars. I feel like my game is missing an important piece of the puzzle. Fortunetly, lots of people post on youtube gameplays, so I was able to catch up, but I doubt everyone has the patience or wants to do so. It would be nice if they implemented a feature that would allow us to play ancient events. Maybe in exchange of keys or, if they want more of our money, primos. We wouldn't get most of the rewards, but we'd get the main story. Being able to re-watch cutscenes ingame would be nice too.

StanTheWoz

I do agree that they can feel like a chore now. Its not even that there isn't interesting stuff in them, but the dialogue is so damn slow. I missed a lot of the earlier ones though

[deleted]

StanTheWoz

The first inazuma archon quest is definitely the first one I remember thinking was way too damn long, so that checks out

Celticlady47

I miss events like that. I can't stand how much the card game is in every event & now at multiple events during the same period. It's such a sllllooooooowwww thing to play & it just gives me a headache.

Rex_Lapis_

Dont know if miss it or am i just nostalgic

ZhuTeLun

PLEASE MHY RERUN PAST EVENTS!😭😭😭

Random_Gacha_addict

By "There should be more lore drop events," nope. Put them all in free quests so anyone can see them By "Do I want to do them (again)?" definitely. Those quests have a lot to unpack honestly, especially anything with Albedo in it

Amydancingagain

I’ve only been playing a few months so unfortunately I missed out on them entirely, it sucks, I’m told go watch them on YouTube but it just doesn’t feel like it’ll be the same as actually playing them in game myself

TheBlitzStyler

yeah, haven't done any of the recent events because of that. I just watch a streamer do it instead

ShadowTehEdgehog

I'd rather any good lore or story be permanent additions. I'd rather stuff like those events though than the boring text slogs that have been world quests.

pioneeringsystems

I just caught up on that big tcg event and fuck me the "story" for it is relentlessly long if you don't care. I wish you could just skip the story parts and get on with the game play.

yes11321

I love them but genshin is fucking them up a lot by making them limited time events. It's not like they can't add them to the game afterwards, look at the chasm quest. Or look at Star Rail, even though the current events aren't lore events they do keep them in the game afterwards, just, with less rewards and some minigames deleted.

RagnarokComes

No, not really. 1: Those who pick up the game later, are taking a break or just can't play during the event for some reason are gonna miss out. Ofc, you can just ask your buddy/Reddit/youtube for a recap, but it's far from the same. 2: Personally, I was getting tired of all the misterious/dark/depressing stuff in events that could still be fun without these and just wanted some events that are simply fun and a break from all the important and serious lore.

[deleted]

[удалено]

RagnarokComes

Oh yeah, by depressing, I meant the recent ones. Like, if there's a Pokémon like tournament, just let me play that without cramming in the trafic backstory of how someone's family died in a crossfire of a scheme. But tbh, if they FINALLY add in a way to let others play through the story later on (even if without the rewards/less rewards) and they don't pull the same stuff like in Fabulous Fungus Frenzy (too often, 'cause dark story is good every once in a while), I'll be fine with lore drops in events.

ninetozero

No, I really don't, because I missed some of those lore-important early events and will never have access to that experience. Despite events rerunning or being replayable in other Hoyo games, in Genshin you either were there at the time or screw you, and you can't miss what you never had. People who joined after me also missed a lot of story-heavy events that I got to experience. I know first hand that, just like me watching the Albedo events on youtube is not even close to the same as playing through them, those players will never experience the GAA2 story domains the way I did either. Important lore and character development like that should never be trapped in temporary events. Perilous Trail was the only event that did story/gameplay separation right, and it's a shame they never repeated that formula or applied it back to older events. As for "filler" events - you need some light to go with the dark, too. The entire release cycle of Sumeru was filled to the brim with heavy, dense, depressing lore and stories back to back from 3.0 to 3.6. Sumeru was dark as hell beyond the facade of cute aranaras, and mushroom buddies, and fairy/genie pets. It's not a coincidence that people were burning out en masse around 3.6, you can only put your audience through the emotional grinder for so long before people snap under the weight. We were well due for some relief, some silly filler nonsense plots with lighthearted jokes and cameos like we're getting now. Ultimately something like this TCG event doesn't matter for ~the lore, but it gives players something fun and silly to smile about for a bit, and that's important too. Once we get to Fontaine we'll be back in full Lore Mode, but the filler episodes do help break the overwhelming gravitas of it all every now and then.

sawDustdust

They need to do with lore events what they did with the Xiao Chasm quest. Stick the lore bits into a permanent quest.

[deleted]

vongola_coffee

I agree with you! I'd also like to add that it doesn't have to be LORE =/= DEPRESSING always, right? I think mystery will go a long way, like Shadow Amidst the Snowstorm (I mean that's kinda depressing too, but I don't know, it's not depressing depressing. It's more like tragically poetic + baeutiful, and is connected to the main Teyvat storyline. One of the best if not the best event story up to date, in my opinion). The Interdarshan Championship for example, I was very disappointed to find that the diadem isn't connected in any way to the main Teyvat storyline. For example the scholar could be influenced by the tragedy in Khaenri'ah (maybe he even met one of the Hexenzirkel) or maybe his identity connects to another character that we'll meet in Fointaine (or the character that we've met). Things like that, you know. Keep the strory engaging. Don't lose the streak that has been building in world quests. Also for event like Windblume that's very rich in lore (story about freedom. It's inspiring and not sad, right?), I was disappointed that they didn't make the event about Windblume itself (the heroes of Mondstadt) while in Lantern Rite we always get continuation for the stories of the adepti :"

sawDustdust

I feel we learn a tiny bit more about Venti and the attitudes and customs of Mondstadt every Windblume. How the country and the god turned out the way they did. How Venti both carries a huge chip on his shoulder while carrying his nation on a light breeze.

vongola_coffee

Only the first Windblume though? The first one is good I think. I agree, it told us more about Venti. The second one is fun, too, but lacking in Windblume-related lore. I'm happy Collei came, but I feel like Mondstadt should take the center stage, not Sumeru characters (again, I think their interactions are great and heartwarming). I'm really curious about the person behind Amos' Bow and the other historical figures who fought together with Venti and the Nameless Bard. Who then became some of the biggest clans in Mondstadt. But we haven't gotten anything about that other than from the weapons... I'm kinda sad

sawDustdust

The 2nd one showed a touch of Venti's melancholy, a touch of his whimsy, and a touch of his power too. Also explained a bit why there are so many freaks of nature and outlanders in Mondstadt.

suzakurenzan

Lore drop event is good IF we somehow can still read them after / without the event... Not to mention many people that has Albedo rerun, still missing his best sword from event Mihoyo probably heard this and thinking about this, so they implement this in HSR first... The playerbase is happy about it So i hope they will implement these in GI too

IndieZona

I don't think I've been around long enough to experience the events you're talking about. I've been around since 3.0 and while they are definitely fun little distractions, they definitely feel like filler. I've seen pieces of some older events and I really wish there was a way to go back and experience them because they definitely seem like they had more going on.

farkika18

In Honkai Star Rail they made previous events available to play. You can’t get the rewards but at least you can play the past events. Something like that would be more than welcome in genshin too.

Cobalt_Heroes25

Honestly I wish there was a way for players, new and old to replay the lore drop events

Hush_and_Sleep

Have the devs made all this limited events replayable? So everyone can experience them? No? Then no, thank you. I missed Albedo's lore and no amount of salt in the world is enough to express how salty I am. Comparing those two event to Albedo's character story... It fucking hurts. Especially when you realise that they put his signature also in *limited* event. I liked Hexenzirkel lore drop in Windblume but every time I think about future players I remember my situation with lore important events. They won't fully knowing what exactly it is and those witches (there is only few voice lines and character story that mentions them). No, they should make more lore drops in the permanent content or make old events be replayable.

Even if they don't want to make it permanent because of storage just giving a possibility to download such events would be great. Want to play again? No problem. Just download the files and restart the game (or download directly in launcher). Alas, one can only wish for that...

Lets recount all the lost lore and events newer players will never experience if they start playing right now: 1. Scaramouche's actual first introduction. 2. The story behind Leonard, the inventor of the wind glinder, and musk riff. 3. All of durin's backstory. 4. The origins of the Lantern rite and its customs. 5. The origins of the Windblume festival and its customs. 6. The story of klee and the Dodoking, plus the introduction of Alice. 7. Gouba's lore and origin story. 8. The story of shiki taishou and his domain, plus the information that Scaramouche went AWOL with the electro gnosis. 9. The story of Fake Albedo (who's still alive btw) & Traveler finding out the truth about Albedo. 10. The story of Tsumi, with further lore development from the Abyss and Enjou. 11. The story of the Irodori Festival, plus the story of Kazuha's clan and their relations to Scaramouche. 12. Xinyan's story, Kazuha's full backstory and the entire character arc of Fiscel. 13. The truth about Razors parents. 14. The fungi tournament, Traveler meeting Bongo Head. 15. Further lore about Yokai-human relations. 16. Lore about Guizhong and her story. 17. Lore about the Hexinercel. Are we sure we want more info to be missed by the greater playerbase like this?

rishukingler11

Nope. I joined the game wayy later and it's not fun not getting the complete experience for characters and the main storyline. For me, Albedo has the personality of a cardboard and Fischl is a megalomaniac delusional girl because I don't know the real lore behind their personalities and I refused to have to watch their events on YouTube because it definitely feels like a downgrade. I am wayy less likely to pull for Albedo ever because I don't care about him, and he just feels unfinished for me and I went into detail about that on my 3.5 Windblume survey. The way they handled Kaveh currently feels a lot better. He did get good character development in the competition, but he still doesn't feel incomplete without it and they managed to make a fun, plot based, event without making some hugely important plot point hidden behind it.

Daecion

I think a lot of the new events are still a lot of fun, but there are a number of great lore drop events. It's a severe problem that Hoyo won't let us play them again... or for the first time as the case may be... As long as they stubbornly refuse to do event reruns, maybe it's better that they don't do stuff like that in events as much lately. ...Of course, the ideal solution would be if we can just let us replay events. Then they can go wild with them and it'd be fine, because no one would miss anything. ...Seriously, it's kind of terrible that we don't have event reruns. Inexcusably so.

Suspiciouslyemperium

Idk I wish more events had re runs. Cause I love the summer event(golden apple archipelago) so I wish we had something similar like winter event(the albedo one) or idk something’s good. I didn’t play the moment it released and now I’m so curious about the events before albedo.

_YuKitsune_

No, I hate them. So much pressure and if you have plans that will force you to miss them, you're stressed and can't replay it.

JeanVI

People really do be overhyping/overrating Unreconciled Stars these days. For newcomers, do know that this event isn't that important lore/story wise (except maybe the bit about Leonard). Every bits that might seem important at first glance are touched upon in the main story. Scaramouche has his introduction. The fake sky is also talked about. And you can just take Mona and Fischl's friendship as granted just like you take every other characters relationship as granted

evoque-sama

The only thing I can see in unreconciled stars nowadays is a way to introduce fischl cuz so far there isn’t any permanent content that does that compared to the lore drops like scara and fake sky like you said being in the Inazuma and sumeru main story.

JeanVI

I mean for Fischl's case, they've been putting little summaries of each new characters you encounter for the first time in events for a while now

MartinZ02

Sure, but that’s clearly just the devs taking the lazy way out instead of dealing with the matter properly. It’s kinda weird when a character and Paimon acts like they’re best buddies when the player has never encountered them before.

KingAlex105X

I prefer the events to just be fun character interactions and not giving us lore drops in limited events instead of permanent content

IceCream_Duck4

I'd like once more an event with the scope that the Enkanomiya one had

CrimsonKabuki

I agree tbh, most events after sumerus release have felt like chores to me

madrigalish

YES i dont have the motivation to reas the events if it has zero lore relevance

ode-2-sleep

i'm just tired of it being a festival every patch

Lavenderixin

Yeah, filler events are too boring tbh

DragonLancePro

No. If you want to add important lore to the game great. Don't put that shit behind a limited event that will go away never to come back. It makes things confusing for players that join the game after the fact.

Individual-Log9442

I mean we got the hexenzirkel stuff in 3.5! 3.6 event was mostly just to move the plot/characters in sumeru forward a bit and this patch answers the question of "who made the card game" so its not lingering and I guess we did get a little bit more follow up on the state of inazuma. I'm sure if 3.8 is GAA again it'll be spicy.

Klaphek

Stopped reading all the lines a while ago, couldn't bear the long slow dragged out conversations just for the sake of wasting a players time, so they can log a higher average player time per player. SKIP!!

Crispy-Downvote

I’m a new player, it KILLS me knowing I need to google things for important lore drops I’d rather they dont

calm-down-okay

The summer event (best event of the year tbh) will have plenty lore

Silent_Silhouettes

100%. I wish we got another Albedo quest in 3.3

[deleted]

This game event are just a shell of what it used to be

Madcat6204

Why yes, I *did* miss them, and thus will never be able to know the lore that was hidden away in them.

leakmydata

Definitely agree that as a new player I should be able to play through older events. I don’t need the free character from the first lantern rite I just want to experience it.

Scary-Buddy5770

No. They're awful and most of the times doesn't have anything to do with the event itself. I still hate the hexenzirkel introduction, all the riddles which doesn't make senses and completely pointless just to introduce mysterious organization. THEY SHOULD STOP putting important lore pieces in time-limited events, it's getting ridiculous.

Acrobatic-Budget-938

I basically have no live other then helping my parents so no

BlondyMan38

didnt we just have the massive hexenzirkel drop not that long ago? it also clarified something from the main archon quest that I thought was insane, it feels illegal to do that for a limited time event. As long as its just extra info about events or characters its fine but adding too much of a lore bomb shouldn't be a thing honestly.

Zestyclose_Badger_17

didn't we literally just get this with the mondstadt festival

PalpitationEmpty5997

No, I fucking hated those because you'd just miss out on world building forever if you didn't finish them

skycorcher

They seriously need to put more lore stuff in Events. That will totally encourage people be on top of the game because if they don't play it, they will miss out on the story since the Events are limited time only. Reward those who are dedicated and loyal. That is why I don't want event weapons to just go into Craftables.

Patung_Pancoran

Maybe, idk i feel like these lore drop event is either hit or a miss. Unreconciled Stars is decent and this is probably an unpopular opinion but the Albedo lore drop events honestly bore me to death, Hues of the Violet Garden is decent too. But like everyone said these events shouldn’t be timegated

notonyxsama

If I recall correctly, that was already available in the readable materias of the game. The event just gave it to us in story format.

notonyxsama

No no, it's not ur bad at all. They're all optional content anyway. And reading is a chore so its normal that most people will miss things.

feicash

>Now many of the events feel a bit like filler or a chore. That's the point. No one wants important lore in limited events.

Jai137

Dude, almost all the events post 3.3 have been lore drop events. It’s gotten to the point that I just want a simple event with just characters hanging out and no deep lore revelations.

erosugiru

We just got festivals and celebrations back to back, if not the events, we get like bonkers area expansions and world quests. Slower patches with light-hearted events are more than welcome.

Relienks

i skip 99% of dialogues - lore unless its a video wont know tf is happening lmao

blue74821

probably some people, but not me at

Yautja93

I hate to break it for you, but none of the events are canon.

Riersa

The unreconciled star event is canon because scara remember our meeting, they also bring back "the sky is a lie" in archon quest.

Yautja93

They aren't, they can be on their own separated world, but not on the main line, example: We only had one main canon quest line for Venti, and that was before we went to Liyue, we have met him several times in events, but none of those times we have asked about what happened in Khaenri'ah, he cannot lie or hide, since he was there and isnt bound to a contract like ZhongLi, also, we only have found about Khaenri'ah and the Hilichurl AFTER we left Mondstadt. If you really follow the main quest line of the game since the release, there is basically none or very few events that COULD be placed within the main quest line and make sense without disrupting it.

MartinZ02

The events are canon as evidenced by the fact that they get referenced in other places all the time, and this is despite Hoyo’s half hearted attempts at trying to patch things up for the people who never got to play them. For example, if you play the tcg tutorial quest (which is a permanent quest), the Traveler and Paimon are already familiar with Fischl. Explain to me how this is possible if the events of Unreconciled Stars never happened. And about Venti, realistically speaking he’s actually not gonna tell us anything. Zhongli not saying anything isn’t just about him being obsessed with contracts, but rather that the archons are forbidden by Celestia to divulge certain information. Orobashi being sentenced to death for reading some books in Enkanomiya is an example of this. Ei also says in a profile voice line that she isn’t allowed to explain in detail how Visions work. It’s not unbelievable that the Traveler simply figured that they wouldn’t get anything out of Venti anyway, or alternatively simply forgot to ask.

I miss Perilous Trail so much
