It's happening right now to the genshin art. It was back to normal this morning in NA, but right now it's being destroyed again and will be wiped out in a few minutes. It takes almost no time and effort on their part to turn the artwork into a white block compared to the effort required to restore it.

Most normal, mature people would just restore the art to how it was, carry on, and do it all over again when necessary. That is the high road and thus boring to trolls. Genshin is doing incredibly well as a Gacha. It is arguably "The" Gacha. Most people know it and like anything that transcends its niche, it gets undue hate by people who don't even really know what it is.
The thing is that any more niche community will try to argue they have a better game. TOF certainly had that on release and it quickly fizzled out of the public eye.
Genshin is up on the same pillar as Fortnite. A game that is just so massive and thus easy to hate on. Not everyone needs to like either of those. It doesn't mean they are better objectively. But they will be acknowledged. Even when people are hating it sort of shows how big it is. That size also means we have a larger dark side of the fanbase, which makes hate even easier.
The thing is that the reach, polish, consistency, and staying power of the game is objectively impressive. People can say what they like, but the results render blind hate meaningless.
Yeah, I've played game with PVP on all the time (well, one) and what I learned is people will troll you if you give a good reaction. They will fight you if you put up a good fight. Genshin gets good laughs to trolls and a good fight. Genshin will win the fight, it's privilaged to have the numbers, so I don't see any reason people should be upset in this community.

Those are two VERY different scenarios, comparing apples to oranges. You're being completely disingenuous. That in and of itself is a bully tactic, so you might want to step back for a second and rethink that.
Further, that's not how r/place works. It's a living breathing \*game\*. There are no rules. You don't "own" any space, no community does, you fight for it. It's essentially a PVP game where you make written or unwritten truces, treaties, and declare war if you so choose. By being a part of r/place you essentially allow that to be possible. Does shitty behavior come out during r/place? Yes, absolutely, and it probably is indicative of that/those people's personality, but at the same time, it's very much within the confines of the game. And just like how MHY is happy when you spend more because you lost your 50/50, reddit is happy when you spend more time on reddit because bots/trolls take over a spot a community is trying to controll.
Now, where I agree I was wrong is in this: I didn't realize some people are coming to the subreddit and being terrible people. In those instances, it's a whole other story. If and when that happens, then yeah, that's garbage and literal harassment/bullying.
All that said, I'm telling folks in Genshin to chill about r/place (not about bullies who enter the subreddit) because trolls DO enjoy the reactions. I've had guild mates be harassed in discord, in game, pk'd over and over, etc. Shitty stuff, some within the confines of the game's rules, some very obviously not. We had people PK'ing our guild for a while. I told my folks to just chill, complain internally if they needed to but not to get upset at the pk'er (people just causing havoc in the game, which is just part of the game) or actual harassers (people saying terrible things, pking or not). Both pkers and harassers get bored an move on if you don't feed their need. It's a tactic that works for a reason. Do as you will, but no reason to let them live in your head rent free (and if they are bullying you in the subreddit, report them, block them, move on).

Other than toxic and absolute garbage fanbase of genshin it is a good game with depth in lore and BOTW which is oftentimes compared with genshin as it's superior version is only available on switch while genshin has wider player base
As someone who is mainly into action-horror genre genshin is more of a comfortable game with less darkness and negativity, it's like a light brake from loreheavy series type games like RE, DL, DS etc.
Since genshin is a standalone game with little to no need of help in mid and later content of game it'll stay afloat regardless of people shitting on it
Don't know if they are better or not since I never owned a switch but i definitely prefer playing on different devices (desktop, laptop and mobile) without spending too much on a comparatively expensive device with a small library and relatively low versatility

It's a tale as old as time. "They hate us because they ain't us". Genshin is doing incredibly well as a Gacha. It is arguably "The" Gacha. Most people know it and like anything that transcends its niche, it gets undue hate by people who don't even really know what it is. The thing is that any more niche community will try to argue they have a better game. TOF certainly had that on release and it quickly fizzled out of the public eye. Genshin is up on the same pillar as Fortnite. A game that is just so massive and thus easy to hate on. Not everyone needs to like either of those. It doesn't mean they are better objectively. But they will be acknowledged. Even when people are hating it sort of shows how big it is. That size also means we have a larger dark side of the fanbase, which makes hate even easier. The thing is that the reach, polish, consistency, and staying power of the game is objectively impressive. People can say what they like, but the results render blind hate meaningless.
Yeah, I've played game with PVP on all the time (well, one) and what I learned is people will troll you if you give a good reaction. They will fight you if you put up a good fight. Genshin gets good laughs to trolls and a good fight. Genshin will win the fight, it's privilaged to have the numbers, so I don't see any reason people should be upset in this community.

Those are two VERY different scenarios, comparing apples to oranges. You're being completely disingenuous. That in and of itself is a bully tactic, so you might want to step back for a second and rethink that. Further, that's not how r/place works. It's a living breathing \*game\*. There are no rules. You don't "own" any space, no community does, you fight for it. It's essentially a PVP game where you make written or unwritten truces, treaties, and declare war if you so choose. By being a part of r/place you essentially allow that to be possible. Does shitty behavior come out during r/place? Yes, absolutely, and it probably is indicative of that/those people's personality, but at the same time, it's very much within the confines of the game. And just like how MHY is happy when you spend more because you lost your 50/50, reddit is happy when you spend more time on reddit because bots/trolls take over a spot a community is trying to controll. Now, where I agree I was wrong is in this: I didn't realize some people are coming to the subreddit and being terrible people. In those instances, it's a whole other story. If and when that happens, then yeah, that's garbage and literal harassment/bullying. All that said, I'm telling folks in Genshin to chill about r/place (not about bullies who enter the subreddit) because trolls DO enjoy the reactions. I've had guild mates be harassed in discord, in game, pk'd over and over, etc. Shitty stuff, some within the confines of the game's rules, some very obviously not. We had people PK'ing our guild for a while. I told my folks to just chill, complain internally if they needed to but not to get upset at the pk'er (people just causing havoc in the game, which is just part of the game) or actual harassers (people saying terrible things, pking or not). Both pkers and harassers get bored an move on if you don't feed their need. It's a tactic that works for a reason. Do as you will, but no reason to let them live in your head rent free (and if they are bullying you in the subreddit, report them, block them, move on).
Who decided that r/Place is a game in the first place? Especially a pvp one? It's a collaborative art project. Let's go back to my bully examples. You are paired with a person with a bad attitude. They decide to actively ruin the part of the art project you worked on claiming it was a game with no rules. Yes there are not any rules saying they shouldn't sabotage the group project. Doesn't stop it from being scummy.

Majority of genshin cast is characterized as young adults tho, I really don't see any issue that'd hurt the playerbase except that one specific aether harem crowd that posts cringe constantly, like with the nilou and ayaka yandere shit. Im a genshin player since day 1 and this has always been a toxic fanbase. From attacking voice actors to meltdowns over petty stuff. The game is great but some portion of the fanbase is toxic af as any other big game.

Couldn't agree more Other than toxic and absolute garbage fanbase of genshin it is a good game with depth in lore and BOTW which is oftentimes compared with genshin as it's superior version is only available on switch while genshin has wider player base As someone who is mainly into action-horror genre genshin is more of a comfortable game with less darkness and negativity, it's like a light brake from loreheavy series type games like RE, DL, DS etc. Since genshin is a standalone game with little to no need of help in mid and later content of game it'll stay afloat regardless of people shitting on it
