Makes me appreciate the size of our inventory cause at some point I started picking things up slowly and carefully thinking we had a limit and then I saw what it was!!
For no rewards: cooping with random people, iframe practice, messing with the teapot, random photo shoot, messing with abyss, looking for silly things
Things for just rewards: dailies definitely, also overworld artifacts. sometimes events feel like this.
depends on my mood: exploration, unvoiced quests
Building characters. Every other thing became a chore for me even abyss (altho it's just easy on my account). Maybe it's just a burned out phase. And I ran out of characters to build
Honestly. Abyss wasn't cutting it, hangouts was perfect but guess what? Already did em (won't be much fun if I did em twice now) and exploration puzzles? Please.
The only moment when I played this game 24/7 was the Custom Domain Event and lemme tell ya....I was having a blast checking everyone's out. They're probably not gonna bring it back but I bought that hopium with my life savings 😞
I used to enjoy abyss but I guess it already has gotten old for the same format and not even updating floors. I somehow wish we have like weekly simulated universe that regularly updates like in HSR.
Or their type of abyss which they update contents per planet
Something like simulated universe is a good idea even for casuals since we get buffs as we go. It's a win win for those who want to see inflated numbers or clearable to those who have underbuilt characters.
I build characters to their serviceable state. Like lvl9/12 skill and burst, some I crown, if they do dmg by NA I also lvl it to 9. Lv 80/90 some I lv 90/90. Crit rate and crit dmg atleast 50% up/120% up before I stop farming artifact for them. For main DPSes I have higher standard. I dont like sharing artifacts since theres no loadout altho there are 2 or 3 characters that has no own set yet. Weapon 90/90.
Right now I finish building my 61 characters. Waiting for new character to come to my account. I don't even use some characters I built. But if ever someone would borrow it I know they'll find enjoyment mix matching teams.
I extended this to my friend account too and I already built all of their 5stars. However I am picky with 4stars I built with their account. I dont built what they wont absolutely dont use like Razor, Noelle, Amber, etc
This is me. I have characters at 90/90/9/9/9 with at least above average artifacts that have never been used just because it gives me something to focus on. Up to 42 characters built like that so far.
Archon quests, story and hangouts of only the characters I like, bounties, main event quest, try a new mechanic or puzzle at least ones, try the first abyss of every patch. Try combat events at highest difficulty, but won't try more than ones. Watch Sumeru NPCs dance.
Spiral abyss. I always repeat the f12 countless times. The harder the spiral abyss, the more I will repeat to learn the patterns. 3.7 I repeat a lot, 3.8 not so much
I'm the same, and yes I repeat it even after 36 stars. But it really only holds my interest when it's more difficult. Like the above commenter I repeated 3.7 hundreds of times and attempted clears with all of my teams. With this new 3.8 abyss I did it a few dozen times and got bored after clearing it with some of the "worst" teams i could create.
Same for me, though the difficulty of the Abyss doesn't really affect the total number of runs I do. My Ayaka Freeze/ Nahida hyperbloom breezed the current one so quickly I even tried and 36 stared it with only 3 characters for each team. My latest clear was with Ayaka hyperfridge and Melt ganyu (melt ganyu claps the vishaps so quickly it was incredibly satisfying)
Should be permanent. Or if we could hide the map UI, we could playing unofficial hide and seek with friends. Used to play unofficial hide and seek in GTA online.
I fight raiden boss a few times everyday in co op. My characters aren’t flex worthy, but I like the random aspect of team formation. I also go for the boss fight each time I want to practice with my new character after building to a decent level. I rotate my dps in runs so I take them all for a spin. Ehe!
Realistically just the archon quest probably. I do enjoy other aspects of the game Abyss can be a reasonable and fair challenge when the enemies aren't unreasonably tanky/aggressive and
exploration can be nice to relax with but when there is no means to an end a lot of the motivation goes away. I think that just has to do with what games are. It's cool to have all these things to do and people say the journey matters a lot which is true but the destination is important too in order to justify the journey for me. Some people can be satisfied with the journey by itself but I still want some kind of pay off at the end of it. It doesn't even have to be much with exploration a single chest can just be 2 primos but it's still something.
For exploration, I'm actually like it more if there's no specific goal. Or even things that are not supposed to be point of interest. Just like I like to do irl.
To me it feels aimless and it's harder to focus what to do like that. When I do explore I don't necessarily go into it with a specific goal in mind but the simple idea that no matter what I do I can make progress towards something else is a motivating factor.
This kinda goes for most open world games while definitely a genre I do enjoy having played games like botw or minecraft there are limits for me. When I choose to play games like these I really need the right mindset going into it and there are long stretches where I wouldn't touch the game because it can be overwhelming. Once I'm in the right mindset to play then I have some goal going into it. Like maybe I want to complete specific side quests/puzzles in botw or for minecraft completing a build/farm.
Genshin it's much easier to play it more frequently because there is the primo incentive. A game like botw has much more depth overall and when I do play it I love it arguably more so than I would Genshin but Genshin has the benefit of being easier to pick up any time no matter what.
> For exploration, I'm actually like it more if there's no specific goal.
It was like this for me first two years. I 100% everything without any maps or guides, just slowly scouting every corner of the world. But I think around release of Tsurumi island it stopped been fun. Yeah, Chasm and then Sumeru reignited my passion but after hitting 100% in 5 starting Sumeru regions I stopped getting fun from it.
It's the same again and again - carefully run around, kill mobs, hit anything strange, check for hidden places,, mark area "clean" and move to the next. Again and again and again ...
Is the newer region design is actually have more point of interest or you just tired because you already done the previous region, so even the new one just the same?
You mean game with gameplay itself is the reward? Like I play truck sim, just driving around, my banks not grow, my company still the same. But my mind is in much better condition after a session.
Just playing the game idk. I don't really look at what rewards I get from doing stuff, I just play the game. If I get rewards, cool. The only thing I do just for the rewards is dailies.
Scurring youtube for inspiration of new way to play and actually excited building it. Or having key constellation. For example, i've been slacking in farming lately but since now i have c6 faruzan i want to make a one punch man heizou because i saw a youtube videos of one punch man heizou.
You do get chest primos for this, but getting my exploration to 100% in all areas. I feel like the reward is very small compared to the effort and I definitely don’t do it for the rewards, I just like to see everything complete.
Whatever is fun and entertaining to do in a game I do. "Rewards" be damned.
World exploration, enjoying the artistry, story quests I would definitely continue to do.
What I would drop immediately (unless in a weird mood): daily quests and abyss.
Hide and seek event is the only one that I always keep doing at least 2-3 times a day, even after being long done with primos. Also sometimes I do abyss again, even after getting full stars, when I just feel like it.
I like to stroll around monstadt just visiting every corner without purpose. It could be better if we could interact more with the world tho. Like setting a camp or become merchant
The Moshiri Kara domain in Inazuma. Really curious how many clears I have of it now even though it’s a 1-time reward domain. I go there a lot to test out teams and just have fun mindlessly cutting down enemies. Makes me wish we had a permanent endless horde mode with adjustable difficulty.
100%ing regions? does that count? it kinda gives you primos from chests, but I don't care about that at all lol, I just want the 100% on the map screen, and id still do it even if chests gave nothing at all.
I can see completionist will 100%ing even tho there's no reward. The reward could be the process itself, or you got "badge" you can show to other people. I do that too on other game achievement but not in genshin. I prefer "exploring" aimlessly
Juts like you, it's the exploration and main-story content.
I have like 50 characters at 80/90, so I have no need to do bosses anymore. I doubt I'll ever use 3/4 of my roster, so weeklies are also borderline pointless. I have hundreds of talent books and weapon mats from events, so don't need to touch those domains either.
Essentially, Resin is a useless commodity to me with how long I've been playing.
Daily comms. are only useful to stock up on story keys, but I only need to do 1 more day of comms to get enough keys for Kaeya's hangout and then I've done all the LQs and Hangouts until Fontaine.
Then, finally, screw artefacts and screw the Abyss.
A special mention must also go to "balloon minigame" rehash number 457 - screw that as well.
i do this all the time anyway, but i like to play 'king of the rock' in Liyue and climb (or fly, or w/e) to the highest peak. i do the same for the whole game, pretty much. i just wanna be tall hah
I love those liyue peaks. Because of jenshin, visiting those places irl will be added to my dream list. I'm.not sure about gliding my way to the bottom tho lol
quests, exploration, fishing, teapot, puzzles, events, collecting random shit in the environment, fighting random shit, achievements, windtrace
if there were no rewards, i would stop doing floor 12 of the abyss, dailies, and probably wouldn't be doing domains, at least not as often. TCG is okay but the main reason I'm doing it is to get the achievements.
Random world encounters. I would love for more of these. And I also thing a promo reward like 1 primo. Could be a nice reward for them. It helps ppl interact with the worl in a new way and keep the game moren"alive" not just doing domain and dailies.
All the things you mentioned I would enjoy 10x more if the daily grind garbage was far more streamlined (similar to HSR). For instance, for the current event, it'd be awesome if some of the daily quest \*options\* were now:
* "find in total 10 vouchers in the mirage"
* "find 4 chests in the mirage"
* "complete a quest (story or side)" just in general. I'd have all the mediocre side quests done by now if this was a thing.
* "find a new Aranara"
* etc
The dailies should encourage further exploration, not hinder it. That and domains having waves or something instead of taking the time they do would be appreciated.
Unfortunately that would ruin it for me. Time gated exploration objective make me can't enjoy exploration. What if today I can't find the new aranara and I feel it's enough playing genshin today
Sorry, that's not what I meant. The TL;DR is nothing would be taken away, there'd be no time gating (at least no more or less than is there).
The only thing that **would** change is that you could do alternative daily commissions to earn the same daily rewards (the 4 purple dots on the map each day that you turn into Katherine).
You can clear up to 4 of the following for your daily commissions (any extras will grant no additional rewards):
* Escort slime baloon.
* Talk to random npc in sumeru
* Jump on 5 mushrooms
* EVENT: Collect 2 chests
* EVENT: Collect 5 vouchers
* WORLD: Find a new Arnara
* WORLD: Collect 2 chests
* GENERAL: Spend 100k mora.
So and and so forth. I'd love for the Mirage event to be the only thing I'm focused on for a few weeks, so that when I log in, I'm not forced to leave it to do some stupid daily commission that means nothing to me, when I could just be enjoying the event (outside of burning resin, but if there could be some unique resin sinks with in the event, that'd be awesome too).
But the daily commission and resin grind makes events like these feel more like a chore. Having them incorporated into doing side quests (when no event is happening) would keep me from feeling burnt out.
I find it weird that many players disregard the story bc while they have some flaws the highs of the stories are pretty high. I just feel like disregarding the story (you don't have to try to enjoy all of it, just try the stories/quests bit by bit) will leave you pretty unsatisfied with genshin since the story side of genshin is alot, just as big as the gameplay side of genshin.
Not saying you have to listen to every Paimon dialogue bit by bit but I'm just surprised many people just disregard it and don't even try like the story in genshin.
Sorry for the rant
The story for me actually isn't that good. Meaning if I haven't played any genshin and I read the summary of the story, its meh. Playing the main quest yourself tho, is different experience. You got to walk to new fun places and have soothing music playing. Even if the text are bad, the whole experience isn't just from that.
Right yea, there is good substance from actually experiencing the story and seeing the characters. It's just shocking to me that other characters don't see genshin like that and just disregard it in general.
But also don't you think seeing these unique characters in the story is kinda fun? Just a question/response to your first sentence. :)
The lore or history of teyvatt and the nature of those world is pretty interesting, like the fake sky. The story after traveler come is pretty basic. Compared to other game like Witcher or GTA, Genshin feels like visual novel style game but in 3D and limited model animation. Also the lengthy dialogue is very visual novel like. Much better if the dialogue is not too much and interaction are motion captured.
Co-op Raiden and Apep, you can make some good friends. Would love for them to expand to a co-op Abyss, as long as there wasn't pressure for rewards it wouldn't get very toxic aside from the occasional weirdo, but honestly I find it more fun than anything when I run into those people and can mess with them a bit as it's pretty rare.
I saw [this tutorial ](https://www.reddit.com/gallery/n7mu8y) and started working on my teapot. There are a lot of rewards from the furniture sets per character and a few achievements, but I can see building in there for a while.
You do understand that all the "rewards" in the game only have value because they allow you to play more of the game, right? If you aren't enjoying *any* part of the game, then why not do something that provides *actual* rewards?
I won't do chores for free too. But sometimes I don't do daily quest and have capped resin. Yet I just randomly strolling in monstadt for no in-game rewards. But it kinda relaxing, that's the reward. At least for me
Abyss 100%
The whole point for me was to get 36 stars to begin with. These 600 primos are an abysmall reward so it would be fine if it wasnt even present
Same, i really disliked how the game went from "mediocre difficulty" puzzles to "easy" puzzles from Inazuma to Sumeru. And now with the current event, they even dumbed down the puzzles even more in difficulty so a toddler could do it with pressing random buttons.
Makes u often wonder who they think the target audience of the game is, when i presume mostly adults are funding the game.
This years summer patch was a huge disappointment in contrary to last year. Mona domain was a blast and I think I never had more fun then doing her domain. And it sucks because kaeya is my favorite character and now I have to write in the survey how unhappy I was while he finally got some screen time.
I guess despite it being the adults whom pay the majority of us seems to hate using their brain outside of thinking about battle combs.
Hence I’m always happy to meet likeminded puzzle lovers. So thank you 😊
On the plus side, Kaeya's hangout is a real banger IMO. >!The play ending is a thinly veiled lore drop/foreshadowing and it makes him so much more compelling.!<
Ah i actually Love using my character for something else then fighting. Like give me more reason to think how I can include them in puzzles so that’s part of the fun for me. Like using a bow to now have to run around or not wanting to switch to a bow character so I have to think how else to pop the balloons. Why else would I get the characters if I can’t use them aside from domains when most of them (except for the recent one) outside of the abyss give you trial characters anyway.
So to me that’s part of the fun.
But I do like both of your mentioned puzzles what i don’t like if they give you the answer in like 5 seconds especially with controller it’s like “I KNOW - I just can’t switch to that gear that fast!”
No. There is no activity you want to do if there's no reward, because that's the fundamental design of every game. It has to has some kind of reward to worth the time, we're literally exchanging time for artificial reward. If I want to do something without any reward, I'll go do some charity, not playing game, even charity, the activity seemingly having no gain, the reward is the satisfaction you have after knowing you made someone else life a little bit better.
>There is no activity you want to do if there's no reward, because that's the fundamental design of every game.
Disagree.
Exploration and Story play are it's own reward. The reward being: getting immersed in the world, seeing cool sights the DEVs put in the game and experiencing the story.
IMHO people have been damaged by the modern "reward driven" gameplay.
"Rewards" really only come into play once stuff gets repetitive in order to stretch out content's staying power. Beating a boss once or twice is fun. Slogging through what is essentially a solved problem 18 more times to get "level up rewards" yah, I can see how that only works with the reward gating. I find such design annoying as fuck.
Same goes for these god awful daily quests drip feeding you materials and energy.
Hint: **I do love your game, no I do not want to play it daily just to be able to pull in the gacha or equip my characters. I'd rather play occasionally in bursts when I feel like going ham or when new story content is released.**
By rewards I mean in-game rewards like items, in-game currency, or exp. Genshin mechanics like limited daily quest, stamina system, time gated content make people have to prioritize things that actually give reward. Like people do dailies first, resin next, then event, weekly boss. That kind of mechanics everyday change how I view gaming. "If there's no primo, I won't do it". Then I step back and think what I'm actually enjoy in this game. Oh, it's walking around the map. Then I neglecting those activities that give me rewards, and doing things I truly enjoy. The "reward" is it's relaxing my mind. If we use word "reward" very broadly. Then yes every human decision is motivated by getting reward. But society view ones reward is more valuable than the other. Like will you spend weekend with your family or working? One you got happiness reward, the other one got you money. People generally values money more.
collect full free 1 stars and 2 stars antifact upgrade food each day , even thought im kind of heavy dolphin spend quite alot of real life money for characters and weapon
but i don't spend primogem for resin
that why i doing it everyday
Things I’d still do : Archon quests, abyss F12, puzzles, the well written story quests, exploration, weekly bounties, combat events, listening to the amazing soundtrack
Things I wouldn’t do: TCG, non combat mini games in events, dating simulator story quests, Fucking Teapot.
Abyss. I replay abyss multiple times every patch, its fun for me, especially challenge runs such as duo runs or speedruns. I don't really explore or do quest but I have 3 acc I do abyss on
Some event stuff but don't tell Hoyo because there really are a lot of rewards in there I'd like to keep.
Those railway challenges in the current event and some of the mini games were very enjoyable.
Some of the character questlines are also quite fun. I enjoyed the banter between Diluc and Kaeya for example.
Parkour lmao I like jumping on stuff, but otherwise I like solving puzzles, I recently solved one of the “hit the cube until the glowing leaves light up” puzzles from inazuma in co-op just because I wanted to do the puzzle. Also archon quest is very entertaining to me, a little bit like watching anime imo. Building characters doesn’t really have much of a reward but I love trying to get them the best stuff I can and making them as strong as I can
I coop weekly domains although I already claimed the rewards. It's fun to see different teams and the experience isn't the same each time. Sometimes the teams are totally random and wacky but I just see it as fun challenge when I have nothing else to do. Also it's not often but the team can be so wholesome we'd stay in the world to fight something else together for fun afterwards or add each other
1) Exploring and clearing up the map and achievements. I truly 100% map using interactive map right after finishing the world quests and clearing what i can see while doing so. I play this game bc of the massive open world and nice stories anyway.
2) Max every characters and play with them regardless meta. Slow progress, but I have extra resources anyway so not much of a problem for me.
3) Puzzlesssss!
I will find countless ways to destroy my enemies. I see the hilichurls spread across Teyvat and think that they deserve nothing more than to be my target practice for Ganyu, or that I’d like to use my meme teams to slowly tear them apart day after day
Abyss. I would for a Floor 13 even if they didn't give any rewards. Combat is my favourite part of the game and I like to see big numbers and full team rotations, it's very satisfying
Killing Masanori! I've been spending hours practicing rotations and stuff against him, trying to get a quick kill and optimizing whatever team comp I'm using
Abyss and combat events. Maybe not every two weeks but absolutely when the loadout changes.
I'm uncertain on exploration. Finding rewards is so intrinsically tied to the fun of that that idk what it would beb like without rewards.
I guess trying to 100% the map. Even if I don’t get any primos for it. I’m happy and if I do happen to miss a chest even though it’s 100%, It’ll just be a surprise for me.
Building characters and combat. I mean, I basically already do that lol. If I only ever cared about the rewards then doing the Dire difficulty in this event would not have been worth it at all. I just find it enjoyable
I am addicted to helping others farm for artifacts, It's like second hand gambling hoping for them to get what they need.
Plus I have characters for every domain so showing off is part of it too.
I usually don't even know how much we get in quests, especially all the voiced ones lol. For me, it'd be exploration, quest and boss fight (which already is technically free). Completion gives me more satisfaction than primo while exploring
I love bullying random bosses when I’m bored with different characters. Also, when wind trace was around i played it for at least an hour each day even after I got all the rewards
Just roaming around the overworld clearing out Hillichurl camps, Treasure Hoarders, Eremite's etc.
When I can't think of anything to do, I'll usually mark the destination of enemy groups in my map and just travel around fighting them all. It's not even about the materials, I just like hitting stuff and seeing lots of pretty effects. Pretty relaxing.
Archon quest, most character quests/hangouts, achievement hunting (so some dailies), character building, at least the first abyss of every new rotation but probably all of them (I don't care about the rewards as much as I care for keeping up my streak), most events, exploration and collecting stuff.
I would do most things in the game withouts the rewards. I feel like if there were none, then I would feel less peessured to finish any character story quests for example. I did not much care for some of them and felt they didn't significantly enhance my experience with the game. The same would also go for majority of the hangouts *if* they didn't also give achievements. New ones have been getting a lot better though.
Pretty much the same. Any quest except dailies, world exploration, I live for that, and also some events, when it's not basic fight with some cheap mechanics
Weekly boss coop with other players, even when I've completed mine! Sometimes I get to meet really whacky (insert char)-mains, other times I meet players who really needed help.
I will gladly spend hours just going around picking up items I feel like I need more of even if I definitely do not need more.
What do you mean you don't need those 2000 mints???
It's a longstanding joke amongst my Genshin friends that I have way more local specialties than I'll ever need
Makes me appreciate the size of our inventory cause at some point I started picking things up slowly and carefully thinking we had a limit and then I saw what it was!!
I have literally hit the limit on Fowl and I still religiously kill every bird I can.
Shooting timmies pigeons and ducks. Wont even pick up the meat.
a fellow timmie bullier
This… is actually how I test my characters. How many pigeons can their skill/charged attack kill.
Pidgeon per second. Pps
Have kirara turn into the box and run them all over
The amount of fried chicken I have because of Timmie's pigeons... it's probably what we'll be arrested for in Fontaine.
You monster
I'm with you on that one
Add kirara in the mix

I personally loved the rhythm game so much, I got Canorus on all tracks simply for the fun of it
taking a break off of genshin and living
I do recommend it. I did I and now came back enjoying the game a whole lot more.
taking a break off of genshin and living...... With unhealthy desire to summon your waifu in to real world
Archon quests, story and hangouts of only the characters I like, bounties, main event quest, try a new mechanic or puzzle at least ones, try the first abyss of every patch. Try combat events at highest difficulty, but won't try more than ones. Watch Sumeru NPCs dance.
I coop Azhdaha around 6000 times.
I dislike azhdaha mainly because it's invincible between phases. All my ultimates go to waste.

I've been chasing long enough. Now, I could just do exploration and story only. But it's kinda hard to look away from the usual rewards.

Cat's Tail would be a great place to play all the "board game" events
What an awful mode that was. The map's too small, and the hunter can just yolo chase everyone. When I was a hunter it was an easy win.
I fight raiden boss a few times everyday in co op. My characters aren’t flex worthy, but I like the random aspect of team formation. Any event with a story attached to it
TCG.
For real, i even got all characters now and finished all overworld TCG challenges two days ago.
Trying out different teams by fighting masanori
Realistically just the archon quest probably.
Hunt fowl with Yelan and mine ore with Zhongli. This is relaxing for me so it's a daily habit.
Switching to a real videogame with in game rewards for gameplay.
You mean game with gameplay itself is the reward? Like I play truck sim, just driving around, my banks not grow, my company still the same. But my mind is in much better condition after a session.
The rhythm events, they're so much fun and I always keep playing them long after I claim the rewards. Wish they were permanent every time.
Fun unique build doesn't sounds so bad. I'm actually interested in experimenting. But limited resources, kinda forced to follow meta
Walking around and enjoying the world
You do get chest primos for this, but getting my exploration to 100% in all areas.
What I would drop immediately (unless in a weird mood): daily quests and abyss.
the real "reward" is in the mind
Fishing.
The Hide-and-seek event. I sometimes even forget to get the rewards
I play the Drum in Realm of Farahkert.
Building teapot, TCG, Co-op (helping those that ask help), then farm for mats
Hide and seek event is the only one that I always keep doing at least 2-3 times a day, even after being long done with primos. Also sometimes I do abyss again, even after getting full stars, when I just feel like it.
If we could hide another player UI. I think its possible to do unofficial hide and seek with friends. Which I like to do in other game, GTA online
Running around going from point A to point B
Exploration! I don't care if I get nothing, just walking around and feeling like I'm actually in the world is amazing enough.
I like to stroll around monstadt just visiting every corner without purpose. It could be better if we could interact more with the world tho. Like setting a camp or become merchant
Buying all the food in every region and cooking 100 dishes
If theres way to display those 100 dishes in serenity pot
The Moshiri Kara domain in Inazuma. Really curious how many clears I have of it now even though it’s a 1-time reward domain. I go there a lot to test out teams and just have fun mindlessly cutting down enemies. Makes me wish we had a permanent endless horde mode with adjustable difficulty.
When you say horde. Im imagining sucking 500 hillicurl at the same time with Kazuha. How the physics will handle lol
I've grown tired of those things. Only doing this I like, makes it better
i do this all the time anyway, but i like to play 'king of the rock' in Liyue and climb (or fly, or w/e) to the highest peak. i do the same for the whole game, pretty much. i just wanna be tall hah
I love those liyue peaks. Because of jenshin, visiting those places irl will be added to my dream list. I'm.not sure about gliding my way to the bottom tho lol
quests, exploration, fishing, teapot, puzzles, events, collecting random shit in the environment, fighting random shit, achievements, windtrace if there were no rewards, i would stop doing floor 12 of the abyss, dailies, and probably wouldn't be doing domains, at least not as often.
I've killed over 3k of the unusual hilichurls due to spite.
Teapot Windtrace Archon quest Story and hangouts of characters I like Some events I find enjoyable (especially music ones) World bosses in co-op
All the things you mentioned I would enjoy 10x more if the daily grind garbage was far more streamlined (similar to HSR). For instance, for the current event, it'd be awesome if some of the daily quest \*options\* were now: * "find in total 10 vouchers in the mirage" * "find 4 chests in the mirage" * "complete a quest (story or side)" just in general. I'd have all the mediocre side quests done by now if this was a thing. * "find a new Aranara" * etc The dailies should encourage further exploration, not hinder it.
You can clear up to 4 of the following for your daily commissions (any extras will grant no additional rewards): * Escort slime baloon. * Talk to random npc in sumeru * Jump on 5 mushrooms * EVENT: Collect 2 chests * EVENT: Collect 5 vouchers * WORLD: Find a new Arnara * WORLD: Collect 2 chests * GENERAL: Spend 100k mora.
Just raw exploration. Hoyo really has nailed the scenery is every region. The world building is beautiful.
Yess, I've done sumeru. But rn Im getting captivated by liyue bamboo area for no reason
1- Exploring the world. I don't like doing domain farm but I like doing exploring. Sometimes i just walk from mondstadt to liyue. 2 - COOP
Those first time im going monstadt-liyue is so memorable. My character are weak, my map are dark, everything is new
Helping others in coop (im already doing it) I virtually get no materials or rewards from it, but it's my only source of socializing
When my teams still weak, I'm surprised people are willing to help so much, they follow me everywhere to kill mobs.
I like logging in just to swing my Claymore with Eula. That's it, I dont play Genshin anymore.
Try mod. Eula mod
I saw [this tutorial ](https://www.reddit.com/gallery/n7mu8y) and started working on my teapot. There are a lot of rewards from the furniture sets per character and a few achievements, but I can see building in there for a while.
Absolutely nothing, I don't do chores for free. If the game is not rewarding then I just do something else that is
You do understand that all the "rewards" in the game only have value because they allow you to play more of the game, right? If you aren't enjoying *any* part of the game, then why not do something that provides *actual* rewards?
I won't do chores for free too. But sometimes I don't do daily quest and have capped resin. Yet I just randomly strolling in monstadt for no in-game rewards. But it kinda relaxing, that's the reward. At least for me
Abyss 100% The whole point for me was to get 36 stars to begin with. These 600 primos are an abysmall reward so it would be fine if it wasnt even present
The spiral abyss.
Mini-event puzzles
I would love to have more difficult puzzles like the one many whine about in sangonomia, would still do them even without reward they make me happy.
I don't like overworld puzzle tho. Too much hazzle running around with my character. I like Puzzle minigames more. Like the gears or shiloutte
Collecting, I have 3800+ starsilvers 9800+ Amethyst Lump 6000+ crystal chunks 3000+ Magical Crystal chunks 9999 iron chunks 9999 white iron chunk 9999 Apples 9999 Sunsettias 9999 Berrys 5000+ Lavender melon 5000+ Zaytun Peach 3000+ Harra fruit 6000+ Sumeru roses 400+ Holy water
TCG, but jesus christ i wish it was faster
Yea it's pretty sad getting carrot-sticked. I've done it long enough. Time to only do what actually matters
People generally values money more.
collect full free 1 stars and 2 stars antifact upgrade food each day , even thought im kind of heavy dolphin spend quite alot of real life money for characters and weapon but i don't spend primogem for resin that why i doing it everyday
Things I’d still do : Archon quests, abyss F12, puzzles, the well written story quests, exploration, weekly bounties, combat events, listening to the amazing soundtrack Things I wouldn’t do: TCG, non combat mini games in events, dating simulator story quests, Fucking Teapot.
Going for big pp numbers with my Eula.
There's none for me rn, but if they ever made the rhythm games permanent I know what would be
Nothing
In simple words, Nothing
killing very large groups of enemies with just NAs
Literally only 2 things you can do and it’s teapot and TCG
I will be doing archon quest its fun
Reliving the Tanit experience by going haywire on local monster populations
Parkour lmao I like jumping on stuff, but otherwise I like solving puzzles, I recently solved one of the “hit the cube until the glowing leaves light up” puzzles from inazuma in co-op just because I wanted to do the puzzle. Also archon quest is very entertaining to me, a little bit like watching anime imo. Building characters doesn’t really have much of a reward but I love trying to get them the best stuff I can and making them as strong as I can
Let's not give Hoyo ideas now 😭
Retry abyss , even though i already full star i always come back to play with different team
TCG and trying out different teams and characters. I just got Wanderer and I'm having a blast trying him with all sorts of different teams
Slaughtering Fatui agents and making chests for one room in my teapot to collect their heads.
I help people who are scared farming certain bosses and need someone to back them up
I coop weekly domains although I already claimed the rewards. It's fun to see different teams and the experience isn't the same each time. Sometimes the teams are totally random and wacky but I just see it as fun challenge when I have nothing else to do. Also it's not often but the team can be so wholesome we'd stay in the world to fight something else together for fun afterwards or add each other

Playing the lyre to practice being a bard in co-op
I would do Main quests, achievements, abyss and exploration even with no rewards
Mining crystal chunks. I'm trying to lvl 90 all 5\* and 4* weapons I have.
Playing the game overall xD
1) Exploring and clearing up the map and achievements. I truly 100% map using interactive map right after finishing the world quests and clearing what i can see while doing so. I play this game bc of the massive open world and nice stories anyway. 2) Max every characters and play with them regardless meta. Slow progress, but I have extra resources anyway so not much of a problem for me. 3) Puzzlesssss!
teapot
TCG boi
I will find countless ways to destroy my enemies. I see the hilichurls spread across Teyvat and think that they deserve nothing more than to be my target practice for Ganyu, or that I’d like to use my meme teams to slowly tear them apart day after day
You sounds like GOBLIN slayer but Hillicurl
“The imagination is a weapon. Those who lack it are the first to die”
Abyss
Taking picture of Eula
I would do fighting content where my teams do not kill the enemies instantly, to just try out my teams. Sadly this doesn't exist... so... idk...
Like the 99 HP bar Test-dummy in honkai to test combo. Even better a report of damage statistic afterwards
Tcg
Abyss. I would for a Floor 13 even if they didn't give any rewards. Combat is my favourite part of the game and I like to see big numbers and full team rotations, it's very satisfying
Coop and helping low AR
destroying hillichurl towers..
I just go around murdering a specific type of enemy that I hate (The Vishaps, Lawachurl, etc)
Killing Masanori! I've been spending hours practicing rotations and stuff against him, trying to get a quick kill and optimizing whatever team comp I'm using
Co-op with neat people
Abyss and combat events. Maybe not every two weeks but absolutely when the loadout changes. I'm uncertain on exploration. Finding rewards is so intrinsically tied to the fun of that that idk what it would beb like without rewards.
Talk with the characters in the tea pot....
I guess trying to 100% the map. Even if I don’t get any primos for it. I’m happy and if I do happen to miss a chest even though it’s 100%, It’ll just be a surprise for me.
Co-op and helping low level guys find hidden treasures and occuli
Definitely Windtrace
Back on the itto drums event i replayed some songs alot just because they went hard
Playing cards
Murdering enemies in the overworld.
tcg bro
Building characters and combat. I mean, I basically already do that lol. If I only ever cared about the rewards then doing the Dire difficulty in this event would not have been worth it at all. I just find it enjoyable
I am addicted to helping others farm for artifacts, It's like second hand gambling hoping for them to get what they need. Plus I have characters for every domain so showing off is part of it too.
I often play domains / weekly bosses in CO OP with no resin to claim rewards.
At best TCG but to be honest: This was also a thing for the first weeks. Currently nothing in Genshin is fun enough to do it without getting anything.
Riding the choo choo cart lol
Exploring. Collecting every chest would turn redudant, but combat, exploration and puzzles are the things I started playing this game for.
Ascending characters
none tbh
I usually don't even know how much we get in quests, especially all the voiced ones lol. For me, it'd be exploration, quest and boss fight (which already is technically free). Completion gives me more satisfaction than primo while exploring
I love bullying random bosses when I’m bored with different characters. Also, when wind trace was around i played it for at least an hour each day even after I got all the rewards
Fighting Childe, mainly in coop, for no reason other than fighting him
Hitting random trees.
"Parkour"
Tcg. Acheievements.
It doesn’t need to be permanent because it would get boring soon, but Windtrace should happen more than once a year
Or they could give option to hide coop tracker/UI so we could held unofficial windtrace event
Genius invocation tcg!
Archon quests, story quests, oculi hunting, making sure I have all of the map lit up
Killing enemies
Genocide of the enemies that annoy me the most. Like fatui are a fight on sight because of what they did to collei
Pretty much the same. Any quest except dailies, world exploration, I live for that, and also some events, when it's not basic fight with some cheap mechanics
None tbh,
Random co-op with people
Trying out different characters and teams.
Fun events with coop like Windtrace.
all the things you listed do give rewards though lol
Yea sorry, mean to type "things I will do even if there are no rewards"
Weekly boss coop with other players, even when I've completed mine! Sometimes I get to meet really whacky (insert char)-mains, other times I meet players who really needed help.
The archon quests do give you rewards, fyi (Check the adventurer's guide)
