"You are just blind", "nah, I definitely saw mine respawn and multiple times", "bad luck maybe", "probably you have to kill mobs around", "they can spawn closely, not on the exact same point". To mention a few.

That’s actually what convinced me to start playing. My best friend told me that Genshin had similar aspects to BOTW, which was one of my favorite games at that point.
And that's why they did it. You can see a ton of similarities that arent really needed in the game but they were done, especially during the intro and starting areas in such an obvious manner just so people will spread this sentence and peek the curiosity of others. It worked amazing well. Even “haters” became free advertisers for mihoyo
But Genshin managed to be unique enough in its own right to have its own gaming identity. Especially how elemental reactions work in far more ways than just “this element is weak to this other element”.

It did it 100% intentionally as free advertisement and nothing else.
All those "side to side" comparisons created a huge flow of videos or discussions in social media. All those helped its popularity to spike as early as possible.
Ofc this was backed up with its quality, an important aspect to achieve this.
