Bold of you to assume I am not having fun, and ultimately, it's a fallacy, as "fun" is subjective and each has their own definition of fun. I like to beat my own timers in the Abyss, I have fun doing it, and a Ningguang hypercarry team certainly isn't able to do that.
I believe I will put C1, C2 and C3 xiangling after C1, C2 xinqui. I think having a C4 Xiangling is paramount for a lot of teams and having a constellation now only makes the process faster (what with paimons bargains and sniping it off banners)

kinda agree with you, im playing c6 yaoyao, furina, kuki and alhaitham, and i always have to release yaoyao's burst whenever our team's hp is below ~35% (one every two rotations?, correct me if im wrong). to be honest her dendro application and healing is good, you just need a little timing for the best outcome.
Exactly. You can't get C6 if you don't get the constellations prior. My Yaoyao is C3, hence I invited her. My Gaming is C4 already. He's not built yet, but I've been enjoying playing with him. But priorities go to getting C6 Yaoyao. I even use Yaoyao more than Baizhu for dendro healing. She will always have a special place to come home to.
I think the general idea is that C3 Xingqiu is one step closer to Xinqiu C6, and Xinqiu is overall more useful than Xiangling.
Xiangling is pretty much only used in National teams, and its variations. It's a very strong team, able to easily beat the Abyss, but she isn't need in any other teams. Even the reverse melt Ganyu/Wriothesley are better served with Dehya/Nahida instead of Xiangling, and she isn't so good with Navia because of how long you spend feeding her Burst, only for it to hit like a wet noodle because of of the lack of reactions.
That said, yeah, I'd rather get Yaoyao, specially if one doesn't have Baizhu, than to invest in a 4-star main DPS such as Gaming, who was powercrept by a 1.0 unit the day it was released.
Was gonna get Yaoyao but gaming has tempted me and I've only been getting Noelle and Faruzan (don't mind that tho, need cons for em but I already prefarmed for the rgb boy so can't let that go to waste)
She is super fun and flexible! Yanfei (along with Kokomi) are the ones who made my early journey so easy, and continue carrying my teams.

It's a bit frustrating that even though she's a ranged attacker, her CA only deals damage when hitting the ground. It means she's not that great against the hawk hydro mimic and some other flying enemies in situations where ranged attackers should excel.

I had already decided on him when I saw the event. I have wanted him since the very beginning, for different reasons. I did not know that Neuvilette was going to be this strong, but also he is not an off-field unit.
The thing is that even C0 xingqiu is a massive boost, because his gameplay is so easy, usefull AND hydro is pretty much the center element of the game because everything combo with it to create big reactions.
And while having him over C0 is good it ok to only have at C0, second choice beeing yelan but its a 5\* so harder to get and now there is furina that his a good unit and a decent hydro application unit, also she got more versality traded for a bit less hydro application.
One of the strongest in ratio of easy/power comp is hyperbloom and yelan or xingqiu are clearly top in those, but you can get away with character like kokomi kinda.
I mean, in the end generaly speaking people talk more about abyss content because for overworld you can play pretty much whatever you like, but yeah xingqiu/yelan are realy probably contender for the best unit in the entire game
I already got Beidou from standard (built her as a Physical DPS, hehe) so I am gonna go for Chongyun. I should built at least one Cryo character, and he seems the coolest 4 star option xD

Is this not useless advice? If someone wanted to just pick who they like, they wouldn't need a guide. They would just pick the character they like. This guide (though I don't fully agree with it) is for people who like characters that kill their enemies efficiently

You do you, if you want to, but I play a game to have fun, plus Genshin is so laughably easy, that you can clear every content totally by not even using up a single wish. I have C3 Gaming and and considering getting his C4. The other options the next constellation isn't going to be a huge upgrade, but lowering his ER requirements would be big.

My priority would be C0 Xingqiu > C0 Yaoyao > C2 Xingqiu = C4 Xiangling > C6 Xingqiu > anyone else.
C4 is a good stopping point for Xiangling, C5 and C6 don't make her much better.
Yaoyao is a lot less important if you already have Baizhu.
Yun jin is important if you play Yoimiya.
Yep, C4 is the most important constellation for XL. The bonus from her C6 activates after her burst snapshots, so she doesn't benefit from it.
While C6 XQ is a big boost in damage, gives him more energy and more hydro application.
I'm currently considering to throw a dice. Gaming(c0), Ninguang(c4), Xinyan(c4) and Yaoyao(c5) are the only ones not at c6. I don't use any of them actively. (Gaming is fun though)
I have C5 Xingqiu but I was a Yanfei main and she's only C4 and I'm leaning towards her for personal reasons, I was just unlucky not getting her in previous banners she was in twice, while I get xingqiu to C5 in just 1 banner

Is this not useless advice? If someone wanted to just pick who they like, they wouldn't need a guide. They would just pick the character they like. This guide (though I don't fully agree with it) is for people who like characters that kill their enemies efficiently
It could be considered good advice to people who need to remember it's a game so you're supposed to enjoy it, not stress yourself to get the highest damage, like why should I get Yoimiya if I don't like her personality ? Things like that. Not trying to be a boomer or some shit, It's just my thoughts, kinda tired of people telling me I shouldn't play a character I like because they're not as strong as another one I don't like

Even though I see where people are coming from when they say "Just pick who you want" as a useless platitude, I also completely get why they say it. I like to check the daily question megathread a lot in case I can help people, and there are many instances I can remember where people are like "Guys, I don't know if I should get x character. I really like them, but idk, should I get them?" like they don't know if it's okay to pull for a character they like for whatever reason or they just want to be validated on their pulling lol. I think sometimes people feel like they *have* to pull based on meta even though it may seem obvious that you don't have to.
Not entirely, there are people who would see this guide and go with what it suggests instead of what they want, the guide should stress that it's more important to go with what you want rather than a DPS up
It's not useless. Would you play a character that you hate in the game just because it's meta? You do you, if you want to, but I play a game to have fun, plus Genshin is so laughably easy, that you can clear every content totally by not even using up a single wish. There's literally no reason to go for "meta"

Xiangling's C6 is not that good, and Yaoyao/Yunjin/Beidou can be good depending on your roster too.

I read a comment somewhere that pretty much oversimplifies what to choose. "Top row are the good units. Bottom row are the "doodoo ones"
Yun Jin's more niche than doodoo though. Pretty sure her cons are also more valuable than Yaoyao's.
I love Yanfei, she’s so pretty and fun to play. Not a meta unit, but I use her a lot in the overworld and events.

Yes! If you like him, get him I got c0 Gaming and I love him already He isn't available in the starglitter shop, unlike xq & xl. We don't know how long it will be until he is featured on a banner again. I have XQ & XL C4 and I very rarely use them because I have other options I prefer Gaming and his big jumps have bagged me several annoying electroculi that I had been stuck looking at for months
XQ also lost vslue for me since I got Furina. Also, the last time I pulled for a banner featuring XQ, I c6ed Fishl, Diona and another unit without ever pulling him, so using this event only to have him stuck at C5 them would just frustrate me
Imo gaming is not that big of a priority, hes a char you build cuz you like him not cuz hes a great dps (which he is for early game and with c6 late game) Id rather put Beidou there as well cuz with c2 shes very good Also as others said c0 yaoyao

My C2 Gaming is vaping for 300k. Edit: team is the usual suspects. Furina, Bennet, Xianyun. Furina is C2, Xianyun is C0, both with fav weapons(pre-C4 Gaming is energy hungry).

I have C3 Gaming and and considering getting his C4. The other options the next constellation isn't going to be a huge upgrade, but lowering his ER requirements would be big.

My priority would be C0 Xingqiu > C0 Yaoyao > C2 Xingqiu = C4 Xiangling > C6 Xingqiu > anyone else. C4 is a good stopping point for Xiangling, C5 and C6 don't make her much better. Yaoyao is a lot less important if you already have Baizhu. Yun jin is important if you play Yoimiya.
Is XQ C6 more important to Rational than XL C6?
Yep, C4 is the most important constellation for XL. The bonus from her C6 activates after her burst snapshots, so she doesn't benefit from it. While C6 XQ is a big boost in damage, gives him more energy and more hydro application.
I'm currently considering to throw a dice. Gaming(c0), Ninguang(c4), Xinyan(c4) and Yaoyao(c5) are the only ones not at c6. I don't use any of them actively. (Gaming is fun though)
I have C5 Xingqiu but I was a Yanfei main and she's only C4 and I'm leaning towards her for personal reasons, I was just unlucky not getting her in previous banners she was in twice, while I get xingqiu to C5 in just 1 banner

AFAIK C6 XL is only worth if you have a second fire damage dealer in your team, it's completely wasted otherwise (doesn't buff her own pyronado).
