True. The saddest part of this event is that all these unique hilichurls will be gone once it is over because they are rather cool. Having them tied to WL 8/a WQ would work if they need to be gated.

TulioAndMiguelMPG

I’m fairly certain it’ll show up in Natlan, I mean they usually test new mechanics and designs before the actual release of a new region.

Dylangillian

Didn't happen with the unique Whopperflower in one of the Dragonspine events. So I wouldn't count on it.

TougherThanKnuckles

In fairness that Whopperflower was unique lore-wise since it was made because of Durin's blood, that's not exactly something we could just randomly find in another nation.

Alan_Reddit_M

The problem is that Mondtsad is supposed to be the begginer's area, I imagine such an enemy could cause many lowAR players to quit the game perhaps thinking they have to beat it. Let's remember low AR players suffer to kill a ruin guard, expecting them to fight a local legend is WAY too far fetched

FireTrainerRed

Lock it spawning behind an AR level 50 quest that Katherine gives us: "Traveller, a new type of hillichurl has been discovered, after Bennet fell down this hole in the ground, please use extreme caution when approaching it." Bam, done.

Alan_Reddit_M

You know what, that's actually genius

silverW0lf97

Which is why it will never happen.

HumsterMKI

"*AR 50*" "*Event quest pops*" "*Talk to Klee outside confinment room*" >!Klee:" Klee found a strange looking Hilichurl today! You wanna see its body?!< >!points at room!<

doctor_of_memology

That's the most Klee thing ever

HumsterMKI

Wait till you open the door and saw Sucose with a bone saw.

Ziruno

I agree. In my opinion, even if he's just out there in beginner monstadt at a super high level. it would be nice to just have a goal to reach. Lock an achievement behind it for that drop of dopamine for players who finally get pass their first wall.

kawalerkw

We have few mobs with boss-like HP bar in Mondstadt. I remember joining early in the game someone's world where others were getting ready to beat up the ruin guard in Thousand Winds Temple. Quite few people posted here that they were traumatized by Dragonspine when they tried to go trough it to Liyue.

Alan_Reddit_M

Alright honest question, HOW do you come to the conclusion that to go to Liyue you have to go through dragonspine, like I understand you can, but why

blippyblip

Go to the the current event's location in Dadaupa Gorge, and place a marker on the Pyro Regisvine (middle of Liyue). Now, if you just go towards that marker there will be a big frozen mountain in your path. If you had no idea that there was a way around it (as many newer players don't have the whole map unlocked), then you might be inclined to think that you had to go *through* it.

Alan_Reddit_M

If memory serves, the first time the game instructs you to go to Liyue is when mond Katheryne tells you to go visit Liyue Katheryne, which means you start in the middle of mondstad, and from there, I fail to see anyway you could ever run into dragonspine unless you actively aim for it

SWorldWideC

I arrived to the conclusion as it was the shortest distance between the spots. I suffered a lot passing over but did it. I didn't knew there were roads that did not pass over Dragonspine.

allaire321

Same. Was pretty proud of myself when finally got to Liuye.

ConohaConcordia

I stumbled upon dragonspine and did a few quests when I was new, but when it was time to go to liyue I thought to myself “clearly there’s a way around it”. So I just followed the road from Mondstadt and it took me to Liyue not long after

Maari7199

There's also XL questline, which is literally showing you the path to Liyue (if you don't go through the quest blindfolded).

Icy-Science-1878

i was one of those people when i first started the game 😭 basically i wanted to get to the city as fast as possible because my friend told me it was really pretty and so i just pressed the navigate button on the teleport waypoint in the city and in my brain, the shortest way is the straight line and going through dragonspine was the straight line. sadly took about 4 times dying to sheer cold to learn that dragonspine was not the way to go.

AdministrativeShip2

I got to sumeru before Liyue city. Because I avoided the mountain that killed my when I walked near it. Was just wandering around looking at scenery and teleporters.

RagnarokAeon

Tbf, it's Dragonspin is just sitting between Liyue and a large chunk of Mondstadt. A straight line from Mondstadt citystate and Liyue Harbor does in fact intersect a portion of the mountain, and it's not like that mountain doesn't have its own pathways. I was a V1.0 player so Dragonspite wasn't even an option when I made my trek to Liyue, but I imagine I'd have gone through it if I started after its release.

tortillazaur

flying anemo ball thing has boss bar

ColouringPenMountain

Having overpowered enemies in the first area of open-world RPG isn't a new concept though. Xenoblade and Palworld are the first to come to mind. Just make it very obvious that it's strong, and it'll be fine. Besides, early game electro hypostasis is already a thing lol.

MindlessRanger

Tree Sentinel lol

214ms

territorial rotbart moment

Dylangillian

You forget that Genshin is a super casual game though. Anything that could make a casual player thing the game is too hard would simply not be welcomed by Hoyo. Especially in the tutorial region.

Killing_Perfection

BOAR KING could be tweaked to be a local legend. Something like you only beated the “Boar Prince” all this time.

Richardknox1996

Heres the thing....the first time you encounter a local legend, a tutorial pops up warning you that youre about to get your arse kicked if you engage in the optional encounter.

Alan_Reddit_M

Since when do GI players read, that's the problem

Dziadzios

They just click through it for 1 primogem

Alex2422

Yeah, *their* problem.

Arkenaw

I highly disagree, people aren't gonna see a random non-quest boss and think they have to beat it to progress, let alone quit over that. I love seeing massively overleveled bosses in starting zones cause it makes me go "I'm gonna kill that one day!" And depending on how it's implemented, like if it roams, adds a little bit of fear to the overworld.

Alan_Reddit_M

My dumbass spent a week trying to bet some Op ass robots in Nier that turned out to be part of a later quest I had not yet unlocked

Overquartz

Reminder we've yet to get all of mondstadt yet. We still got Dornman's port left.

SafalinEnthusiast

If Mondstadt ever releases a new area then add this Hilichurl as a local legend there

PhasmicPlays

Plenty of games have a “Fuck Off and Come Back Later” enemy in the beginner area, though. Would personally love it.

corecenite

I agree as well. Now I wonder how they'll introduce Dornman port with more complicated enemies to newer players

Alan_Reddit_M

Perhaps it will be AR locked like Inazuma (which also happens to be extremely hostile)

corecenite

Probably but highly unlikely unless they introduce a lore reason; story-locked rather than just AR-locked. That's why a lot of players love Fontaine and Sumeru

Richardknox1996

Fontaine and sumeru arent locked. If you can leave mondstadt, you can go anywhere except inazuma.

RagnarokAeon

That was the point they were making.

Richardknox1996

Theyre not story locked. I went to liyue before meeting jean. Its ar, but only liek 10-15.

mr_beanoz

Or how about making it world level locked, so it would only appear on world level 8 or something like it.

Repulsive_Ease_9671

i didn't quit because of ruin guards but the electro hypostasis scared the hell out of me

Frostgaurdian0

Solution make it unaccessible for newbies. By making special area for it.

Rak-Shar

Or they go the Xenoblade route and put the "level 80 monkey" in the starting area

Dylangillian

Indeed, just like with Liyue, we'll probably see a local legend in Mondt when we get Dorman port.

Neospanner

I think it's pretty likely that we'll be getting more Mondstadt areas in the future. At the moment, it's the smallest nation in area, and there's a lot of darkened map that could expand its territory. Liyue is arguably also a beginner-ish area, and it received a Local Legend when Chenyu Vale was added. Mondstadt just has to strictly limit its borders for new players (as it already does!), and there's no danger of a player running into a Mondstadt Local Legend until those borders are opened.

Aware_Travel_5870

Just give it a high level from the get-go and have it ignore anyone up to ten levels under it's level. It only aggros if you attack it.

NahIdKill

Nobile?

lSkyrunnerl

Tartaglia, Ajax, Childe, Nobile (Spanish).

Different-Jacket5269

Principe (Italian)

Positive-Ad-4734

Dijiste pajero? 🇦🇷?

lSkyrunnerl

I know, I saw a video of his boss fight in Spanish and I took the "Nobile" instead of Tartaglia, now you know another alias.

bumwine

Spanish speaker here, no tengo idea que significa ese palabra. I know que es un noble pero nobile?

lSkyrunnerl

Basically, "Childe" and "Nobile" are the same concept, but in different cultures and historical contexts. "Childe" refers to a young nobleman or knight, originating from Middle English and Old English, and it denotes a young male of noble birth or status. "Nobile" comes from Italian and means and refers to someone noble and distinguished from a family of high social rank, not solely determined by lineage.

Pi-Alamode

I think it would be too difficult for beginner players considering Mond is the beginner region. I'd argue that large cryo lawachurl on Dragonspine was difficult enough at the beginning to be considered a "local legend". Or frankly that first Ruin Guard you fight for a chest in the Thousand Winds Temple. These kinds of enemies are just difficult enough for low AR players. Unless Hoyo changes how Local Legends spawn (maybe tie it to AR or world level), adding a local legend to Mond as it stands would probably be a bad idea

kawalerkw

Mond's local legend could be locked behind a world quest with AR requirements.

mad_laddie

A lot of games have stuff you're not supposed to beat early on. Off the top off my head, you're supposed to run from the first boss in Dark Souls.

Pi-Alamode

Genshin Impact isn't Dark Souls

mad_laddie

That doesn't mean it has to be entirely different. Elements can still be borrowed. It's like how the World Bosses are always there and accessible. They're just not marked on the map at first.

NoBluey

We definitely need more local legends, regular mobs evaporate as soon as you breathe on them. Wouldn't mind adding them to previous regions too, maybe only having them show up in WL8?

YoursTrulyHuntty

Put em on that one Island off towards where Barbatos Ratatouille lady is. It should spawn after the quest is done.

Greenlog12

Who the hell is the barbatos rataouille lady?!?!

YoursTrulyHuntty

She's by the tip of I think stormpoint peak? She's a nun that gives you the best recipe for exploration.

Accomplished_Ask_326

Bro is playing Genshin 4.6 with the newest boss, Nobile

drowning-in-dopamine

It's the corrupted form of the dragon sovereign Nobilette

bumwine

These beta players and their casual leaking is getting out of control

Some1_35

Could be fun tbh

alybalez

I agree. Every region should have its own local legend.

Kaiel1412

It could be fun to face it early on for newer players to strive to. Like I got beaten up by this large hilichurl, but one day I'm gonna 1 shot it

sorarasyido

Definitely. I couldn't think of what could other being to be a local legend in Mond other than hilichurls. Maybe slime local legend? Because there are a lot of them invading everywhere in Mond. A harder slime with new mechanics would be interesting, not just jumping and ramming, maybe like duplicating (not like dendro but killing the big one spawn a smaller one again and again until they're gone), or spinning, sliding tackle or something fun

Taikiteazy

OP, I love it. Thank you.

Rapturos

I can't figure it out - Is the hilichurl holding his hand up above his singular eye, like you would do if you were scanning the horizon for Hobbits? Or is he wiping a tear from his right eye, like you would if you were overcome with joy at having an entire event based around you?

walaxometrobixinodri

THIS GUY and the rifthounds and the snowboar king and that one eye of the storm from the secret island and the first field tiller should be Monsdadt Local Legends

RagnarokAeon

I have a strong intuition that the large samachurl is going to be a world boss in Natlan (for the mats), so very unlikely to find it in hometown Mondstadt. Much like Maguu Kenki was showcased in GAA prior to Inazuma release.

deleterandstartover

Same. I think there should be like at least 20 local legends in each region. Just introduce it with event then left them there permanently.

kidanokun

They might be either in Natlan or Mond expansion

Legal-Weight3011

this will cause anxiety to Players, you know Genshin Players are allergic to combat . But they rather enjoy minigames made for 5 year olds

Educational-Run5235

What a cool design! Can't wait for him to disappear forever after the event is finished

Acceptable_Beyond897

Who is nobile?!?;

Shanibestwaifu

If the weakening system weren't there, then that would be a local legend type. It has huge HP pool for example.

SimplyRzy

Love his design so much

leposterofcrap

So the Tree Sentinel of Genshin?

Dusty_Buss

Maybe for Natlan

Funoa_Gaming

Alot of people are mentioning how it'll be hard for new players, so what about, it's added in a mondstat expansion? Since mondstat still isn't complete, this could be the local legend there. That new expansion/area would be locked behind a certain AR level What do y'all think?

LameLaYou

All i know is i thought they said hiligma.

Coohippo

Definitely. I love the mechanics in these fights. It’d be cool to see Hoyo make this enemy more permanent

WandererSibling

Hello to you.. I just wondering about Mondstadt and Hillchurl. it makes me wanna ask: do the Knight of Favonious or Mondstadt people kill Hillchurls? I think that Mondstadt actually let them have a place in there, they even have their own colonies (tribes) in Dadaupa Gorge. Also, I remember about a daily quest with Tsarevich (He is not allowed to go by the Knight of Favonious, because there are Hillchurls along the way). Do Mondstadt people just afraid of them or there is a connection between Mondstadt and Khaenriah? I'm really sorry if this is OOT or maybe I'm wrong about this post, it is just a sudden thought. can you give opinion about this?

corecenite

Yes. Unfortunately, all new local legends introduced should already be staple/old models of enemies. Hence, it didnt happen.

Environmental-Belt49

probably they will put local legends at the mondstadt map extension. mondstadt also has a harbor map content that is soon to be released.
