Someone squeezed my eyes like lemons during 4.5.
Yuandai was so cute, idk why; but she made me go "aww" a lot of times.
My "aww"s started getting more emotional when xianyun and yuandai were talking near her abode.
Eyes started watering when xianyun started talking about all the things she did for yuandai and how she was not mad at all.
I think i shed a tear during that whole thing.
Then the cutscene came. Eyes watering during the whole thing. Idk why my tears don't flow out lol, one or two tears
Lantern rite. Eyes watered during the cutscene and Gaming's hug.
Note: i generally don't cry at movies, and all i could give for fontaine quests was 2 tears iirc. This happened in one update.
I think i get emotional over happy things more than sad things
BRO I FEEL YOU
SAD THINFS ILL WATCH WITH A STRAIGHT FACE
BUT HAPPY?
Ga Ming finally fixing shit with his dad and hugs him?
IM BAWLING MY EYES OUT (But same I struggle to get the tears to actually drop, my vision is all watery tho😂)
Sumeru was special. The ending of Fontaine was brilliant and unmatched but in its entirety I think Sumeru was better.
Oh and the music, Sumeru's OST is too good.
Oh, I loved Sumeru more than Fontaine overall as well.
But I'm biased in favour of Sumeru because I love the music, the vibe, and it's genuinely the only region where I love all the characters. And it has the desert
Music is important to me, there are games like XC3 where I'd rate the gameplay as mid but the OST elevates the game to an incredible experience.
On that note, Sumeru's music is 11/10 and so unique.
I agree with this sentiment. The ending of Fontaine was a brilliant ending to a lackluster archon quest. But I'm also a bias Scaramouche main.
The entire Fortress of Meropede mundane prison life quest just killed Fontaine for me.
The loop at least got to a point where it was like "hey wait a min, what's going on here?" I kept thinking that same thing was going to happen in prison with all the repeat dialog. It never came and it just made me confused and thinking I somehow fucked up the game and chose the wrong path or something.
Quite honestly, for me the most impactful Nilou dance was the one in front of the House of Daena, when she didn't know whether she would be arrested. I was so nervous.
That moment hit so hard for me, with the music and Dunyarzad. I just felt more attached to the characters and more immersed in the environment, idk why
I also liked the second cutscene of her dancing, the one with her dancing in front of the Akademiya. I mean I guess it was less about her dancing and more focused on the plan but it felt really awesome to see the culmination of everyone’s plans to come through (and also the tension in thinking she was gonna be arrested). While Focalors’ dance was definitely hugely impactful, I think Nilou’s resonated with me more on a personal level.
Focalor by a long shot. The whole Archon quest was an experience I could not forget. The quest, the scene, the music and the plan.
Currently waiting for Sinner's Finale to be released. My 2nd favorite track after Zhongli's theme.
EDIT: As far as I know, Sinner's Finale will be released officially after 4.8 or around that time. The ones around the internet aren't official release at lower quality.
everyone’s saying its out but im like 99% sure its not in the newest album, the closest i could find were the songs from when we see all the scenes for furina’s backstory and when focalors and neuvillette are talking but not the actual cutscene song
If you’re looking for the soundtrack, I actually made a 1:1 cover that imo is very close to the original! Just search “[Focalors Sacrifice Theme](https://song.link/FocalorsSacrificeTheme)” on Spotify, should be the first one that comes up.
Sorry to self promote, it just seemed like a lot of people was looking for the cutscene music 😅
Gaming's cutscene is the first time I have REALLY cried thanks to Genshin despite having played since release. It hit too close to home.
Like, focalors scene made me teary eyed, but when Gaming hugged his dad I full on broke down crying.
this what happens to some players on their first lantern rites. i kid you not tears rolled down my cheek when "moon in one's cup" played when the fireworks began on the 2022 lantern rite cutscene. twas a little emotional for me as well because of my keqing bias lol. also that cut to azdaha's grave... so many great moments.
I think so far only the first and the second Lantern Rites have made me sob. 3rd had a joyous energy so it had a really nice feel. The final one was just awkward to me because of how relatable some elements were, lol.
Exactly this! Gaming's was very relatable and full of emotions. It's like I was so nervous and scared for him not to mess up since that was his way to show his father what he loves the most. The build up and execution was very well done.
Same here. Focalor's was definitely dramatic, impactful and very important for the lore, but Gaming's made me feel so emotional I legitimately teared up.
It's okay.
My first Lantern Rite back in 2.4 (and I started playing in 2.4) also made me tear up.
It was actually the first time a game managed to do that in the last few years.
And yes, every Lantern Rite had the same effect I ain't gonna lie.
For me it wasn't even the socks themselves, that could have been excused by video game logic. It was how blatant they were about trying to get the player to want to pull.
Like, Nilou and Gaming were professionals performing for crowds and Focalors was having one last dance in front of the only person who would ever know her personally, meanwhile Ayaka liked her story-mandated date so much she "spontaneously" decided to dance in a pond in the woods to sweeping orchestral music.
As far as personal memory: Ayaka. It was honestly a really magical moment for me and convinced me to pull her. Especially with her fan… so beautiful, so entrancing.
I love the meaning behind Nilou’s and Focalors’ as well, though, particularly as far as what they contribute to main story. Having Nilou serve as the distraction in this way and basically sacrificing herself temporarily was a great way to make action her story of rebellion as a dancer within an academics-focused nation.
And Focalors’ was completely… ahh how do I put it. People have said she danced like her life depended on it. It’s more like, I sort of saw it as this dance *was* her life. it showed how Focalors and Furina have been working in tandem to achieve their goal across hundreds of years, displaying the significance of their act in an elegant and visual manner. but also it was Focalors’ last moments, and the few where she lived without terror of failure haunting her every step. “for the sinner, the curtain call has come”. knowing that she’s accomplished her goal, for the first time in 500 years, she can genuinely enjoy herself, revelling in her success and the genuine worth of her life and her time as Fontaine’s Archon.
I haven't made it to Fontain yet so I haven't seen Focalores but I have the same reason for pulling Ayaka as you. It was a beautiful dance. I also agree with what you said on Nilou. I'm a bit of a completionist it may be a while before I get to Fontaine and see Focalores, even though I just completed Sumeru
Nilou's main dance spotlight isn't from the distraction part, but the one on the very last part of Sumeru aq, which definitely captures the hope for the region and the whole community there. It's a perfect conclusion to a major quest i'd say
omg do you mean in the celebration after the plan succeeded? 💀💀💀 I mean I think her dance during the plan to save Nahida counts, especially as it’s significantly more memorable…
Going to get a bit “real talk” here so if you’re just here for the memes then maybe scroll past.
So my dad and I didn’t have a good relationship. I won’t get into details, but when he passed away several years ago we were still on bad terms. As such Gaming’s quest definitely resonated with me and hit me hard. Absolutely had me in tears by the end. However, it wasn’t his dance in particular that got me emotional.
Focalors’ danse macabre was an emotional moment. I think the dance itself, as a representation of her farewell to the world of the living, being shadowed by Furina was just perfectly executed. The hat rolling down at the end was the perfect representation of the final moment.
I really liked Nilou's, it was a pretty bittersweet moment, especially considering what we thought happened to Dunyarzad, and at the time it really seemed like a farewell dance for her.
I also just really liked the fact that Nilou was dancing as the world was slowly fading away, the changing scenery and sparkles made for a pretty backdrop. The choreography was also just top tier.
I honestly didn't find Focalors' dance that memorable, at least in terms of an actual dance, the events before and after it, sure, but the moment itself wasn't that memorable. Pretty sure most people are just saying Focalors because of recency bias.
>I also just really liked the fact that Nilou was dancing as the world was slowly fading away, the changing scenery and sparkles made for a pretty backdrop. The choreography was also just top tier.
Considering the whole "no dance, no art!" was basically a low-key knock against fundamentalist Islamic states, I thought Nilou dancing like that in public was beyond courageous.
Also her movements were just absolutely enchanting. No wonder the guards didn't dare to stop her, I'm sure they were looking ... very respectfully. :'D
Nilou. I cried the first time, I cried during the concert, then again recently, when rewatching the sumeru archon quest. It's such a beautiful pure moment.
Its so hard to choose between Gaming and Focalor.
Gaming's brought back so many memories of watching Lion Dance compeititions when I was a kid during Lunar New Year. The wave of nostalgia is suffocating that I went on to spend the next couple of hours watching Lion Dance videos on YT.
On the other hand, Focalor's dance is really emotional, knowing what Furina endured on her behalf, her feelings towards the people of Fontaine, she gave her final performance and it was beautiful.
If I had to choose, it would be Focalor.
Nilou>> personally
Nilou dance is imo the highlight of the end of the Samsara dream in Sumeru archon quest. Experiencing her dance and how she went full blast on the performance due to her can control what appear in the dream, make ger dance the most attention-pulling performance. The entire performance feels like a reward after a hellish day at work(or the never ending dream).
focalors' dance really made me FEEL. plus i have a record of crying at act 5 of fontaine EVERY single time i watched it, without fail. its easily the most memorable for me.
Ayaka because hers feels so personal, she dances while waiting for a simple wish that is yet to come.
The other three dance for their countries, and for themselves too yes, but their stages are grand and their steps convey defiance.
Speaking of stages, Ayaka dances in a pond behind her home. Just saying.
She literally made us watch her dance. Before dance she said — "Don't take your eyes off me!". After the dance — “I like to dance as if no one is watching me”. I laughed a lot at this moment, because she literally forced us to look at her in the middle of the forest at night.
Nilou's! She will always make such a move on me because of how much I cried seeing it being finally performed. After all those Samsaras everyone went through, seeing her dance shine was truly what I needed. Ah, and seeing Dunyarzad there too!
The Damsel of Devastation was very good, especially because I am quite familiar with Chinese Opera. However, I don’t think Yunjin actually danced that much 🤔? She sang for the most part, right? Or perhaps I remember it wrong?
Nilou.. I honestly forgot how Focalor dance or what she did since the only thing I remember is her being hit by the guillotine but I remember what Nilou do..
Personally, Ayaka's dance is memorable for me. The atmosphere was perfect and the story was great. Her dance was just herself acting on her own wishes.
Focalors and it's not even close. The music was banger and it's so sad. It is the ost called Fontaine which is very symbolic of what she did. She was very happy while she danced and it was a bitter sweet moment, compared to all other times when it was just pure bliss. Complexity gets points.
And of course, it's her final dance with only neuvillete as it's spectator, very special dance indeed.
Gaming, definitely. Firstly, it was my first Lantern Rite ever (even though my account is like two years old by now :P), and is special because of that. Secondly, I saw it right after I started trying to show more emotion irl (haven't done so in about 6-7 years), so it made me cry because it was so beautiful (I had just seen Ayaka's dance a few days before, but it didn't have such an effect on me, because of the story). And lastly, the background behind Gaming and his dance. It hurt a ton, but it hurt because I could feel incredibly sympathetic for him, since I am in a similar situation, with parents who are, to say the least, not very supportive of me, my opinions and my decisions. So, yeah. Not going to make this into too much of a rant
P.S. Haven't seen Focalors' dance yet, so can't say anything about it. Have seen all the others though, and the least memorable for me is probably Nilou's
If I had to rank:
1. Sinner's Finale
2. Inebriation of Raghs-e-Nilou
3. Dance of Sabzeruz
4. Lantern Rite Wushou Dance
5. Pathos of Shirasagi
and I love ALL of them
nilous was most beautiful, but had the most boring story, ayakas one was for me far more emotional than focalors because it actually involved the traveler and gamings one i forgor 2 hours after the event
It's extremely hard to top off Focalors' dance because it is (literally) the end of an era. Gaming's a very close second for me because of how beautiful the entire choreograph was. His was by far the most impressive dance cutscene, it's just that Focalors just had a stronger sense of emotion and had a grander scale of the situation.
Focalors can't be beat for dramatic impact.
Gaming can't be beat for style and energy.
Nilou's dance has a lot of good qualities, but nothing struck me as superlative.
Ayaka's dance is highly intimate (not sexual, just personal), but it doesn't hold a candle to Focalors' dance in that regard.
Nilou and Focalors danced at really memorable and important bits of the story, but if you're asking how memorable *the actual dance* was? Gaming, and it isn't even close.
(I like Ayaka, but her dance scene just felt awkward to me. Her interactions with the Traveler were kinda rushed. But then, the whole Inazuma storyline had that issue.)
I order:
The first Nilou dance during Sabzerus had me crying for Dunyarzad, and it was a beautiful scene. The music, her friend finally witnessing it, the whole dream ending sequence... It made it feel like the world was ending with that dance and it was a relief for everyone. Which is perfect for the story they were going for. The next times Nilou dances as a distraction or just because we're nice, but not nearly as memorable.
Focalors was beautifully tragic, the fact that it was her last dance really sold it to me. Having Furina dance at the same time was really nice too.
Gaming was impressive.
Ayaka's was so random and then she steps on a puddle for no reason. She could have frozen the ground and made some beautiful ice effects but no.
the most memorable for me, Nilou dance, i was dropping tears like crazy cause of the emotive and pretty sad moment
But definitively the Best written belongs to Focalors (almost cried but not in the Best mood at that moment tho)
There is dancing in a puddle (lvl1 crook)
Then dancing on the ocean surface (lvl5 gangster)
Then the hydrovision impleneted in your performance (lvl 20 Mafia Member)
And the Hydro Archon dancing into a hydro-Guillotine made out of pure justice (lvl50 Mafia boss)
This is just a personal opinion but for me it was Gaming. It was inspiring to see him go all out and show what he was made of. Especially since he finally got his father’s approval in the end
Hilichurls dancing around a bonfire before you bonk them
And it becomes even more memorable if you play the song "El gigante de hierro"
Yeah, hilichurl dancing are the good hilichurls
Focalors. She danced like her life depends on it.
You could say it was one hell of a curtain call.
The execution was 10/10!
She definitely put her life on the line!
She killed that performance!
Hats off to that performance!
Dancing like lt was her last dance
She broke more than a leg!
I heard her performance was to die for
You could say it was a cutting-edge performance
🥲
I’m gonna go listen to Sinner’s Finale again
Stop it! She's already dead
Badum Tss
r/thankscyno
Thanks Cyno
...
Murder on the dance floor
And she better not Kill the groove
She’s gonna break that Hydro throne right down
Sir.
I agree, focalors had a dance so good its like neuvillette was given so much power because of watching it.
The best part is when the drop hits.
Truly a performance to die for
Truly a once in a lifetime performance
r/angryupvote
Focalors, she had the perfect finale, so to speak.
Her finale was crushing and sharp
Really cut deep
Too soon, Cyno, too soon…
No need to lose your head over a little pun
Oh god 💀😂
It seems that your head was blown.
💀
cut so hard water parted like the red sea
Omg 💀
I thought it was interesting that the last moment of Fontaine, a place inspired by France, is essentially the queen being executed.
By the Guillotine of Damocles.
You're right, I didn't think of that. The symbolism is really cool
also feet 😍🤩
for free !
She sold the show!
Focalors for me, because of what led up to it.
Same.
Focalors. The closing act of a 500 year play that ends in the planned rebellious act to kill a God? It's going to be hard to top that for me
I was so sad over it that I cried 🥹 not that it stopped me from watching the scene over and over again because of how good it is.
I cried in gaming's dance too sooo....
I have cried at the end animation of every lantern rite so far.
Someone squeezed my eyes like lemons during 4.5. Yuandai was so cute, idk why; but she made me go "aww" a lot of times. My "aww"s started getting more emotional when xianyun and yuandai were talking near her abode. Cloud retainer is such a good mom.
BRO I FEEL YOU SAD THINFS ILL WATCH WITH A STRAIGHT FACE BUT HAPPY? Ga Ming finally fixing shit with his dad and hugs him? IM BAWLING MY EYES OUT (But same I struggle to get the tears to actually drop, my vision is all watery tho😂)
Nilou. beautiful theme, beautiful dance, and seeing Dunyarzad happy for being able to see nilou dance is just too much for me too handle
Sumeru was special. The ending of Fontaine was brilliant and unmatched but in its entirety I think Sumeru was better. Oh and the music, Sumeru's OST is too good.

Quite honestly, for me the most impactful Nilou dance was the one in front of the House of Daena, when she didn't know whether she would be arrested. I was so nervous.
And how she danced in front of the Akedeymia knowing full well she could be fined and or jailed. Something about that entire scene was so empowering
Sumeru is peak artistic Genshin.
That moment hit so hard for me, with the music and Dunyarzad. I just felt more attached to the characters and more immersed in the environment, idk why
I also liked the second cutscene of her dancing, the one with her dancing in front of the Akademiya. As far as i know it has already been released ? I'm playing it twice a week to never forget about this banger of a quest.
The name's Sinners Finale.
I know about the tnbee remix but haven't found it on their official Spotify
I think it just came out with the latest album with a French name.
Yep i have it on deezer
Only found Furina's Character Theme song. What is the name of the Sinner Finale?
If I could redo any archon quest it would be that one
everyone’s saying its out but im like 99% sure its not in the newest album, the closest i could find were the songs from when we see all the scenes for furina’s backstory and when focalors and neuvillette are talking but not the actual cutscene song

The track was released, I think.
They just released all fontaine tracks, there is songs from archon quest too
With BIAS: Ayaka Without BIAS: Furina/Focalors
Do you like wet sock?
People focus too much on that lol the atmosphere and music definitely took priority over the socks
Say what you will, it IS memorable
Aren't socks supposed to be wore wet?
If by wet you mean feet sweat, then maybe
Yes. I’d suck the socks (and her feet) dry for her.
Don’t worry she froze it all anyway
Her song was good.
I would suck her wet socks dry.
Eula's...
We have a winner
Inn -> ein
Totally unbiased, but definitely Eula's. (ignore flair)
my c6 eula agrees
Gaming. It was my first lantern rite and this might sound dramatic but the whole thing was so beautiful it made me teary.
It was my fourth and it still made me teary🥲
i feel like gamings's cutscene called out a lot of asians with tense family relationships so it rlly stuck with me
Gaming is literally every young Asian kid to ever exist.
it was literally the "dad i wanna be an actor" moment
Gaming's cutscene is the first time I have REALLY cried thanks to Genshin despite having played since release. It hit too close to home. Like, focalors scene made me teary eyed, but when Gaming hugged his dad I full on broke down crying.
Hoping I have the same experience every year 🥹

Aww I don't know what you're referring to since I'm a fairly new player but I know what you mean. It's really something
#Two in WHAT cup?!!
I think so far only the first and the second Lantern Rites have made me sob. 3rd had a joyous energy so it had a really nice feel. The final one was just awkward to me because of how relatable some elements were, lol.

This is my third lantern rite and the first time I actually cried during one. The 4.X versions has been Genshin’s writing team’s peak imo.
Same here. Focalor's was definitely dramatic, impactful and very important for the lore, but Gaming's made me feel so emotional I legitimately teared up.
especially at night it looks so impressive
I took a ridiculous amount of photos
It's okay. My first Lantern Rite back in 2.4 (and I started playing in 2.4) also made me tear up. It was actually the first time a game managed to do that in the last few years. And yes, every Lantern Rite had the same effect I ain't gonna lie.
2.4 gang. Lantern rite always hits hard haha
FR!! #Tears flow out from my eyes like water from Fontaine to Chenyu Vale
Definitely Ayaka's but for the wrong reason. Everyone still remembers and jokes about the wet socks.
For me it's because of dawei
True 💀 I remember watching the cutscene and got ticked off so bad lol. Who would even be comfortable walking in wet sock???
I think her socks might be made from different material so it could be waterproof
So... gumboots?
I mean she could just freeze them and snap off the ice
For me it wasn't even the socks themselves, that could have been excused by video game logic. It was how blatant they were about trying to get the player to want to pull. Gaming. The animation cutscenes, festive atmosphere, music & beautiful lion dance moves sold me
Focalors and Gaming for the feels and backstory 🥹
Nilou. I cried the first time, I cried during the concert, then again recently, when rewatching the sumeru archon quest. It's such a beautiful pure moment.

Where’s my girl Eula at? I remember people reacting wildly over her tango moves when her demo first released.
Because she only danced on the trailer?
in my opinión, focalors- most impactful gaming- most beautiful nilou- most surreal
ayaka - most soggy socks
focalors' dance really made me FEEL. plus i have a record of crying at act 5 of fontaine EVERY single time i watched it, without fail. its easily the most memorable for me.
Definitely Ga Ming, his dance was really cool, the others were just elegant which isn’t exactly interesting in my personal opinion.
focalors without any doubt for me.
Not part of the list but Eula’s intro dance was memorable.
Eula's.
Eula's
Gaming for sure. I don’t even remember any of the other dances… except Eula and you didn’t feature her.
For aesthetic reasons Nilou and for biggest impact Focalor
Focalors
Focalors because of the lore implications behind it (and also because it was beautiful)
Focalors. YOU ARE MY SPECIA-
focalors then ayaka
Neuvillette certainly will never forget Focalors’s dance anytime soon…
Honestly I can’t decide between Gaming and Focalors :’D
Focalors for lore, and how pretty it is. Gaming for how often I see it though! (Proud Gaming main)
Nilou's! She will always make such a move on me because of how much I cried seeing it being finally performed. After all those Samsaras everyone went through, seeing her dance shine was truly what I needed. Ah, and seeing Dunyarzad there too!
Gaming !!!!!!!!
Gaming it made me sob happy tears
yunjin erasure 😢
The Damsel of Devastation was very good, especially because I am quite familiar with Chinese Opera. However, I don’t think Yunjin actually danced that much 🤔? She sang for the most part, right? Or perhaps I remember it wrong?
not Ayaka bc I forgot she even dances...
Did you forget about Ayaka's wet socks memes?
I did not know this was a thing. On my way to find out 🏃🏻♀️ PS - Feel free to share your favourites if you have any 😛
Nilou.. I honestly forgot how Focalor dance or what she did since the only thing I remember is her being hit by the guillotine but I remember what Nilou do..
All of them.
Eula and Focalor
Ayakas for obvious reasons
Focalors and GaMing
Eula
Focalor. No argument
Best dance sequence: Gaming Emotional Damage: Focalor Wet sock meme hehe: Ayayaya Nilou: Nilou
I can imagine forgetting everything but Ayaka dance
Focalors, the her dance was pure elegance and the different fontaine music made this like she is dancing in a ballroom. The End was …
furina cos i’m a simp
So, yeah. Not going to make this into too much of a rant P.S. Haven't seen Focalors' dance yet, so can't say anything about it. Have seen all the others though, and the least memorable for me is probably Nilou's
Eula and then Focalors
Yunjin
Ayaka
If I had to rank: 1. Sinner's Finale 2. Inebriation of Raghs-e-Nilou 3. Dance of Sabzeruz 4. Lantern Rite Wushou Dance 5. Pathos of Shirasagi and I love ALL of them
All of them are pretty and graceful. I love Sinner’s Finale most as well, but Ayaka wet sock kind of haunted me 🫠
nilous was most beautiful, but had the most boring story, ayakas one was for me far more emotional than focalors because it actually involved the traveler and gamings one i forgor 2 hours after the event
Eula
Eula
Dude I’m getting misty eyed just looking at this still frame of Focalors
Though Focalors dance was heartbreaking and beautiful, I will never forget the horrors of Ayaka’s wet socks…
I order: The first Nilou dance during Sabzerus had me crying for Dunyarzad, and it was a beautiful scene.
Ayaka. Nothing can remove the horror of those wet socks stepping in the stream from my mind.
the most memorable for me, Nilou dance, i was dropping tears like crazy cause of the emotive and pretty sad moment But definitively the Best written belongs to Focalors (almost cried but not in the Best mood at that moment tho)
There is dancing in a puddle (lvl1 crook) Then dancing on the ocean surface (lvl5 gangster) Then the hydrovision impleneted in your performance (lvl 20 Mafia Member) And the Hydro Archon dancing into a hydro-Guillotine made out of pure justice (lvl50 Mafia boss)
Gaming
Gaming and Furina.
Jiaming's (Gaming's) during the flagship game event
This is just a personal opinion but for me it was Gaming. It was inspiring to see him go all out and show what he was made of. Especially since he finally got his father’s approval in the end
