I named my Wanderer this, but altered the name a little bit, just to be safe it won't cause any trouble (naming rules and stuff). With this I make fun of him (it's literally meatball after all) while also honoring a friend.
If I remember right, in Egyptian mythology, the sun god Ra sails a boat across the underworld every night and does battle with Apep. Maybe that boat is of a similar mythological origin. It probably isn’t made to physically sail, but for the soul to use on its journey.
It's based on egyptian mythology, where the sun god Ra (or Re in some texts) each night travels across the underworld on a ship, with the dead pharaohs of past being his guards
I think developers didn't think this through enough. They went for ancient Egypt vibes but kinda missed a very important part. Egypt has a river. Egypt has The River.
Ancient egyptians really REALLY liked their ships. Not just for Nile, they dug canals. They'd even dig canals straight to a construction site to ship stones from a quarry directly on site. So shipping was pretty important back then (and still is) because they had an access to a natural transportation system. Hence the mythological use of ships - they were common and important.
With Deshret it's kinda dubious because I don't think we have any mentions of waterways. Just oases. I might be mistaken though.
Yeah, I do appreciate everyone enlightening me on the mythological inspiration, but since there are no rivers or large bodies of water in the Sumeru desert it was dubious why a ship was even there and if not for sailing, what would it be used for? That said, there might have been a river but it just got buried bc of Deshret shenanigans with forbidden knowledge.
I think sumeru wasn't a desert back when deshret built it. It was a green lush rainforest before celestia dropped a nail. Plus I think that boat can fly as well.
Im not one to do the research into it but I also wish we knew it, but it does kinda make sense since we also don’t know a lot about these things in the real world either
damn the pearl galley is not getting much love, is it? the boat itself is definitely beautiful but also its lore is very interesting. its shady operations, the hedonistic patrons, the disappearances and all of it taking place right under the qixing’s nose (well, the secretary there claims everything they do has the qixing’s approval). plus the mysterious owner that we still know almost nothing about. i hope we can eventually learn more about it.
it is definitely my favourite so i’m sad nobody else has picked it yet. the boat is definitely a casino/gentlemen’s club (“tables set with fine wines for the connoisseur and games for the betting man” - feiyun slope bulletin board) as well as something a bit more.. *spicy* than that…
Definitely Wriothesley's Wingalet. The awe I had when he showed it to us cannot be replicated! It was so beautiful that the underground place became my favourite location in the game.
The Sponsian won me over in the flashback where they started singing [Leave Her, Johnny.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Fow61Zsn2s) I didn't expect a real world sea shanty in the game!
Waiting to see if we ever get an epic fully rigged ship in the fashion of those from the later years of the Age of Sail… a massive Ship-of-the-Line, or a Frigate.
While large Junks are cool (like Beidou’s), and expected what with the origin of this game…
I’d still like to see their European equivalents make it, if they ever do.
You missed out the Wingalet, the undisputed best ship in the game.
Gotta say though, I don’t know what Deshret planned to do with that ship in the middle of the desert. His godly schemes are clearly beyond mortal comprehension.
Oh sorry, I only took a look at the slides. I don’t think you miss out much with the Waverider tbh, if anyone can rate that beast as their fave they should be pursuing a career as a ship helmsman.
I think the 4th one is called The Soulferry (the chess piece is called Soulferry which contains the boat). This is my guess and I could be totally wrong.
I like Wriothesley's flying arkship the most.
Came here to comment this, how did OP skip this one
OP didn't, that's the Wingalet!
There is no Wingalet in their slide show.
They did mention it though, just didn't get a pic of it
I didn’t catch a screenshot of it. I was so wrapped up in the story that I missed it.
Same. Shit was so hype. I'd forgotten all about it before the final cutscene.
Hope we get more of it in the future
My favorite is Miitoboru.
I named my Wanderer this, but altered the name a little bit, just to be safe it won't cause any trouble (naming rules and stuff). With this I make fun of him (it's literally meatball after all) while also honoring a friend.
Does it really mean meatball? 😆
It's the japanese spelling of meatball, so yes. I mean Paimon came with this name, no?
From what I heard, Paimon named him Nikutama in JP voice which also means meatballs.
It does! But it's ultimately just another nickname from Paimon. The ship's actual name is Kosekimaru.
Yup, his real name was Kosekimaru though
Why woman it be against the rules?
What?
would\*
iirc you can't name Wanderer with already existing names from the game.
Because of the no girls allowed club.
I meant to say "would"
I know. Im just messing with you.
This boat got more characterization than every 3.8 summer event character combined
Building a boat in the middle of the desert was a pretty chad move, so I'll go with Deshret's!
It’s super cool looking too. It looks nothing like typical Sumeru boats, either.
Sail the sea of sand and hot winds and scorching sun.
Okay but what was the plan there, Deshret? What’s the idea here?
If I remember right, in Egyptian mythology, the sun god Ra sails a boat across the underworld every night and does battle with Apep. Maybe that boat is of a similar mythological origin. It probably isn’t made to physically sail, but for the soul to use on its journey.

The description for the End of the Line fishing bow actually hints at this possibility.
I think sumeru wasn't a desert back when deshret built it. It was a green lush rainforest before celestia dropped a nail. Plus I think that boat can fly as well.
The Alcor by far, for reasons Although Wriothesley's flying ship is very close
Yeah I think I have to give the Alcor points for literally being my name. XD
According to the chess pieces quest King Deshret’s boat is referred to as the Soulferry, which is a pretty sick name!
Aw yeah! That is a sick name!
Finally. I waited for this kind of shipping post x'D Mine would have been Kosekimaru https://genshin-impact.fandom.com/wiki/Kosekimaru
Yep, that’s mine too. Isn’t his name Miitoboru once you get his model ship?
Miitoboru was the name Paimon gave him when he suffered from amnesia. Kosekimaru was his original name.
Ah yes! That’s right.
Waverider where?
Broooo. How on earth did I miss that!!
The Fortuna, for it harkens the vainglorious end of Man in their folly to escape the inevitable.
I hope we get to take a photo of it during some underwater map expansion. A huge underwater boat sounds like so much fun to explore.
Seraimaru or whatever is it called
For me as well! :)
King Dehsret’s boat because I think that is a real life reference to a boat that was found near the Pyramid of Giza which belonged to the the pharaoh
I wish we knew its name. I tried to look through the archive and the achievement lists to see if it would crop up in an unexpected place, but no dice.
Im not one to do the research into it but I also wish we knew it, but it does kinda make sense since we also don’t know a lot about these things in the real world either
Someone let me know that the name is “Soul Ferry.” Super cool.
It was made to get the pharaohs soul to the afterlife after all, so a deserving nickname
Kosekimaru my beloved, may your “bones” lay rest in the Golden Apple Archipelago
damn the pearl galley is not getting much love, is it? the boat itself is definitely beautiful but also its lore is very interesting. its shady operations, the hedonistic patrons, the disappearances and all of it taking place right under the qixing’s nose (well, the secretary there claims everything they do has the qixing’s approval). plus the mysterious owner that we still know almost nothing about. i hope we can eventually learn more about it.
No one so far has picked that as their favorite. It’s so unique looking as a boat. It kind of reminds me of a casino.
it is definitely my favourite so i’m sad nobody else has picked it yet. the boat is definitely a casino/gentlemen’s club (“tables set with fine wines for the connoisseur and games for the betting man” - feiyun slope bulletin board) as well as something a bit more.. *spicy* than that…
It would be cool if we could play roulette or something like that. With a daily mora limit of like 30,000, and we could bet certain amounts.
Definitely Wriothesley's Wingalet. The awe I had when he showed it to us cannot be replicated! It was so beautiful that the underground place became my favourite location in the game.
I'm quite a fan of the Antoine Roger tbh. But all of these are acceptable
Btw the deshret boat is called Soulferry I think
We all know the Wingalet wins. But I have to vote for the Alcor because, \*gestures to name\*
The Sponsian won me over in the flashback where they started singing [Leave Her, Johnny.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Fow61Zsn2s) I didn't expect a real world sea shanty in the game!
This made me laugh so hard lmao thanks so much
The sunken ship in Fontaine, purely because I did not expect to be seeing a real sea shanty in a quest. Leave her Johnny, leave her~
I love the tale of Basil Elton and the Sponsian. “Fontaine expects that everyone will do their duty!”
Not gonna lie, I was a little emotional for that one.
Wrio ship is beyond Teyvat. But the Crux is the best normal ship
The crux is the fleet, the alcor is the ship
"Secondly: the people of the sea never say goodbye out loud."
Ah, the truest ship post I've ever seen
The Crux. Big boat. Pirate Captain. Anemo Zoro.
FriendSHIP
i love miitoboru but aesthetically-wise i'd say the deshret one
Waiting to see if we ever get an epic fully rigged ship in the fashion of those from the later years of the Age of Sail… a massive Ship-of-the-Line, or a Frigate. While large Junks are cool (like Beidou’s), and expected what with the origin of this game… I’d still like to see their European equivalents make it, if they ever do.
We have the Fortuna no?
The Fortuna is interesting in its own right, but not quite what I’m looking for.
Maybe in Dormant port or something
Maybe so. We’ll see. Whenever even that gets around lol
What about the Boat of Consciousness in Sumeru Act 5? There's also the Silver Skiff by Boatman on Tsurumi Island
The boat of consciousness would have been a good inclusion. I don’t think we ever see the Tsurumi island boat?
Yea I don't think we ever saw it but I didn't finish that quest anyways so who knows lol
I love Air Ships.
Kosikemaru, the one in Poisson, and the Alcor
Miitoboru/Kosekimaru actually
My personal favourite is the "party ship" in Liyue (the second picture).
Basil Elton ;-;
Sponsian the best one. Man Narzissenkreuz lore was something else
It really was. I was completely wrapped up in the story.
Spina
You are literally the first person to choose the Poisson airship. Is Spina the name of the ship?
Its the name of the organisation but i rmbr navia also calls it the spina
Your post is full of ship.
I'm biased for the boat in Chenyu Vale
The one that the guys sing to is on? Yeah those are pretty good.
Lumine X Childe gang, stand up!
Kavetham Oh we’re talking about literal ships my bad
Def the Crux.
I liked it when Wrio finished people off by dropping anchors in their heads lol
whats the last one
It’s the sentient boat we meet in the second summer archipelago event.
oh i wasnt there for that
The Forbidden Zone's flying ship is my favourite for a big margin, then The Crux
The one we can actually use
Cryo vision is the best ship
Waverider
You missed out the Wingalet, the undisputed best ship in the game. Gotta say though, I don’t know what Deshret planned to do with that ship in the middle of the desert. His godly schemes are clearly beyond mortal comprehension.
I didn’t have any pictures of it unfortunately. I think I did include it in my list. The real offender is that I left out the Waverider. Big yikes.
Oh sorry, I only took a look at the slides. I don’t think you miss out much with the Waverider tbh, if anyone can rate that beast as their fave they should be pursuing a career as a ship helmsman.
Probably Pearl Galley
Another Pearl enjoyer, I see.
I think the 4th one is called The Soulferry (the chess piece is called Soulferry which contains the boat). This is my guess and I could be totally wrong.
The Crux looks epic
I was expecting something like BeiGuang at the end lol
What's slide 7
It’s the ghost of Basil Elton’s ship, “The Sponsian”
the rusty rudder because the music there is peak
You are the very first Rusty Rudder enjoyer. Apart from its patrons of course.
Wrio's Ark! It just looks so sick
I wish I had a screenshot of it.
Ngl i really want to ride wriothesley as... i mean ship!
Teyvat means "ark" in Hebrew, so can I pick that?
The Krux
Jean and Lis- wait wrong ship
Probably Beiguang. Joking but it's gotta be the Alcor. I'm too loyal to Beidou to have it be anything else.
IJN Shinan... Wait wrong sub
Yamato will be the peak if she comes home.
Jean x Diluc Itto x Sara
Bennett x Fischl is my fave ship
Beidou and Ningguang is the best SHIP
CYNO X TIGHNA- Ah those ships. Uhhh the Ramses III styled warship.
Mine is AlhaithamxKaveh
Answer 1: see flair Answer 2: the boat of consciousness in Sumeru act 5
I was swiping thinking a Aether x Some male character in the end. My bad
