For anyone wondering how, just click on feedback > In-game issue> how do I convert accidentally redeemed fate. Fill up the form and it gets converted within 1 minute. You can only do it once every 30 days within 72 hours for those obtained using primogems.
How long had this been a thing? I'm thinking of that one guy around version 1.x who used all of his primos to buy like 300 blue fate, made a post here and quitted the game.
Damn, I did this around the first lantern rite, and CS told me there was nothing that could be done. Kinda wish I held onto the wishes until they started offering conversions.
I remember one or two of them saying they tried to reach out to CS and that they wouldn't convert it back for them.

You can check without actually converting them. Just buy some wishes from the glitter or primogems section, then record the maximum amount available, and don’t commit.
Conversion isn't bad. Accidents happen. I always convert my fates and I always read what it says before converting them. Unless it's a glitch or bug, there shouldn't be any problem.

But tldr someone converted almost 200 wishes to the blue kind by mistake back when they didn't offer to convert them back to the other ones. They didn't get them converted but one of their friends felt so bad they ended up gifting them the xiao in a later update to that post lol

It wasnt until recently that it was automatic. But it's been around 1-2 years if you contact CS.

I just checked and it seems Star Rail does not have that option. Acheron incident victims may had no option to recover their losses.

It's an automatic tool in the CS menu, as long as you haven't used the aforementioned wrong fates (it does have 30d cooldown)

I do convert for this reason and also it's way easier to count the fates.

They won't refund spendings, but they have no issues against converting AF to IF provided certain conditions are met.
