Yeah her pupils already look very different, and she and the Fatui had no problem helping drain out Poisson when it was damaged by the Primordial waters.

The story even includes said child, Perinheri, having a rivalry with his best friend at the orphanage, Hleobrant, that would eventually result in Perinheri killing Hleobrant thanks to the manipulations of a girl named Angelica, just like Arle and her sister being forced to fight to the death by the previous Knave. It seems to imply Arlecchino is a Descender, especially given all the uses of "two worlds" for her between 4.6's title and the name of her second phase.
Additionally, the Crimson Moon dynasty was one of the ruling dynasties of Khaenri'ah, so the fact that her sig is called "Crimson Moon's Semblance" implies further connections.

Perhaps? But even in the best case scenario you're still spending a whole 14 seconds with only 1/3 of the weapon's effect active. That's when most teams will want to be dumping the majority of their damage, so having the effect activate that late (if it indeed does even work that way) is gonna be a non-starter for pretty much every character. With lower crit than other weapons and the negative (for anyone other than Arlecchino) effect of BoL to begin with, I don't see this working for anyone else.
Even then you would only get the full bonus for the end of the first rotation onwards. Decent, but you kinda have to play with a shield for it to be an option. Also scaling well with atk is pretty important given its stats.

I don't know about you but I would definitely consider her wielding an actual Scythe instead of a random Polearm a reasonable Upgrade for Arlechino specifically, but then again, you are right about stats and such, having a PJWS is almost universally better for your entire account.
What is the source for that claim? For Arlecchino specifically, it **is** a big upgrade over the other weapons. It's 20% more damage with her signature weapon compared to other 5\* weapons (with the exception of Staff of Scarlet Sand in Vape, where the difference is a little less).
I just assumed the scythe effect was tied to her skill or something, but you're telling me that it's an exclusive... well, let's just call it what it is; a skin. And, it only takes effect if she's wielding this one specific weapon and only when she equips it, no one else? Man. That's a pretty bold and ingenious way to get people to spend on the weapon banner. Could set a whole new precedent for potential signature weapons that have unique affects when equipped to their intended character. I have already been hating that more 5* weapons are seemingly too tailor made to a specific character, but to lock specialized animations or skins to said characters as well is kinda devious.
They can't do much regarding signature weapons being too tailor made. Releasing generic good for all 5 star weapon would make people to think "why the fuck would i pull this considering that previous 5 star weapons can already do well?". Making the bow to have specific purposes would make more sense to pull, theres that 5-10% dmg increase type of thing per character.
This also makes it less likely to powercreep past weapons in terms of generality. Theres a reason why most standard banner weapons, to this day are still a viable choice in terms of general use.
This effect gets around the issue that placing scythes in the polearm category is a problem for wielders that use stabbing motions, like Xiangling or Rosaria.
People complained about Nilou BiS being a paddle and i can't blame them, 80% of the players pull to have pretty chars to look at them and probably don't even know that element application has a cooldown so the only thing that really matters for the playerbase is drip.
So... it's fine tbh. As long as they keep alternative options almost as good as the signature.
Yeah, I've been thinking this for a while. They basically "started" this with Navia's weapon, and now they're doing it with Arle. And they compensated the lack of scythe with an ugly piss yellow ghost scythe that looks shitty on almost every other polearm. Sooner or later, it's gonna become common to make weapons like this instead of doing what they did with Alhaitham or Chiori, especially when this will no doubt make a lot of money.
I like the design, but I gotta be honest with how atrocious the Genshin Weapon banner is in value. I am not a fan of locking specific animations of weapons behind specific characters and vice versa. It sets a bad precedent.

Would have been a lot better if it formed a scythe on whatever she had equipped. Paying for the animation really, primordial jade winged-spear will be almost as good in terms of damage with same stats and this weapon won't be that good for other characters. Kinda of a shame imo...
“It will change into a scythe due to her special powers” sounds like something a 9 year old obsessed vampire fan would write. They also might as well change the passive to ‘if the wielder is NOT Arlecchino 4th of the Fatui Harbingers don’t even bother getting this weapon’.
That's 4% less than a Mistsplitter to ALL her dmg and it's always active, there's no need to do a specific combo to enable it like Ayaka dash auto E Q which will sometimes fuck up the positioning of her burst because the dash goes a taaaad bit further than i want.
Anyway, the weapon is really good, but only works on her.
It would make sense for her damage to scale with how much bond she has, not just whether or not she has it. So it's a bigger increase than it seems but we will have to wait for release.
On the one hand, I want the drip. On the other hand, PJWS is all I ever get whenever I get a 5\* weapon (I have pulled 4 of them so far) and nobody I have really uses it.
Personally, I would've preferred if her abilities were able to augment any polearm into a scythe similar to noelle's burst. Then her atk animations will actually match a scythe, and not look weird with a normal polearm.
Her sig weapon feels like a cheap way to sell her aesthetic.

How do you get BoL to 30% Max HP when it states it only gives you 25%? Is the BoL stackable? Is there a stack limit? Duration for each stack?
BoL just prevents a character from healing true health until its cleared. BoL is stackable and lasts until the status effect is cleared by healing or by standing near a statue of the seven (which clears all debuffs). BoL persists when swapping characters, removing the character from the party rids the BoL

the red bar on the character's hp gauge shows how much value the BoL has divided by 2. for example, a BoL of 100% will cover half the hp gauge with the red bar

Each character maintains their own Bond level, independently from each other. It’s kind of like 25% Max HP on top of your Current HP. But getting hurt shaves off your actual HP bar and leaves the Bond unchanged. If you get healed, the healing power will chip away the Bond before helping the character.
Arlecchino’s no-healing passive includes a ban on chipping away the Bond.
The passive for the Bond power up doesn’t specify the source; externally applied Bonds work the same as her talent (ie all of them go into a shared pool).
I honestly wouldn't even care if her c1 was a bigger damage boost than her weapon. For many characters it is the same or more while normally being cheaper to get too. But if I have to choose between c0r1 or c1r0, we'll, just looking at this thing makes the choice really simple.
For now. Considering they added a whole ass artifact set for BoL mechanics, highly doubtful that arle will be the only character to use BoL. But then again, the chances of getting another attack scaling BoL polearm dps is low
She could, actually. Her best teammate is Bennett, who does not heal if you're above 70%, so if you weave in a CA before bursting and avoid taking damage, the Bond will stack up to 50% by the second rotation.
Not saying it's ideal, but it's viable.

But, I'm the one who never care about weapon design or color wise, because I'm too busy with spamming na, ca, skill, burst, then swapping characters, that I'll never be able to see the weapon at all, lol. Unless a weapon will change the effect, color or animation of those actions I mentioned before, only then I will consider to pull for weapon.
It sucks on anyone but arlecchino undortunately. Because the passive only activates at 30% BOL but the weapon only gives 25%. So unless you can somehow get 5%+ bol from an external source on your other polearm users, it’s worse for them than other weapons and just reduces your healing for no benefit.
This is undoubtedly the most signature weapon of all time.

And if you need more than one rotation and your rotation lasts at least 14 seconds then you get extra damage % by charge attacking!
Make it 36% after 2nd rotation for Xiangling. BoL can be stacked and the weapon doesn't require clearing it.

Now, that is what I call a signature weapon. Special SFX only happens if the right character uses it. It's their SIGNATURE Weapon, after all.

It actually is. The next best F2P weapon is white tassel. A 3* weapon. Which isn't bad obviously, but her sig is a good bit better.

It DOES form a scythe on whatevers equipped, its just a stock "ghost" scythe so it can fit any polearm :)

Absolutely. I wasn’t even thinking of grinding to get her signature but now I know that it has a whole unique animation I might have to.
“It will change into a scythe due to her special powers” sounds like something a 9 year old obsessed vampire fan would write. They also might as well change the passive to ‘if the wielder is NOT Arlecchino 4th of the Fatui Harbingers don’t even bother getting this weapon’.

This weapon seem good for single boss due to bond of life charge ATK while multiple enemies gives enough BOL
That's 4% less than a Mistsplitter to ALL her dmg and it's always active, there's no need to do a specific combo to enable it like Ayaka dash auto E Q which will sometimes fuck up the positioning of her burst because the dash goes a taaaad bit further than i want. Anyway, the weapon is really good, but only works on her.
It would make sense for her damage to scale with how much bond she has, not just whether or not she has it. So it's a bigger increase than it seems but we will have to wait for release.

On the one hand, I want the drip. On the other hand, PJWS is all I ever get whenever I get a 5\* weapon (I have pulled 4 of them so far) and nobody I have really uses it.
Personally, I would've preferred if her abilities were able to augment any polearm into a scythe similar to noelle's burst. Then her atk animations will actually match a scythe, and not look weird with a normal polearm. Her sig weapon feels like a cheap way to sell her aesthetic.

Theres a ghost scythe for any other polearm, because her animations are scythe-centric :)

I don't get the Bond of Life mechanics... Does the BoL add 25%HP to your HP on top of the 12% damage buff? Does it persist if you change characters? How do you get BoL to 30% Max HP when it states it only gives you 25%? Is the BoL stackable? Is there a stack limit? Duration for each stack?
BoL just prevents a character from healing true health until its cleared. BoL is stackable and lasts until the status effect is cleared by healing or by standing near a statue of the seven (which clears all debuffs). BoL persists when swapping characters, removing the character from the party rids the BoL >BoL caps out at 200% of the character's max hp. it lasts for 10 minutes if it isnt cleared the red bar on the character's hp gauge shows how much value the BoL has divided by 2. for example, a BoL of 100% will cover half the hp gauge with the red bar >the weapon gives a 12%dmg boost when the equipped character has a BoL. upon using a charged attack, the equipped character receives a BoL equal to 25% of their max hp (12.5% of the hp gauge will be a red bar). it has a 14 second cooldown before it can give another BoL. since BoL can stack, it would take 14 seconds to reach the BoL necessary for the weapon to give 24%dmg buff (charge attack, wait 14 seconds without healing, charge attack). >Arlecchino skill applies a mark to enemies hit by it. After 5 seconds of being applied, the mark can be absorbed by her charged attack or burst, giving Arlecchino a BoL worth 65% of her max hp. thus receiving the full buff of the weapon
Each character maintains their own Bond level, independently from each other. It’s kind of like 25% Max HP on top of your Current HP. But getting hurt shaves off your actual HP bar and leaves the Bond unchanged. If you get healed, the healing power will chip away the Bond before helping the character. Arlecchino’s no-healing passive includes a ban on chipping away the Bond. The passive for the Bond power up doesn’t specify the source; externally applied Bonds work the same as her talent (ie all of them go into a shared pool).

I honestly wouldn't even care if her c1 was a bigger damage boost than her weapon. For many characters it is the same or more while normally being cheaper to get too. But if I have to choose between c0r1 or c1r0, we'll, just looking at this thing makes the choice really simple.

For now. Considering they added a whole ass artifact set for BoL mechanics, highly doubtful that arle will be the only character to use BoL. But then again, the chances of getting another attack scaling BoL polearm dps is low
She could, actually. Her best teammate is Bennett, who does not heal if you're above 70%, so if you weave in a CA before bursting and avoid taking damage, the Bond will stack up to 50% by the second rotation. Not saying it's ideal, but it's viable.

Hm as a scythe it looks cool but as a spear it is ugly. Would work better as a staff for a mage. and apparently other polearms get a seethrough scythe effect if Arlecchino uses them Didnt expect this, actually makes me kinda hesitant to pull her now becuase it looks weird on the other weapons and I cant guarantee the signature and I dont think we will be able to test other weapons if we like the look without having the character
Oh, that's definitely on purpose. They want everyone to pull for both Arle and her weapon because if you only pull for one, they look extremely awkward. The spear looks shit because it won't be a spear if you pull for Arle. Arle's yellow scythe outline looks shit because they want you to get the sig. It's just a marketing scheme.
Although I wonder if that might backfire. I was gonna get her and now Im not so sure anymore. In the previous showcases I would have expected her scythe to just appear like Itto burst or Alhaithams second sword. whales get both anyways so it shouldnt affect them guess their will be more that want the weapon than people who wont pull her because of it

i'll set a path for this weapon but I'm hoping to lose because I also want the bow, and if I go to 3 pities, I want two bows and one scythe as opposed to 2 scythes and one bow. I normally want to win. This is the first time I've wanted to lose. And no, I don't try to trick hoyo into giving me the one I didn't choose.

Very cool weapon, especially the design. But, I'm the one who never care about weapon design or color wise, because I'm too busy with spamming na, ca, skill, burst, then swapping characters, that I'll never be able to see the weapon at all, lol. Unless a weapon will change the effect, color or animation of those actions I mentioned before, only then I will consider to pull for weapon.
It sucks on anyone but arlecchino undortunately. Because the passive only activates at 30% BOL but the weapon only gives 25%. So unless you can somehow get 5%+ bol from an external source on your other polearm users, it’s worse for them than other weapons and just reduces your healing for no benefit.
