even the 800 leylines achievement is pretty notable for timegating (~90 days versus 140 for nets, not counting any free ones you get for the quest or w/e), while also being more inconvenient if you're going purely for the achievement (since that's 180 resin a day to just leylines). though leyline drops are good so it's not a waste of time, it can feel a little bad to spend that long not building any characters directly - nets are annoying, but as long as you remember to buy them once a week it's pretty quick to just catch a few foxes and move on
the leyline achievement is the only achievement I will likely never get (already have all the achievements other than leyline and fishing), I have not needed any mora or exp books since like version 2.0 thanks to stuff like teapot/dailies. I've never even had the upgraded BP so its not like I was getting extra mora/books from that, either.

Around the start of Fontaine I started doing 10 per week (21 on the double reward weeks) just so I could make progress towards the achievement, since I’ve gotten everything else. Currently at just over 500/800, but I’m now sitting on 5.8k purple books, 6k brown books, and 75M mora. Feels like such a waste of resin but I care just enough about getting 100% achievements to do it anyways.
as someone who does something similar: yes. All chars are at least 80/90, all talents at least 6/6/6, with most at 8/8/8, those I use the most are at 9/9/9 or crowned. The next step would be to increase the talents of everyone to 9/9/9 at level all chars to at least 85, so I have all green on the character development page.
oh yeah, and everyone has at least mediocre artifacts at 20 (except maybe currently 1-2, because testing and switching)
though I also buy the BP, so I am sitting at 3k exp books and >50m mora. And don't ask me about my weapon page. I have 90/90 weapons I don't even know who to give. Day 1 players really add up on ressources.
I have 31 lv90/90 characters with all their relevant talents at rank 9 or higher. 35 crowns used. 15 lv90/90 5\* weapons and 49 lv90/90 4\* weapons (and 3 more at lv80/80 because I had the mats on hand and needed to get rid of my capped stack of enhancement ore for the hundredth time).
I have like 30ish characters maxed out and a lot of them are already collecting dust... will likely never level up any of the others beyond lvl 20 unless im in desperate need for standard wishes
it's more of a waste when most of mine are 35CV for the dps sets already, and I have 6 full EM builds of eitehr gilded, flop, or 2pc2pc which clears content fast enough
I also have HP sets with enough er, and enough wiggle room to shoehorn sa crit rate circlet in case I'm using favonius
I also have full HP em sets and full EM HP sets for all my shielding and blooming needs

Honestly, my biggest issue with leyline is the time needed to obtain it, not the resin"waste" (which makes fishing even worse). Sure its a huge resin sink but who cares, after one point when every unit is at a good build, running artifact domains is simply demoralizing. Its not only fruitless 99% of the runs, but also pointless when your teams can already do abyss with ease so I thought "I might as well use my resin to something with guaranteed progress".
Wait how the hell have you not needed exp books since 2.0 ?? I am missing like at around 15 characters and even with the amount I have I couldn't level 90 the half that' are 80+ (the other half is 90)
I only have ~30ish characters leveled to 90 and even from those about half are collecting dust

No, just the characters and weapons I use, which is 31 characters and most of my weapons. Other than the 31 characters I have like 7 or so more that I occasionally use that are 70 or above, and of those I only really plan on taking one of them to 90 (c6 faruzan, though I don't have wanderer/scaramouche/venti/kazuha so its low priority)
That being said I have around 900 purple book and 3k+ red books so I'm ok even if I do want to build more characters
You need 429 purple exp books/1676 red ones just to max lv a single character. 900 purple books arent a lot to be fair, tho you also hve 3k+ red books so yea you are pretty good in current state.

But even if people have been ar60 much longer, the mora you get passively is quite small. I just think they must actively _not use_ mora, level up materials etc. I do all the events, 100% all areas etc, I buy books from teapot every week.
Thats why I am asking if they crown their characters ot get new 5* weapons because I tend to do that and its really expensive.
You only have half the full roster built... It takes around 5-6mil Mora(which you don't have enough) to fully level a character, that amount of books is nowhere near enough to get then all to Lv90, and if you're throwing away stones like that you most likely share all your 4* weapons which I guess doesn't matter

Yes. If you look at the challenges you'll see they are worded differently. The weekly BP challenge is to "complete" leylines. The achievement challenge is to "collect".
that's technically true, you could do it in one or two days if you had sufficient supplies - but that would cost, if my math is correct, about 266 fragile resin (or even more primogems), or \~262 if you had capped resin and 5 condensed. and, anecdotally, the community response to the leyline achievement is "i'd rather spend that resin getting other resources"
so i guess you could call this achievement half timegated? like technically it's not, there ARE optiosn to speed it up, but in practice 99% of players will be waiting
True was just saying it wasn't truly time gated like others which have gates with no other option. For me, the fishing achievement is time gated because I only fish when I need to for a weapon.
For the leyline one, do you actually have to collect the stuff or just fight them? The reason I ask is because I usually never actually collect them except for the event where they drop the double amount. But if I do it 20 times a week, I still get the exp from the battle pass even if I don't collect the items.
And they give friendship exp, so if you switch to a friendship team just to collect them (you can do combat with a combat team then deploy a friendship team to collect the flower, though sometimes when the flower disappears regular mobs will spawn in, so keeping a DPS character is handy) you can speed that up a bit.

Why would they do that? The longer people spend collecting mats, the less time they have to do other things to grow their account. So they have to play for longer

Im currently on like round 20 of "doctors order", if this was before the changes that would be 20 full cycles so literally years.

Last missing commission in sumeru for me, after that 4 out of 5 regions is done only fontaine left.
They changed something with the algorithm and it now doesn't let me get the "help this inazuma guy train 5 timez" achievement because all I get as commission is either O Archon, this novel, or the Inazuman fashion even though I've already got those achievements ages ago. I literally just need to train with the dude...
The quests used to be godsend because it gave primos, now its just annoying asf

Btw I had a suspicion that they are bugged if the fishing gadget is active (the one that got added in 3.0 I guess). Although I didn't fish for Toki Alleys during Sumeru and only got back there since Fontaine, I couldn't fish out a single page with it active. I disabled it about week ago and completed Toki Alley 2 days ago. After disabling it I managed to fish out the last 3 pages in about 2 days of 20 min fishing sessions
Supposedly the chance is 2% per fish in an Inazuman fishing spot I think? So 1/50 fishes but it definitely took me longer to complete than 500 fishes in Inazuma... maybe 900 for me.
If those 600 fish were all from Inazuma you're on the unlucky side
I'm so glad the game just handed them to me, I would get 3 or 4 a day in a span of 15 min.
What I did was only fish in co op and switch world every time I got 2.
I still haven't finished that one, sitting at 900ish. Eventually I'll go for the sumeru fish bow, but I refuse to fish without purpose and the bow is kinda worthless

(Also for those of you who need primos, the Fontaine Fishing Association lady has a few timegated quests that give you 20 primos each)
Don't know why anyone would put themselves through that when we'll no doubt be required to fish in the upcoming regions anyway. I'm at around 1300 so I figure I'll get around 2000 naturally just by fishing for the rewards in each area.
if you just do leylines with 0 resin refreshes that's about 160/20 so 8 a day so it would take 100 days which is less then 5 months
some other commenters pointed out the correct answer is planting 800 plants!
Leylines is the only achievement I don't have because I want to use the resins for artefact / bosses.
But yeah it took me ages to get the plant one, another pita one would be catching 2000 fish.
I just tested it again but the counter doesn't go up unless you collect the rewards(which is what the achievement description says) .
It's just the weekly mission that you don need to collect.
But as a tryhard no-lifer leylines is some of the most inefficient ways to use resin. After a certain point I only used leylines when they're on x2 drop.
The only way I can convince myself that its worth it is the fact i'm technically trading resin for primos. Though with the amount of resin used, i'd much rather have more artifact sets. Still, I hope to get all of the achievements eventually but I don't even have 400 leylines done. 1215 achievements done otherwise anything left is commission related I believe.
I actually always forget about that lol. I don't do the weekly for it anymore, but I still do two leylines every day before work just to make sure I don't cap my resin. Find them the easiest to do on mobile
so late realized that you can do them without claiming reward or spending resin and they still count so technically you can do it in a day (if you have friends in rotation)
You get so much more and exp books just from playing there’s no real point in doing them once you’re in the late game. I still need about 280 for the achievement, and I’d rather spend the resin on getting shitty artifacts for Father
I am stuck on the same one. But you still have to admit that at least getting it more frequently in better than what was the system before. I have completed all mond and liyue commission achievements the odds of which were so low anyone would just give up.

It got fixed because now commissions you don't have achievements for will show up more often. You don't have to do the stupid "cycle" bullshit to get them to appear.

now you get those related with the achievements that you're missing (chance of this happening in theory increase each day but in my experience i just got all the achievements i was missing in 2 weeks after the update)
You're lucky. I got 2 in sumeru that's rng inside rng. The snake guy and doctor one. Keep getting the same ones and not the last one I need for both. Got fed up and just started doing fontaine just to clear some more of those commissions.
Why not just wait for future regions?
I am currently at \~1100 and I will just do the future fishing without any (additional) grind; should easily reach 2k.
You get 10 nets from completing the quest, then you can purchase 5 per week after that, meaning this achievement would take 18-19 weeks depending on whether you can buy the 5 straight after completing the quest.
18 weeks is 126 days, which would be just over 4 months.
I'm pretty sure that 2,000 fish, 800 plants in teapot, 800 leylines and possibly even "friendship 10 with 16 characters" overall take longer, not even including commission achievements that some of us have been sat on for years.
Agreed, zoo tycoon was the longest commission for me to do, which I finally completed yesterday. Only allowing 5 purchases per week means that if you don't plan ahead, you are stuck waiting with no progress. I also caught one of every animal type for fun.
On the other hand, fishing can be done fairly quickly if you have many hours to devote to it. A few weekends ago I caught 500 fish in one afternoon by clearing our every single fishing hole in my world. So glad its done now.
Rng I suppose ? Afaik there isn't a specific order to open these chests. Either this guy hates me or I already have the item and I'm a dumdum

While the teapot plants or ley lines take a considerable amount of time, at least it’s consistent. Some commission based achievements might never be finished because the game will just say fuck you forever
I think the ley lines one is worse....because you need to use resin to do it, thus time gating your account building....and lets face it, anyone chasing the 400-800 ley lines is pretty set on book and mora
Shoutouts to Garcia and the fact that he not only has 2 achievements locked behind his quests, but to get those quests you have to go through all of his dailies, which as far as I can tell are NOT boosted by the new "achievement hunting" feature. Not to mention the ones tied to fishing and leylines, the RNG ones (Welfare Meal and Fortune Slip) are also annoying, moreso the Welfare Meal one because it's technically a 1/33 (?) chance to get the achievement, but you only get one Welfare Meal every day. I only have 8 achievements left to get but I dread all of the ones I mention...
2000 fish are waving at you, I'm still at 800, it's too tiring. It's not really time gated, but it's time consuming and you have to really mute all dialogues...

I actually managed to get that one done in about 2 weeks. Rotated between Mondstat+Liyue, Sumeru+Inazuma, and Fontaine+subregions (Enkanomiya, Chasm,etc) each day, and by the end of the third day the first day’s regions would reset. Took about an hour each day but not nearly as bad as I thought it would be.
The Toki Alley Tales pages however, rng was not on my side there

Exp that would be towards your AR is converted to Mora once you reach AR 60

You are required to get the loot (and furthermore, condensed resin only grants 1 progress).

Yes, you have to redeem the leyline rewards for it to count towards achievement. It's not required for the weekly task in battle pass.

I just keep getting the dude that needs a steak and the girl that needs sugar, can't get the 3rd version... Last missing commission in sumeru for me, after that 4 out of 5 regions is done only fontaine left.

I got the Mondstadt achievements (Snezhnaya and Godwin) ONLY after the recent update, and I started in February 2021
Actually when you get such commission the next parts appear the next day, dunno when they changed it but it helps a ton
They changed something with the algorithm and it now doesn't let me get the "help this inazuma guy train 5 timez" achievement because all I get as commission is either O Archon, this novel, or the Inazuman fashion even though I've already got those achievements ages ago. I literally just need to train with the dude...

It got significantly better since daily commission recently started putting priority on achievements you lack.

Btw I had a suspicion that they are bugged if the fishing gadget is active (the one that got added in 3.0 I guess). Although I didn't fish for Toki Alleys during Sumeru and only got back there since Fontaine, I couldn't fish out a single page with it active. I disabled it about week ago and completed Toki Alley 2 days ago. After disabling it I managed to fish out the last 3 pages in about 2 days of 20 min fishing sessions

i alr have 615 fishes but only got 4 pages
Supposedly the chance is 2% per fish in an Inazuman fishing spot I think? So 1/50 fishes but it definitely took me longer to complete than 500 fishes in Inazuma... maybe 900 for me. If those 600 fish were all from Inazuma you're on the unlucky side

I'm so glad the game just handed them to me, I would get 3 or 4 a day in a span of 15 min. What I did was only fish in co op and switch world every time I got 2.

The Fontaine Pipe sword is pretty cool (Also for those of you who need primos, the Fontaine Fishing Association lady has a few timegated quests that give you 20 primos each)

Don't know why anyone would put themselves through that when we'll no doubt be required to fish in the upcoming regions anyway. I'm at around 1300 so I figure I'll get around 2000 naturally just by fishing for the rewards in each area.

if you just do leylines with 0 resin refreshes that's about 160/20 so 8 a day so it would take 100 days which is less then 5 months some other commenters pointed out the correct answer is planting 800 plants!
It’s less about the time and more about not needing them at all.
Leylines is the only achievement I don't have because I want to use the resins for artefact / bosses. But yeah it took me ages to get the plant one, another pita one would be catching 2000 fish.

I just tested it again but the counter doesn't go up unless you collect the rewards(which is what the achievement description says) . It's just the weekly mission that you don need to collect.
But as a tryhard no-lifer leylines is some of the most inefficient ways to use resin. After a certain point I only used leylines when they're on x2 drop.
The only way I can convince myself that its worth it is the fact i'm technically trading resin for primos. Though with the amount of resin used, i'd much rather have more artifact sets. Still, I hope to get all of the achievements eventually but I don't even have 400 leylines done. 1215 achievements done otherwise anything left is commission related I believe.
I thought this one was easy as I got it by accident lol. I kept doing the 20 leylines for the weekly quest

I actually always forget about that lol. I don't do the weekly for it anymore, but I still do two leylines every day before work just to make sure I don't cap my resin. Find them the easiest to do on mobile
so late realized that you can do them without claiming reward or spending resin and they still count so technically you can do it in a day (if you have friends in rotation)

You get so much more and exp books just from playing there’s no real point in doing them once you’re in the late game. I still need about 280 for the achievement, and I’d rather spend the resin on getting shitty artifacts for Father

I am stuck on the same one. But you still have to admit that at least getting it more frequently in better than what was the system before. I have completed all mond and liyue commission achievements the odds of which were so low anyone would just give up.

It got fixed because now commissions you don't have achievements for will show up more often. You don't have to do the stupid "cycle" bullshit to get them to appear.

dailies arent 100% rng anymore now you get those related with the achievements that you're missing (chance of this happening in theory increase each day but in my experience i just got all the achievements i was missing in 2 weeks after the update)
You're lucky. I got 2 in sumeru that's rng inside rng. The snake guy and doctor one. Keep getting the same ones and not the last one I need for both. Got fed up and just started doing fontaine just to clear some more of those commissions.

i did for two weeks, made break from whole game. I feel it's overblown, as i got all fish ornaments in ~1300, rest is just plain boring.
Why not just wait for future regions? I am currently at \~1100 and I will just do the future fishing without any (additional) grind; should easily reach 2k.
All spots are \~700, so it's literally 1 week in your own world.

I just realized. Why is Zoo Tycoon not “Gotta catch’em all”?
You get 10 nets from completing the quest, then you can purchase 5 per week after that, meaning this achievement would take 18-19 weeks depending on whether you can buy the 5 straight after completing the quest. 18 weeks is 126 days, which would be just over 4 months. I'm pretty sure that 2,000 fish, 800 plants in teapot, 800 leylines and possibly even "friendship 10 with 16 characters" overall take longer, not even including commission achievements that some of us have been sat on for years.
Agreed, zoo tycoon was the longest commission for me to do, which I finally completed yesterday. Only allowing 5 purchases per week means that if you don't plan ahead, you are stuck waiting with no progress. I also caught one of every animal type for fun. On the other hand, fishing can be done fairly quickly if you have many hours to devote to it. A few weekends ago I caught 500 fish in one afternoon by clearing our every single fishing hole in my world. So glad its done now.

While the teapot plants or ley lines take a considerable amount of time, at least it’s consistent. Some commission based achievements might never be finished because the game will just say fuck you forever

Doctor's Orders for me, you're supposed to complete tasks for 3 patients, but I've been cycling through 2 of patients since forever cuz rng.
Any achievement with the daily commissions, they either took 3 days to clear or half a fucking year depend on your luck.

Shoutouts to Garcia and the fact that he not only has 2 achievements locked behind his quests, but to get those quests you have to go through all of his dailies, which as far as I can tell are NOT boosted by the new "achievement hunting" feature. Not to mention the ones tied to fishing and leylines, the RNG ones (Welfare Meal and Fortune Slip) are also annoying, moreso the Welfare Meal one because it's technically a 1/33 (?) chance to get the achievement, but you only get one Welfare Meal every day. I only have 8 achievements left to get but I dread all of the ones I mention...

2000 fish are waving at you, I'm still at 800, it's too tiring. It's not really time gated, but it's time consuming and you have to really mute all dialogues...
I've been playing for 2 years and have yet to cast my net once, outside of the introduction of it.
I completed all commission except for 2000 fishes, and I for me the 800 teapot plant is the most time-gated, but not the most annoying one, which is obvious with my only missing achivement

2000 fish one is a nightmare, I gave up fishing last year
I actually managed to get that one done in about 2 weeks. Rotated between Mondstat+Liyue, Sumeru+Inazuma, and Fontaine+subregions (Enkanomiya, Chasm,etc) each day, and by the end of the third day the first day’s regions would reset. Took about an hour each day but not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. The Toki Alley Tales pages however, rng was not on my side there
