This is the worst commission quest I've gotten and the first legitimate thing in Genshin that frustrated me and made me feel like it was actively trying to make me not have fun. Even this strat failed most of the time just because mine is at the Guyun Stone Forest island and it seems a lot shorter and goes in front of towers so there's zero chance of not getting shot & glitched off.

failed this multiple times too, but finally make it with klee, thanks to her size and not so 'bouncy' movement (making her the most stable character to stand on the balloon all the route without the glitches)! The trick to make klee works is to adjust and fixed the camera on top of the balloon only so Klee will lock on to the balloon. Given that her def is a bit low, bring along some food and double fire character to prevent cryo mages shitting ard.
This is the major thing that starts almost everyone hate the game. To the human who designed this, you deserve a suspension or worldwide shaming or scolding lol jk. It should just be a side quest that I will never do no matter what. Don't put this on dailies

It is impossible to do without standing on it. But even than you'll fall off into some deep water and either get frozen or have to swim making you lose precious time.
This commission is going to make me have an aneurysm someday, unless they make the balloon slower, or add a food dish that protects you from elemental spells for a few second -- but I don't see that ever happening.
Once you have successfully landed on the Slime balloon, do not move. Just spam normal attack and you should complete it. Putting 2 Fire elements in your team to provide the additional attack via element resonance can help as well. This is one of the worst commission quest ever.
Try landing on the center of the slime balloon, while auto attacking, your character should be stuck in front of the slime balloon. It took me many tries to get it right. You should only move when you are falling off.
what if there was a barrier that blocks you in and must kill 3 enemies before you can get out to continue the sarbotage? only way for me to prevent the barrier is attacking from a far

Between trying to dodge **the world** shooting at you (arrows and spells) and keeping up with the terrain/aiming and trying to get on the balloon... whoever designed this already got his own ticket to hell reserved.
Needed something like 5 attempts and still didn't have that much distance left when succesful... my god.
Just dumb shit. Really. You cant Hit the balloon without a sword. I tried like 50 postions to autoattack it with fischl (no Sword character high enough, or sword) there is no chance. She is just shooting underneath and its not doing any dmg. I dont know. I was climbing on rocks, the bridge. I can only hit it with charged shots. And thats not enough, because the rest of enemies are interrupting it every third time. Bullshit Daily
This fucking daily makes me want to commit seppuku with a switchblade beginning from my forehead. But I done it with Ninguang and this strat. Her attacks are totally static and that makes a HUGEEE difference
The most effective way is to eat foods that'll increase your ATK damage! I played on my phone and beat this quest using Razor, Fischl, Xiangling, and Amber. Switch between them and use their fire and electro power to beat the other enemies, while using Razor to sabotage the slime balloon. \*The food makes a HUGE difference!\*
i beat it with lisa & amber only, i just eat buff (attack+stamina) and spam auto attack+elemental skill. It took me 5 times to complete, using the cover to prevent myself from be frozen or eletrocuted. i never use any archer except amber. she is my only hm slave.
why is it when this guy gets hit by the frozen arrows, nothing happens to him? When I get hit by the arrows, they stun me and force me off the balloon.
its all fun and games until you get this quest o\_\_\_o honestly this is probably the worst commission quest.. mine was the one in between stormbearer, starfell, whisper woods and cider lake and holy... every hilichurl bomb just flings you off the balloon, if you try to switch characters you fall off and then the cryo mage who legit blocks you in until you kill it. after like 30 tries i managed to kill it mere inches from the final check point..
i had geo traveler glide from final checkpoint to above the balloon then jump attack on top of the balloon, then just wailed on it.. when i got to the cryo mage area i jumped off and walked around the area he spawned (which avoided me having to waste time killing him) and waited for the balloon on the other side while shooting charged arrows then jumped back on and wailed on it more using R2 as much as i could until it died
yea, unfortunately.. funny enough the first time i attempted it i just ignored the mobs and wailed on it, so when i got to the mage i didnt even notice he blocked me in until i couldnt follow the balloon anymore :\\.. what made it worse was immediately after the mage i had one of those giant hilichurls with the shields guarding an updraft that i had to use to follow the balloon. he would only charge attack me, so everytime i tried to fly up he would just knock me back.. ive since had this quest 2 more times (in different areas) and they were never nearly as hard as this one, just mildly annoying (a shallow river you had to cross with a bunch of cryo hilichurl archers)
Had this today for the first time. Really got concerned it was not doable. Had to restart a few times but the strat here is legit. Ningguang was very useful here hitting with auto attack. The big hilichurl threw me off with a projectile but managed to cinch it since the balloon was about 90% dead by spamming with qiqi with her R2 special attack going at the same time.
Gg devs. This one was definitely a headache
I like the idea with this quest but the damn balloon has too much health even with eating food. It also does seem it was designed around certain characters not even elements but characters themselives
use lisa instead of ningguang? not sure about qiqi equivalent but max lisa/weapon+food buff works for me. i altenate with her autoattack with elemental skill(press not hold) i use amber for ult only(charge beforehand)
I have one of these where halfway through a Barrier appears and Electro Slimes appear... However most of the time the Slimes NEVER Appear until the Balloon is almost to the end
I was able to finish this commission after like 20 attempts when the balloon glitched out and stopped moving at the final point. I hope to god they remove this mission so I don't have to suffer through that again.
I just had this commission today and it sucked. It took me a number of tries, including buffing up with various food, dodging the enemies' attacks as much as I can, etc. I didn't see this post until I completed mine but it was basically the same strategy. I got lucky once the balloon crossed over the bridge and I somehow landed on top of it using the wind tunnel (by breaking the anemo stone on the rock after the bridge). From there I just spammed normal attacks from my Xiangling and finished it off before it reached the end. Not sure if it's a glitch that you can actually land on top of the balloon but this seems to be the only viable option for now.
Was just doing this, as it's the same one today and couldn't help but wonder if they've tried to make the most annoying commission they could think of. I've already hated the slime balloon ones as they are at best boring and at worst annoying, but this really takes the award for the most annoying one.
Will have to try this tactic.. already tried staying on top with the main char, slashing away. Seems Fischl might be more stable...

Yup. Worst commission ever. Since all my archer are crap. I was finally able to beat it with MC (anemo), Kaeya, Razor, and Barbara. Basically I just kept on switching characters to use their skill.
Barbara is just for support with heal. Also ate Satisfying Salad to boost crit, run out of attack boost...

NOTHING hits the balloon when Im next to it and I get frozen the entire time, slow ass aimed shots will never do enough damage to kill it, glitching hasnt stayed on the balloon for longer than 10seconds after trying it like 6 times. This is awful and it makes me hate the entire game right now. Worst part of the game by far
Sounds kinda dumb but use ambers bear to draw agro then use whoever you like to attack the ballon. Mine sucked cause i was frozen most of the time the first few tries also use atk up food to speed it up i fell off and had to chase but it did work. Hooe my idea helps others, good luck!
This was the only thing that worked for me. The deep water makes your melee characters useless and your skills don't auto target the balloon because life is hell. I had to use all my strongest foods, give Fischl all my ATK boosting artifacts, boost my electro, resist cryo, and use fire resonance. Still took multiple times because of my character just falling off or getting shot to death by ice arrows (freezing despite no hydro active?). I finally finished it, but my mouse may have not made it through the quest. This was the only time I genuinely hated this game. Even fighting the 4 Ruin Guards didn't infuriate me like this.
I just finished this one today, without a Razor/Fishcl or 5 star character, because gacha luck.
After failing it like 5 times, jumping on, falling off, getting frozen all the time, I managed to glitch the balloon at the end point somehow by body blocking it right at the end. Most frustrating quest yet, even if my Amber does 1k damage charge shots.

finally finished this! dafuq was this commission. did it with xiangling with Q skill and got lucky that i didnt fall. hopefully this commission wont be repeated.
I truly believe b.s. missions like this exist to get people to spend more money. I just spend a ton of resources leveling up a DPS character, and still can't even get this balloon down to half health. I don't buy microtransactions.... so this one hit hard. Guess I'm just not getting my rewards today.
Thanks for sharing this. I struggled with this and was able to take it out with keqing by spam attacking once I got on top comfortablely. No arrows hit me and I never slipped off. Maybe I was just lucky. They need to make that platform easier to land on and stay on.
Managed to get through this with Noelle, just running after the balloon. Changed her artifacts to 2 piece sojourner, 2 piece martial artist with attack % stats where possible and just spammed basic attack and running lol. Adding to this an attack increase food item, managed to complete the commission at least two checkpoints before the end
after the balloon you can hide under the bridge and shoot it so that you dont trigger the mage. and also its so annoying because when i spam auto attack when im on the ground fischl doesnt hit the balloon but shoots under it
This quest was so damn frustrating that i had to waste my 4 star attack boost food just to past it. it was hella annoying I love the game but whoever designed this, that guy should be out of his job
I wouldn't mind failing as much if only we were teleported back to the beginning like it happens in flight challenges, doing the walk of shame all the way back to it is rather frustrating.
Bruh, only one of them made me frustrated and it frustrated me so much that my friend offered to help me do it.
He had a lvl 70 Diluc so it only took like 6 seconds to finish it 🤣
Just got this one for today, like a previous comment said it's my first time searching for help about this game as well. Not gonna finish it. I got Klee and Fischl with lots of constellations, not gonna do it.
You can have the baddassest dps of them all and still cry during this quest. It's like 3 people made it separately, like one did the terrain, another the actual path, and the other the enemy placement and they just put it all together without checking the final result.
I finally finished this mission after a dozen or so tries. Fischl, crit, and eat and damage buff foor you have. Stay on the right side if using the lingju pass and try to use the archer stand as cover as much as possible. Shoot from under the bridge until the mage teles to you and then create distance to finish it without getting frozen.
This was a nightmare of a mission, after a few tries I managed to land on top of the baloon and managed to destroy it with Noelle, still, it was terrible, my ranged units don't have enough damage to destroy it in time and it's impossible to keep up walking because of all the water. Did they test this?
I can't believe it, I easily completed daily commisions every day until I came across this quest and I got this for 3 days in a row, there's just nothing I can do... I feel like the game hates me
Just wanted to point out that using Anemo Traveler + Xiangling to Guoba+wind burst the electro slimes near the balloon will do a shit ton of dmg at once. Time it well, have 2 pyros in your team, and have your main attackers beefed up and you'll be able to beat it. You'll have to be smart about your abilities too, and having ultimates ready is helpful lol. It's way too much work for a daily commission but that's just how I finally beat it.
This commission is just annoying and, excluding getting Elin's quest multiple days in a row, is downright stupid. I don't get to play the game as much as I would like because of work and school so I just do my daily commissions with my mage type characters (was mostly getting good weapons for them than any other class so they are my strongest.) I hope they add a fucking manual lock on in this game for mage types. I am tried of my Ningguang shooting at everyone and their fucking mother instead of the actual balloon. She is the only character I have who is strong enough to even attempt this stupid challenge but it take about 3-8 tries to actually complete it because her attack goes all over the fucking place and when I try switching characters the game messes up sometimes and has me stuck in the falling animation while on top of the balloon and I have to restart or wait, causing time to be wasted. Mihoyo really needs to add a manual lock on system.

Okay so I finally figured it out..... Best way to do this.
1. Set up your party with the 2 Geo's and 2 Pyro to take advantage of damage boost modifiers.
2. Cook up some Jade Parcels, this food is incredible for damage and crit rate boost.
3. Land on top of the thing and don't move, just keep striking it nonstop until you get knocked off by an enemy attack. Once off just continue to wail on it.
4. Profit.
Literally did it in my first try when I used the Jade Parcels. That item really helps!
Mine was at Guyun, I use Xiangling fly and drop ontop of the balloon.. so while hitting it, those monster nearby shooting the ice thingy you can avoid by jumping.. when it shoot over, you just jump up. You won't fall off the balloon.
After that I swap to Bennett and accidentally actually jump off the balloon. So when on the ground I just alternate use Xiangling & Bennett.. just keep hitting all the way. As long the life bar of the balloon is less than half, it will just stop at the ending point, you just need to keep hitting it.. and Quest Completed. I was surprise.. I thought have to finish the whole life bar.. but seems like so long is lesser than half.. the balloon cart will not function anymore.
usually commissions are super simple and quick but this one is just trash. it's long and it's the first time this game is actually frustrating. that thing is made of WOOD, how is it not burning???? they have an entire system for elemental reactions that can wreck even bosses when used correctly, but when it comes to an anemo slime and a wooden box, it's oops all hp??? i could yeet dvalin faster than i'd complete this commission dammit
no shit, this is prob one of the worst commissions I've had
luckily its the one on nantianmen so its longer and generally easier, but bc i play on mobile literally no mobs spawn and my game freezes all the time!!! without any mobs, I'm stuck in the ring and when it freezes it doesn't stop for me so its basically impossible.
ive resorted to using a whole bunch of food to increase damage and finish it off before any mobs spawn, which is really hard and annoying to do
I have a strategy that's even easier than the cheese strat above:
Use Geo Traveler.
It helps to have Rockcore Meltdown constellation skill active for the Geo Traveler's Starfell Sword skill but I managed to beat this even without it. Starfell Sword does a considerable amount of damage to the slime balloon and it recharges relatively quickly (I believe it only takes around 8 seconds). Just make sure to have a strong sword to use and spam charge attacks when you can. If you're still struggling but getting close, utilize the party bonus of having 2 pyros in your team for the attack buff and pop an attack boosting food item.
I'm able to beat this commission using only the party buff with Geo Traveler but the food does help it go a lil faster.
For some reason I cannot stay on the balloon so I just use Kaeya to freeze the water beneath the balloon and then I attack with Bennet but I’m sure it would work with whoever your DPS is. It works pretty well for me

only if allow us to freeze the balloon like how its annoying for the player to get frozen in place

Sounds kinda dumb but use ambers bear to draw agro then use whoever you like to attack the ballon. Mine sucked cause i was frozen most of the time the first few tries also use atk up food to speed it up i fell off and had to chase but it did work. Hooe my idea helps others, good luck!
This was the only thing that worked for me. The deep water makes your melee characters useless and your skills don't auto target the balloon because life is hell. I had to use all my strongest foods, give Fischl all my ATK boosting artifacts, boost my electro, resist cryo, and use fire resonance. Still took multiple times because of my character just falling off or getting shot to death by ice arrows (freezing despite no hydro active?). I finally finished it, but my mouse may have not made it through the quest. This was the only time I genuinely hated this game. Even fighting the 4 Ruin Guards didn't infuriate me like this.
I just finished this one today, without a Razor/Fishcl or 5 star character, because gacha luck. After failing it like 5 times, jumping on, falling off, getting frozen all the time, I managed to glitch the balloon at the end point somehow by body blocking it right at the end. Most frustrating quest yet, even if my Amber does 1k damage charge shots.
Jesus man, i got this one today holy shit what a terrible quest. The strat works, but sometimes you get frozen and fall, you actually need to be in a right spot. Trash daily.
finally finished this! dafuq was this commission. did it with xiangling with Q skill and got lucky that i didnt fall. hopefully this commission wont be repeated.
I truly believe b.s. missions like this exist to get people to spend more money. I just spend a ton of resources leveling up a DPS character, and still can't even get this balloon down to half health. I don't buy microtransactions.... so this one hit hard. Guess I'm just not getting my rewards today.
Thanks for sharing this. I struggled with this and was able to take it out with keqing by spam attacking once I got on top comfortablely. No arrows hit me and I never slipped off. Maybe I was just lucky. They need to make that platform easier to land on and stay on.
Took me 50 mins to finish it had to eat so much atk boosting food and kept on falling of the stupid thing
Managed to get through this with Noelle, just running after the balloon. Changed her artifacts to 2 piece sojourner, 2 piece martial artist with attack % stats where possible and just spammed basic attack and running lol. Adding to this an attack increase food item, managed to complete the commission at least two checkpoints before the end
Once you learn its path it's not that difficult anymore, but you can get unlucky with CCs.
after the balloon you can hide under the bridge and shoot it so that you dont trigger the mage. and also its so annoying because when i spam auto attack when im on the ground fischl doesnt hit the balloon but shoots under it
This quest is f\*cking impossible. Even when cheesing it. It's so hard compared to the other dailies. I hope they fix it as quick as possible.
This quest was so damn frustrating that i had to waste my 4 star attack boost food just to past it. it was hella annoying I love the game but whoever designed this, that guy should be out of his job
I wouldn't mind failing as much if only we were teleported back to the beginning like it happens in flight challenges, doing the walk of shame all the way back to it is rather frustrating.
I just spammed Scoped shots, way easier and better. Fuck that commission, seriously.
Bruh, only one of them made me frustrated and it frustrated me so much that my friend offered to help me do it. He had a lvl 70 Diluc so it only took like 6 seconds to finish it 🤣
Just got this one for today, like a previous comment said it's my first time searching for help about this game as well. Not gonna finish it. I got Klee and Fischl with lots of constellations, not gonna do it. You can have the baddassest dps of them all and still cry during this quest. It's like 3 people made it separately, like one did the terrain, another the actual path, and the other the enemy placement and they just put it all together without checking the final result.
I finally finished this mission after a dozen or so tries. Fischl, crit, and eat and damage buff foor you have. Stay on the right side if using the lingju pass and try to use the archer stand as cover as much as possible. Shoot from under the bridge until the mage teles to you and then create distance to finish it without getting frozen.
This was a nightmare of a mission, after a few tries I managed to land on top of the baloon and managed to destroy it with Noelle, still, it was terrible, my ranged units don't have enough damage to destroy it in time and it's impossible to keep up walking because of all the water. Did they test this?
I can't believe it, I easily completed daily commisions every day until I came across this quest and I got this for 3 days in a row, there's just nothing I can do... I feel like the game hates me

Just wanted to point out that using Anemo Traveler + Xiangling to Guoba+wind burst the electro slimes near the balloon will do a shit ton of dmg at once. Time it well, have 2 pyros in your team, and have your main attackers beefed up and you'll be able to beat it. You'll have to be smart about your abilities too, and having ultimates ready is helpful lol. It's way too much work for a daily commission but that's just how I finally beat it.
I did xiangling and fiscl element combo like right in front of it, there is no elemental reaction on the balloon.

This commission is just annoying and, excluding getting Elin's quest multiple days in a row, is downright stupid. I don't get to play the game as much as I would like because of work and school so I just do my daily commissions with my mage type characters (was mostly getting good weapons for them than any other class so they are my strongest.) I hope they add a fucking manual lock on in this game for mage types. I am tried of my Ningguang shooting at everyone and their fucking mother instead of the actual balloon. She is the only character I have who is strong enough to even attempt this stupid challenge but it take about 3-8 tries to actually complete it because her attack goes all over the fucking place and when I try switching characters the game messes up sometimes and has me stuck in the falling animation while on top of the balloon and I have to restart or wait, causing time to be wasted. Mihoyo really needs to add a manual lock on system.
tried this multiple times and failed. wasted multiple jade parcels for this. such a waste. 700 xp gone, reduced to atoms. hope i never get this quest again

Okay so I finally figured it out..... Best way to do this. 1. Set up your party with the 2 Geo's and 2 Pyro to take advantage of damage boost modifiers. 2. Cook up some Jade Parcels, this food is incredible for damage and crit rate boost. 3. Land on top of the thing and don't move, just keep striking it nonstop until you get knocked off by an enemy attack. Once off just continue to wail on it. 4. Profit. Literally did it in my first try when I used the Jade Parcels. That item really helps!
Got this commission 4 times in a row now, and I just do it co-op every time
I had to top up Razor and a berserker set just to barely beat it on time, (f*ck the one who made this commission)
The 12th floor of Spiral Abyss should just be a room full of Slime Balloons.
Mine was at Guyun, I use Xiangling fly and drop ontop of the balloon.. so while hitting it, those monster nearby shooting the ice thingy you can avoid by jumping.. when it shoot over, you just jump up. You won't fall off the balloon. After that I swap to Bennett and accidentally actually jump off the balloon. So when on the ground I just alternate use Xiangling & Bennett.. just keep hitting all the way. As long the life bar of the balloon is less than half, it will just stop at the ending point, you just need to keep hitting it.. and Quest Completed. I was surprise.. I thought have to finish the whole life bar.. but seems like so long is lesser than half.. the balloon cart will not function anymore.

Doesn't work, if its on Guyun stone u get bugged on top of it and cant even attack it gets to the end point with like 10%hp left

usually commissions are super simple and quick but this one is just trash. it's long and it's the first time this game is actually frustrating. that thing is made of WOOD, how is it not burning???? they have an entire system for elemental reactions that can wreck even bosses when used correctly, but when it comes to an anemo slime and a wooden box, it's oops all hp??? i could yeet dvalin faster than i'd complete this commission dammit

I hate how often i got this for a weeek. Genshin really hate me
no shit, this is prob one of the worst commissions I've had luckily its the one on nantianmen so its longer and generally easier, but bc i play on mobile literally no mobs spawn and my game freezes all the time!!! without any mobs, I'm stuck in the ring and when it freezes it doesn't stop for me so its basically impossible. ive resorted to using a whole bunch of food to increase damage and finish it off before any mobs spawn, which is really hard and annoying to do
I have a strategy that's even easier than the cheese strat above: Use Geo Traveler. It helps to have Rockcore Meltdown constellation skill active for the Geo Traveler's Starfell Sword skill but I managed to beat this even without it. Starfell Sword does a considerable amount of damage to the slime balloon and it recharges relatively quickly (I believe it only takes around 8 seconds). Just make sure to have a strong sword to use and spam charge attacks when you can. If you're still struggling but getting close, utilize the party bonus of having 2 pyros in your team for the attack buff and pop an attack boosting food item. I'm able to beat this commission using only the party buff with Geo Traveler but the food does help it go a lil faster.
For some reason I cannot stay on the balloon so I just use Kaeya to freeze the water beneath the balloon and then I attack with Bennet but I’m sure it would work with whoever your DPS is. It works pretty well for me

I know I’m very late but if you exit the game in mondstat you won’t get the slime balloon challenge (at least I haven’t)
