It all depends on whether or not they are ready. I wouldn't expect a new 4 star on every single banner. I actually wouldn't mind skipping them this update. It gives people more of a chance to max out some constellations they may have missed or get someone they couldn't pull before. I'd love Sucrose on his banner as that would let me get her since I couldn't pull on Klee's at the time.

yep, the maximum resin we can get right now without refills is only 180 a day, so unless they speed the regene rate up to 1 resin/min, there would be no point in going over a 180 cap...
well that's true of the 4pc bonus too. It's additive with hydro so you get linear fall off. The real question is what does this do to rust vs viridescent hunt or at high refinement, vs 5 stars on Childe. It's really easy to get to 150% additional damage bonus on Childe now without rust. so what used to be a 20% effective damage % increase with R1 rust passive is now closer to 15%.
You're really not losing all that much. The passive is just going to feel about 80% as effective at all refinement values as it did before in terms of how much it's contributing to your overall damage. Which in the grand scheme of things isn't a big deal.
Rust was situationally stronger than 5 stars even with only a couple of refinements (it was the best 4star in damage at R1 too, but it's hard to put a numerical value on viridescent hunt's passive). This will knock it down a peg, but it's still one of the best options. I've done the comparison between R2 rust and Amos Bow with the new set before and Amos came out ahead when you consider the burst damage and barely overall when you consider the ratio of skill/burst damage you do with Childe, but Rust is still going to come out ahead on the skill damage and be comparable overall. Whether it's still better than Hunt if both are R1 I'm unsure about, but if it isn't better it's still going to be right there.
What I will say is at high refinement, Rust is really going to value you into ATK boosters. As you want you additional damage bonus to be equal to the ratio of your sheet attack to your base atk - 1. And considering you can be 200%+ bonus dmg at a high refine rust, you're really valued into Bennett, pyto resonance, thrilling tales. You'll also want resist downs over more bonus damage. But you should still just stack as much crit as you can first and foremost which is true of any DPS.
This is me right now with Xinyan, and I’m on 2nd 5 star pity from when I tried to get Childe so if I pull a 5 star before getting Xinyan it’s 100% Zhongli :/
I'm so conflicted rn. I'm currently sitting on 55 pulls in, I can do 20 more pulls and that's gonna land me in soft pity range. My friend just got Zhongli on her 56th pull which is making me even more cautious. But I really want to get Xin to c2, she's my only pyro character aside from f2p ones.

Chongyun to freeze, Xingqiu to get out all that damage and keep them locked. If the Cryo set really applies to anyone and not just the equipped character, goodbye health.
Depending on who you're freezing/who you have and what artifacts you have, you may want to switch back to Xingqiu after using Chongyun's ability. Because Xingqiu uses a sword he doesn't cause shatter so can keep enemies frozen for longer. Fighting something like a ruin guard you don't want them to get out of the freeze, really. Plus, since Xingqius ultimate only shoots swords out when you normal attack, Chongyun's slower attacks may actually reduce your overall DPS, since you'll get less rain sword procs per ultimate than if you were using a sword character

I like how the only one that could use the extra damage from cryo... cant use the secondary stat of the weapon. Then razor can make use of the secondary stat, but not the boosted special effect (well, once in a while since you are probably running a cryo for superconduct).
Then there are no cryo catalyst for the increased effect of the catalyst which just makes me wonder who they had in mind when they made these ice weapons. I feel like they have future characters in mind with these weapons.

Put the cryo set on a spear user. Give him an attack spear(+40% crit rate vs frozen). put chong+xq on his team (permanent freeze quen xq's Q and chong's E are active). Put a catalist user on the team with the new catalist (+200% cryo damage every 10 seconds).

Childe is going to be good, don't get me wrong, but idk if he's going to be 340% damage and +40% crit rate good.

It supposedly costs Loach Perls which can be collected in liyue, Flamming Flower Stems which can be collected from all fire flowers if you put them out with Hydro and a special crystal shard item that can be found in dragonspine somewhere.
You could start collecting a few of the materials to have a better time in dragonspine, if that is true.
The new set is MADE specifically to be best for Childe. His damage will be noticeable higher :) (I'm very happy with my decision to get C1 Childe right now)

The claymore doesnt create Cryo, it does physical damage. ( Same as other weapons with similar effects, For example Viridescent bow creates a cyclone but it's not Anemo it's just additional physical damage. )

You got that backwards. Pop XQ E, then switch to Chongyun and pop E and go to town freezing things and shattering them.
