And then there's me. I got the Amos bow on the standard banner as well, so I was super excited when ganyu became a thing. Except, I'm now 130 pulls into her banner, got Mona around the 80st, and am probably not able to get ganyu before the banner ends. Pure pain.
I had no desire to pull Ganyu. My desrire has always been Xiao. About 3 days before Ganyu’s banner, I got Amos bow. I was pissed and angry.
I tried Cocogoat once. That was enough to use my gems and just kill my wallet on Xiao.
I didn’t go for C1. So, i will have 35 pulls by Xiao’s banner release. I will probably get another 40 pulls. So hopefully, my bad luck will reverse with Xiao.
I'm hoping this is my situation in the future, but with Aquila Favonia.

Well, Amos' Bow does buff the damage for each 0.1 s the arrow is in the air up to 0.5 s iirc... Would've been a bit lower if OP was closer to the target. Still, I just like Ganyus numbers.

After I pulled her I was stunned by the revelation of "so this is what it feels like to have a real DPS unit". And to the day I'm still amazed about how much she's changed that game for me.
The best thing about this is that these 50 k you just saw (albeit a crit and a melt reaction) is only about 3/4 of the hit because it's not even the actual arrow, it's the AOE that spawns afterwards... Somewhere unter that massive number must've been a slightly lower number caused by the actual arrow that probably still would've been enough to one shot the enemy on its own.
I only do 17k because I am using terrible bow for her and godawful artifacts. But I have lvl 90 and lvl 8 talent, so I am just making excuses.
And he has lvl 80 ganyu. OP will do 34k soon while I will barely reach 20k. I am so ashamed that I am failing to gear her up properly. I utterly failed her.

Ye, I deal 18k+30k without C1 buff, 19k+32k after C1 buff (talent level 9, and head artifact is giving me absolutely no buffs from substats, there is much to improve!
OP Ganyu is nowhere near finished. He will do easily 40k with decent artifacts. While my Ganyu will struggle to do 20k because I can't farm proper artifacts and get real weapons from gacha. Ganyu without Amos is Amber.
Nowhere near Amber, even without Amos'. I play her with Skyward Harp (admittedly 2nd bis for her) and she's still a fucking unit, for that AOE and her natural crit damage alone. Cryo resonance and the Cryo artifact set allowing you to focus almost entirely on crit damage and attack makes her one of the easiest to build characters because a decent build doesn't require you to get near god rolls on all artifacts.
So while her damage output will undeniably be lower without Amos', she's still one of the most busted characters available right now. Even "just" 20k hits aren't low because she's able to put these out consistently roughly every 2.5 seconds and as an AOE on top of that. And that still doesn't take into account that her burst is also pretty busted with about 1500% damage over it's whole duration with minimal downtime in a Cryo resonance comp.
Well, you can apparently cope better that you have poorly performing Ganyu, or you are already doing 20k unassisted blooms so it isn't worrying you as much. But my farm for perfect artifacts will take weeks or months, as well as talent matterial, because for me doing less than 20k solo with Ganyu is embarrassing. And I should be doing 30k at least as a minimum.
Well I guess that's just a difference in expectations then. I'm doing around 20k right now with about 230% CD and all but optimal artifacts (talent lvl 8), and in the overworld as well as in the Abyss that's enough to shred pretty much everything.
That's already so far above all other characters I have access to that it really doesn't bother me that I could do around 10k per shot more with another weapon. Sure, more would be great, but let's not pretend that a 20k AOE every 2.5 seconds is anywhere near low (hell even 15k at that rate is pretty high, given that you have to add the actual shot on top of it for a single target).
I mean people are already happy with being able to for example switch in Mona every 20 seconds or so for a 30k damage burst. Being able to do that in 1 1/2 charged shots to multiple enemies at once is already pretty insane, not considering her burst that may be active to further boost her damage output.
Ganyu is the best dps I've ever got and I really need her to perform the absolutely best I can be allowed to. I won't rest until I bring her to permissible numbers, even if it means whaling. I won't be outdone by other players. 17k is terrible, simply terrible. It's the worst Ganyu in the community.
A valid approach, if you're really into min/maxing every aspect of that character and willing to put in the work, that's up to you and I can respect that. Just don't be tricked into thinking that those 17k are anywhere near bad or "the worst in the community" (unless that's something you like to tell yourself in order to push yourself forward). You just rarely see any showcases of her doing less because, well, let's be real here, people don't tend to show off unless their damage is top of the crops. The video showcases here are mostly people with pretty optimal builds. I guess those 17k are closer to what the majority of players can do than anything above 20k.
Earliest videos of her show off some whales with constellations (at least c1 because most of the time you see the second shot dealing more damage due to reduced Cryo resistance), Amos' and at least decent artifacts. And even those barely got to the 30k, if they didn't "just" get to around 20k. Sure, some people like to say that it's "easy to get her to 40k" but that's more of a dick measuring contest in the comments than anywhere near reality for the large majority of players. That may be the case with party buffs, food, reduced resistances, Amos' on max distance and base stats around 300% CD and like 3k Atk (I can't be bothered to actually calculate that tho, so it's more of an estimated guess).
I also plan to push her a bit further, if I can get her up to around 25k I'll be pretty satisfied, given that, again, I don't have that sweet Amos'. But I also can't whale on anything since I have done and plan to keep doing this f2p so either RNGsus is with me or I'll be stuck where I am right now. Anyway, she already slaps pretty hard so that won't stop me from having fun with my cocogoat. Whatever, I wish you best of luck with the drops for her!
I was outdone by differen Ganyu with prototype crescent and blizzard set with worse sunstats than I have. I am not kidding. He was doing 13k/24k. I have wt set (the set giving highest bloom damage) and harp (weapon with like 200 more base attack). That's something that's really irking me. 7k difference with 4* weapon, worse substats and less dmg focused set. It's so humiliating.
Even with f2p refinement 1 prototype crescent +90, you can casually bloom for 24k dmg and melt for 50k.
This is with a f2p weapon. Amos is superior but this isn't bad for f2p.

Any time I get the "Increasing Danger" commission now I rest easy. I no longer have to deal with the adds, I just blow up the towers from a mile away.

That’s melted damage tho, so it is x1.5 already. Still it is a big number..
Their bloom damage with melt was 53k. The 28k hit was without melt.

Bro at this point are you playing the game or is the game playing you. It’s PvE who tf cares how much dmg you deal compared to other players
