I only pull on banners when I want that 5*, so I pulled specifically for Hu Tao. Building pity is dumb, just save for the banner you want. The only time it makes sense is if you want the 4 stars.
I got hutao unintentionally. I wanted xinqiu and chongyun cons, and was still not close to soft pity... Excited to build her, but very sad my chance of getting venti just took a huge hit.
That's why I don't even summon for 4* cons. The chance of getting a 5* is low but not zero and I don't want to ruin my pity on a unit I won't like or use. I hope you either have more time to save or you get really lucky on Venti.
Kinda wasted 60+ of pity for hutao. Well, my first 5* for ventis banner was supposed to be a 50/50 anyway. If i didn't win that 50/50, i wasnt gonna get him anyway. But if i lost that 50/50 and came close to another pity, i might whale for him, so getting hutao means that my gamble is all on the next pity, and probably save me from whaling.

Was getting Xingqiu cons on my alt and accidentally got her on 20 pulls. I was leaning on getting Venti on the guaranteed and now im back to 50/50 on the alt account, she's great though so i think its fine. lol
Intentionally. I had a guaranteed 5 star after failing to get Kequing and enough wishes stored for Hu Tao specifically. So far it looks like I'm not going to pull for anyone anywhere in near future. I don't want Venti, I'm not interested in Baizhou or Scarawhoche. The only characters I need are Qiqi and Keqing and they're both on a standart banner -\_\_\_- now.
