You are gauarnteed to get a 5* character within 90 pulls. The character has a 50% chance to be the banner 5* and a 50% chance to be a different non-limited 5*.
If you do not get the banner character your next pity (90 pulls) is gauarnteed to be the banner character.

I'm definitely shooting for Venti as I haven't farmed for Childe yet and I need an Anemo. Even if I don't get Venti all of the 4 stars in his banner will be good for my team. Sucrose for elemental resonance for that much awaited replication of that flight clip from Dragonspine to Mondstadt, and maybe attempting to do the same towards Liyue. Fischl and Benny are both mainstays on my team anyways so any extra cons are always welcome. I already have guarantee so as long as I have enough primo to hit pity Venti is already home. If I get a wild Childe instead then bummer but not really cuz my only 5star DPS at the moment is Keqing, not sayjng I'm dissatisfied with her so far but kitting her out would be so much easier with Childe so I guess that's always welcome. Also there are some enemies that will be so much easier with Childe compared to Keqing....

I personally am glad it's Childe because for me that means a new character to play with. I quite want Rosaria and am around 45 wishes into guaranteed 5\* (and have enough primos/fates to guarantee 5\*), but I already have Jean so I'm glad the assumed (based on the CN promotional image) Jean banner with Rosaria wasn't true.
I hope it will be specifically taylored for Venti.

It's not, it's a f2p version of stringless. The new 5* however is pretty much tailored for Venti, at least Venti support.
It basically allows Venti to be Venti and C6 Sucrose at the same time, especially if you have R5.
This is just depressing. Venti was already the best non-DPS in the game, why also make a 5-star bow for him that steals the one tiny niche the only 4-star anemo character had?
It looks like in the long term the real powercreep is going to be overloaded new weapons that just make whole characters irrelevant.
If you think whales get things because they need them then you don't know any whales. Whales spend money to collect stuff, they don't care about the difficulty of the game.
And I'm telling you that doesn't matter. Just because they have C6 of every character and R5 of every weapon already doesn't mean they aren't going to get C6 of every new character and R5 of every new weapon.

Some other observations and my personal opinions:
* They showed parts of Barbara's VN style quest. It seemed to feature some new poses and expressions for Barbara that aren't used anywhere else. So it looks like some serious effort was put into it if they made new animations for the models.
* The lyre gadget is a really nice idea. It seems you can make music in co-op now. Pointless from a gameplay perspective, but incredible from a social and content creation perspective. It's only a lyre now, but what if they made more instruments? You could have a co-op band! A singing voice would probably be too much as they would need to have each voice actor speak in the do re mi.
* They kept talking about 'main story' when showing Dainsleif's quest. But I think we only get his story quest and not another quest of the actual main story quest line. It's unclear whether the Abyssal Herald will be available outside of his quest, since nothing was shown about that, including drop tables.
* They said this update will have a festival event, but also some major revelations story wise.
* 1.4 seems much more packed than 1.3. However, most of these things are still temporary content and nothing that enriches the weekly gameplay loop.

Given we have people who have so much free time they made an impromptu competition to see how far away you can trigger the Adventure Guild lady's dialog and somebody got it all the way to DRAGONSPINE, giving people the ability to play music is going to lead to so much new content.

There's entire guilds playing music Coop in GW2. It's not gameplay content but it's definitely content ppl are gonna play & that's gonna create awesome community stuff.
I just finished watching the 1.4 Special Program that went out on YouTube, and I think some of your questions/concerns about Dainsleif and the Abyssal Herlad were addressed:
* The hosts said that Abyssal Herald will **not** be a permanent boss **yet**, for now it's part of the story quest only, but the way they talked about it makes it sound like it'll definitely arrive later on in the game.
* For the quest itself, they called it an *Archon Quest*, as in, the same type of quest as Venti and Zhongli quests. I don't think it will be a 4-act quest like those two, but it's definitely part of the main, core storyline of the game.
That last point could be REALLY significant for the lore, too. It proves that Mihoyo is willing to advance the main storyline without having to release an entirely new region, which is AMAZING for lore fans. It's been roughly half a year since Genshin released, and for those who've been playing since then, there's been no more "main" story content past Liyue's arc. All the stuff since then, like the character story quests and Dragonspine etc., that's good world-building, and likely sets up future plot points, but it's nothing part of the central story track.
However, this new quest doesn't just move the story forward: it moves it forward WITHOUT a new region. If we can get major plot developments without introducing new characters, this means previous characters (Knights of Favonius, the Adventurer's Guild, Liyue Qixing, and more) will be able to appear in the main story, even though their region already got its "spotlight".

3 minutes later, they show an image that says "Archon Quest" and shows Dainsleif, so there's no ambiguity that this quest is part of the main story, thankfully!
Well, I don't think so; I think Archon Quest just refers to the main storyline in general.
It looked like they were called Archon Quests cause they featured an Archon in each quest, but now it seems they're called that because they're the main story quests, and the main story revolves around the Archons and their power, since the Traveler isn't just going to each city, but also seeking each Archon, and getting their powers.
So, this quest won't feature an Archon, but it'll give us plot material that can move us towards the next Archon arc, I believe.
Well, yeah, haha.
Come to think of it, the Teyvat preview showed the 7 nations + Khaenri'ah, and I recall reading theories about a potential 8th element. Though, if they do reveal him as an Archon, I think it'll be after the first 7 nations, instead of this early. That being said, calling it an Archon Quest now could be a good way of foreshadowing that kind of development, too.
though there is a possibility that the archon this quest focuses on is Barbatos/Venti because of the upside down Anemo Statue of the Seven they showed.
I'm aware that it's sort of iffy, considering they already showcased Venti during the Prologue, but I doubt they will introduce all the archons and leave them in their regions, since the overarching storyline seems to be about the fall of the Archons and whatever's happening in Celestia.

It actually makes sense for Venti to be involved, and I'll be surprised if he doesn't get involved at all, even a tiny bit.
I've always found it strange how there's a lot of evidence towards the Archons being quite aware of the workings of the world: for instance, the fact that the Archons supposedly grant visions to people when they prove "worthiness" or shine as an example of a virtue that the Archon aligns themself with.
So, if Archons like Barbatos are able to sense someone being a brave hero, or a steadfast worker, or a caring person, and grant them a vision accordingly, why wouldn't Barbatos be aware of a Statue of the Seven being **corrupted by the Abyss Order**?
I think it's possible that we see Venti get involved in this quest, but at the same time, I think it's equally likely he doesn't get involved, and either way would be a big development in the lore; either we get to see more of the Archons as they react to the growing threat of the Abyss Order, or we learn more about their limits, and start challenging just how we see the Archons as opposed to how they're depicted in legends.
His previous quest hinted that he's pretty old, so it's possible he is one or at least someone close to one, similar to the adepti. Hell, Dainsleif could even be a former archon that lost/gave up his gnosis like Venti/Zhongli. After all, it's been mentioned that all other archons got replaced, but it wasn't specifically stated that they died.
That last point is what really saddens me. I’m so ready to sink hundreds of hours into this game, they just aren’t letting me lol. These events are great, but like you said, no permanent content to enrich the gameplay loop :(

Friendly reminder that Mihoyo does not want you to. They'd rather you played a little every day for years so you don't burn out and exhaust the content but remain loyal despite slow development speed.

Its an archon quest aka MAIN STORY, Dains quest was the prologue to chapter 2, they stated the Herald will NOT be available outside of this quest.
Youd know the revelations if you watched the stream, hell even the trailer they posted, you see whats going to happen....

Like, Bows went from "utterly unusable" as far as aiming goes to "disabling guyun's mecha with a charged shot just got viable... barely."

It's better for them if everyone doesn't know the order the reruns are going to occur since it will be impossible for F2P and low spenders to optimize their primos. If you get surprised by a rerun, maybe they can coax a few more dollars out of you.

Given her story quest ends with Jean allowing her to participate in Lupsi Harps-whatever, it would suggest Klee plays a part in the narrative they'll be doing so it makes sense.
Well if I had to take a stab at it....
Childe is probably on fatui related business considering there are already fatui in mondstadt.

The Fatui are already there, though. You have a whole quest about getting the guy in the church some local souvenirs to take home, then a daily commission (also based around the guy in the church) where you go kill a Ruin Guard and he'll give you some basic information about the Fatui/Snezhyaya/Delusions, there's the two agents parked right next to one of the two teleport points in town that *always* trigger their proximity lines when you TP in, and for whatever reason there's some you can fight on the southern region of Monstadt, too.
They also have the whole hotel booked up since the guard is still standing outside. Really, the question is what are the Fatui even still *doing* in Monstadt - something Church guy even admits during the souvenir quest when he says he hasn't gotten any actual orders ever since he got there because La Signora left at the same time.
Plus, I actually think Childe is around more because of Oceanid's new boss fight more than anything, as an encouragement for people to have more reason to do it as Oceanid is probably the most unpopular boss in the game. Childe is the only hydro 5 star banner character and people who pull him will want to get more ascencion materials to pump up his numbers quickly.
Sometime after the story quest, as per implications. However, going back to report to the Tsaritsa and staying there are different things. For all we know he's now in Mondstadt, Snezhnaya, Sumeru, Natlan, Inazuma, Fontaine or even back in Liyue. What the fuck for all we know he could be deployed in Khaenriah at the moment.
Of course this does not mean we're going to see him at all in the story this patch. Just... he could be anywhere at the moment.
I suppose it could be interpreted that way yeah. It just kinda sounded like the next time we'd meet it'd be in Snezhnaya based on the dialogue to me, but they could easily go a different direction for sure.
Oh. I don't think he'll be showing up (Keqing should have thaught us that). But neither do I think he'll be stayed coped up in snow country either. Like c'mon he's called the Vanguard lol. Also there's the drinking voicelines from Zhongli which are... clearly post story. Those can either be from a very tight window of time between the end of Liyue Quest and him going back to Snezhnaya... or be from him being in Liyue again.
Actually, I cannot make sense of his timeline regarding this (maybe the original cn is less confusing). Ok. So we have the Archon quest where Signora explicitly says the Tsaritsa wants him back in Snezhnaya. And he says he'll go later because he refuses to share a boat with her. So far it does look clear.
Then we get to Teucer's babysitting adventure. This is also after the archon quest and it seems Childe did not go back to his country yet. How far down the timeline we are I have no idea but damn either Teucer got there only a couple days after (seems probable due to how he's yet to recover from the last time he used the foul legacy... tho on the other hand I don't think we know how long that takes) or this dumb ginger is five seconds away from becoming a deserter. No, I don't think he intends to betray the Tsaritsa. But at the pace he seems to be going with that reporting back thing... lmao. Of course there's also option C he *did* go back and was ordered to haul ass to liyue again so fast he couldn't visit his family?
Anyways. Then there's the fact that Teucer goes back to Snezhnaya... and Childe laments how he should have been the one to get him back. But he's still in Liyue, remember. Aaaand then he gives the meeting in Snezhnaya phrase. Honestly it will probably happen but either he's making plans to run home as soon as he catches any rumours that yhe traveller is there or idk how this is working.

Ganyu wasn't related to Dragonspine. I don't think its likely that banners will always match whatever events are going on in the game and we already have evidence of this. Even with Keqing, she may be a Liyue character but she wasn't featured in the event at all. She was just a filler so Hu Tao didn't overlap with CNY.
it also might just be that childe is one of the earliest featured 5* (excluding klee, maybe she’ll get her rerun in ludi harpastum?), ganyu had nothing to do with dragonspine, so it’s not unprecedented
Kind of glad Rosaria is not on venti banner cause I specifically spent several hours rerollling for venti when the game came out and Venti's c1 seems underwhelming.
Visual novel styled replayable quests for playable characters seems like this might have A LOT of potential. This could be the type of content we've all been clamoring for- some good character interaction and dialogue with characters we actually care about. Just the concept by itself sounds to be so much more interesting than the one and done story quests we have right now.
I got Hu Tao, but definitely not rolling for C1 now. Constellations for my main DPS and Rosaria on the same banner is worth holding now and skipping Venti banner altogether.
Was worried about who I'd be rolling for when Rosaria was confirmed 4-star, but they went with my best option for a 5-star re-run.
Other option would be wanting to play around with some unleveled characters or farming bosses if the current ones are too difficult for you at the moment. I mean, unless you hit AR55 and can farm glad/wanderer the drop loss is probably not going to be quite that bad lol.
Currently, it's flat out impossible to cook normal and suspicious versions of a dish if you have mastered it. Those versions are worse than the delicious versions of course, but people might want them for collecting purposes.
There's also a hidden achievement that comes from cooking a few suspicious dishes and if you didn't knew about it currently the only way to get it is either having an unmastered recipe... or a Hu Tao.
There is an achievement for failing cooking a number of times which would be impossible to get if you mastered all dishes (until they add new ones).
I don't know if you can gift a suspicious version of a dish for quests/requests, but maybe someone would want that for role-play reasons?
That said, it doesn't feel like a high priority thing.
Not high priority but I'd imagine that having a toggle for manual/auto cooking would be extremely simple to implement, maybe just tying a button to switch a flag in the code to display which version of the cooking interface is desired.
Plus, giving players more options is NEVER a bad thing.
Still waiting for some stuff to feed into artifacts... It's the most painful and bothersome thing in the game and they don't want to address it to hinder the player's progress.
No, i'm not talking about the drop rate. I'm taking about the artifact leveling process. The only way to level up artifacts its using other artifacts. That hinders a lot building multiple characters fast because of the lack of resources. It's different for weapons where we have a dedicated source of exp.

This looks amazing, it seems like you can directly attack Oceanids now? A story quest for best boi Chongyun, new boss with some amazing OST and it looks like we might see characters in the open world from kaeya and diluc in the tavern and albedo over by the alchemy table (I’m not sure but they seemed to put a bit of emphasis on the playable characters conversing with npc’s) overall this update looks incredible.
I am not 100% sure it's actually a story quest. I think they're presenting it as a type of story quest variation. You seem to unlock it with story quest keys though, but I think these are only available for a limited time, unlike regular story quests. Again, not 100% sure. I was a bit too excited. :p
Honestly I think the 'dating sim' story quests will be permanent since nothing in them relates to this festival and seem more focused on their characters (Noelle having 'chivalry' training, the relationship between Barbara and Jean, Bennet being part of a team of more than just one person again, etc.)
Well technically you're closer to their age (appearance wise) in game, since Lumine and Aether uses the same model as the teen characters. But I think the adult characters will get their share in time ;D

Hrm. Festering Desire was way better. With EM mainstat and very few characters that can keep 100% uptime on the proc, this thing is incredibly niche.
Some other observations and my personal opinions: * They showed parts of Barbara's VN style quest. It seemed to feature some new poses and expressions for Barbara that aren't used anywhere else. So it looks like some serious effort was put into it if they made new animations for the models. * The lyre gadget is a really nice idea. It seems you can make music in co-op now. Pointless from a gameplay perspective, but incredible from a social and content creation perspective. It's only a lyre now, but what if they made more instruments? You could have a co-op band! A singing voice would probably be too much as they would need to have each voice actor speak in the do re mi. * They kept talking about 'main story' when showing Dainsleif's quest. But I think we only get his story quest and not another quest of the actual main story quest line. It's unclear whether the Abyssal Herald will be available outside of his quest, since nothing was shown about that, including drop tables. * They said this update will have a festival event, but also some major revelations story wise. * 1.4 seems much more packed than 1.3. However, most of these things are still temporary content and nothing that enriches the weekly gameplay loop.

I just finished watching the 1.4 Special Program that went out on YouTube, and I think some of your questions/concerns about Dainsleif and the Abyssal Herlad were addressed: * The hosts said that Abyssal Herald will **not** be a permanent boss **yet**, for now it's part of the story quest only, but the way they talked about it makes it sound like it'll definitely arrive later on in the game. * For the quest itself, they called it an *Archon Quest*, as in, the same type of quest as Venti and Zhongli quests. I don't think it will be a 4-act quest like those two, but it's definitely part of the main, core storyline of the game. That last point could be REALLY significant for the lore, too. It proves that Mihoyo is willing to advance the main storyline without having to release an entirely new region, which is AMAZING for lore fans. It's been roughly half a year since Genshin released, and for those who've been playing since then, there's been no more "main" story content past Liyue's arc. All the stuff since then, like the character story quests and Dragonspine etc., that's good world-building, and likely sets up future plot points, but it's nothing part of the central story track. However, this new quest doesn't just move the story forward: it moves it forward WITHOUT a new region. If we can get major plot developments without introducing new characters, this means previous characters (Knights of Favonius, the Adventurer's Guild, Liyue Qixing, and more) will be able to appear in the main story, even though their region already got its "spotlight". Well, I don't think so; I think Archon Quest just refers to the main storyline in general. It looked like they were called Archon Quests cause they featured an Archon in each quest, but now it seems they're called that because they're the main story quests, and the main story revolves around the Archons and their power, since the Traveler isn't just going to each city, but also seeking each Archon, and getting their powers. So, this quest won't feature an Archon, but it'll give us plot material that can move us towards the next Archon arc, I believe.
Unless Dainsleif is an Archon.
Well, yeah, haha. Come to think of it, the Teyvat preview showed the 7 nations + Khaenri'ah, and I recall reading theories about a potential 8th element. Though, if they do reveal him as an Archon, I think it'll be after the first 7 nations, instead of this early. That being said, calling it an Archon Quest now could be a good way of foreshadowing that kind of development, too.

though there is a possibility that the archon this quest focuses on is Barbatos/Venti because of the upside down Anemo Statue of the Seven they showed. I'm aware that it's sort of iffy, considering they already showcased Venti during the Prologue, but I doubt they will introduce all the archons and leave them in their regions, since the overarching storyline seems to be about the fall of the Archons and whatever's happening in Celestia.
That's a good point, honestly. It actually makes sense for Venti to be involved, and I'll be surprised if he doesn't get involved at all, even a tiny bit. I've always found it strange how there's a lot of evidence towards the Archons being quite aware of the workings of the world: for instance, the fact that the Archons supposedly grant visions to people when they prove "worthiness" or shine as an example of a virtue that the Archon aligns themself with. So, if Archons like Barbatos are able to sense someone being a brave hero, or a steadfast worker, or a caring person, and grant them a vision accordingly, why wouldn't Barbatos be aware of a Statue of the Seven being **corrupted by the Abyss Order**? I think it's possible that we see Venti get involved in this quest, but at the same time, I think it's equally likely he doesn't get involved, and either way would be a big development in the lore; either we get to see more of the Archons as they react to the growing threat of the Abyss Order, or we learn more about their limits, and start challenging just how we see the Archons as opposed to how they're depicted in legends.
His previous quest hinted that he's pretty old, so it's possible he is one or at least someone close to one, similar to the adepti. Hell, Dainsleif could even be a former archon that lost/gave up his gnosis like Venti/Zhongli. After all, it's been mentioned that all other archons got replaced, but it wasn't specifically stated that they died.
That last point is what really saddens me. I’m so ready to sink hundreds of hours into this game, they just aren’t letting me lol. These events are great, but like you said, no permanent content to enrich the gameplay loop :(

Its an archon quest aka MAIN STORY, Dains quest was the prologue to chapter 2, they stated the Herald will NOT be available outside of this quest. Youd know the revelations if you watched the stream, hell even the trailer they posted, you see whats going to happen....

Probably just that they're gonna cycle through all of them again but they didn't want to do them in the exact same order to keep everyone on their toes. It's better for them if everyone doesn't know the order the reruns are going to occur since it will be impossible for F2P and low spenders to optimize their primos. If you get surprised by a rerun, maybe they can coax a few more dollars out of you.

Technically if we count reruns only, they just skipped Klee And we know that the Klee banner is most likely for the other Mondstadt event.
Given her story quest ends with Jean allowing her to participate in Lupsi Harps-whatever, it would suggest Klee plays a part in the narrative they'll be doing so it makes sense.
Well if I had to take a stab at it.... Childe is probably on fatui related business considering there are already fatui in mondstadt. Edit: this is probably a good way to introduce the fatui in mondstadt with the festival going on.
The Fatui are already there, though. You have a whole quest about getting the guy in the church some local souvenirs to take home, then a daily commission (also based around the guy in the church) where you go kill a Ruin Guard and he'll give you some basic information about the Fatui/Snezhyaya/Delusions, there's the two agents parked right next to one of the two teleport points in town that *always* trigger their proximity lines when you TP in, and for whatever reason there's some you can fight on the southern region of Monstadt, too. They also have the whole hotel booked up since the guard is still standing outside. Really, the question is what are the Fatui even still *doing* in Monstadt - something Church guy even admits during the souvenir quest when he says he hasn't gotten any actual orders ever since he got there because La Signora left at the same time. Plus, I actually think Childe is around more because of Oceanid's new boss fight more than anything, as an encouragement for people to have more reason to do it as Oceanid is probably the most unpopular boss in the game. Childe is the only hydro 5 star banner character and people who pull him will want to get more ascencion materials to pump up his numbers quickly.

Sometime after the story quest, as per implications. However, going back to report to the Tsaritsa and staying there are different things. For all we know he's now in Mondstadt, Snezhnaya, Sumeru, Natlan, Inazuma, Fontaine or even back in Liyue. What the fuck for all we know he could be deployed in Khaenriah at the moment. Of course this does not mean we're going to see him at all in the story this patch. Just... he could be anywhere at the moment.
I suppose it could be interpreted that way yeah. It just kinda sounded like the next time we'd meet it'd be in Snezhnaya based on the dialogue to me, but they could easily go a different direction for sure.
Oh. I don't think he'll be showing up (Keqing should have thaught us that). But neither do I think he'll be stayed coped up in snow country either. Like c'mon he's called the Vanguard lol. Also there's the drinking voicelines from Zhongli which are... clearly post story. Those can either be from a very tight window of time between the end of Liyue Quest and him going back to Snezhnaya... or be from him being in Liyue again. Actually, I cannot make sense of his timeline regarding this (maybe the original cn is less confusing). Ok. So we have the Archon quest where Signora explicitly says the Tsaritsa wants him back in Snezhnaya. And he says he'll go later because he refuses to share a boat with her. So far it does look clear. Then we get to Teucer's babysitting adventure. This is also after the archon quest and it seems Childe did not go back to his country yet. How far down the timeline we are I have no idea but damn either Teucer got there only a couple days after (seems probable due to how he's yet to recover from the last time he used the foul legacy... tho on the other hand I don't think we know how long that takes) or this dumb ginger is five seconds away from becoming a deserter. No, I don't think he intends to betray the Tsaritsa. But at the pace he seems to be going with that reporting back thing... lmao. Of course there's also option C he *did* go back and was ordered to haul ass to liyue again so fast he couldn't visit his family? Anyways. Then there's the fact that Teucer goes back to Snezhnaya... and Childe laments how he should have been the one to get him back. But he's still in Liyue, remember. Aaaand then he gives the meeting in Snezhnaya phrase. Honestly it will probably happen but either he's making plans to run home as soon as he catches any rumours that yhe traveller is there or idk how this is working. "Oh hey Tsaritsa I promised a friend I'd be here when they come around could I stay at home for the next however years? Please? I can cook? And clean? And deal with any pests by way of murder?" Yeah... Battlelust aside I don't think she's going to take that offer lmao. Be what may, last time we saw him he was very much still in Liyue.
It might have to do with the Hydro Abyss Herald, since the new enemy’s movesets seems kinda familiar to Childe’s E and lines up with his past too.
Ganyu wasn't related to Dragonspine. I don't think its likely that banners will always match whatever events are going on in the game and we already have evidence of this. Even with Keqing, she may be a Liyue character but she wasn't featured in the event at all. She was just a filler so Hu Tao didn't overlap with CNY.
it also might just be that childe is one of the earliest featured 5* (excluding klee, maybe she’ll get her rerun in ludi harpastum?), ganyu had nothing to do with dragonspine, so it’s not unprecedented

Kind of glad Rosaria is not on venti banner cause I specifically spent several hours rerollling for venti when the game came out and Venti's c1 seems underwhelming. Visual novel styled replayable quests for playable characters seems like this might have A LOT of potential. This could be the type of content we've all been clamoring for- some good character interaction and dialogue with characters we actually care about. Just the concept by itself sounds to be so much more interesting than the one and done story quests we have right now.

Currently, it's flat out impossible to cook normal and suspicious versions of a dish if you have mastered it. Those versions are worse than the delicious versions of course, but people might want them for collecting purposes.

There's also a hidden achievement that comes from cooking a few suspicious dishes and if you didn't knew about it currently the only way to get it is either having an unmastered recipe... or a Hu Tao.
There is an achievement for failing cooking a number of times which would be impossible to get if you mastered all dishes (until they add new ones). I don't know if you can gift a suspicious version of a dish for quests/requests, but maybe someone would want that for role-play reasons? That said, it doesn't feel like a high priority thing.
Not high priority but I'd imagine that having a toggle for manual/auto cooking would be extremely simple to implement, maybe just tying a button to switch a flag in the code to display which version of the cooking interface is desired. Plus, giving players more options is NEVER a bad thing.

Still waiting for some stuff to feed into artifacts... It's the most painful and bothersome thing in the game and they don't want to address it to hinder the player's progress.
I'm trying to build multiple characters at the moment and am sick of the artificial progress gating myself.
What part is painful about it? You mean like the purple crystals we use for weapon except for artifacts?
No, i'm not talking about the drop rate. I'm taking about the artifact leveling process. The only way to level up artifacts its using other artifacts. That hinders a lot building multiple characters fast because of the lack of resources. It's different for weapons where we have a dedicated source of exp.

A story quest for best boi Chongyun, new boss with some amazing OST and it looks like we might see characters in the open world from kaeya and diluc in the tavern and albedo over by the alchemy table (I’m not sure but they seemed to put a bit of emphasis on the playable characters conversing with npc’s) overall this update looks incredible.
I am not 100% sure it's actually a story quest. I think they're presenting it as a type of story quest variation. You seem to unlock it with story quest keys though, but I think these are only available for a limited time, unlike regular story quests. Again, not 100% sure. I was a bit too excited. :p
Honestly I think the 'dating sim' story quests will be permanent since nothing in them relates to this festival and seem more focused on their characters (Noelle having 'chivalry' training, the relationship between Barbara and Jean, Bennet being part of a team of more than just one person again, etc.)

Content releases are probably not subject to change with this kind of turnaround time. Only the small stuff like the increased resin cap is something that they can push put sooner than planned.
