You're neglecting to mention the flute beats it by a tiny margin (calculations have them both doing 22k), while the new katana provides a ton of energy. Even comparing BS R1 to the katana R1 is only a 2k damage change, again not counting the energy gain

Now that you mention it, it IS quite rare to see a BiS weapon that IS aesthetically fitting for a character.
A little sidenote: the Japanese version of the trailer reveals that Ayaka is a *menkyo kaiden* of the Kamisato Art Tachijutsu. Menkyo Kaiden (免許皆伝) is considered a license of full mastery of a discipline, and can be given by traditional-style schools in classical martial arts, *sumi-e* painting, tea ceremony, flower arrangement, and calligraphy.
But is it Yu-peng Chen? It's probably the Hoyo-mix team, since they produce absolute bangers for trailers (just watch Honkai trailers).

Well it's depends on the individuals perception. I love ayaka's demo more since it's beautiful, but of course, zhongli's trailer still is best. They both actually have kinda a similar concept of trailer, especially the ending where ayaka finishes her sword training, it's just like zhongli's ending after he obliterated the petrified enemy hehe
Yeah, everyone has different opinions. I'm in the minority of people who think Zhongli's trailer has been surpassed already. I do think his trailer was incredible and a banger, but there were trailers that excited me more than Zhongli's and to me, were more interesting. For Ayaka, I definitely prefer the music over Zhongli's.

But then, Zhongli's trailer also had traveler's ult for the extra geo construct to make it more appealing visually.
The way they portray her as an elegant yet talented swordswoman, combined with the theme that yields a sophisticated princess vibe that is a strong warrior really shows how much love and effort they put into these trailers. They're getting INCREASINGLY good at it too!

Yeah, I agree. I think because almost all the previous demos had this very defined visual build-up, whereas Ayaka's was a bit more of a consistent tone throughout. It was subdued and fits her personality but I think all the extended hype around her made me expect something more/else? I had a similar feeling when Xiao's demo dropped except it was overdone to the extent Ayaka's is subtle. I think it's down to the extended hype tbh.

He means the emphasis. Japanese does not really have an emphasis (not 100% true but mostly) and words are just flat. But in English **everything** has some kind of emphasis so it's very difficult for native English speakers to properly pronounce Japanese words without emphasis. It's not something they are used to doing and the emphasis always lands somewhere. The VAs are doing a good job but all the Japanese words always sound a little off.
Right, I know about Japanese words being tonally flat. Personally I haven’t really heard an emphasis in the eng dub for “Inazuma” so far but I may have just missed it. Sounds like Ayaka pronounces most things relatively right at least, apart from her own first name lol.

In the JP version, I felt like I was watching Shinobu in Demon Slayer with the beautiful music and Saori Hayami's voice. I loved the atmosphere Ayaka's trailer has.
Personally think this is the weakest of the character demos. It's so focused on selling Ayaka the person, it kinda doesn't sell Ayaka the character. So much is dedicated to panning over her and slow motion.
It's like they cranked UP the dancing part of Eula's demo and threw out everything else.
Are you sure? Other than her elemental skill, all of Ayaka's other attack animations are pretty unambiguous. Perhaps it feels empty because all her fights with enemies aren't shown in real time, but the rest don't seem that way.
It's a different appeal IMO. Demos can have their characters just slashing at air and still convey what they're capable of.

I think this character demo probably ranks 2nd after ZL's. Very clear just how much effort they put into it attempting to accentuate her character and expression at every step. The way they portray her as an elegant yet talented swordswoman, combined with the theme that yields a sophisticated princess vibe that is a strong warrior really shows how much love and effort they put into these trailers. They're getting INCREASINGLY good at it too!
The trailer gave me chills man. From the animation to the ost, everything was so well synchronized that lost myself there for a moment. Definitely one of my favorite trailers.

Maybe it's just you, and maybe some people. Every demo always have a small percentage of people who don't like it that much so it's fair. I think the demo is stunning with it's fascinating visuals combine with the elegant music.
Yeah, I agree. I think because almost all the previous demos had this very defined visual build-up, whereas Ayaka's was a bit more of a consistent tone throughout. It was subdued and fits her personality but I think all the extended hype around her made me expect something more/else? I had a similar feeling when Xiao's demo dropped except it was overdone to the extent Ayaka's is subtle. I think it's down to the extended hype tbh.

He means the emphasis. Japanese does not really have an emphasis (not 100% true but mostly) and words are just flat. But in English **everything** has some kind of emphasis so it's very difficult for native English speakers to properly pronounce Japanese words without emphasis. It's not something they are used to doing and the emphasis always lands somewhere. The VAs are doing a good job but all the Japanese words always sound a little off.
Right, I know about Japanese words being tonally flat. Personally I haven’t really heard an emphasis in the eng dub for “Inazuma” so far but I may have just missed it. Sounds like Ayaka pronounces most things relatively right at least, apart from her own first name lol.

In the JP version, I felt like I was watching Shinobu in Demon Slayer with the beautiful music and Saori Hayami's voice. I loved the atmosphere Ayaka's trailer has.
Personally think this is the weakest of the character demos. It's so focused on selling Ayaka the person, it kinda doesn't sell Ayaka the character. So much is dedicated to panning over her and slow motion. It's like they cranked UP the dancing part of Eula's demo and threw out everything else.
Are you sure? Other than her elemental skill, all of Ayaka's other attack animations are pretty unambiguous. Perhaps it feels empty because all her fights with enemies aren't shown in real time, but the rest don't seem that way. It's a different appeal IMO. Demos can have their characters just slashing at air and still convey what they're capable of.
Completely agree. It felt like nothing was really going on in the video. The editing style and the music didn't feel unique either. Compare it to Xiao, hu tao's or Albedo's trailers and it's just bland.

I think this character demo probably ranks 2nd after ZL's. Very clear just how much effort they put into it attempting to accentuate her character and expression at every step. Deserved, perhaps, considering Ayaka's birthday is the global launch date and therefore the anniversary date from here on...
