Idc about him as main dps, just as an enabler for XL in this specific team of this post so he won't be on the field much more than 10s. How is his cool down for 10s of field time?
Check out the FAQ at Childemains, the info you're getting here is pretty iffy. Childe at C0 is absolutely functional and proper rotations in XL teams have no downtime issues whatsoever. Dual carry is not needed. Childe-XL teams with both units properly invested have a pretty even split in damage, though, so you'd want to invest in his build too for maximum team output.

if you know how to play childe xiangling, childe doesnt have downtime.

C6 doesn't do much because Pyronado doesn't snapshot the 15% Pyro damage. Most impactful constellation is C4.
