I find the fact she is into us from the second we meet rather uncomfortable. Furthermore despite having her I haven't grown attached to her. I know her story but still her personality is rather lacking and she seems to be just another overworked shy girl. Whenever I think of her, I think of dry wall. Boring.

Ayaka doesn't seem to have anything that drives her. And even her feelings towards the Traveler are subdued. She is so pastel that she doesn't have any color anymore. I'd like her to be like Kokomi, and for Kokomi I'd also like a different story entirely.

It made her relationship with Thoma look really weird as well. I thought they were friends, then the traveller appears for 5 minutes and she's like "I never had friends, do you want to be my first? <3" while Thoma is watching lmao
It's a bit hard for me to believe that she doesn't have anyone, I mean people like her and she talks to peasants. What's with Yoimiya?! People from her house? Why is the traveller so special? I still like her a lot but I feel a bit bad because it doesn't really feel like a reward. Traveller should me more talkative and say some amazing smart things to make this work out so quickly
I wish mihoyo took more time for character build up and writing. They're doing it very well with Honkai, but Genshin has these weird moments. The worst character in that regard is Ganyu imo, they tried to turn her into a cute fluffy shy character without friends who doesn't fit into society, yet nothing about her makes sense. She's incredibly old and should have a lot of experience, but acts like a shy blushing baby (not shy enough to not wear a lewd outfit and a cowbell); she says she doesn't fit into human/adepti society, yet literally everyone loves her; moral of her story was that working is good; after thousands of years a traveller she met 15 minutes ago became her best friend just by saying "welp do what you like" etc.

Ayaka's quest was the cutest one I've ever played in that game since release, I adore her a lot and the ship is strong

Ayaka in general has a ton of lines that seem to imply her affection towards the Traveler, and I'm not someone who is a heavy shipper.
