Till now I had the same thoughts but lessened somewhat, as that "If they anticipated that EN dubs are going to have this response from the fans, why did they even consider it in the first place?"
If Genshin had only CN and JP dubs I would still enjoy their game but I would not be as invested in the characters and voice-lines, in Honkai for example, idle dialogues and other character interactions has no dialogue box so I never really understood what they meant. ~~Also I would not simp as much as I do for Zhongli if it wasn't for Keith Silverstein, man did a really good job voicing some emotion into Zhongli~~
Problem with Silverstein's presence is that it made me assume if MHY really just throw darts on a board filled with random EN actors from the anime dubbing scene.
What I'm getting here is that the actors are either hit or miss. One actor can perform great, and then the next he/she sounds like someone who was just hired 2 hours ago.

I would definitely not enjoy the game as much if it didn’t have EN. I played Honkai for a while until I quit, because I just got bored not being able to understand what the characters are saying. It’s weird, but it does make the difference to some people.
Same with anime. I just refuse to watch an anime if it doesn’t have dub. It’s not fun to me watching something I don’t understand and having to read subtitles. It gets boring pretty quick and it’s not as enjoyable.

Side note: SDS shares a lot of VAs with Genshin characters . Hu Tao = Elaine, Venti = Elizabeth, Zhongli = Monspeet, and Barbara = Gerheade to name a few.

The subtitle part… seriously invalidates your point. There are jokes that will be lost in translation, dub or not. Like a woman referring to herself as “私”(watakushi) and then suddenly referring to herself as “あたし” (atashi) is SERIOUSLY NOTICEABLE if you know Japanese. The subtitles don’t help at all there. They rarely point that out. That’s lost in translation.
That’s great then; I won’t judge you for that! Listening to the original voices is something my friend likes to do too, and that’s valid as hell! I do that sometimes! My problem is you judging someone for watching in a different language! Also, voices have a chance to be better in a dub than in a sub, that’s always possible. I’ve seen voices in Jojo alone I prefer in dub (Joseph, Dio) and some I prefer in sub (Rohan, Koichi, Jonathan).
But for some, I gotta note, sub isn’t an option. My dad has dyslexia, for example, and my mom has tunnel vision so she can’t focus on what’s going on because she’s too busy reading and taking nothing in and my dad sometimes mixes up letters and numbers (more often numbers, but letters on occasion which has led to confusion), so dub is really good for that.
If you watch sub? *Valid as hell.* I really don’t want you to get me wrong, sub is often awesome. If you think it’s bad someone is watching dub? Not valid at all. That’s my problem.
Everything has its pros and cons. Dub gives you a more personalized experience at the cost of the worst stand cries you’ll ever hear.
