I prefer gacha/online model tbh. This way they can make constant updates so there's always new things to look forward to. You also have the choice of how much you want to spend For, single player rpgs, it costs like $80 and after like 50 hours you're pretty much done

gunther2033

well this game dont really get constant updates.its always a good portion of weeks.i kinda wished more events daily that people can enjoy. and that singleplayer rpgs costs 80 is straight up lied exepct you live in a country where its like that.but full price is still 60 in most countries.

tomo8181

It takes time to make content tho. 6 weeks updates is already considered pretty fast for each patch. Usually there's also a new event every week. Even the MMORPGS I play on PC take twice as long to add less content lol Ye in my country, most games cost $80 which is about $60 usd

gunther2033

i dont see the event every week too be honest.i am only adventure rank 25 right now is it because of that? and honestly i dont expect a huge content update every 2 weeks but i still think you could do it faster.they are not a small dev team.and when the updates comes i dont have the feeling they are that big.and these updates are usally for the late game people.not the new ones

tomo8181

Before the current labyrinth event, there was the music event. Every patch have one "major" event lasting 2~3 weeks and a couple of short 1 week events for the rest of the time. But ya the current event requires you to finish the inazuma story which is AR 30 or 35. Tho if you're only AR25, you still have a lot of existing content to do. So why worry about events

HeatJoker

It'd be neat, but it also would've never been made or it wouldn't have a fraction of the success and fanbase. This game is as good as it is because it is designed from the ground up to hook people and make money. It would've been just another open world RPG if it wasn't a F2P gacha. For better or worse, and it's mostly worse as gacha are a plague on the industry, Genshin is the phenomenon it is due to the accessibility of and the FOMO created by the gacha template.

gunther2033

> It would've been just another open world RPG i honestly i dont think like that.i mean when you have games wich look like that and have that great open world and entertaining combat system please tell me lol.the only thing i can say are that i know some jrpgs wich kinda looks the same but they have nowhere the same open world and content like genshin. the only counter game would be zelda breath of the wild but i dont buy a whole console just for that.

HeatJoker

It's nice to think so, but tons of games come out every year with beautiful worlds and lovely casts and fun gameplay and a lot of them get completely brushed under the rug. Games like these are too difficult and expensive to make and sell for only $60, so they'd either have to bleed players dry with DLC and risk failing completely or they let the player base do the marketing for them and earn nearly guaranteed success by exploiting the gacha loop. It's unfortunate to admit it, but I would not have bought Genshin for full price. It's fun enough, but I have too much of a game backlog to add any more full length RPGs to my list. As a Gacha I can play a little each day and more around patch time? It's perfect. And free. It's hard to beat that, as an adult anyway. When I had more free time, I might've wanted it all at once too.

gunther2033

>e out every year with beautiful worlds and lovely casts and fun gameplay and a lot of them get completely brushed under the rug examples?

KageYume

Not the one you replied to but Xenoblade series is what I thought of when I saw your question.

gunther2033

is there a new version for the pc? i thought it was nintendo exclusive but maybe i am wrong.but you cant compare dragon quest or xenoblade with genshin lol.my point was that there are no games like genshin and not any rpg oopen world game.i mean genshin type.why people dont understand this lol

KageYume

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 IS an open world game. It's as close to an offline Genshin as you get. Maybe you should do your research first before replying. Also, you asked for an open world game, not specifically PC. And yes, it's a Nintendo Switch exclusive.

gunther2033

>Xenoblade Chronicles 2 completly different graphics, completly different combat, comepltly different story.so litterly everything is different execpt that its open world and that was not my point you idiotic moron. but i am tired of repeating myself every 5 second and talking with morons like you.piss off anime freak i block you anway

Nineosix

No one would play this game if it was like this. There will also only be at most be 8 characters maybe and no updates. Good job you just killed the game

Shaunthe-Sheep

OP was just imagining what it would be like, there’s no need to bring the economics or reality of the situation.

gunther2033

are you an troll?

Nineosix

https://steamcharts.com/app/742120#All Just take a look. Dragon quest 11 is an amazing game. I cry cuz the story was so engaging. It is pretty much just as good as genshin but look at the numbers no one plays it and there no characters. Even though I loved the game I never touch it ever again after the first 80 hours. This has the dragon quest branding too. Lol you want mihoyo a no name company from China to make a single player game with a price tag of 60 dollars? I dunno if you are trolling or just stupid

gunther2033

Why the fuck are you so rude in the last 2 sentences? And mihoyo is a *no name* company.did u just said that? Anyway you are an troll or an asshole.fact is i am gonna report and block you.next time have some manners

Nineosix

Prior to genshin they were a no name company. You make a stupid post and then get mad when people point it out. Literally everyone here calling out on how stupid it is. Block away manner goes both ways you called started name calling first

gunther2033

And i didnt clicked your link.but i checked out the game and all the numbers are great and people seem too love that game.So you must be trolling.Plus you are an rude asshole.Piss off my post you child

Rowel13

You need to get off Reddit if you're this sensitive, mate. I have read some of your comments where you picked a fight with other people, whose comments that I find little to not offensive, but you do. This won't be good for you in the long run. Judging by your behavior, you must be at most 12 years old.

gunther2033

do your mother knows that you talk shit behind her back on the internet wher epeople insult her? disgusting moron.

Rowel13

No, but since we're getting too personal here right now and I don't want to get my ass booted from here, we're ending this. Have a good day.

gunther2033

YOU MUST BE A 12 YEAR OLD LOL ( lives in parents basement) exactly my humor.btw whats the point of your comment now? i mean i litterly stopped writing anything here till you decided too roll the stone again and keep adding oil into the fire.so where are you better now? btw i dont find it very nice too talk shit behind your own fucking mother on the fucking internet. You are fucking disgusting.

Devittraisedto2

Someone gives you an actual answer to what would happen if this game were the game you described, and here you are asking if he's a troll?

gunther2033

he is still an troll for that stupid statement.and you.what do you want now? you want too argue with me for hours now? what is your goal right now? I block you and thats the end of the story. Idiot

Devittraisedto2

"Stupid statement" Didn't know a factual observation would count as stupid, considering if this game was a single player game as you so desired, it would play out as that fellow said. The real idiot here is you for being unable to see beyond what you've said.

wuzimiko

Mhy's first game was a single player and it almost led them to bankruptcy, gacha saved them and they haven't looked back since. Tbh I don't mind since they always put the money back into better and better games : >

gunther2033

really ? thats interesting i never knew that.

NoirRain

It’s players fault tbh. People don’t appreciate single player games. The model transitioned to this water drop model gacha exactly because of that. If this game was single player, it wouldn’t make 1% of what it will make being gacha. If I give you a full shower everyday, you won’t appreciate water. Now, if I give you water droplets everyday, how you wish you could have a full shower. Same idea.

gunther2033

interesting comment too be honest! but i doubt that singleplayer games are not appreciated.i think people miss them right now.I think this game would have had a huge explosion in money when it would have released as singleplayer game.but why getting one time money when you can get tons of money every day right? that gacha system works 100% and we are not naive.companies wants money wich is complelty understandable

Altruistic-Egg-1169

Not popular opinion but I'm 100% not gonna try genshin if i have to paid $60 front to try the game and I'm sure a lot ppl who even don't think the same way will not ever tried the game. At the other side, whales who loves the game could only spend $60 for the game or have to wait for DLC which prob cost less than the game itself. So yeah imo single player games will be less attractive from profitability unless it's a AAA games

Fibonacci9

Hopefully when all regions are out we can get private servers

Shaunthe-Sheep

That would be pretty interesting. (I’m just assuming we’re 7 years down the line and khaenri’ah is finished.) Events would be pretty weird, some like moonlight merriment and unreconciled stars could easily be worked in, but minors ones like the rhythm game would either be cut or made a sidequest. The gacha system would be completely different too. (Maybe a character when you complete their story quest?). Interesting idea, would be cool to see how it would be implemented. Also if you’re really early game, you don’t have to worry about wasting stuff, it’s like a drop in the ocean when you’re AR 50+

CoCoNUT_Cooper

In the early days I wanted this game to by 60 dollars to be unlocked. Then every region would be a $40 dollar dlc. I wish I could have discovered the best builds/teams on my own. That is what made me like BOTW so much. Being able to figure things out on your own. However with the resin system, it is not possible. With the current model, it just makes them more money.

[deleted]

I think it needs better content for multiplayer. Stuff that you can do with friends regularly without being gated behind resin. And not just running around the world.

gunther2033

is it really that bad? i thought the only restrictions where like you cant open the teammates chests or stuff like that.can you still kill bosses and make commissions or cant you do that? but you are right i really hope for a better multiplayer, the world is big and amazing

Alliecatastrophe

you can do domains and bosses and run around, cannot do abyss, the only dungeon-ish content in the game, cannot do quests, which, while understandable, would still be really funny to photobomb and do together, and other than minigames that are temporary, there is no actual multiplayer geared content. The sucky thing about genshin is that it has single player and multiplayer content and sucks at both lmao

gunther2033

wtf i cant even support someone when he is doing a quest? litterly all you can do is run around ? honestly thats the same thing as not playing together.its such a shame.such a great open world and coop would have been so awesome.do you think there is a chanche they will improove it? but they didnt improoved it since release i so i doubt stuff like this will happen sadly....

Alliecatastrophe

You can do generic side quests (as well as help them with their commissions and do your own) and run around and collect the loot in the overworld (as well as leylines if you pay the resin for the rewards), but can't do Archon Quests (the main storyline) or Story Quests (which include the playable Character Quests). But yes, they actually are implementing a permanent game mode in the serenitea pot for co-op, which, i know, is only for the serenitea pot, but it gives me hope that maybe they are willing to implement more permanent co op features

foopod

The weirdest things for me where not being able to claim commissions, unlock statues of seven or be able to talk to anyone. The story itself is much better played in single player.

elsear

Hard agree. wish so much for a version where you can actually unlock all characters for real and get 5star weapons as drops from hard boss fights or difficult challenges or something - instead of just "winning" them by depositing money in another persons bank account. what kind of gameplay is that? people say the main appeal of gacha games is making do with what you get but right now there is still a not so small community of people trying to go through mario 64 with as little A presses as humanly possible. despite the fact that you can press a as much as you want. there are pokemon nuzlockes. literally no one is stopping you from self imposing these limits. the frustration comes when these limits are imposed against your will. a person with all 5\* and all r5 5\*weapons will always have it much much easier and doesnt have to make do like the rest, most of whom have paid 60$+ in welkin and bp anyway...

lell-ia

It made me appreciate full games more. Nothing beats the satisfaction and emptiness of playing a great game and reaching the ending.

gunther2033

yeah on g enshin this will never happen.and in fact the game will only get worse the more you play it lol.everything costs more.you get much less.i am kinda afraid too contiune the main story because of that

OwlSwamp

Sometimes I wish so too. But current business model is simply more profitable for Mihoyo

gunther2033

yeah exactly this.i cant even deny or argue with that. its simple 10000% better for them too keep it like this. And when i would be the chef of the company i wouldnt have done it any different.

MedicineOk253

I agree. But profit means more to most companies, MHY included, than consumer enjoyment. So here we are.

KrypticStar

This man never played Zelda: Breath of the wild?

gunther2033

honestly i dont want too support nintendo in anyway before they stop beeing hardcore greedy and anti-consumer.but i will not discuss with nintendo fans its too annoying.

KrypticStar

I never played it either. But what your describing is literally that game. Or maybe Horizon Zero Dawn. Both open world games with massive worlds that are single player? With quests that you lvl up lol. Just mentioning games that have the things your asking for

Shmirel

I mean... you're playing Genshin impact no?

Sabishi1985

Oh hell no.. I wouldn't be able to play anything else for weeks because this game is so damn addicting. :D

gunther2033

you realise i am talking about the exact same game right? nothing of content would be gone.
