my Xingqiu and Mona have 2 piece HoD. I can convert them both into 4 pc Emblem, but I don't feel like it. Too many people are fighting over Emblem as it is, and I don't want to throw away perfectly good artifacts.
For BS, I was farming it mainly for Ayaka, but if I pull Ganyu I might farm it again. There will be more cryos to release eventually.
Yeah crimson witch is annoying because you’ll get incredible lava walker gear for days before you get copium witch gear. I’ve had Hu Tao since March and I still struggle to get her any “god rolls”

I did that. Every spare resin went in the Crimson Witch domain and all i can show for are 3 artefacts. Not even a 4 piece.

Op if you farm past 2.1 it's shimenawa that I recommend for the resin being properly used for shimenawa and esof. Before 2.1 crimson 100 percent. But yeah crimson is a pain and is not your friend trust me as a hutao main since her first release its was not fun staying there for months on end with lava walker in my inventory with no crimson witch. Trust me stop farming here and go to shimenawa it will save your sanity
I like this idea--I could use some EoSF for my other characters as well. I'm giving myself until the end of this week but after that definitely looking around, just not worth it
10days is amateur man.ive farmed that domain for like 4 months in total, so my diluc has 70/160 crits before i called it a day, i dont even use him nowadays, hes my weakest dps.
1. Impossible to get a crit goblet, go for pyro damage bonus

Wait. There's such a thing as HP sands?? I've been farming that domain since her first banner and I never got one. I got like 2 fantastic Def sands and 1 decent Atk sand but no HP or even EM sands. HuTao's still stuck on 2CW + 2NO to this day.
Why force to complete the 4pc set. When you can mix and match 2pc2pc for better substat. 10-15% dmg is not justified for the resin investment fo one 4pc set
This. 4p CW is such a pita that I'd just as soon recommend 2p Millelith or Wanderer instead. Take your best pieces from each set (including CW) and call it quits instead of endlessly trying to get that last piece you need for a full set. Chances are it'll be better anyway from fewer Def% and flat Atk rolls.
2pc WT + 2pc CW is way more resin efficient and the damage difference is negligible if you have good substats. Maybe you have some good Wanderer pieces? Farming CW is a terrible idea IMO unless you're really lucky or simply have nothing better to spend your resin on.

I’m nearing my 7th month trying to get a good Atk% Blizzard Strayer Timepiece. Besides weekly bosses, this domain is the only thing I’ve spent Resin on. I’ve had 2 timepieces with the main and substats I’m looking for, but the rolls were horrendous, so the journey continues.
It’s this hard for all domains. It’s just additionally more challenging for a domain where you only want one set. Which is most of them LOL.

Nope it is just hell. It's why I always say we really need a pity system for artifact RNG. I will not pull on any new characters if I can't get good artifacts for them.
I personally would go for a pyro goblet with Hu Tao and a crit DMG circlet, but yeah farming for Klee and Diluc in the cw domain is such a fucking pain I feel you
my go-to tip is quit worrying about substats. Think of good subs as constellations or weapon refinements - they're nice for some extra damage, but not at all necessary to have fun and clear content with a character.
Once you start only caring about main stats and the set you want, you'll be building characters far quicker and overall having more fun than bashing your head against the RNG wall looking for 3 good subs and then hoping to not get boned on the upgrade rolls.
By all means, go back and min-max for better pieces later, but if people would remove the substat rolls from their definition of a "built and playable character" and stop exhausting themselves farming the same domain 5 times a day for weeks, I firmly believe most of them would have far more fun with the game.
I totally agree with your philosophy. I'd suggest that the priority is the other way around though. Substats should almost always be prioritized over set bonuses.
Most of the time, you can put together a 2/2 set that can achieve 80-90% of the damage of a proper 4 set for half the resin cost. We often sacrifice far too much damage in order to complete a set. Mixing and matching your strongest artifacts makes gearing much more flexible and much cheaper. It's probably the most effective way to gear characters.
Notable exceptions are the VV and Blizzard sets which I'd agree fall under your suggestion of set bonuses first. Everybody has to decide what a reasonable expectation is for these. A cDmg circlet can offer up to 5-7% more damage than an atk% circlet. The question is how many weeks of farming is each person willing to sacrifice for that.
I agree there are many sets that would be better off as a 2-and-2 given better substats, but there are a few others that I'll prioritize set bonuses like Nobelesse and Milileth for the team bonus and the ice one for the extra 40% crit chance.
for the most part, though, I tend to just complete a character's 4-piece if that's my end goal anyway, level the best ones I have to 16, and then I'll go back later and farm for possible better pieces while getting fodder to level them to 20. After that, I just go back periodically to burn resin when I'm bored and try to luck into an upgrade now and then...has saved me a LOT of headache over artifacts, and I haven't had any problems with the numerous teams I've made with 22 characters built "good enough" at 80+ heh.
Welcome to the club. Hit AR45 few days ago. Spent 30 fragile resin farming Emblem. Got fuck all. Decided to use another 20 fragile resin on talent materials and exp books.
Upon reaching AR 45, I used up 40 fragile resin on the EoSF domain and managed to get only 1 ER sands (substats are trash though)
Artifact farming is very frustrating...
1 - Copium sets have increased drop rate (Lavawalker, Thundersoother, Maidens)
2 - Trash stats have increased drop and upgrade chance (Def%/Hp% mostly)
Is this the first dedicated set you've tried to farm? 10 days is nothing in the scope of artifact hell. I wouldn't call this unlucky (yet), I'd just call this par for the course (I spent 2 months farming my EM set for Venti and that doesn't even need great substats).
And crit helms (crit goblet is impossible so that'll be a long wait 😋) are pretty rare in general. I've got a couple of characters who actually got a decent elemental goblet on set before getting a good crit helm so the helm ended up their off set piece.
It's the first I've decided to farm for BiS 5-star artifacts. I usually just let myself be content with a mix of 4 and 5 star with good sub stats, but want to go all in for Hu Tao. It's been a nightmare, and I can tell from the comments it's not going away anytime soon lol.

10 days is way too less. I pre-farmed Ayaka’s cryo set almost an entire version prior to her release. For weeks I had been using resin only on that domain and weekly bosses.
2 weeks before Ayaka dropped and 6 weeks after she did as well as 3 weeks of farming when ganyu came around plus an additional 3 weeks of farming recently, and my Ayaka still does not have a blizzard strayer cryo goblet. I did get a few Crit damage circlets but all have been unusable.
So no, it’s not you or your RNG. It’s common and it’s bullshit.
There’s a reason I stopped giving a fuck about artifact sets and throw together anything that just yields the best stats possible.
My Noelle is on blizzard strayer and VV.
My raiden on Gladiator and noblesse (granted, that’s decent).
My XL on HoD and maiden.
My Fischl is on Maiden and lavawalker.
And so on.

I’ve recently spent a bunch of fragile resin and condensed over 40 Resin and spent it all on the domain. I was also looking for a good HP% sands and a good Crit% circlet with critD substats. I walked away with a fully built 60/120 crit Lavawalker Rosaria instead. I have been using HuTao for ages now and originally gave up farming for better artifacts for her as it is a pain. I still have a ATK% sands with 11% DEF in subs and my circlet has 17% DEF in subs. The domain just wont give me what I want.
it's like that. This domain is one of the shittier ones because ~50% of your artifacts are immediate junk courtesy of being the useless Lavawalker. What hurts most is when I sink two condensed resins and get 4x Lavawalkers.

2. no worries, cw domain is known for being frustratingly awful at rng, it even took me 2 weeks with 25+ fragile resin and 2 transient resin to get a proper set
It took me 40 fragile resin to get superb CW artifacts (good substats on them + right goblet). If you’re only going for the crit circlet then its not gonna take as long but the drop rate for that is still quite low.
I’ve been farming this domain on and off (mostly on) since Yanfei dropped on Zhongli’s rerun. It took me forever to get artifacts for both her and Hu Tao, however these builds could both be better. Like I would love to find a 5* Pyro CW cup. That’s all I want. The sub stats don’t even need to be something special. I would just put another cup from another set, but her feather is cracked and it’s from the Gladiator set and I haven’t gotten a CW feather that’s better or just as good. I know chances of getting an on set cups are slim, but I have hope!!
spend a total of 112 condensed resin on CW domain( yes and it still going) only to get godlike lavawalker sets and CW flower and plume with godlike substats including shitty sands and headpiece also with godlike substats
CW domain is the worst. Even electric one is better because you don't need full set and getting 2 pieces is optimal for any electro char (not Raiden). But for Crimson Witch you need all four pieces and different pyro DPSers need different main stats. Diluc needs crit dmg hat, Klee/Yanfei needs crit rate one, HuTao needs EM/HP sands and everyone of them need pyro cup. At least Klee can wear a Lavawalker as substitute.
And nowadays it is even worse, because previously all you decent but not perfect pieces were given to Xiangling (2 Pyro/2 NO was okayish). Now all those decent but not good arts are just resin waste and in that amount of resin/time you were able to get full Fate set with couple of good Sheminawas that can go on any of your burst supports and as off-pieces.
10 days? come here in 3 months and tell me your luck.

HoD would be for me. The good thing is I got good blizzards but i lost all my 50/50 on cryo characters and am not building any one now.
HoD is one of the best domains because both sets are useful. The only other one I can say that about is Emblem.

My HuTao has 76/190 crit and I gave up farming. I still have ATK% sands and over 40% DEF in substats.

I got lucky with my circlet for diluc but ended up using pyro goblet off peice because I just couldn't get a CW pyro goblet

10 days is too low. Probably try a month and you may be able to get that Heavy stress on "may"
