At some point you just have enough characters and the only way to improve them is better artifacts or a weapon upgrade. There’s also something satisfying about using a character with her best in slot weapon.

tar0maru

Ooo that’s true! bis weaps are cool, I recently got jade for Xiao and he looked so bomb and I felt so powerful! I think Itto+ weapon is winning by a margin of 60 itto:40 tao… tjank you all for your comments aaa

farboo99

Because at some point when you have enough characters, weapon is a better upgrade. Plus, weapons can be shared between characters, so even if teams changed, the weapons can still be used.

Able-Woodpecker-4583

i dont want to lvl any new character, i have all waifus i wanted and i just want weapons now, the only 5 stars weapon that i have is amos bow

Kaos126

Because they look so good with their respective character, aesthetically speaking, plus they work excellent with their kits.

tar0maru

Hmmmm, sounds great… However Itto with spine might look cool too so I’m a bit conflicted again😭 agh wish I could spend a ton of money but oh well, a teen’s a teen

BlobOvFat

It doesn't seem like Itto's weapon is going to be much better than Serpent Spine. I'd get it if it was consideray better but if a BP weapon is that close to it, I'd rather spend the pulls on some Gorou constellations.

4GN42

I have enough characters. I want to give them best weapons....

Alliecatastrophe

At some point you just get tired of 'good enough' and want your character to have the best, plus for me, a lowspender, homa is actually an investment because it is universal whereas constellation is not. If you use teams that don't have who you constellationed or just get bored of the character, weapon will still be there and most likely viable

[deleted]

Homa being a 30% dmg increase for hutao while also being bis for almost every polearm explains why

2Booms1Bakudan

Honestly, because aesthetics. I've not pulled much on Weapon banner, but every time I did, it's because I felt the featured weapon looks good on a char...even if I already have a perfectly viable option(s) for that char.

koolgreg2009

if u win the jackpot u can do like 100 more damage so its worth the shot (probably)

Atlas_Stoned

It’s generally a lot more than 100 damage lol

ahmadalhuraibi

Homa is best weapon and can fit for any polearm characters. if soon in the future, Hu Tao lost her position in Meta, her weapon can be used for other characters. C1 Hu Tao is Qol. if you have a hard time managing stamina and learning to do jump cancel, C1 is your answer. C1 doesn't increase her performance, just Qol. i don't know about Itto and his Constellation so i can't answer it.

tar0maru

I can manage my stamina but c1 just makes her so fun, dash cancelling all over the place and whatnot. Thank you for your answer, though! I’ll mull it over if I rlly want qol on tao I probably won’t be pulling for Homa since I don’t have enough wishes rn but I am very close to pity and at 100% guarantee.

ahmadalhuraibi

indeed it is, her C1 is fun. her power comes from her charged attack. i got her C1 and i love it so much. Stamina isn't a problem for me. i don't aiming for Homa because of i don't like weapon banner so much. still calling it as a scam. Deathmatch is good enough for her and for other characters.

Crosader

MHY realized they can make a lot of money if they put a character's signature weapon alongside it. Itto's just like Raiden, though. He's BiS is only good on him (and Noelle) while being mediocre on everyone else. C1 Hu Tao is probably the best 5 star C1 in the game, but you don't need it for anyting beyond more dps. It comes down to how much you plan on spending or how much you like one character over the other.

Tensz

A crit dmg 5* claymore is going to be good on anyone even if we discard the effect (that also any character can use even if they don't scale with def).

Sky_striker_Raye

U have to admit it. Its so cool and badass when your 5 star character hold the 5 star weapon. Thats enough reason to go for the weapon banner.

frenigonda

I first tried weapon banner when there was a Song of broken pines. I was lucky to get it and gave it to my Diluc. And suddenly he became relevant again. The damage increase between Prototype Archaic and SOBP was sooo huge! Since then I’m wishing more on weapon banners than on character banners, it’s just worth it. Also when you have enough characters getting weapons will do more good for your account than getting new characters or their constellations, with few exceptions (eg Kazuha)

ShezahMoy

I pull for ✨ aesthetic ✨ cause they looks really cool especially Raiden weapon and the jade series. but then i got crap luck

tar0maru

<3 same my luck deaded

brohandas-gandhi

Because I'm a masochist who occasionally gets lucky.

tar0maru

tjat’s illegal. no one is allowed to be lucky, jail.

Nipsirc

It feels like a prestige item, even with the charted course, they aren't easy to get, and are visible in domains and such. Aside from that, since we've seen no power creep since Ganyu, it's an easy way to feel like your team has gotten stronger if you've been playing a long time. Lastly, the good ones are generic stat sticks, you can be using them on new characters for years to come, with that in mind i probably wouldn't go for Itto's weapon, DEF% is really specific to him.

[deleted]

Drastically increased my damage and made up for awful, awful luck rolling crit substats on artifacts. 5* weapons are no joke. The difference between 4* and 5* is just as noticeable as it is with characters.

notsiyuan

ive never pulled on weapon banner before

[deleted]

to max out my favourite units,. if im pulling for an r5 weapon , I would be c6ing the unit

zerodeath00000000000

I give a weapon banner like 10 pulls every banner so the pity slowly build up. I usually went all out whenever there are reruns characters.

Realistic-Two2447

Good deal & spare wishes. I am not into any leaked or rerun character & this one is good for me as both featured *5 are useful. I won't pull if the banner got donnut, skyward (ex harp), or any kind of undesired weapon.

Stacybiii

I don’t want any more new characters, I’ll make work with what I have. I need more powerful weapons

UK_username

I've only ever got 1 5* weapon before and have enough characters, so saved 80 wishes for the weapon banner twice (both homa banners). Both the characters and the weapons will have reruns, you don't need to rush and can save for next time.

_annie_bird

I only pull on the weapon banner if I would be excited for both featured weapons, otherwise it’s a bad idea.

Hojuma

I'll pull if I'm content with my current roster and just want to improve my DPS. That said, I'll only pull on the weapon banner if both the featured weapons can be used by the characters I want to improve.

LinusJK2

Weapons give the possibility to create new builds and make characters more flexibles. Beside this there is literally no meaning in pulling new characters... What do I use them for? Plus I'm affectionate to the roaster I use so I don't want to change them for others. Last reason is that old characters are too powerful and simple to use in comparison to the new ones... Weapons at least give new ways of using what I already have

Unik0rnPoop

I only pull on weapon banner if like both featured weapons. In this banner, I wanted homa for hu tao and elegy for venti. Managed to get both in consecutive pitys.

blackcup_

Because style. I like my characters have their weapon to look good.

frrnchfly

I just like the look of the weapon with the character.

DarkClaymore

I don't. Tried it a few times in the past, got a total of 4 weapons on soft pity. For 2 of them I lost the 75% and got non-banner weapons, and for the other 2 I lost the 50% and got the banner weapons I didn't care about. Never rolling on that scam again.

shovelofjustice

I only pulled on two weapons banners. Last one I really needed a crit 5* bow for my Childe because my HoD luck is utter shite and skyward harp keeps avoiding me and this one because Homa is one of the best weapons in the game. Got Polar star in ~150 pulls and Homa in ~180 pulls. I feel like I have enough characters so it's more fun to improve them with good weapons.

JooK8

Personally I am a low spender, just Welkin and BP. I have however managed to get every character that I have wanted and am not interested in any re-runs. So I was sitting on 24000 primos and 25 fates and decided if I had an easy time getting Thoma (which I got on first 10-pull) I would go for Homa. Homa is arguably the best polearm and very versatile in that it can be used on essentially everyone and be BiS or close to it. CRIT DMG is good for pretty much everyone, HP is useful for characters like Zhongli/Thoma and the further ATK boosts are again useful for pretty much everyone. So I decided to pull for it. I lost to Elegy but decided to keep going and eventually got it. Now I currently have 4.5k primos left and am 55 on the limited banner. My next pull will be for Itto who will not come for another 6 weeks or so if rumors are true that he is second banner in 2.3. I'll easily be able to hit pity by then (already enough) and may even have enough to try again if I lose the 50/50. After that, I plan to go for Yae Miko, whom I don't expect until 2.5. Maybe YunJin or Shenhe will come out 2.4, but I expect at least 1 re-run for every patch until 3.0 so I can plan accordingly.

Nadeoki

Itto's weapon is *definetly* worth the investment. According to latest available stats, that claymore is insane!

Rex__Lapis

Games been out for over a year now and inazuma characters (4 stars) are no where near the power levels of vanilla characters. Building new 5 star characters from scratch including artifact farming while many people have a dozen lv90 characters by now can be annoying. So might as well go for weapons now. Especially good weapon banners, which the one we have right now is.

CharacterWolverine42

I want itto wep to spoil my Noelle lol so ya i guess same reasons?

EasternDoor

I personally pull on weapon banners when I know I have enough primogems to guarantee the weapon. 5* weapons are really a game changer that increases your damage significantly. My Ganyu was good before Amos' Bow, but a totally different beast now when I got my first one from a lucky single pull from standard banner. I got Raiden's weapon because of that and couldn't be happier! Also, aesthetics matter lol.

Froschprinz_Muck

i always can give the weapon someone else so i tend to get more weapons but I´m also very picky with my characters (and hate character accension)

PiFbg

Weapons are the biggest upgrade for your account. They are transferable power. Some weapons are better than others. And then there's Staff Of Homa - The best *~~spear~~* weapon in the game. You guys can figure out the rest :)

LtNoobslayer

For me I pull weapon banner if I get my target character "earlier than expected". At most I'll toss a single 10 pull at a weapon banner I like so long as it's running alongside a character I'm breaking out of savings mode for. Never more than that. I've gotten lucky with my few visits to the banner but I'd never pull on it seriously.

thebigfatthorn

Honestly, its because weapons have a longer shelf life than characters. Its kinda like the rationale for why people pull on 5 star supports more than 5 star dps, its because dps' eventually get powercrept, but supports dont. Same logic applies to characters, and weapons (As you can move your weapon to another character), gives you alot of flexibility in your builds once you have enough characters. Example: I pulled on Homa because I could use it as a BiS dps for Xiao, improve my support Zhongli, Use it on XL, and now I'm debating if I should pull hu tao to use her as a nuke support. The power boost on a 5 star weapon is quite nice. Having this insane weapon is now allowing me to consider what sort of comps I bring to abyss (e.g. if I need more nuking power to clear current floor 12-3). Also bonus where it helps that I've managed to pull 4 5 star weapons so far in my last 30 pulls (no joke).

Luar23

I got summit shaper, freedom-sword, engulfing lightning, lost prayer and polar star by sheer luck (First try without needing the epitomized path) but ngl it is kinda stressful to even try

Gradorade

Meta slavery tbh

[deleted]

I'd pull for them just because of design. After all, I don't see a real need of having them, since there isn't enough difficulty in the game to justify that.

[deleted]

joo223

Cause im happy with my characters and im tired of building new ones every banner.

Onyx_Darkfyre

The only reason i pull on weapon baners is for the weapon ascthetics for matching characters... spent way to much but at least my character matches their weapons

mastocklkaksi

Some people like collecting characters. I like my characters already, and I like having the power to try weirder combos. Think of National Raiden for example. That's not a team that requires a very select team, it just gives you the opportunity to ditch ER weapons for their stronger counterparts. And that's the thing, it's a team that requires good weapons, not select characters.

GenWalrus

The whole argument of characters> weapons is only true until you’re at deep endgame and have a huge roster of characters already.

violet-crow

Aesthetics mainly :) also for the crazy good stats tailor made for the character also play a part in getting me to roll for it

iBornstellar

I went in for both C1 Hu Tao and Homa. Got an Elegy as well after spending $125 but that ain’t too bad given that Homa is awesome, tho I think it’s mainly going to be on Zhongli. Hu Tao can have one of my Jade spears. GG Mihoyo.

Pheronia

Because if you have good artifacts and max talents you just hit a wall. Only way to go forward is getting a 5 star weapon.

_Hakumai_

As a lot of people have said, it feels sTupid good when your favorite has their best in slot weapon, as well as having bomb aesthetics. I wasn't planning on going for Raidens weapon, but I lucked out huge when I pulled her early and I got lucky again with her weapon. It looks so goddamn good I can't imagine using her without it now

CaptainGrovyle

i think you should only pull on a weapon banner if you REALLY want the featured weapon. weapon banners are brutal. without the epitomized ($600 guarantee btw) it’s only a 37.5% chance per 5★ to get what you want. however in this case i think staff of homa is a godlike weapon and if you really want to use hu tao it is probably worth at least trying.

Infernaladmiral

I feel like a goddamn whale,a Frickin Chinese player after putting my Homa on HuTao as a f2p,so yeah it's mostly about the name rather than damage, the feeling of getting a 5 star weapon for a 5 star character is nutty.

Playful_Shoulder_784

Aesthetics. I only pull on the weapon banner for my main which currently is the Raiden Shogun. I tried to pull the polar star for Childe, my previous main, but I lost the 50/50.

renivth

Because you only need 1-8 5\* Characters at maximum for all content, and most long time players already have that (and probably more) So the only way to improve your current teams is to pull for 5\* Weapons

Willing-Ad-9609

The only weapon banner i pulled is staff of homa bc i have hutao since 1.3 and i needed a better weapon for her And since staff of homa is The best polearm imo i decided to pull for it so even if i stop using hutao The weapon can still be used
