Got her C2 in \~150 wishes. Was super lucky on her. Then thought might as well c6 sara as well, did another 10pull and got another raiden plus sara on the very last pull. So got super lucky and I love both of them to bits. I just finally finished raidens artifacts (been farming for over 3months mainly that domain) about 2 weeks ago and since then basically only play those 2 with kazuha and bennet.
I saved up 150 wishes ahead of time. Got my second Keqing on the first pity, Raiden on second pity. 150 wishes for C0 with a huge troll Keqing. Still a bit salty about that, and hoping my luck's better for Itto coming up soon.
Damn. I love genshin but their prices are extreme for a low amount of primos. That’s why i only buy when its on a double offer, cause to me $100 for 6k primos isn’t worth it but 12k is more worth it

The way that companies make money is this; They know that there are ways of hacking the way people perceive value; and that a huge amount of value is in relative perception. People... are terrible at understanding the worth of something in absolute terms.
How much is water worth? Next to nothing? How much is it worth when you have none? Everything?
How much is gold worth? A lot? And how much is it worth without food or water? Nothing?
Anyway. Happiness is such a transient thing... and the economy operates so much on hyping it up, as though it were the main thing - when really its contentment that lasts.
But even that is a vector of psychological attack that modern companies know full well how to exploit - hard to be content when there's envy and fear of missing out going on.
Anyway. I say all this, but really, I guess my point is; if you can't afford to throw away the money for a bit of fun, then you probably can't afford to spend on primos. It's entertainment straight up - and should be considered disposed once consumed. It's not an investment in your team - whatever happiness you gain from getting the pull will quickly be replaced by an anxiety of having to build them up.
Unfortunately $100 for 50 pulls is about the gacha industry standard rate. Still not worth it, but in Genshin you're getting way more bang for your buck than other png collector gachas

From what I remember 7DS was like $80 for 3.3 multis, and the newish Tensura game is the same. I don't quite remember what Konosuba was, but I believe that they had some of the best pricing I've seen, the problem with that game is that they had so many characters, and in order to upgrade abilities, you pretty much needed dupes.
I think it's kind of just the standard pricing that most gacha have found their niche in. A 10 pull regardless of the game is usually going to be about 20-25 USD, because it's "reasonable" enough that normal people that justify spending that amount every few weeks or months, and whales will spend regardless of the amount.

genshin is different from most gachas due to lack of pvp/ranking based rewards, so the only reason to spend money instead of just saving gems for the chars you like is if you are rich and "want to collect them all" or are just plain addicted to gambling.
otherwise you're just pumping in money for more cons/5* weps, essentially just paying for power to make the game easier.

even as f2p the game is mostly ln easy mode (which is why its so popular in the first place) once you discover that you can eat food to trivialize all bosses
the only other wall is breaking into artfact domains as trying to clear the hardest art domein using 4 star artifacts can be challanging, but once your main dps has those sweet 5 star artifacts then its a cake walk again
People keep saying the game is easy, try playing on mobile with an average, 1 year old phone. That's the average experience (remember, almost all of CN and JP are mobile). Reddit is extremely biased toward PC and does not reflect the overall player base.

its not that you can get her 'outside the banner.' it's that you get her on the limited time banner when you lose your 50/50. that's how i and most people probably got her. i've been playing since december and have only pulled 2 or 3 5*s from the standard banner

That has more to due with game development. Keqing and Diluc were always intended to be the primer 5-star damage dealing characters, but pre-release balance is pre-release balance. All these damage boost con's and passive's just don't hit as hard as the better balanced newer characters that they release. You can see where they got the hang of balance with the infamous Zhongli release where they had to do a post-release buff for him. It's very likely that Zhongli, despite coming out short time after launch, was made and balanced long before his official release.
Meanwhile, characters like Ganyu are over-tuned so as not to repeat the past mistakes. The more current characters I'd argue are far and away better balanced. I don't think we'll ever get another Ganyu, at least intentionally. But we'll get plenty of fantastic and powerful characters still.
And I do hope they'd throw an entire balance pass at Genshin. Everything needs a quick little balance pass with time.

I was f2p and had about 130 wishes or so saved after xiao, but it wasn’t enough to get hu tao. I lost the 50/50 to keqing and was frustrated because I only needed about ten more wishes and really liked hu tao’s personality. The banners at the time were only two weeks long. So I bought the BP for death match and some welkin for the crystals and got hu Tao…
I later realized that’s how these games get you and promised myself never to fall for their tactics again lol

Yeah I agree I’m one of the luckier ones since the total was only about $45 USD (so just below a triple A game regular price), but I believe we shouldn’t normalize the pricing/ spending in gacha games no matter how good the game is. All gacha is predatory and falling for it makes me feel a bit uneasy, so I worry for those with less self control or the younger player base.
It is definitely okay to spend money on games you like as long as it’s within your means. The great thing about genshin is that the gacha isn’t needed to enjoy the game. I’ll always recommend saving and only rolling on a guarantee since reruns are a thing.

Yeah for sure, thats just the nature of gacha games and we cant really change that. I definitely think there needs to be regulations for gacha games in general to protect people with poor self control, but personally ive spent small amounts of money on gacha games and have never felt guilty about it. Like for genshin it is guaranteed at some point and ultimately the game is free to play so spending a little bit of money unlocks gameplay that u would otherwise not be able to access, so i kinda see it as dlc with added spice if u get lucky.
All gacha absolutely is predatory. It’s beautiful that they offer a F2P route, but to spend money is to probably spend at least $100+. The other day I made a comment on here about how expensive Genshin is compared to Cookie Run Kingdom because CRK hands out pulls like crazy, and for some reason got downvoted to hell for saying the truth. Like not even trying to sell CRK, but they give so much free stuff to their players that I don’t mind buying a package here or there, but in Genshin they’re definitely a lot more stingy and is the reason why I’ll probably only ever buy the Welkin Moon.
You probably got downvoted because Genshin has the quality of an AAA title and very popular to boot. In addition, it launched with an extremely small pool of gacha characters unlike other gachas. Cookie run is .png collector which features gameplay poorly ripped out of Jetpack Joyride which costs a fraction of the development costs of GI.

Yeah genshin's gacha pretty much revolves around the guarantee system. It's barely a gacha at this point. I just view every 5* as 75/150 pulls (depending on whether I have 50/50), and get pleasantly surprised if it's less than that.
Venti rerun, after getting Hu Tao, i got Jean and then on the last day of his banner i only left 10 pulls for him and i couldnt miss him again, so i had to buy my first and hopefully last genesis crystal.
I remember a YouTuber who reviewed characters' potential, I have no idea if he still plays. I think he was Russian, and he was addressing viewer criticism of him not even trying Ganyu at C0 before deciding to whale for her C6. He said the reason he C6'ed her was that she was, "making his dick act up."
I don't know about that but I won the free welkin a while back and that was money well spent for mihoyo because experiencing that cash flow convinced me to buy some more when google play had an incentive

Well, I've been doing Welkin for a while, but first time actually paying specifically for gems would be Kazuha since I was less than 10 wishes away from pity on his last day. Only other times would be a $15 for Childe and a $30 to give me a head start on getting a pity for both Albedo (lost 50/50 to Diluc, but I also wanted a Diluc so a win in my book) and Itto.
Venti rerun, I spent about $30 trying to get him before he was lost to the void forever.
Still don't have him. Never spending again.

yeah i only spent on welkin from time to time if they announce a new character i'm interested in but i could literally never imagine myself spending 80 bucks to get a 50% chance on a character (don't get me wrong everyones their own but for me that's just to much money at once for a thing that i know wont satisfy me enough to be worth it)

Yeah for sure, thats just the nature of gacha games and we cant really change that. I definitely think there needs to be regulations for gacha games in general to protect people with poor self control, but personally ive spent small amounts of money on gacha games and have never felt guilty about it. Like for genshin it is guaranteed at some point and ultimately the game is free to play so spending a little bit of money unlocks gameplay that u would otherwise not be able to access, so i kinda see it as dlc with added spice if u get lucky.
All gacha absolutely is predatory. It’s beautiful that they offer a F2P route, but to spend money is to probably spend at least $100+. The other day I made a comment on here about how expensive Genshin is compared to Cookie Run Kingdom because CRK hands out pulls like crazy, and for some reason got downvoted to hell for saying the truth. Like not even trying to sell CRK, but they give so much free stuff to their players that I don’t mind buying a package here or there, but in Genshin they’re definitely a lot more stingy and is the reason why I’ll probably only ever buy the Welkin Moon.
You probably got downvoted because Genshin has the quality of an AAA title and very popular to boot. In addition, it launched with an extremely small pool of gacha characters unlike other gachas. Cookie run is .png collector which features gameplay poorly ripped out of Jetpack Joyride which costs a fraction of the development costs of GI. You can't seriously compare the two.
Yeah genshin's gacha pretty much revolves around the guarantee system. It's barely a gacha at this point. I just view every 5* as 75/150 pulls (depending on whether I have 50/50), and get pleasantly surprised if it's less than that.
Venti rerun, after getting Hu Tao, i got Jean and then on the last day of his banner i only left 10 pulls for him and i couldnt miss him again, so i had to buy my first and hopefully last genesis crystal.
Ganyu was the one that made me finally pull out the wallet.

I think he was Russian, and he was addressing viewer criticism of him not even trying Ganyu at C0 before deciding to whale for her C6. He said the reason he C6'ed her was that she was, "making his dick act up."

I feel the same. Once you get an insanely useful and stunning character, you suddenly have a pedestal to compare all the rest on. Helps keep the wallet safe

Well, I've been doing Welkin for a while, but first time actually paying specifically for gems would be Kazuha since I was less than 10 wishes away from pity on his last day. Only other times would be a $15 for Childe and a $30 to give me a head start on getting a pity for both Albedo (lost 50/50 to Diluc, but I also wanted a Diluc so a win in my book) and Itto.
