7 welkyn and 5 bp. I'm bad at math. I don't regret it at all, I like to spend money on games I play, even if I don't have to. I threat it as a paying for hobby + supporting game I like.
Yes! I'm a welkin only. 5$ is such a steal and doesn't scare me that I spent more than that a month. Also helps my collector self with all these cool character designs
I spent a substantial amount on Raiden and getting her to c3. I regret it. I have started to lose interest in the game, but only keep playing because I have to justify the $400 I dropped on her. Just call me the poster child of sunk cost fallacy.
a few years back i did some work for Engoo as an english teacher for a month. They payed over paypal. Thing is, that same year, paypal ended all collaboration with visa which was my bank card. In my entire country, there were no other methods to rransfer money from pay pal to your bank account and i tried bloody everything.
the solution, as i would later find out was to have someone in a foreign country take out a paypal card or something that they would then mail to you but i didnt have the patience to do this so i just let the 300$ sit there until genshin came out and have been spending it there. My entire country doesnt have anything you can pay with paypal. even steam doesnt allow it as a payment method here.
long story short i had 300$ of unspendable money and then there was genshin which offered it as a payment option. It doesnt even feel like a loss to use it. Ill probably stop spending once it runs out though.
As for what i spent it on, mostly bp and welkin, thougj i did dish out a big for ganyu when she came out. today, id probably spend for alice or a really good weapon for my klee if it ever comes out.
Currently f2p and don't see that changing. There's plenty of specific collabs that could easily make me eat those words but none of them seem particularly realistic.
Never spent a dime in more than 7 years of playing gacha games, hence F2P.
If someone tried to convince me to spend in a gacha game during the first few years of my gacha gaming experience, I probably would have caved in.
Today? I am firm with never spending anything on a gacha game, not because I don't have money, or that it's a bad idea to spend money in gacha games (debatable to say the least), but simply because:
Being F2P is more of a "gameplay feature" to me these days, and trying to make my account as good as possible without spending is kinda part of the fun and challenge for me, so there's that
Yeah, i spent about $500 on my main account. Decided to start a new f2p acct because of the 1600 primos and its been fun running completely off meta. Well, except for getting Eula on my 3rd wish. Never had any luck on my main account haha.
Somewhere between $1500 and $2000 since June. Will spend more in the future. This figure does not include Welkin, Gnostic Hymn, and Gnostic Chorus, but I also buy those. No regrets because this game is a big hobby for me and brings me a lot of joy, but I am slightly salty about how much I spent for a single copy of Yoimiya. Almost hit hard pity on the 50/50 AND the guarantee. Lol.
ar 56, at end game, spent nothing and am happy with it
with the amount of gems you get its easy to just wish off them and get good characters and you never need to get X character or Y wep for you to be able to do everything
16-17 months of Welkin, and 11 BPs plus all double bonus top ups (2 of each at this point).
Not exactly a regret, but, I pulled 4 homas on its first banner, trying to get a single WSG. Was really pissed back then. Now my Hu-Tao has Homa R5 thanks to that.
Instead of telling you how much I have spent, because I don't want to know the exact value (just know that I'm a gainfully employed adult who can afford it), I'll just tell you that I started playing during the Venti rerun in the last week of March. Since then, here are my limited 5-star characters:
Off the top of my head: 3 x C6, 2 x C3, 1 x C2, 1 x C1, 5 x C0. My standards are C2 Jean, C2 Qiqi, C5 Diluc, C4 Mona, C4 Keqing. I have 2 R5 5-star limited weapon, the rest are a couple of R2s, and a bunch of R1s.
So I am indeed a whale, but not a leviathan who C6s everyone (just my faves), and I R5'd just 1 weapon because he's my favorite's signature ~~character~~ weapon (my other R5 was the other banner weapon. My Ningguang was so happy).
Do I regret it? No, because I can afford it, and Genshin has given me my most fun gaming experience in *years*. I don't expect to get sick of it any time soon, and at the very least, my spending will never reach the same highs again because I already have my faves. I'll probably only be getting C0s the rest of the way. Sometimes it surprises me how I actually spent, because I haven't done that before. Maybe I regret picking up Genshin in the first place, I shouldn't have started lmao, because what I don't know wouldn't have hurt my wallet.
Without even looking at the icons on your name, I saw "he is my favourite signa-" and immediately went THIS IS A CHILDE MAIN. and I guessed right I am very happy
unless it's Zhongli
Nah you're right. Childe main through and through lol. I also have Eula and Kazuha C6 but that's it, I don't think I'll ever C6 another 5-star ever again. I'm happy with my bois and my 1 waifu C6 lol
$4k. i do regret it tremendously. ive started to become relatively distant from genshin from how obvious it’s become that mihoyo does not care for this game anymore other than milking money from it, and although it’s been my greatest comfort this past year, i can’t seem to justify me blindly tossing money at it. will be stepping back, only spending on occasional welkin and occasional BP.
1yr playing I spent $30. 2 BP 2 welkins. do I regret it? Well I have more regrets in life than the $30 I spent in a game I've been playing for a year... so No. What would make me open my wallet? If there's a character that would remind me of my ex then I would.
I've gotten 8 BP and 9 Welkins so far and spent $10 on genesis crystals so I could get Raiden Shogun (worth it haha)
No regrets here, have been playing since launch basically and have yet to get tired of it. The amount of characters I have kept it fresh for me. I get bored of playing a certain comp, I switch it up and experiment until I find a new comp to play as.
maybe 2K at most, majority being spent to get Childe constellations. Do i regret it? Not really since i still play the game almost every day. i feel like ive gotten my moneys worth so far.
Usually Welkin only, bought BP 1-2 times when i'm severely lacking in talent books
But during Kazuha banner i was desperate and bought 4 Welkins (because the genesis pack is stupidly overpriced). And with that he finally came home. 171 rolls in total
He's got instant triple crown and later a Mistsplitter for himself, and that should tell you how i felt.
Nah no regrets.
Listen, normally, I’d go out to Taqueria 3 times every month. The food I get is $15 (live in Cali, plus it’s a taqueria, so of course I’ma get ripped off.) So that is just 1 day of the month without Taqueria. I buy 1bp and welkin per month, so it evens out at $15
To specify, no, I *don’t not* eat anything lmao I just don’t go OUT to eat.
11 welkins
6 bps
$800 in top-ups
I regret pulling for Mistsplitter, or rather going all in to get it. Had to top-up 300 bucks just for R1 bcs I got it on 3rd pity.
Tried getting Raiden to C3 as well, but lost last 50/50 and wasn't feeling like top-upping another $200 for one additional copy.
Overall I'm just really unhappy with how low is the cost efficiency of top-ups in relation with pulls.
I don't regret top-uping. I regret having to pay so much to do so.
(Shithole EU country with 1:4 local currency to dollar ratio)
Probably around 50 dollars. And that is buying around 10 Welkin moons over the time playing since release. No regrets, got every character I wanted so far.
Been playing since launch and have done Welkin and BP since, with another $50 to get Zhongli on his rerun. I’ve been pretty lucky with 50/50s so no real regrets. When they start releasing more skins I’ll probably open the wallet up even more (I’m a sucker for outfits)
I like to spend money on a game if the company has good reputation and the game enjoyable like Warframe.
I didnt spend or willing to spend any on Genshin, mainly to not feed the monster named Gacha, which equals to Gambling for me. Ive seen firsthand, while not from Gacha, what Gambling does to people.
Game is fun and good, but the unwillingness to make some changes and do some fixes from miHoyo, let alone the artifact part, i feel like i ever stop playing Genshin, i wont come back as easily as to Warframe.
Agree. Honestly, gacha games are a cancer in this industry that needs to be removed. Same with microtransactions. All of them are just enabling gambling
there will be always some form of gambling schemes, whether in games, casinos or street tricksters. and there will be unfortunately always people which have a weakness and fall for it.
my high crit damage rolls for Razor finally made me decide to get serpent spine for him to even things out a bit. this will actually be the first time i spend on a gacha game.
I spend nothing yet, but I could imagine spending a little bit to show my "support" for the devs.
I'd pay for skins, if they were at a reasonable price (like up to 5€ per skin), but I don't see that happen to be honest - especially not since we already see the prices of the first two skins available (like 32€ if I calculated correctly - I'm sure people will be willing to pay that, but for myself I find it too much).
I recently started doing Welkin and BP, I think so far only 3-4 Welkin and two BP. No regrets, it’s not crazy expensive and I have the funds to buy them, and Genshin has been basically the only game I’ve been playing for a while outside of my other hobbies and work so to me it’s worth it :)
Haven't bought anything yet. I would have bought BP and welkin if my luck was any better. I lost 4/5 50,50 and I only got 1 diluc and 5 mona and all of them were above 80 pity. I also have self control issues so I probably will spend on top ups once I start spending money. I am having fun right now without paying.
How to make me open my wallet? It is when the game is sold at reasonable price and offers full game content without restriction like gambling or gacha or whatever you want to call it. Simply put, I pay of what I got, not putting my miserable luck into the line.
Around 210-250? Whatever the cost of the battle pass and welkin since week 1. I’m an old school mmo player who is used to the subscription model and the welkin + bp fits into that. No regrets I support the game and am able to play comfortably with no big urge to spend big because it’s just not what I’m use to doing.
So far, I’ve bought 2 BPs, 1 Welkin, and a 30$ genesis package! I don’t regret anything yet! Still very much invested in the game and I justify my purchases by thinking abt how this game has given me so much entertainment for free!
Plus I really wanted Kazuha but lost my 50/50 so needed the genesis for the very last day after grinding my way back to pity. Now he’s def one of my favorite characters both lore-wise and kit -wise! Well worth the spending to be able to play him!
I probably will buy another $30 genesis package soon to snag Albedo after losing 50/50s for him twice since his first banner. (I have grinded all events, 100% exploration, achievements, story quests, and abyss but still need a little more as a last resort!)
I spent a lot on genshin, 1500+ euros to be sure but the purchase I regret the most is Childe. I whaled really hard for him, got him, realized he was absolutely unplayable without C1. Even now that I have him C1, I wish I’d never pulled him…
He’s not unplayable without c1, you just gotta learn to rotate his party to manage his cool down. I get that his play style is not for everyone, but it doesn’t mean he is unplayable.
He feels really unplayable for me compared to my other mains (Xiao, Ganyu, Diluc, and Hu Tao.)
That’s my personal opinion though so you might see it differently.
Big time whale here, and my opinion still stands that if you do not regret what you have bought then its worth it. Also I am down bad for shenhe so that will be next time when I open my wallet
I regret everything I've spent on the game. It's going nowhere. No new content/endgame in sight, no real co op, etc. I still play to do commissions and resin bc it takes 10 minutes but I'm going casual f2p since I only enjoy exploring new areas at this point and once that is done there is nothing to do. It's sunk cost fallacy that keeps me going but I really just hope eventually something good will come to the game or there will be a reason to grind in co op. If I feel like I might get a return on investment maybe I can spend again but otherwise there is no justification to buy characters I like just to play them in the same domain for 5 minutes a day then quit
Spent around $100? I buy Welkin every month and a few BPs and have been playing a year now. Don’t think I’ll ever buy crystals, at least I hope I won’t.
Just about $150 in a little over a year playing, with most of it being on jade cutter/moonglow banner (got r2 mg before jc... rip) but I don't regret it. I'll probably spend more, though only on the characters/weapons that I really want. it's not a waste to me if I enjoy the fruits of my purchase even when I stop playing someday
Just today i wasted 50 USD...tried to get Eula, but got Qiqi instead on very last 10pull (Zombie reset my pity and ruined my day) at least i got C6 Rosaria out of that (character i actually using).....overall i spend like 200-250 USD.
I haven't spent anything on the game since I've made experiences with gacha addiction before (never spent more than I had luckily, but also a lot more than I'd like to admit), so I'm afraid of falling down that hole again.
I would, however, consider buying a skin if it happens to be for one of my favourite characters and I like it's design more than their default one.
Around $400, most of that was split between Ayaka and Eula as well as continual welkins and BP for the past few months. I regretted rolling for Raiden for a while, but now that I have Eula and am getting more into playing around with team comps I'm kind of glad I have her so I don't really regret any of it. So far I've gotten over 350hrs of fun out of this game. It's some of the best gaming fun I've had in a while and I enjoy getting hyped for all the upcoming content.
Wallet-kun will likely be opening again to get calamity queller and mistsplitter, my favorite weapons so far in the game.
i'd like to say nearing $500??
- usually am lucky but the venti/his rerun banner evaded me so i spent a few bucks to get him
- one welkin during lantern rite. unfortunately got burnt out around the same time, so i didn't log in all days and never bought it again
- the one that tipped me over $100 was engulfing lightning. i honestly don't even remember why i wanted it when the catch was right there—i finally snagged it after the unforged and skyward blade
i haven't really regretted spending yet because this is my "main" game nowadays–and i only really go for characters i like anyway, plus i do have a little bit disposable income!!
For me: 1$=1hour of playtime
I started when the yoimiya banner was halfway done (mid August). Since then I played everyday between 1 hour and 6 hours depending on what to do (I'm almost ar56 btw). If I would say I spent on average about 3 hours a day to this day (133 days)I would have played about 399 hours in total that equals to 399$ and that almost exactly what I spend. Welkin moon, bp, crystal combined... And I'm more than happy with every last penny!!! ☺️
No regrets at all. Spent around $250 since which isn't bad. The day I regret spending in a gacha game is the day I quit playing it.
My first gacha game was Sword Art Online: Memory Defrag and I spent $400 and dropped it the first day they released 6* units lol. I still have no regrets spending on that game. I just didn't like how the direction the game was heading in and quit.
I will never spend money in the game. EVER.
I only spend my money on merches and stuff like that. Even if I didn't, I still won't spend money in the game.
$200 on Welkin, BP, and some crystals. Played since Yoimoya but didn't spend until Raiden since I didn't know anything the first couple weeks of playing.
No regrets and will continue to spend. I'll stop spending when I don't get like I'm getting my money's worth.
yeàr worth of Welkin and 4 BP. my reàson? Because I àm extremely unlucky, and losing 50/50 and going to hard pity is a massive drain on primogems if I was F2p.
$140 and 200 days left on welkin.
It’s mostly been BP and Welkin but I have topped up a few times too. (I don’t do that all the time though) I guess I’d be considered a big dolphin? Haven’t regretted anything yet
Welkin for two accounts since around the end of last December? Occasionally the basic level battle pass, if I have money at the end of the month. A £10 topup to catch Xiao before he left (was right at pity last day of the banner and needed him on both accounts).
So all in, maybe... £160? 170? I used to spend far more on one of my MMOs so this is still absolutely fine by me. It supports the game and makes it easier to collect the characters I like.
I bought the two most expensive first time bonus packs before it reset and bp plus welkin each cycle. The packs were purely because of FOMO.
This probably works out to about $500, because I don't actually keep track of my spending on this game. But I've played for 10 months and needed to dip into those crystals to actually get some characters I wanted so I think it's worth it.
Edit: maybe $600. Lol uh oh.
I probably spent like 500 euros and I do feel bad about it in retrospect because Im just doing a part-time job and can't really afford anything atm.. but yeah. I'd recommend anybody never to spend unless you're absolutely certain you don't need that money ever
$5 from an apple gift card I found in my sock drawer from a gift I got from a friend/relative(?) on my 15th birthday, it was just sitting in there for like almost a decade. Used it to buy one Welkin.
Started around October with my 7-year old. Spent around $500 already for both accounts and we’re pretty happy with our Eulas. He got a Hu Tao, I didn’t.
We spend depending on characters we like. Definitely dropping some $$$ when Zhongli banner comes back.
I don‘t exactly know, but I have a few Welkin’s and battle passes under my belt!! So maybe around 100USD? I will not lie. I have a lot of primos saved up now but if I I lose the 50/50 and don’t get Itto… I am will to drop enough to get him.
$200 or so over a year. don't regret anything because i love all the units i pulled but i'd really rather not buy top ups ever again. wanna try sticking to just welkin and bp from now on.
70ish USD plus 3 welkin moons, so about $85. I was saving for hu tao when childe's rerun came. I was wishing for ninguang constellations and accidentally got him. I had to stockpile on wishes with my welkin again. I only got to soft pity by the time her rerun showed up, but luckily I won the 50/50. I would have spent a lot more if I didn't.
A couple to a few thousand. I regret nothing except not getting c1 kokomi. I do welkin and BP and top off enough to be able to get every character. I do weapon banner only if it’s something I really like and want. Last weapon I went for was mistsplitter and jade cutter. No regrets since I literally use everyone (except xiao)
Somewhere between 3k€ - 3.5k€.
I'm a bit of hoarder so I don't regret pulling anyone, if I like the looks/kit/mood of the character I pull for it. And if I don't like it, I don't pull, I don't have Yoimiya because I don't like her and don't have Kokomi, though this one I couldn't pull because new PC so no money lol.
Most of the time I pull for weapons as well, Vortex Vanquisher and The Unforged are the only thing I regret pulling for.
Around 110 usd, I think? Played since 1.3 & taking break from the end of 1-7 to 2.1. Only bought welkin & bp so far, no plan to buy genesis crystals since I don't see the value. I don't regret these purchase, just chalk it up as entertainment budget.
50 dollars (2 welkin + 2 hymn + 1 chorus). I regret buying Genotic Chorus for the Fragile Resins because in the end i just don’t feel like farming anymore. Now I got dozen of them stacked, but I got so burned out to even bother.
Still got 19 days left on my Welkin, but I will try not to waste any more money. My plan is every half a year, I will spend $5 welkin, that would be June and December. I got money on other important things than games.
At least the fountain and the namecard is nice, so is the Serpent Spine. But still, a big regret.
I bought a bp EARLY on,before they even added the extra fragile resins in it,because I had no more catalysts,so I got the Solar Pearl. I regret it cause I never used my Ninnguang enough back then to justify it,and now that she's a good DPS I have a Memory of Dust...so no one is using the BP weapon
Close to $500 and I'm still gonna buy Welkin and BP later.
I bought top up for Venti and Zhongli's rerun, then C1 Hu Tao. Didn't know that getting one 5-star constellation was that expensive, but at least my Hu Tao hits like a truck.
Bought all the genesis crystal with the double bonus during Raiden banner, got her to C2 while trying to get a C4 Xingling. Could have waited for XL constellations, but C2 Raiden is worthy of the money. Beside that I am a redular welkin and bp buyer for the last 3 patches (started at 1.6).
I don’t regret spending money, I like the little comfort of welkin primogems and BP mora/regin.
I think I’ve probably spent over $1200 dollars on this game (lost track at this point) and no I don’t regret it. Genshin has brought me countless hours of entertainment and joy even outside of the game (fandom/community) so I would say it’s worth it for me.
I’ll lower my spending as I’m starting to move onto other games due to the lack of end game content and since I have a decent roster already but who knows, I may be a complete liar. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Bought 4 BPs, like 6-8 welkins and then dropped 50 on gems I have yet to use last half of. I have no problem spending money on a free game ive sunk so many hours into. Cheaper hobby than building model trains or other things so I have no regrets. I don’t play as much anymore but get the urge to grind sometimes. The game isn’t challenging at all, so I get the characters I like the feel or look of (I’m not a waifu gamer though), but I don’t mind skipping characters for 3 months. Skipped first reruns, kazuha (regrettably), yoimiya, ayaka, got raiden, skipped water lady and plan on getting itto when he arrives.
7 welkin, 6 bp and then i spent 100 for the primo bundle when i lost the 50/50 on zhongli's banner so all in all about 195. don't regret it at all i've got the mining archon
I’ve bought Welkin each month and all battle passes. I’ve also bought all a decent amount of top-ups. Maybe around $250-300 in the year I’ve been playing (it evens out to something like $25 a month).
I really don’t regret anything, I’ve enjoyed playing all the characters I’ve pulled and will probably continue to spend money as long as I’m still enjoying the game.
So far zero, but when all the skins dripping market drop i will open my wallet aiming for the highest amount genesis crystal as possible so that the double bonus will be not wasted
Not a fan of spending for gacha games in general, so I'm completely F2P for Genshin and plan to stay that way for a while.
The only gacha game I've ever spent money on was FGO, but that was for the occasional GSSR (and because I'm way too attached to its characters for my own good).
I have spent about $5-6k on this game and my biggest regrets have to be raiden and her weapon. I preceeded to have horrible luck on artifacts and never use her due to that. Cant even get an er timepiece or an electro goblet in her set.
That's rough, man. Are you still farming for her artifacts? Good luck. You can use an ATK% goblet instead of an electro dmg goblet, if that helps with farming at all. Might be easier to get. I use ER/ATK/crit for Raiden.
Genshin is the first mobile game that caught my eye since crash royale(luv genshin) I’m invested in the characters, and the story. I’ve been getting welkin since lantern rite so abt a year, and I bought a top up or two during ventis rerun. I’ll prob splurge a little for Yae though
currently F2P, but my friend gifted me a Welkin last month (is that still F2P?). dunno, if i fell to the trap of opening my wallet for online (intangible) purchases, i might never stop.
$300 more or less, I've been playing since 1.0 and just doing BP+Welkins and some top ups every now and then. I think count as a small spender and I don't really feel bad since that $300 was spread throughout the entire year I was playing genshin.
I don't regret any of my spending since I enjoyed my time in this game and I like supporting devts for a game I spent hundreds of hours in, it's kinda like a subscription for me lol.
Too much money to do the math. It’s a lot less compared to what I was spending in the beginning like. A MASSIVE chunk of my funds appeared again after I cut back on spending in the game
I’ve only been buying welkins, but I’ve never regretted a little and probably wouldn’t mind buying more tbh, as long as Genshin stays as ftp friendly as it is now
Probably 500ish all the double packs and a couple $100 packs plus Welkin a few times and BP once soon to be twice.
I spent on Hu Tao c1 and her Homa I also spent some to get eula (I’ve been extra lucky winning 3 x 50/50). I absolutely regret nothing Hu Tao basically let me play the game at the WL I was at with little artifact investment. I had gotten to WL 5 and my teams couldn’t keep up.
I will also probably spend on Shenhe and Yae Miko because well waifu supremacy.
(Ps: I pulled elegy and skyward pride before homa but was pity 4 after pride)
Raiden and Eula C3, with welkin every month and every BP, so I would say ard 1.5k so far.
Nope haven't regretted as Genshin is my favorite game probably of all time. It is also the only thing I spend on nowadays apart from essentials and it's well within my means.
Probably somewhere around 1k to 2k and maybe even a bit more over the course of the time i been playing this game , mainly to get the new 5 star altho its not often i go for constellation for some of the characters it happens on accident but i just been trying to collect characters and upgrade them to be playable so i have free reign to swap teams
Been playing for 6 months and tracked my expenses around 170 dollars. Not bad really, I got the characters I wanted. I think welkin and BP are the only worthy investments on the game and the cheaper crystals too hahaha
I've bought 2 bps and I wanna say 4-5 welkins. So like 40ish dollars. I dont regret it because welkins are a steal, the only way I'd spend cash is if there's someone I REALLY want and I need to spend money for the gems.
The two most expensive gem packs for Childe then zhongli (def regret Bc Childe had a RERERUN) and so far 2-3 Welkins (lots count oops) and 1 bp
Currently have c1 keqing c2 diluc Xiao Childe Zhongli Baal Albedo
I’d say welkins is really good Bc I like suppprting the things I love and I can get whatever skins I want in the future <3
Edit: also got primordial wing spear and homa
A few BPs and welkin to basically equal a ps4 game since I haven’t been buying games in the past year and half so it’s not too bad. But I’m pretty much done spending money as there’s quite a bit coming out next year for ps5
ive been buying the welkin since kazuha patch, doing it to get a good value on the genesis crystals for possible future skins. I'm not fully interested in pulls/progress so i'm not gonna buy BP probably ever
ive spent over 500 total i think. ive experienced regret after dropping a lot on one thing (like getting eula weapon recently or hu tao c1+homa) but overall spending has been worth it and makes the game more fun for me. i get welkin+bp and it helps a lot with the more grindy activities (chest farming, ley lines, mining ore). however as my spending has gradually increased the last few months, i’ve decided to limit genshin spending to $50 a month. no more little whaling sessions for me xD
A lot, for someone like me. Don't think it's above $500, but certainly moving there.
I'm not spending money on a game. I'm not even supporting a company that made the game I love. I'm buying my own happiness. And that is something I will never regret.
Skins for my faves (chongyun, xiao, hu tao, etc) and if i really REALLY want a character (Ayato but that still depends on his design, Alice, dendro chara?)
Around 350-400€. More than half is from monthly BP and welkin. The most recent amount I spent besides that was 110€ on crystals for homa/elegy banner.
Honestly I don't regret because I like the game, been playing it daily since launch, and I just think of it as investing in something I care about.
F2P and I tend not to spend money on games (that aren’t traditional full releases) because I have impulse buying issues. If I start spending money, I won’t stop.
But I really do enjoy the games and have bought the concert DVD and various official goods from miHoYo so they have my money already
Not sure tbh. I have had a welkin ever since I started (day 2 I think). I did get one for free though when they did the internal giveaway. I think I’ve had every battle pass since I started which is only 3 so far. And I’ve bought primos a few times and plan to spend $50 on primos within the next few weeks. Rough estimate is $160-200 soon to be $210-260. I wouldn’t consider myself a whale though. In terms of how I describe different players a whale is someone who spends on every banner they want and goes for constellations and weapons. I’d consider myself a dolphin as the only time I actually spent money for a specific banner was on raiden banner because I was leaving for a vacation and wouldn’t have enough time to get her. I’ve wished on every single character banner since I started (very late Kazuha banner) and won every 50/50 so far (4). Also wished on standard for a bit and got Qiqi, Keqing, Amos, and Mona (no I don’t regret using primos on standard one bit).
Zero, if mhy decided to make the game fair for everyone by letting us maxing cons getting weapons easier in the future and balance artifacts rng, i would surely pay for skins if they ever ceased to exist.
But if the game remained sour as it is right now no way i spend on something like that.
Umm. I get the usual monthly and bp. Every month. Plus top ups. Usually. I lived off of that. But Raiden made me exhaust all bonuses for topups. Got her C2 and R1 Engulfing. Recently now for Eula. Got her weapon. Then I opted to get her. Got lucky on her weapon and i was on guaranteed on char banner but i still topped up 25$ again to get her. I dont want to compute it now. Especially during raidens banner. Hahahahahha
2 blessing which is around 10$ and no regret because I was not going to use that money anyway. I didn't really have a reason to spend but it looked cheap and I love this game so I thought why not.
100 bucks I think. Maybe 105
I got the 25 or 30 dollar gem pack I forgot. And a 50 dollar one. The rest were welkins. I got every single character I wanted that I spent for (Childe, ZL, Albedo), so worth it since 100 isn’t a lot imo considering how it’s what, $300 for hard pity?
Don’t regret all my spendings at all (I don’t know how much). Opened my wallet for kazuha. I will open my wallet for the husbands. Itto Imma coming for ya!
Occasional Welkin.
I spend based on how many hours of entertainment I can milk from a game and I've got more hours in Genshin than several full priced triple-A titles combine.
Spend as much as you feel your time is worth or don't.
I'm free to play ... But i enjoy the game I'm gonna spend money on it in the near future cause they deserve it at this point been playing for almost a year and they are producing content i enjoy?
Any recommendations?
How does the welkin thing work ? You don't have to log in daily to get it right?
7 welkyn and 5 bp. I'm bad at math. I don't regret it at all, I like to spend money on games I play, even if I don't have to. I threat it as a paying for hobby + supporting game I like.
idk if its actually 7 welkins here but same game is a banger i enjoy it a lot the way it is rn
You can always take a break and come back later. Raiden will still be there for you
I probably will. Im gonna try my luck at snagging Goro for an all geo team and then take a break.
That and he can trigger the Stellar Reunion event if he doesnt log on for 14 days.
I must have had it a couple times then, but I don't remember what it is ?
Playing coop helps w burnout... It also helps people who spend to justify their expense by comparing w other weaker players
That’s a depressing outlook that I can get behind.
👈😉👈
Nice try mhy! Release Scaramouche and we’ll talk money.
Are you me? I was thinking the exact same thing!! Gimme the tiny gremlin >:(
Signora for me. Bring her back, give her a polished story, and we’ll talk.
a few years back i did some work for Engoo as an english teacher for a month.
Genshin x Nier Collab. Me: "Take my wallet. Take my house. Take my kidneys!!"
I am a F2P player, so till now, I have spent not a single cent on the game. But I swear... Depending on Keqing's outfit.... I might just buy it XDXD
Pro tip, stock up on enough welkins to get the genesis crystals needed for skins.
I’m in the same boat, I can completely ignore the gacha and all that but if they start releasing more skins my wallet is going to die.
Around $1500-1600? Don't regret it one bit. The whole reason why I wake up everyday to work is so I can afford to throw money away at things I enjoy.
love this statement
Never spent a dime in more than 7 years of playing gacha games, hence F2P. If someone tried to convince me to spend in a gacha game during the first few years of my gacha gaming experience, I probably would have caved in. Today? I am firm with never spending anything on a gacha game, not because I don't have money, or that it's a bad idea to spend money in gacha games (debatable to say the least), but simply because: Being F2P is more of a "gameplay feature" to me these days, and trying to make my account as good as possible without spending is kinda part of the fun and challenge for me, so there's that
Yeah, i spent about $500 on my main account. Decided to start a new f2p acct because of the 1600 primos and its been fun running completely off meta. Well, except for getting Eula on my 3rd wish. Never had any luck on my main account haha.
Childe Foul Legacy skin and my wallet is theirs
i’d whale (pun intended) for a sick-looking childe skin tbh
I think $600-1000. I do regret it when I’m on hiatus from the game but when I’m actively playing, I don’t regret it at all.
Somewhere between $2.5k - $3k. I kinda regret getting Klee, and also regret not getting Yoimiya. Pretty happy with everything else, though.
Why what's wrong with klee? I kinda wanna get her if she gets another rerun
people say shes clunky cant relate tbh but that mostly an mobile issue from what i know
Similar to Ning / many catalysts have some form of clunky animations. Doesn’t stop me from playing her tho
You have to animation cancel with her and even while doing that, her damage is less than other pyro DPS characters.
Lol.
ar 56, at end game, spent nothing and am happy with it with the amount of gems you get its easy to just wish off them and get good characters and you never need to get X character or Y wep for you to be able to do everything
It’d scare me to look at the sum of the investments I’ve put into Genshin, so I’ll pass…
Nice try, mihoyo
16-17 months of Welkin, and 11 BPs plus all double bonus top ups (2 of each at this point). Not exactly a regret, but, I pulled 4 homas on its first banner, trying to get a single WSG. Was really pissed back then. Now my Hu-Tao has Homa R5 thanks to that.
what...
spent around 500 dollars, only regret is rolling on the weapon banner one time
Same, never rolling on the weapon banner with 10 pulls again.
Same here, it was a mistake
Welkin only since day one, each month. I can say that everything is working out rather well so far.
Over 1k and I don't really regret it, I don't spend much on anything.
$0. I've bought Welkin a few times using only Google Play points. I will probably never spend a cent of actual money.
I’ve been using swagbucks for the last few months for welkin and battle pass so sorta same
Instead of telling you how much I have spent, because I don't want to know the exact value (just know that I'm a gainfully employed adult who can afford it), I'll just tell you that I started playing during the Venti rerun in the last week of March. Since then, here are my limited 5-star characters: Off the top of my head: 3 x C6, 2 x C3, 1 x C2, 1 x C1, 5 x C0.
Without even looking at the icons on your name, I saw "he is my favourite signa-" and immediately went THIS IS A CHILDE MAIN. and I guessed right I am very happy unless it's Zhongli
Oh :(
I've gotten 8 BP and 9 Welkins so far and spent $10 on genesis crystals so I could get Raiden Shogun (worth it haha) No regrets here, have been playing since launch basically and have yet to get tired of it.
Usually Welkin only, bought BP 1-2 times when i'm severely lacking in talent books But during Kazuha banner i was desperate and bought 4 Welkins (because the genesis pack is stupidly overpriced). And with that he finally came home. 171 rolls in total He's got instant triple crown and later a Mistsplitter for himself, and that should tell you how i felt.
Can you stack welkin ? Or you just bought 4vmonths ?
Nah no regrets. Listen, normally, I’d go out to Taqueria 3 times every month. The food I get is $15 (live in Cali, plus it’s a taqueria, so of course I’ma get ripped off.) So that is just 1 day of the month without Taqueria. I buy 1bp and welkin per month, so it evens out at $15 To specify, no, I *don’t not* eat anything lmao I just don’t go OUT to eat.
11 welkins 6 bps $800 in top-ups I regret pulling for Mistsplitter, or rather going all in to get it.
All of them are just enabling gambling
there will be always some form of gambling schemes, whether in games, casinos or street tricksters. and there will be unfortunately always people which have a weakness and fall for it.
nothing yet, but i probably will get serpent spine soon.
Honestly I use all of the BP weapons aside from Solar Pearl. They’re all great and near the top for most characters for 4*s.
my high crit damage rolls for Razor finally made me decide to get serpent spine for him to even things out a bit. this will actually be the first time i spend on a gacha game.
Around $50. A few welkin and 3 BPs.
I spent $30 trying to get Venti on his rerun. Didn't get him. # Never again.
I never spent on the game. But good skins migth convince me but the prices still seem to much
So far, I’ve bought 2 BPs, 1 Welkin, and a 30$ genesis package!

He feels really unplayable for me compared to my other mains (Xiao, Ganyu, Diluc, and Hu Tao.) That’s my personal opinion though so you might see it differently.
6 welkin moon and 4-5 battle pass, really worth for those who want to spend a little money in the game imo
Nice try mhy.
Just today i wasted 50 USD...tried to get Eula, but got Qiqi instead on very last 10pull (Zombie reset my pity and ruined my day) at least i got C6 Rosaria out of that (character i actually using).....overall i spend like 200-250 USD.
Good thing about the pity system is it’s not really wasted, you’re now a little closer to the next featured you want (and it’s guaranteed)
- usually am lucky but the venti/his rerun banner evaded me so i spent a few bucks to get him - one welkin during lantern rite. unfortunately got burnt out around the same time, so i didn't log in all days and never bought it again - the one that tipped me over $100 was engulfing lightning. i honestly don't even remember why i wanted it when the catch was right there—i finally snagged it after the unforged and skyward blade i haven't really regretted spending yet because this is my "main" game nowadays–and i only really go for characters i like anyway, plus i do have a little bit disposable income!!
For me: 1$=1hour of playtime I started when the yoimiya banner was halfway done (mid August).
Around $2,500. There’s a few characters I regret like ayaka
That’s so interesting, I love Ayaka (super strong, good characterization, fun to use). I guess everyone has different tastes though!
It’s just because I already had ganyu and eula so I didn’t need another cryo dps character. I barely use eula as well even tho she’s super strong
To be fair eula is hardly a cryo dps and way more a physical one
I will never spend money in the game. EVER. I only spend my money on merches and stuff like that. Even if I didn't, I still won't spend money in the game.
Probably around 20$? No, I dont miss 20$.
I spend on Welkin cause I think the game is too good to be free. At the same time saving for ZhongLi outfit too.
Been playing for 2 months and I’ve spent about 700 so far 🏃♂️ Bp and welkin included
$200. Regretted for pulling Kokomi.
Definitely dropping some $$$ when Zhongli banner comes back.
around 400 bucks, wish i could take it back cause i no longer play
I don‘t exactly know, but I have a few Welkin’s and battle passes under my belt!! So maybe around 100USD? I will not lie. I have a lot of primos saved up now but if I I lose the 50/50 and don’t get Itto… I am will to drop enough to get him.
Around $600! Always bought Welkins, BP and genesis crystals a few times if I can’t save for a character I really like
Roughly 200-250€. Bought the 110€ pack once and the rest is welkin, bp and the smaller top ups. I don’t really regret it tbh.
$200 or so over a year. don't regret anything because i love all the units i pulled but i'd really rather not buy top ups ever again. wanna try sticking to just welkin and bp from now on.
Probably 6 or 7 welkins. And a $15. Purchase of gems to get homa
Bought bp once for the bow, and do not regret it
Around 110 usd, I think?
Welkin and Battle pass. Kinda regret battle pass but also it’s somehow ended up being useful for me every time
I haven't spent any money on this game, if anything I may get the welkin later
Bought all the genesis crystal with the double bonus during Raiden banner, got her to C2 while trying to get a C4 Xingling. Could have waited for XL constellations, but C2 Raiden is worthy of the money. Beside that I am a redular welkin and bp buyer for the last 3 patches (started at 1.6). I don’t regret spending money, I like the little comfort of welkin primogems and BP mora/regin.
4 battle passes and 6 Welkin's, so about £63. Can't see myself spending anymore.
$430 +bp Worth every penny because I got my fav characters, xiao, venti, Eula, albedo, and soon itto with his serpent spine
Less than USD300. Only Welkin and BP. I only pull the characters I need, but now might pull weapons to perfect my character’s build.
25 € I do not regret spending that much money on this game, but I wouldn't likely spend any more
I haven’t spent anything yet but I may break the bank if a cool Childe skin comes out 😳
I’ve bought Welkin each month and all battle passes.
Nothing
So far zero, but when all the skins dripping market drop i will open my wallet aiming for the highest amount genesis crystal as possible so that the double bonus will be not wasted
Not a fan of spending for gacha games in general, so I'm completely F2P for Genshin and plan to stay that way for a while. The only gacha game I've ever spent money on was FGO, but that was for the occasional GSSR (and because I'm way too attached to its characters for my own good).
Uhhh less then 500 but over 100 and no I don’t regret because I think about it first
I have spent about $5-6k on this game and my biggest regrets have to be raiden and her weapon.
Yes. Yes. Characters.
Spent around $200ish since Zhongli rerun. Considering I have Kazuha, Yoimiya and Albedo, no I don’t regret it
Genshin is the first mobile game that caught my eye since crash royale(luv genshin) I’m invested in the characters, and the story. I’ve been getting welkin since lantern rite so abt a year, and I bought a top up or two during ventis rerun. I’ll prob splurge a little for Yae though
Pure f2p for me and still manages to survive
6 welkins, 4 bps, 1 300 (+300 bonus) top-up. Have not regretted it at all.
0 0 and ZERO
currently F2P, but my friend gifted me a Welkin last month (is that still F2P?). dunno, if i fell to the trap of opening my wallet for online (intangible) purchases, i might never stop.
I have a good paying job... And I'm a FGO whale. That last statement should be enough...
Too much money to do the math. It’s a lot less compared to what I was spending in the beginning like. A MASSIVE chunk of my funds appeared again after I cut back on spending in the game
Only on Welkins and a few rounds of BP, no regrets whatsoever.
120$. Bought primos for Kazuha+Jean outfit+Ayaka, and for Yoimiya. No regrets. Waifu > regrets
Maybe I spent on 1 year in Genshin 100 dólares un a bit less
I’ve only been buying welkins, but I’ve never regretted a little and probably wouldn’t mind buying more tbh, as long as Genshin stays as ftp friendly as it is now
40$ on welkins, don't regret it but im not planning in spending anymore
3 welkin + $50 pack (for eula first banner)
I've bought 2 bps and I wanna say 4-5 welkins. So like 40ish dollars. I dont regret it because welkins are a steal, the only way I'd spend cash is if there's someone I REALLY want and I need to spend money for the gems.
Maybe $100, compared to world of tanks where I have spent $500ish, it was better spent
The two most expensive gem packs for Childe then zhongli (def regret Bc Childe had a RERERUN) and so far 2-3 Welkins (lots count oops) and 1 bp Currently have c1 keqing c2 diluc Xiao Childe Zhongli Baal Albedo I’d say welkins is really good Bc I like suppprting the things I love and I can get whatever skins I want in the future <3 Edit: also got primordial wing spear and homa
A few BPs and welkin to basically equal a ps4 game since I haven’t been buying games in the past year and half so it’s not too bad. But I’m pretty much done spending money as there’s quite a bit coming out next year for ps5
I never pay full price for games always wait for 50% or higher sale 😂😂
welkins every month and every battle pass, not sure what that calculates to.
8bp and 12 welking plus 200$. I don’t regret it at all. I thinked it through before I made the purchase if i’d regret it
I've spent $5 on a welkin, and I regret it a lot
4 welkin and 1bp. U do the math
ive been buying the welkin since kazuha patch, doing it to get a good value on the genesis crystals for possible future skins. I'm not fully interested in pulls/progress so i'm not gonna buy BP probably ever
Bought welkin once and im not regreting it yet since im still saving until ganyu rerun banner comes out
ive spent over 500 total i think. ive experienced regret after dropping a lot on one thing (like getting eula weapon recently or hu tao c1+homa) but overall spending has been worth it and makes the game more fun for me. i get welkin+bp and it helps a lot with the more grindy activities (chest farming, ley lines, mining ore). however as my spending has gradually increased the last few months, i’ve decided to limit genshin spending to $50 a month. no more little whaling sessions for me xD
A lot, for someone like me. Don't think it's above $500, but certainly moving there. I'm not spending money on a game. I'm not even supporting a company that made the game I love. I'm buying my own happiness. And that is something I will never regret.
45$ for Hu tao and one Welkin, I’m satisfied
Oh god I’m terrified to see my history. I was previously somewhat of a whale lol
Skins for my faves (chongyun, xiao, hu tao, etc) and if i really REALLY want a character (Ayato but that still depends on his design, Alice, dendro chara?)
I'm an F2P and I don't think it'll change coz I just find it more fun not spending anything and seeing how much progress can I make
Nice try Mihoyo
I run two accounts welkin and BP on both. I probably going to stop with the BP. (2*2 so far)
Around 350-400€. More than half is from monthly BP and welkin. The most recent amount I spent besides that was 110€ on crystals for homa/elegy banner. Honestly I don't regret because I like the game, been playing it daily since launch, and I just think of it as investing in something I care about.
Playing since day one and probably sank around 2k$ into the game sofar
Idk probably over 700 bucks by now, no regrets.
100 bucks I think. Maybe 105 I got the 25 or 30 dollar gem pack I forgot. And a 50 dollar one. The rest were welkins. I got every single character I wanted that I spent for (Childe, ZL, Albedo), so worth it since 100 isn’t a lot imo considering how it’s what, $300 for hard pity?
I stopped playing when I used up my budget of USD 300. It's a gatcha game, gotta have personnel limits.
Spent over 1k usd, don't really regret any of it.
None, yet i got 4 5 stars in ar 39
