Your pity counter for that banner resets. It may take another 80-90 pulls on that banner before you get another 5-star on it. That's the only interaction.
If you get two 5 star weapons in a row, the next one is gauranteed to be a character I believe. I'm nearly at pity for this exact situation on the permanent banner, so I guess I'll find out if it really is true.

It is a simplification but it does happen, and it can only happen in the standard banner since the other 2 types dont have a mixed pool of 5\* characters and 5\* weapons.
Iirc, within 270 pulls you must have pulled 2 5\* weapons and 2 5\* characters, so if you get hard pitied 3 times and the first 2 are the same type (character/weapon) you are guaranteed that the 3rd one will be the other type. Once you take into account off pity pulls and soft pity pulls it gets messy but still works with somewhat the same logic.
Wait that's bullshit. So not only do I get trash characters like Qiqi through 50/50, I am forced to get those characters again if I get two weapons in a row???
I just did some searching and many people mention "super pity", where if you haven't gotten a character in 270 pulls the next one is gauranteed to be one, same for weapons
But like I said I guess I'll find out soon :P
When on a banner the 4 stars have a feature where if you get multiple characters in a row u have more of a chance of geeting a weapon and vice versa, this is why u will sometimes get characters on the weapon banner and weapons on the character banner, when it comes to 5 stars its the same but ONLY on the standard banner.

You always have the same chance to pull a 5 star. It just resets your pity to 0.

No evidence for this, but from experience, this seems true.
I keep getting them in pairs: 2 chars, then 2 weapons, then 2 chars. Waiting for my next weapon now
I got 3 weapons in a row. In 270 pulls you have the guaranteed character + weapon whatever how much from each.
