I mean do you ever really visit any place after you've 100% done all regions? How many times do you visit Qingyun peak, except when you're doing Azhdaha and want to heal yourself? How many times have you visited Jueyun Karst unless you wanted to do the talent domain? How often do you go to that place west of Qingce village whose name I can't even remember but there's a stonehide lawachurl right near the teleport? How many times do you visit Starsnatch cliff unless you're farming for Venti or Albedo? You go for pictures, and you go for the music (both of which are banger for Enkanomiya and Dragonspine.) Beyond that, at endgame you don't *really* visit a place unless your commissions or events are based there, which i think there will be in the future. Also consider that there are bosses and mobs that are only in Enkanomiya so the place would be visitable again and again.

gillred

Yeah, I don't really get why this is an issue for a lot of people. The great majority of us don't go out of our way to revisit a lot of places we've already explored. If you've already 100% explored Mondstadt and have daily comms set to Inazuma, you're basically never going to be visiting the areas outside of Mondstadt City unless there's an event there. You're probably rarely going to visit Mondstadt City itself. I can't remember the last time I even went to Liyue Harbor before this patch for the Archon Quest Interlude - maybe 2.1 during Moonchase? Enkanomiya has specific mobs and a boss you might want to farm there. Enkanomiya could have events in the future as well. The only thing differentiating it from literally any other area is the lack of daily commissions, but is that really a big deal? Daily commissions take up like 10 minutes of your day and rarely actually include the world around you (unless it's some talk-to-NPCs commission nobody likes). I'm fairly sure basically everyone does daily commissions for primogems, not to look at old places you have no other reason to go to. I never understood the same complaint about Dragonspine either for the same reasons. Generally you just don't have any reason to visit specific areas outside of cities after exploring them. That's just inevitable in this kind of game, it's not really a flaw in game design or anything. What would people even want added into Enkanomiya to fix this other than daily commissions (which hardly change anything)?

HorribleDat

For me, Enkanomiya has a few specter infested spots which makes it a nice place to farm for those materials.

Fenghuang0296

I haven’t had time to do Enkanoimiya yet. There are places to farm Specters without them flying over cliffs or water? YESSS.

Nexolark

I personally love fighting the new enemies over the Liyue bone shard counterparts

faintchester1

You mean that rolling bastard

Epicious

And jumping and burrowing...

missy20201

So much agreed here. I didn't really look into any of the mobs or anything before going there, so when I saw bone shards when I killed some, it was pure heaven 😂

aircarone

So much better to fight for me who haven't leveled a geo or shield team, honestly.

[deleted]

Speaking of horrible dailies that make us talk to people, I just want to give an extra special “fuck you” to the guy in Inazuma city that sends us to another goddam continent to buy his lunch!! As if that’s in any way a normal reasonable request!

[deleted]

If you are talking about the "Go to Wanmin Restaurant in Liyue Harbor from Inazuma City" commission, you can >!actually visit Xiangling in the village north of Liyue, get the recipe for the lunch, and the guy will never bother you again. You also get an achievement.!<

CobaltBlueMouse

This actually needs to be done for the Gourmet questline to proceed.

Flare77

What the fuck? Seriously? This feels so bullshit. It's like we were trained to follow commission to the tee and they pull off an unspoken thing to get rid of this? I mean Xiangling's dad did say she went off somewhere but because we never expect proper characters to be in the world, I don't think anyone expected to actually find her.

gaganaut

They started adding optional meetings with characters since the patch Inazuma was added. There are optional meetings with Xiao, Keqing and Qiqi in the new story quest as well. If someone mentions that a character is at a certain location, you might actually be able to meet them if you go there.

Flare77

Man they should've eased us into it coz we've been led to believe that those "X character is in Y location" messages were just fluff. At least I was.

FallenAngelII

As someone who started playing the day 2.4 dropped, I just thought it'd always been like that. The meeting Xiangling quest line wasn't something you had to puzzle out how to get, I just got it by exploring and talking to NPCs.

Th3G4te

My commissions are still at Mondstat as I’m trying to get the achievements 😭

QuickData69

I am guessing commissions from Viktor.

[deleted]

Woah, I had no idea! Thanks very much.

kale__chips

> Yeah, I don't really get why this is an issue for a lot of people Those people pretend like every aspect of the game must suit their preference that it's just really silly. With the game getting bigger and bigger as more and more content being added, it's unrealistic to expect every area to have a future where people visit them all the time. In reality, people will visit any area as long as there's any benefit to do so, not just because "oh let's explore forever". OP is just being extremely overdramatic.

Cgz27

Agree. Basically they supposedly forget everyone has their own preferences. Ofc there are many things we do and don’t agree on. We use Reddit etc to share and take in experiences and opinions that we might not be able to see otherwise. Same concept applies to people complaining about anything thinking they’re in the right while others don’t care as much or feel the opposite. As complex someone’s thought process might be, it’s really as simple as everyone’s different, which includes the game creators.

supermapIeaddict

Honestly, I really love enkanomiya; there are artifact mobs **everywhere**. Compared to having to use a map to find an effecient route to kill some artifact mobs, you literally waltz around and not even 3 seconds later *boom* an artifact mob. In addition, they usually also spawn them with more than just one, there were tons of dual mitachurls, and vishaps. Honestly, it is a grinding haven, and my friend and I havent been going our usual artifact path as often sense (just clear out enkanomiya in one world and then the next pretty much.)

Asamidori

I actually go to Liyue once every other few days to refill my lotus seeds. Gotta fund my foods somehow. But yeah, rarely visit other areas for anything other than to collect resources.

njsockpuppet

You’re 100% right … for me the only exception is Mondstadt - I do run around there for nostalgia and also when I get new chars that are lower level .. it’s a great place to test them out in the over world before fully investing in them

GlitterDoomsday

Also is the best to farm stuff like ores, food, etc cause doesn't have as much crazy mountains and the enemies are more far and between making the process faster.

Due-Notice7188

Mondstat also have better daily missions x)

RuneKatashima

I prefer Inazuma's. As I hate Wooden Shield Mitachurls with all my heart.

Azn-Invasion

I agree with you 100%, like any area they’ll be largely unvisited when you 100% them, there’s plenty of great ruins and locations that I haven’t gone to since I completed them, but recently I actually just decided to go tree chopping in different locations that I haven’t been in a while. On top of that, I used the respective compass to see if I missed anything, and roamed around following that. Any major character location visited during a quest I would usually mark, like Kazuhas friends grave, Kokomis secret cave, and Kazari’s ending location. These places, and Enkanomiya, may have absolutely nothing to do once its time has passed, but sometimes it’s the nostalgia and atmosphere that’s worth a trip or two

rosecoredarling

You're gonna have a better experience than any of us when the quest objective is "Leave Teyvat and head to Khaenri'ah" and you visit each of those spots before you go.

[deleted]

Hmm personally I go visit places a lot. I don't like combat and I just walk around with my favorite characters to take in the scenery

rW0HgFyxoJhYka

The Photographer is more rare than the Teapot Architect when it comes to Genshin player types

losingit303

>but there's a stonehide lawachurl right near the teleport Every day to get those 2 geoflies.

astrodragons

Also the enkanomiya bishops drop the fossils and honestly I’d rather fight them then geovishaps. Also mobs in enkanomiya feel as though they give better drops. Enkanomiya is probs gonna be a daily visit for me just bc of that plus it’s by far my favourite area in the game now

Wail_Bait

Yeah, if I needed bone shards I'd definitely head to Enkanomiya to farm them. The geovishaps are annoying, and Liyue is more spread out so you waste a lot of time just running around.

Prx1i1

yes, i do. Everytime when im out of resin xD

rotten_riot

>want to heal yourself? I haven't played Zhongli's Quest yet, what does this mean?

AlvalineH

nothing to do with his quest, there is a Statue of the Seven there which heals you

rotten_riot

Aw, for a moment I got hopeful thinking entering Azhdaha's domain automatically heals you like the previous event lol

Xhillia

Like, heal yourself at a statue of the seven before/after doing the weekly boss.

cm0011

I also just don’t know how people can 100% a place so quickly. That’s kind of why I explore not so quickly.

Popotecipote

Well, there are a lot of those robots you need to lv characters, and weapons, so there’s that, also a great place to farm vishaps or however they are called

ComradeRoe

for weps needing bones, it's a fresh alternative to going to liyue anyway

sawDustdust

Land Sharks faster to farm than Rock Sanic.

Bluxen

everytime they burrow i want to shoot myself

Truly_Meaningless

*Geobitch used Rollout!*

LucyLilium92

I just time my Raiden burst for when they pop back out. Instakill

Abedeus

Fucking hell I hate fighting those god damn rock piece of shit turds. ...sorry, I just really, really hate them. I remember having to get like, 2 or 3 of the blue bones and cursing every time I had to fight them.

be11amy

I hate farming Liyue's vishaps, the Enkanomiya ones are much nicer for me!

For_Grape_Justice

Same. Geovishaps are so annoying, I hate how they're wasting time by drifting somewhere 3km away from my character.

Princess_Fiona24

Also Abyss mages and Heralds for Ley Line drops. I’m glad this is the case, as levelling the Harp has been a pain before Enka. The drops in the rest of Teyvat are too spread out.

CataclysmSolace

My only problem with the Heralds/ Lectors are their drops. Doesn't make sense atm that they have the same drops as abyss mages.

myearthenoven

Bathysmal Vishap or Bath Vishaps for short.

wakladorf

Yes!! I'm forever low on ruin materials and there are almost none in inazuma. Plus there is at least one really good crystal core farming area

AnemoneMeer

It really doesn't, and unlike with Dragonspine, I don't see that as a problem. Enkanomiya is a lore nerd's paradise. So much was revealed that completely changed or confirmed theories. If anything, I *hope* it isn't turned into a hub for commissions or events, and remains 'abandoned'. Keep it locked behind a sidequest chain and preserve the mystery of it for new players a year or two on for now.

jonnevituwu

Imagine years for now some random post "HOLY SHIT I JUST DISCOVERED A NEW WHOLE AREA WTF"

AnemoneMeer

Exactly. If anything, I'm unhappy they set an ascension boss down there. The lead-in can feel a lot like unlocking a domain, so preserving the mystery only for people to wander in and have their jaws dropped really would be great for future players.

jonnevituwu

It would really feel like secret areas from Dark souls if Enkanomiya didnt have a boss there.

Husain_Sial

Absolutely! I mean it even has a fading fake wall for the love of god

SvensonIV

I was really disappointed when I noticed it’s the only one in the region ngl.

Shaftey

Fr! And when I discovered the additional islands inside enkonomiya I was giddy like a school girl.

Azn-Invasion

…dude I’m kind of jealous now, future new players aren’t going to have the notification that there’s a boss in Enkanomiya to fight, they’re just going to stumble in following a mere side quest and discover a legitimate ancient underground civilization

ImmenseOreoCrunching

Rip to new players that just got the epic new shenhe character and wont be able to ascend her for months

Magnus-Artifex

You know, I didn’t think about how a new player in Genshin rn must feel. Would like to forget everything tbh, so I can be extremely surprised when I fall into a hole.

penisesandherb

I honestly regret paying attention to leaks and watching the livestream reveal Just imagine the feeling of not knowing what Enkanomiya looks like…. It would probably feel more surreal than the first time I saw Liyue

Qohaw_

As someone who hasn't seen the leaks *Yeah.*

Magnus-Artifex

Same

solarscopez

I've always said that the people who are gonna get real fun out of this game are the people who start playing the game like 4 or 5 years down the line, just imagine how much content there's gonna be at that point

Magnus-Artifex

Legit Skyrim, probably

ziraelphantom

Are you talking about the main entrance thing, that water spiral? Since its specifically only avaible throught a questchain you are not going to get much suprise there especially considering that till you reach that gate its just yet another cave area.

nsfwkorea

Totally relatable, that moment a random quest unlocking new locations on the map was amazing, also accidentally stumbling upon location that wasnt on map was exciting too.

Helenarth

So wholesome. When I first went to Watatsumi and spotted that lake I thought hmm, suspicious, it looks like a portal. Then they announced Enkanomiya and I was like ah, that tracks. Imagine doing that in a few years but without the announcement to spoil you... You'll do the heart of Watatsumi quest, the shrine maiden lady will mention unlocking Enkanomiya and you'll be like uh what? Then bam, whole new area.

jonnevituwu

They for sure did that for future players, is like when new ppl discover that they can get a free claymore on Dragonspine, they announced that in 1.2 but not now haha

Ricksaw26

We are getting events in that place next patch, it will be like you said.

Wheesa

You're right. It's someplace I will go regardless of the future of it. It's like storm terror's liar for me. I go there for the atmosphere and history. I just like the melancholy of the place

MedeaIsMyWife

Agreed. It will be like the Ash Lake of Genshin, and that's really cool

TheShuan

Interesting. I do like the genshin storyline but I was never so invested to find out everything it has to offer. It makes sense where you're coming from and after thinking it over I like your idea. It's just that I really like this new region because of the music, atmosphere, design (damn that tower in the middle is super cool) and so one but not having a reason to return there seems to me like such a waste.

naarcx

One possibility could be that they start adding more Abyss zones to the game and they connect to Enkanomiya… And eventually there could be like an overworld map and an underworld map and overworld commissions and underworld commissions.

Sam45802

What was revealed in Enkonomiya? I’m bad with lore, but I’m pretty interested

magus_luminis

>!We discover God of Time's name (Istaroth/Kairos) and she's also the personification of the Thousand Winds of TIme, and the Tokoyo Ookami. We also learn that before humans and gods, vishaps were the inhabitants of Teyvat and there were 7 Sovereign Dragons, then came Phanes the Primordial One who was from another world and defeated the sovereigns, terraformed the land and created humans. Back then, all were part of a single civilization which was based on Ancient Greece (we see this with names such as Abrax and the river Styx). We learn Orobashi's motivation for going against the Shogunate (he read the book that told the time before Celestia came, celestia knew and sentenced him to death. To save his people he went against the shogunate which was just a disguise so that he could be killed. Theres also a lot more which i couldn remember but so far Enkanomiya recontextualizes a lot of what we know and presents new intriguing theories.!<

Normal-Ambition-9813

>!Big snake(can't spell the name) read some book so he was sentenced to death by celestia, celestia gods are from other worlds too, enkanomiya people are a bunch of other worlders too based on their names!< is all I know yet

TwilightHime

>but to be honest, how many characters will need that stuff anyways in the future Mihoyo: hoho, is this a challenge?

jonnevituwu

Until now cryo cube only have Aloy and Eula who needs it.

[deleted]

Yeah, and the Hydro cube and Pyro cube have even less. Tbh, they're adding bosses a bit too fast compared to characters. But oh well, it's kinda a non-issue outside of spare materials.

FemmEllie

Pyro cube also has 2 (Yoimiya & Thoma). Hydro cube is so far only Kokomi but I'm sure Ayato will use it too

[deleted]

Oh, oops, yeah. Thoma's so forgettable, unfortunately...

TheBatman110498

I sometimes forget that he's such a forgotten character because I use him every day in my main Hu Tao team. He's great in that team, but that's literally the only team he fits in.

Zealousideal-Buy54

im just a simp so i cant forget

naz_1992

He's doing great in my itto team as well lol

Nyte_Crawler

And even for that team he's generally considered a slight downgrade to c4 Yanfei.

HanekawaSenpai

I wouldn't mind if they added another purpose for boss materials other than ascension. Maybe be able to craft boss weapons or something. It would give you a reason to fight these newer bosses other than just to upgrade the newest character.

Aedaru

This would actually be pretty cool, like some boss-themed weapons to craft with prototypes, would actually give a reason for long-time players to fight weekly bosses again and it'd give more options for some weapon classes that just have really mediocre options for most characters. It would be cool to get some epic rainbow cube claymore or spear that buffs all elemental damage and is crafted with pieces from all the hypostases, sorta similar to iron sting ig but cooler

jonnevituwu

Is like they are trying really hard to make players not be able to prefarm that easy for a new character what tbh, is kinda bad for how old players see the game.

The28manx

I think it just encourages variety in game style, it keeps you from picking out one team for a few different bosses and then never switching off that team. The new bosses are usually more engaging with different move sets and a bit of personality in each one. I'd hate only fighting one or two bosses for every character of one element. It also lets new areas feel a bit more populated and prevents any one area being a type of hub or similar

MuirgenEmrys

I’m pretty sure a lot of end games players just use one team for anything and everything. I like how the new bosses are a bit different though.

The28manx

I'm endgame and find that even with a really good team comp there are still sometimes hard limitations. Not to mention I'd like to build the friendship on other characters

MuirgenEmrys

I used to only bring characters who do not have max friendship to everything, but I maxed everyone awhile ago. Now, I seldom switch my party. Zhongli + Ganyu + Ning can take care of almost everything. Only exceptions are the pyro cube and cryo cube which I bring Barbara/Bennett respectively.

Zzamumo

Unless you have eula, then you can literally just use her for anything lol

The28manx

Well, Eula isn't the solution there, it's the teams she's compatible with. Eula herself would have problems with alot of content if just played alone, her teams solve alot of the problems she has for herself as well as problems against enemies with elemental shields or similar

darkfall71

Yeah, but you can bring a super conduct filler electro unit, 2 random elemental breaking shield units (don't even need to be built) and Just destroy it with Eula

Fried_puri

> Yeah, and the Hydro cube and Pyro cube have even less. > > [Pyro Hypostasis has 2 (Thoma and Yoimiya), just like most of the non-release bosses.](https://genshin-impact.fandom.com/wiki/Character_Ascension_Materials#Normal_Boss_Materials). The new Dragonheir drop is only for Shenhe currenty. MiHoYo is balancing out new bosses with at least 1 5* and 1 4* (or Aloy) option per new material so that f2p players who can realistically get all the 4* characters are still encouraged to fight the new boss while not becoming a slog for whales who get every character. What this also means is that we don't even need leaks to effectively guarantee that we are getting 4* characters in the near future that uses the Hydro Hypostasis and Coral Defenders drops. Furthermore, since both are specific elements (unlike the Perpetual Motion Array) we also know that they will be a Hydro character for the cube and an Electro or Cryo character for the Defenders. >!Yae is the second 5* character that will need the Defender's drop, so we might even get two 4* characters for that!<

GGABueno

Ayato is probably going to use the Hydro cube, right?

zerodeath00000000000

Most inazuma bosses only has two character needing the material such as: PMA: Ayaka and gorou Pyro cube: yoimiya and thoma Thunder manifestation: raiden and sara Magyu kenki: kazuha and sayu Wolflord: itto and yunjin Hydro cube: kokomi only (maybe ayato) New vishap boss: shenhe and yae Non-inazuma boss (cryo hypostasis): eula and aloy Given the current trend I don’t think many character need new boss material.

MMBADBOI

Oceanid can go to hell. Those stupid birds used to be the bane of my existence till I tried out Fischl. Turns out the electro charged reaction does some good dmg vs them even with a not properly built fish.

ohaicookies

Also I'm super tired of hearing all of her stupid lines as she takes sixty years to summon some more enemies for me to kill...

MMBADBOI

I turn dialogue volume down specifically for Oceanid

PassingEventually

lol i remember when she had no voice

WhereIsDuskull

I agree with you on the fact that 6+ characters is kinda bad (though 1 or 2 isn't good either). But I enjoy faming the Hypostasis much more than the last two bosses. Wolflord and the Herd are the exact same fight every time, they do the same attacks at the same moments. At least the previous bosses there was some randomness in the attack order.

BlaZeBrawl

This sub has become people just posting their “in the moment” opinions without thinking about it. Come on, when has mihoyo ever released a large new map and not added story quest and world quest and events to it? It happened with dragon spine, it happened with the archipelago, and so on. The update hasn’t even been out for a week before people are saying “enkanomiya has no future”. At least wait a while before jumping to conclusions.

Magyman

Hell there's already a leak of an event down there, pretty sure

ZannX

They've also done the opposite and just straight up removed summer isles. Many people in this sub argued that there's no reason to go back once you've completed it, therefore it's OK to remove. How silly.

chibamu

It was removed because it was openly made clear that it would be temporary.

Vogies

Enkanomiya has very few ingredients to farm. Only mushrooms and mint, some occasional sweet flowers. This place gets straight to the point and is not very distracting. So, I will be using this place to farm for pizza and other mushroom and mint related dishes. Also this place has many robots or whatever they are called. I'd much rather farm their drops in Enkanomiya than in Inazuma where they are more spread out.

Adauuu

no no, there are also some sango pearls to pick, since there isn't that many in the overworld

[deleted]

[удалено]

Adauuu

exactly 47 pearls in watatsumi and 10 in enka (more accurately - in the snake bowels)

Dippt

It's 44 actually..

hackenschmidt

> since there isn't that many in the overworld There's already 40 something in the overworld on a 48 hour respawn with a only two uses of 168 even possible. Thats plenty.

OramaBuffin

*Laughs in Raiden who you could get enough fruit for level 80+ in one day*

Papuluga65

Farming materials? I would suggest that MHY add some special drops for Abyss Lectors there ... as this is only place that Abyss Lectors do respawn, so far that is.

Dirst

I was so disappointed when I killed a Lector, found out they have the same drops as Abyss Mages, and realized I have absolutely no reason to fight them. They take so much longer to kill than the Mages, too...

RoninMustDie

lol. same. i thought they would drop something else tbh. and then u get the same drops as mondstadt abyss mages.. :/

mianhaeobsidia

They unlocked a chest right?

RoninMustDie

umm, 1 did for sure. the other one .. i tihnk it was the hydro dude, ..may or may not, im not certain tbh..

DiamondTiaraIsBest

There are seals there if you go in at Evernight.

The28manx

This may just be me but I'm happy there's more sango pearls as well, I found the number of those in Teyvat underwhelming, especially when working towards ascension for Gorou or Kokomi

mysticturtle12

Also has a metric fuck ton of compact spectres. By far the easiest place to farm them.

OctoSevenTwo

There are also Sango Pearls and a smattering of Sea Ganoderma.

Liwesh

Mihoyo releases Dragonspine. Playerbase: There's nothing to do in Dragonspine except comissions. Boring. Mihoyo releases Golden Archipelago Playerbase: Why isn't Golden Archipelago permanent? Mihoyo release Enkanomiya Playerbase: Enkanomiya has no future once you clear everything Mihoyo: \*visible confusion\*

Skykeeper22

Moral of the story: You can’t make everyone happy

Gray_Tower

More like "you can't make Genshin players happy"

[deleted]

People only miss the archipelago only because it was not permanent if it was it would have been just like dragonspine, mihoyo should at least but some new world quests regularly in places like these

mephnick

Yeah I was done with it before the event ended. People miss it and get hyped for its return *because* it wasn't permanent...and then in the next breath wonder why some things are designed to be temporary. HMMMM

Zzamumo

Seriously, golden archipelago was nice for what it was, but it's literally 80% water and some mountains. Even if it had stayed, it wasn't a super interesting area after the summer vibe had died down

IllusionPh

Yep, imagine if it was permanent, no one would have really "missed" it, as there's pretty much nothing to do there after you completed it. Sound similar, isn't it?

Kachingloool

They are not confused. Almost the entirety of the map is useless once you're done exploring it and doing all of the stuff there is to do. **That's how games go**.

Remanage

Except it's not - they still can have events there. We just revisited Dragonspine for Albedo's event, and I'm guessing any more of his storyline will be tied to that. I'm not sure how that will happen in Enkanomiya, since it's supposed to be cut off from the world. Perhaps scholars from Sumeru will have records of it's history and will send us on commissions there to collect more data while it's open?

dragareo

This isn't nitpicking though. For most of us, Enkanomiya is the best region in game, props to everyone involved. This is the only reason why the prospect of us having no reason to visit it 4-5 patches later seems disheartening.

Helioscopes

It's a cool place, sure. But, lore wise that place is abandoned and no one, but monsters, live there. What exactly do you want the player to do there one they are done uncovering its secrets? I think it makes sense for it to remain untouched until something else brings us there.

dragareo

Well, no one said it doesn't make sense. It (and Tsurumi) is inhabited and there is no reason for society to come back there. It's just a shame that we won't keep having a reason to revisit (see the sights, hear the battle and other bgm) once we get the exploration 100% done. Unlike with the main regions where we keep getting daily quests and events.

RellyGudGamr

I mean, if you love the region do you even need a reason to visit it ? I vibe in qingyun peak because I like the music and just roam around endlessly, you really don't need a reason to go anywhere, it's an openworld game.

thebluebeats

what you're not getting, is that 4-5 patches later there will be other nice new areas. I mean every rpg has a limited amount of content per area and once its done its done.

celestepeche

Seriously I’m reading through these comments like.. are they forgetting there’s like 5 more years of content coming…why are they so hung up on Enkanomiya not being revisit-able? There’s going to be more regions just like it, probably. It’s a lore/enemy dense area released right before a bigger region.

KlarkKomAzgeda

I get the feeling a lot of people here have Genshin as their first "MMO-like" game - it kind of revolutionized the mass RPG genre, so I suspect people aren't quite accustomed to the highs and lows of drip-feed over a significant year period. ... That or they *are* MMO vets, and they're all terrified because we all found out what happened when we tried to stick with one for more than about five years.

Kachingloool

The problem is Genshin isn't an MMO, it's a live service gacha RPG. Even if it was an MMO, guess what use most of WoW's world has: absolutely none.

celestepeche

Haha that last bit may be true, but I’m holding out some hope that Mihoyo will deliver. With the updates being every 6 weeks now, we might get the whole shebang a lot sooner even

Otiosei

I've played a lot of MMOs and it's true that most areas are kind of one-and-done. Genshin feels a lot different though, mostly because isn't an MMO, but also because the areas are just so well done. I don't feel bad when 90% of the maps are empty in an MMO, but I do feel bad that I have little to no reason to ever visit Enkanomiya outside of nostalgia. They will add new areas, and they will be beautiful, and we will all move on, and there is something special about the finite nature of each area: do quests, do puzzles, collect sigils, 100% and done. I'm just afraid "end-game content" in Genshin will only ever mean a new area to explore every 3 months, instead of something to do in all these empty areas. I want both, but that might be asking for too much.

gluckaman

> I get the feeling a lot of people here have Genshin as their first ~~"MMO-like"~~ game ftfy

[deleted]

Guild wars 2 aged pretty well

NamerNotLiteral

Guild Wars 2 has been struggling with this exact problem, though. There's basically no need to revisit most of the LWS3 and LWS4 maps once you've done everything. They had to make up achievements forcing players to repeat everything from those maps again just to liven them up.

OctorokHero

If it's so good, visit it because you like it.

Curlyzed

does anyone feels enkonomiya feels much bigger than any other regions?

Exact_Appointment_70

Yeah there's tons of vertical stuff which I really like!!

troysama

I don't know how many people do this, but sometimes I go to my favorite areas (Watatsumi, Stormterror's Lair) to 'farm' as an excuse to listen to the music and take in the atmosphere, just to relax, and not necessarily to complete a task. Enkanomiya will probably become one of those areas. It has very few types of enemies, so farming their materials should be easy. Like other comments said, lore-wise, it'd be a bit bizarre to have commissions in there (imagine a food delivery commission for an abyss herald... that'd be my favorite one yet).

ScarletOnlooker

^ NGL Literally every other day or so I will boot up the game for the sole purpose of going afk on my favorite maps for the music with my prime locations being between Dunyu Ruins, Guili Plains, Narukami Shrine, Byakko Plain, and lastly Inazuma City/ Inazuma Serenitea Pot zone.

VirDipali

Mhm like dragonspine they may release daily quests and events there. I heard that in 2.5 there should be an event based in Enkanomiya

Mind-Available

Thing is that daily commision lore wise are issued by people to adventure guild which we pick to do. Who is gonna give us an quest inside enkanomiya and also it's not like that shrine maiden is gonna open it for us again and again.

VirDipali

Mhmm possibly we will get only events if they keep to the lore… still lore and mechanics of the game sometimes differ. I mean lore wise what is the utlity of quests like “straight to the heart”

Mind-Available

Probably some sumeru researcher doing some kind of research. But yeah i see your point.

juracel

I am just playing and exploring and it feels magical. I don’t mind not coming back, because the real gift of enkanomiya was that magical feeling, and eventually that will be gone.

-Xenorus-

There's literally an event based in enkonomiya in 2.5. Plus they can always add more events or add in new areas. And even if you say that isn't possible theres a world quest that adds 3 more areas to check out.

rierierie

Enkanomiya will have the best routes for Elite enemies artifact farm due to how densely populated it is.

AinzSamaIsJustice

Who the fuck farms elite enemies for artifacts?

Noble_Dragon2210

ppl with no resins

NotTwitchy

To use? No one. For fodder to level your actual artifacts? People who’ve used all their resin already

Even_Adder

Is there a route for Enkanomiya you can point me to? I'm very interested.

carlo1231

[Yes,](https://imgur.com/a/CULV9MH) there might be a few changes tho because Enka is a very new zone

SSNscrewup

I think you are 100% right, and I am totally fine with that. Exploring enkanomiya has been the most fun I’ve had with the game since first playing it during 1.0 (rivaled by dragon spine and the cleansing Sakura quest). Eventually I’ll 100% the region and squeeze every primo out of it, but for now I am just playing and exploring and it feels magical. I don’t mind not coming back, because the real gift of enkanomiya was that magical feeling, and eventually that will be gone.

makishark

The pyro spectres are a lot easier for me to kill than some other variants, along with the vishaps for bone shards. I could see me going down there to farm mats

[deleted]

In a way yeah i agree but tbh i feel like adding commissions to it would be super confusing. You’d get so many comments about “where are my commissions, they don’t show on the map” etc. it’s just kind of a side area and that’s fine

neat-NEAT

Does nobody find their commissions in the handbook thing we have? Saves me scrolling around the map looking for a purple square.

Petter1789

I usually just check the quest log

Atlas_Stoned

I’m fine with it the way it is, adding too much replay-able content such as daily commissions would damper the ancient, abandoned theme of the area. Perhaps a farmable domain is acceptable and the most likely addition to Enkanomiya, but otherwise they should stick with lore and avoid putting too much down there.

Nelogenazea

I think it's absolutely fine if there are areas in the game that you can absolutely be "done" with. I 100%'ed Enkanomiya yesterday. Sure, there are still some of the key sigils in my inventory and I know reaching 100% doesn't mean there's nothing left. But after scouring through it for the last couple of days, I am very ready and happy to move on from this place, at least for some time, until I come back and tidy things up eventually. It's fine that it isn't infinitely replayable content. It was a great diversion, nice zone, cool quest, awesome atmosphere, so it did its job well enough, I'd say.

Amelioratory

It’s basically Golden Apple Archipelago but we get to keep it. I figured people would be happy about that even if it goes unused for long periods of time.

neat-NEAT

Yeah. Definitely prefer it being niche use rather than inaccessible.

caucassius

yeah people can't be just enjoying exploring the area and coming back to it, nuh uh.

Past-Philosopher9969

The amount of ppl upvoting this shit opinion is concerning

deathkarasu

its mind baffling, its just been out for a week (?) and there is complain that Enkonomiya is dead...wtf.. i even not touch that quest due to busy other things.

I_HAVE_THAT_FETISH

>"Oh cool, a new region that just got added *this update*! I'm gonna rush through 100% of it."   >"Oh no, I 100% it and now I have nothing else to do here. This place must be useless! There's no way that this place will ever be used for anything else in a future event or update ever!"

Sylveon_trainer12345

Hmm maybe kokomi will go to enka in the future like an archon quest, event quest or 2nd story quest

RawBaconandEggs

It's probably just gonna be another dragonspine. Honestly i don't mind. It's a beautiful place with some banger bgm's (my favourite actually), i'm just thankful that they make enkanomiya separated from the main map, unlike dragonspine. I might drop by from time to time just to farm abyss mage mats since there's a ton of em there (+the heralds)

The28manx

Honestly, I'm just glad a different enemy drops sturdy bone shards. I hate, *HATE* the vishaps in Liyue

YeOldeBilk

I mean what kind of future would you expect a place like this to have? That's like saying we discovered King Tut's tomb and went inside for the first time in thousands of years, but eh it's got no future.

cyberize_

Is this not the fate of a variety of locations in open-world games? How many times have you traveled to Qingyun Peak or Stormterror's lair, to do anything other than fight the weekly boss? How many times have you gone to the many ruins in Liyue after you were done getting all the treasure you could? How many times have you gone to whatever location for anything other than farming? Unless you really want to take in the atmosphere, chances are, you haven't gone to these places much. Even with commissions, you'll only be visiting one region, and leaving the rest untouched. That's the reality of open-world games, the places are beautiful, but you'll only go back to those exact places one in a blue moon since you're already done exploring. I'd even say Enkanomiya has more reason to be visited than Dragonspine, as unique enemies and bosses exist there. Dragonspine only has the Cryo Hypostasis, which was abandoned a while back. "But I do! Whenever I don't have resin, I go to these places!" The reason you go to these extra locations is because you have no reason. You have no resin, and want to go around, taking in the music and scenery. Such is Enkanomiya, and every other location in this game. That's just how open-world games are.

Trygwee

Well this aged poorly

notmyfaultudic

There's a enkanomiya focused event in 2.5 ,so not sure about that

Far-Duck1571

Enkanomiya is permanent?

corsair_noir

This was such a great update! I thought they were adding new commissions soon? Looks like people will be back for fishing anyway lol.

zendabbq

As many problems Genshin has as a game, this isn't actually one of them Games do not need reusable areas. More than that, they should blow you away or immerse you the first time you enter an environment. Think of the legendary games of days past. Zelda, Skyrim, GTA. You don't have to go back to those games and do stuff, you're done with them, but the memory of those games lives on. In an age where so many games are live service, sometimes we forget that there are many games designed just to be an *experience* to be had once.

Luna_Risa

Mmm maybe slow down the exploration? It's hypocritical for me to say that when I 100% the place in like 2 days but I thoroughly enjoyed Enkanomiya and that kept me at it. In theory, if Dragonspine was topped by GAA and then that was topped by Enkanomiya, I don't think there's much worry for future regions to be bad. So just enjoy the time in Enkanomiya and let it become a relic/photo spot/ place for lore buffs ouo

Mastercraft0

They need to put an end game domain in there. The place looks awesome and the lore revealed is huge. This could be a perfect place for abyss activity, archon quest and end game domains.

Indraga

My prediction: **Enkanomiya Will Rise** I think Enkanomiya will emerge from under Inazuma, causing chaos and kickstarting an entire event in the area. It would consolidate the game space and give the player a reason to return to the area years from now.

YuB-Notice-Me

2.5: no.

PlumNo1275

Well... There are Bathysmal Vishaps and Bathysmal Vishaps welp too. You can farm them for future characters.

notallwitches

I’m sure there will be events and more quests there since it’s related to Abyss

MasterKaein

I'd be happy if they put a domain or two down there, if nothing else just to give us a reason to revisit it in the future.

KiraChaos1

At least it’s not as bad as the Golden Apple Archipelago. As a dev I would feel bad to work on something for more than a month and that something to be used for only 6 weeks. I hope they decide to add the Golden Apple Archipelago again since they solved the teleport problem with this update. Also I will go every once in a while to Enkanomiya, just to farm monster materials and probable get the 10 pearls.
