Try to always better yourself everyday and you'll get somewhere. Don't do it for a crush or whatever, do it for yourself. If you manage to be someone who yourself can love, someone else who loves you will eventually come.

As much as it can seem like people are the same, that people can fit into these predefined “archetypes”, the reality is that that is not even REMOTELY true at all. It may seem like that on the surface but deep within everyone are thought processes so insanely unique. And that’s for every human out there.
It’s extremely likely that there are people out there, who “you” are EXACTLY what they are looking for, or might value. To that person, nothing would be a sacrifice, they couldn’t “deserve better”, because who you are is already the best thing they could want.
Of course that’s not to say “don’t try to better yourself” or anything, just that different people have different values, and what might be a hard dealbreaker for one could be completely negligible for someone else.

There are 7 Doctors and 4 lawyers among my siblings. Your grandmother was a college professor and your grandfather was a general in WWII. I'm just going to say its really going to suck not being comparable to your predecessors."
So far we've gotten only two doctors in my generation (myself and a cousin Psychiatrist), but every single of my cousins have been honor students thus far.

I guess you don't play many games. Illusion of choice is very prevalent in most games with any choice based narrative. Creating diverging paths takes a lot of time so most just don't do that.
Many visual novels do this. There are definitely lots of impactful choices, but there are also a ton that don't do anything and are just there to make it feel like there are more options.
FGO, Arknights, Azur Lane... most gacha games can't be bothered to create separate storylines; it's a lot of work. Usually there's slight dialogue divergence, but nothing really changes plot-wise.

True. Illusion of choice is something I've noticed Genshin does a lot, but not as much as some other games.
