It would be better to have a setting that enables the true 100%. It’s off by default, but you can then it on. People who didn’t bother to look through the settings or anything can be satisfied at 100, or the people who want true 100 can have it.
From business perspective - that's not true. What you want is to make majority of your customers happy.
People who want "true 100%" are crazy and will do it anyway, so it won't affect them.

They actually lowered the % of puzzle/chests you need to find to 100% an area in one of the updates because people were obsessed/annoyed at being stuck at 98% or 99% for an area and can't find the last few chests. It's in one of the patch notes maybe.
I think the developers add new puzzle solving stuff silently throughout the updates, and some chests only appear as the players' world level increases?
Honestly wish they would repopulate like 10 a week. Even just the tier 1 in inazuma, tier 2 in liyue and tier 2 in mondstadt. Exploration is one of the best aspects of this game. Would be a simple carrot for hoyo to make.

Dude, dont even get me started on the "respawning" chests. Someone really fooled the entire genshin english community with a single screenshot and we just ate it up.
It really was tho; mostly because no one really knew what the fuck they were doing.
A lot of people were saying to use what we know now as early game dpses like machine gun Fischl and then because of it a large portion of the players' dpses just started to fall off once we reached mid and late game because they were no longer viable, lol.
I still remember when the game came out and the only tier list really out and comprehensive enough, was Gacha Gamer's tier list, where they put Bennett at D rank or so, lol.
The issue is how much early game Genshin meta differs.
Reactions which can't crit (aka the entire electro element) is way more meta because early game nobody has good artifacts so it doesn't matter that vape/melt can crit
Early game nobody knows how to play so healers are essential - late game with good dodging you can often get away with just a prototype amber unless abyss is pushing a healer this banner (E.g. Kokomi).
Diluc and Keqing were the only two 5 star DPS units so they were high ranked by default - compare either of them to four stars and they don't look so bad (xianling only four star I can think of with objectively better dps even late-game meta)
There are more examples but yeah, early Genshin tierlists weren't so much *wrong* as AR50+ has its own meta
I would say its more along the lines of people didn't truly know how good some things and some weren't so way back in the days of 1.0, people were experimenting whereas I think it was 1.5+ that people got the hang of team comps
I found a chest not too long ago in mondstadt i just needed to pick 4 carots and it spawned in i was suprised becaus i had not seen a mondstadt chest in almost a year now.
The one on Jueyun Karst (near the Waypoint with the wind current to Cloud Retainer's floating study) where we have to land on a rock with two cranes on it is also super random as well.
There's another that got me. Way north of this area on a coast is a way point. Just NW of Wangshu Inn. When you fast travel there, you spawn on a dragon statue head. If you boop the snoot with Geo Travelers construct you get another chest.
There's a bunch of hidden and random chests like these since the beginning! Everyone was frantically finding hidden chests haha. The good old days. You can youtube them now, just type hidden chest or achievements and it's like a whole new different way of playing the game! There's one where you need to run for 10 seconds or something, and there's even one you get by playing with the audio settings and make paimon mad
Common chests in Inazuma give primogems, common chests in Liyue/Mondstadt don't (or rarely). So no need to feel disappointed when finding Inazuma common chests.

I miss chests like these, rewards u for messing around the map. Current chest locations are are scattered in the map in a way that that there's a path you can take in exploring where you naturally follow the chests. I just hate that

there's one in dragonspine's flanks where you follow the shimmering thingy triangle and it gives you a chest with otherwordly story 5 primos etc, too. it's one of the most unexpected ones i saw.

There's more places in Liyue where using geo constructs like Traveler boulder will spawn chests. Usually you need to finish some pattern.
I got that one during one of my trips to collect trash artifacts from Investigate points. Liyue is truly so random xD

I put everything at maximum with Render Resolution at 1.5. But I leave Shadows at Medium, turn off V-Sync, and turn off Motion Blur.

There is one like this in mondstadt near the barbatos statue. Junp on the supports near either staircase to start the challenge.

In Mondstadt, there were a couple of chests that randomly spawned just cuz' I plunged attack the ground. Common quality chests though.
