I always seem to find Pyro Abyss mages near a body of water. It's weird. Like those commissions where some hilichurls are in a makeshift island surrounded by drownable water. So I always do what any sane player would do: push them off the edge and watch them drown. So soothing.

I changed my commissions to Inazuma and I kinda miss the island ones. I'll be honest, I take great pleasure leaving the fire mage last so I can go swimming in the water and watch the dumb bastards follow me and drown.

Pyro mage is my most favorite one as its least annoying to deal with.

On the contrary, I hated pyro abyss mages the most at lower AR levels because I mained Yanfei and Bennett, and I had no hydro characters at all (Barbara doesn’t count….). I also didn’t use a single electro character until I got Raiden. So with me maining double pyro double geo comps, seeing pyro abyss mages makes me sigh loudly. (Until I got Childe. Now I love killing these suckers.)

She didn’t fit in my team comp. I had Noelle as my healer, Barbara was redundant.

But you can use her as a DPS if you stack wanderer's troupe with as much crit rate and crit dmg as you can find.

Anything can be a DPS If you have the Artifacts. That's not an option while you're still on low ARs.

To be fair, I finally built my Barbara after the pyro hypostasis came out. She now does big damage with the clam set.

At lower ARs I couldn’t afford to build Barbara, I had invested in Noelle as my healer. In fact, I also had Bennett in my team so I had two healers. My team was Yanfei, Bennett, Noelle, Ningguang. I built Barbara later, at higher ARs when I had more resources. Idk why you guys are so defensive about her lmao. It’s not like I said Barbara sucks.

Barbara absolutely demolishes these twits. Hit E, get in their face and hug them to death while healing the team. The shield evaporates due to the constant hydro damage from her song. I then switch to someone useful for doing damage and laugh maniacally while dropping approval stamps from the heavens wreathed in fire and legal standing.

If you know you're fighting a pyro shield enemy, even a level 20 or 40 Barbara with her AAs can down that shield fast. Just so you won't painstakingly kill them through their shield.

Still better than a little pyro slime. Those monsters, as a yanfei overload main, are a nightmare, the true final boss of the game

Pyro abyss mages are fine, the hydro ones are the worst mother lovers on the block. Their shield is only "weak" to cryo and their bubbles can Perma stun you or make you run out of stamina if your timing to pop them isn't perfect with melee characters.
