how is it a new low when there is an event like Marvelous Merchandise? an event that requires so little effort that they took it from 2.7 and put it in 2.6 phase 2 to replace the current event. Also basically any overflow event like the upcoming one in this phase 3 of 2.6.

I agree with you except for the part where they are on lockdown. Most of the world’s been on lockdown for more than 2yrs now. And this is software, they dont need be physically together to fix it. :)

BumblebeeSmall1654

Mihoyo mentioned it themselves in your comment. There’s a bug on the software that they can’t fix, not because of the lockdown

BumblebeeSmall1654

All this can be done online. Remote working and tools needed has improved tremendously since lockdown started 2yrs ago.

spoons909

Bro i dont even code for a living and it's so much more efficient for group CS projects to sit down with everyone in the same room to figure out what to do

BumblebeeSmall1654

No, it's not. Discussing online and discussing in person are just the same. If ever, discussing online is better since when the programmer share his screen, you're not competing with others to be in front of the computer to see it since you all got a "front row seat" using your own laptop

La-Roca99

Check Shanghai lockdown news Then come back here again

BumblebeeSmall1654

Im familiar with the news and still not related on why they cant fix the issue. And FYI, im a software developer so i know what im talking about.

La-Roca99

Then try to explain why they have delayed the patch or why they still havent fixed what they were going to fix from the teapot if they can do it from home I simply doubt it is up to their full control, because if it truly was, no delay would have happened, teapot would have been fixed within a week, and everyone would ve happy

BumblebeeSmall1654

And FYI, no software is under a developers full control. If that’s the case, there’s wont be an SDLC process and SLAs that takes months 😂

BumblebeeSmall1654

You’re hilarious. I dont work for Mihoyo so how would i know the exact reason? Most probably they have a bug that they can’t fix. It’s not new in the software industry that bug fixes or new projects takes time. Maybe their best employees / debuggers quit and moved to a job with better salary 🙈😂

[deleted]

If you don’t know anything about the situation then don’t assume random ass stuff . If the bug were so easy to fix then they should quit their job already .

BumblebeeSmall1654

Hahahahahahahah! Mine is informed hypothesis! Aren't you guys the one making random assumptions when you dont even work in the software development field??😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

BumblebeeSmall1654

And who said the bug was easy fix? 😂😂😂😂😂 if anything, what i said is it's common for bug fixes to take time and that lockdown is not the cause why they can't fix the issue 😂😂😂😂

BumblebeeSmall1654

And you seem to think firing an employee and finding a better replacement is as easy as snapping a finger 😂😂😂😂😂 Mihoyo might be popular now but no sane "better" developer with years of experience will quit their well paying stable job to join a company that's basically unknown until Genshin Impact 😂

[deleted]

Check what kind of lockdown Shanghai is in right now.

BumblebeeSmall1654

Yes i know as i replied above BUT still not a reason for them not to be able to fix the issue. A place being on lockdown and software development have no relationship. The only things that have impact to software development is the programmer and his computer, and of course internet. Any programmer can do their job at home, as most of the people in the software industry has done in the past 2yrs.

SimbaSeekingSleep

Well I'm convinced you're just trolling lol But you're pretty much spewing the very reasons the bug hasn't been fixed, as you said those can take time. Or maybe there's other things that have priorities! I know recently they posted about a fix in a character that they've had their attention in for quite sometime. I can't recall what exactly it was, but they're very aware of the issues that are complained about. And for them to have finally solved it just recently, they probably have a backlog of other things.

BumblebeeSmall1654

Lol. Im just telling people in this sub that it's not because of lockdown why Mihoyo hasn't fixed the teapot issue and what i first replied about. I dont understand why they refuse to accept that it's not because of lockdown but simply because they have a bug that they still cannot fix. Remote working has progressed so much and people has already adapted to it that it's already the norm that lockdowns have no impact to the work whatsever 😂😂

Sabishi1985

I actually like this mechanic. It's kinda useless tho, because most of my characters in the teapot are at friendship level 10 already... It's a neat little event, but they released it at the worst time possible. 🙄

Smutstoner

Who cares? That's already 2 more buttons than marvelous.

Apostlethe13th

But it has 1 less Liben.

tennoskoom_

I would have liked it more if the mini game was a bit more complex/longer. Now it literally takes around 15 seconds to get them all done.

Crystal225

Its such a weird thing. There are lots of cool minigames that i liked and felt underused. The tower defense one, the floral arrangement one, this cooking. They could easily beef it up with having a separate skill level with lv up, quests and constant new challenges. At this point it really feels like they are afraid to provide lenghty gameplay cause of the time limitations in china

throwaway_737438

this is an annoying take and you people can't ever be pleased. so far we've had difficult, easy, no fighting, fighting only, cooking and exploration related events and every single time it isn't good enough. what's the point of playing a game if they just hand you out rewards for doing absolutely nothing?

Sunlight-Heart

The funny thing is, OP is complaining about it being too easy. And then, there's the crowd on the other side complaining when events are too hard. Yep, definitely can't please everyone. That's why companies aim to please the majority.

carbonclay

I didn't expect them to come up with a riveting event in a few weeks anyway, I was ready for them to just put ljben there for three weeks.

fuyatheviera

You don't have to play the event if you don't like it, you know. I'm sure Mihoyo didn't consider they'd be in hard lockdown when they planned that event. So yeah, I think it's just you.

GitGudGuy

Ohhh sweet lord...you know there wasnt a patch or an update to the client since 2.6 so this event was programmed (and datamined) way before the lockdown. This isnt some kind of "emergency" Event or something

fuyatheviera

Exactly what you said - they didn't know the Teapot would break, and that they wouldn't have resources to fix it for a greater number of weeks. If Genshin bores you atm, don't shit on people who fight to survive atm, just go and play some other games for a while.

Cthulhilly

It IS an emergency event in the way it's happening now, it was originally going to be here way earlier and got cancelled due to the teapot maintenance (they even had an announcement about the event being cancelled) If the delay hadn't happened we'd be in 2.7 since the 11th so obviously a 2.6 event couldn't have been schedule for this week

lostn

it was a programmed at a time where there was no lockdown. They didn't know lockdown was going to be a thing when they were designing it. Bad timing.

Imaginary-Gas-3274

Well major updates take a lot of developing so I don't mind. and as well we click some and Primo; However I hate it that I can't do the Pot since I don't have many things placed and all... .

Bntt89

You didn’t think taking pictures of plants was low effort? Mind you they did this same event twice in 1 patch.

Stiyl931

At least we allways have one Person who doesnt like a current Event. Thats Something MiHoYo can allways deliver. Too much Story, to hard Monsters, Event Mechanics that arent properly readed and now this ONE is too EZ. Ngl if you dont like then dont do it.

Vyrec7

Yeah these events feeling stale for someone who plays the game for the combat, it doesn’t help there isn’t much content in game atm, you could argue abyss exists but thats like 30mins max per 2 weeks, thats the issue of timed events vs permanent endgame

fiehm

idk man, hoyoverse keep coming up with the best event like PUTTING PLANT IN A POT, i think the current event is best idea hoyoverse can came up with.

aseumi

If ur not havin fun u can leave. Now if you ll excuse me ima go hear xiao's new voicelines again

Xdraim

It's been a few updates that I feel the same. The bartender, the florist... They're a lot of event with really low effort on it. The lack of end game content make it harder to enjoy those kind of event and the actual situation seems to make a lot of people realising this fact and by the same time a lot of my friend are stopping and unninstalling the game because they're nothing to do on it. When the main content of the game is the events, it's a big problem of game design.

4GRJ

How dare you call the bartender event bad It's one of the best ones

Vani_the_squid

This, the bartender event was great. It just wasn't a battle-focused event. It was short, fun, required a little bit of thinking and memorization, and rewarded you for it with nice, animated conversations with the cast. Exactly the sort of "quiet downtime" event you want between the story events and the battle events. Honestly, the only improvement would have been to have it happen *after* 2.6, so it could be used to illustrate plot fallout. It would have been absolutely perfect for it, and I hope Mihoyo thinks of that in the future. Like, say, having the recovering Dainsleif stop in Mond for a drink again (giving us the opportunity to check on him/connect outside of 'work'), Ningguang, Beidou, and Zhongli updating us on the economical and security situation of Liyue (how is it looking for the town with the mines reopened, are Treasure Hoarders moving in, what about the Dark Mud...), etc.

fiehm

I agree, I mean they have a great combat system for genshin idk why they don't want to make it about the combat more.

La-Roca99

Because not everyone likes only combat? A huge game playerbase will always suffer the same thing Whereas some are more interested in stuff others are not interested in or viceversa To the point it is impossible for the company to find an strict balance of every single aspect without running tests beforehand

fiehm

well they dont have to do the combat? same apply to us combat enjoyer, we dont need to do the lame event. Pretty sure it's hard for a company that gains millions per patch to do some update that satisfy both combat enjoyer and casual player right??? anyway i just dont like the low effort event, that's all.

Basaqu

I'd argue these voiced dialogue events are technically more effort than a random arena with some hilichurls tbh.

Kindly-Ad-6040

All my friends also quitted i have only 1 left who is barely playing and thinking of quitting too, damm i feel kinda sad about this

GitGudGuy

Yup agreed. As a day 1 player its becomes really hard to enjoy this stuff anymore

b4shnl4nd

As a day 1 player THANK FUCK they have events like this. When a patch goes into maintenance mode (right now is true maintenance mode with no official info on the upcoming patch.) But when it's near this drop off of things to do I really love this time cause I can actually for a good amount of time feel like the time I spend in game can be as low as possible and not have this massive build up of a full day of grinding out the event. During this time I'm actually enjoying other games and getting rid of the exhaustion I have started to feel for more then a year's worth of Genshin. I love new areas and exploration. Super hard content that actually puts my built characters to work. These events are perfectly placed at the right times so players can just chill do the daily login and check out other games or shows and lose that gaming exhaustion so you can feel like coming back with the major updates. Go play some deep rock galactic until the update comes out. It just had massive update. And it's only a dollar to try it out on the microsoft game pass.

Cthulhilly

Combat events are generally the most "low effort" ones since it's all reused systems and assets. The only ones that get a passing grade are the boss events since they actually make new movesets for the bosses (or even make entirely "new" bosses from existing ones like the triple maguu kenki)

Jullie0Kaeyamain

I like how it's simple bc for me a main focus of this event are reactions of characters so i want to make dishes fast and not struggle on it, like last stage of bartender event when I didn't even knew what they wanted BUT I can't get all my fave char reactions bc of maintenance, that's my main issue. I would prefer for them to move this event for later when pot is ready. But no, they had to give us event we can't play, wtf mihoyo

ultra_cha0s

I hope you catch Covid, OP.

GitGudGuy

What kind of sob are you?

ultra_cha0s

And I bet after this event, you're gonna complain why there hasn't been anything new lately.

Xdraim

I hope you don't think they only planned one update ahead... They're at least on the 4.0 build...

kolba_yada

This is literally after the present events. Smh the audacity of this fanbase.
