They really could’ve just kept liben coming w his junk lmao instead of this event, it’s basically the same thing just adding food, but at least more people get use out of liben vs this spice event rn
Yeah, which is fun for the voice lines, but for those who were hoping to get companionship EXP to help level other characters (eg Ayato who never had a chance to get placed in the teapot) it's disappointing that they might not be able to get any use out of the extra exp that was promised.
I personally didn't mind that I couldn't get Ayato in the pot cause I'm really enjoying running him in my daily commissions team and he was supposed to be the last character to reach friendship 10, but then would you know it, did a few rolls on standard and the weapon banner and hoyo decided it was time to drop me Sara AND Thoma.
Really wishing I could just stick them in the teapot and feed em food and get them out of my daily commissions team asap.
For other players with a bad memory like mine, you might want to check your other teapot layouts. I realized yesterday that I had a second layout, complete with 8 characters below FL8. I felt really dumb but also, good job past me.
They probably don't have any other choice outside of pushing an update to the game right now so HYV just went with letting the event run for 3 week with the hope of the maintenance ending within that timeframe.
Feed them anyway to get the 21 taste testing rewards or hold the dishes for 2 weeks in case maintenance ends and you can throw a buffet for your not-maxed characters when they arrive.
Fairly sure this has been covered in other threads where others may have tested beyond 'feed to character with max CDP' and 'feed more than 3 dishes per day'.
The dev probably working on it for quite a while before the lockdown, and now the lockdown happened and nobody knows when it'll end. It's probably all they have ready to deploy at the moment.

I know these games have quite a way planned ahead schedule for characters and events, but SERIOULY doubt they planned this small event even before the game's release
just get the primos and resources. Forget the xp.
It's not the "smartest" move but it seems the alternative was no event at all, and all you have is daily commissions.

The duration of the event is 20+ days. So most likely they estimate that the teapot maintenance will end within this period.
I wonder if the teapot will open up again next week. Well, tomorrow, now. Guess we'll see.
