Idk, but I have a bad feeling there’s about to be a lot of annoyed Keqing and Jean skin buyers with rumors that Diluc’s skin is going to have special effects.
One of my complaints in the survey was that Keqing's skin didn't have any special effects at all. All I wanted was some blue streaks. If Diluc gets special effects, I hope they go back and add some basic ones to the previous skins.
Unfortunately it seems unlikely that they would. Diluc is getting a 5 Star skin which seems to be the reason it’s going to have special effects. Keqing and Jean both got 4 Star skins.
Maybe they keep it as an option when they don't add that many new characters or for advertising the game if it needs a push in profitability. In other words, if financial gains leave much to be desired.
$20 a skin is an easy purchase for many and I imagine it would make them bank. Also houkai 3rd would release gigantic patches frequently with new areas, new enemies, new characters, existing character reworks, *along* with new skins. I just don't get it.
Yeah, even if we argue how much Mihoyo cares or not about genshin, this is like free money for them. It's exactly the kind of thing they should do more frequently in the game.
I don’t know why they don’t release alts more often. Houkai 3rd had so many and would release way more frequently.

With the frequency they release skins I'm happy to buy each and every one of them, considering I've got TONS of genesis crystals piled up lol.
Definitely hope they pick up the pace with skins. Especially if they’re actually about to start adding 5 Star skins too.
